Schlussel on XM: ICE, Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt & Super Bowl

By Debbie Schlussel

Check out my appearance, last night, on the “Brett Winterble Show” on XM’s Talk Radio Chanel 165. Listen, learn, and be entertained.  We talked about ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood, mummies/sarcophagi, and the Superbowl.

Debbie,
Please speak out more on the convoluted 12 “priorities” ICE has, nothing to do with National Security. ICE has been dominated by former Customs agents and they refuse to give up drugs, bulk cash and IPR (Intellectual Property Rights), their mission as they see it is to protect the revenue as if they are still Treasury agents. Someone has to do this job, but it should be Commerce, DEA and the myriad of other agencies who has primary jurisdictions. After 911 it was the INS that made 99% of the arrests using Title 8 immigration authority (of course the FBI took credit through the JTTF).

If ICE, know now as HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) wants to be relevant, they must shed all their former investigative functions and concentrate on persons seeking to harm communities and that are members of terrorist cells. HSI needs only three things, a strong commitment to interior immigration enforcement of “criminal aliens and subversives”, ERO (Enforcement Removal Operations) can arrest the administrative criminals, financial investigative efforts (following the money) and a sharing of CT (Counter-Terrorism) jurisdiction that only the FBI currently possesses.
What we have now is only a Customs agency with leadership that suppresses immigration enforcement with the tacit approval of the Administration for political reasons – so as not to unset the Hispanic community. Targeting jailbirds that would not be able to become legal if God forbid another amnesty reared its ugly head and giving a pass to lesser violent criminals and those here illegally (because they would be newly printed democratic voters) – that’s the current situation.

Continue to demand an answer to the following questions – Does HSI (ICE) have authority to independently investigate suspected terrorists for terrorist membership and for financing terrorist organizations outside the permission of the JTTF (FBI)? Does HSI have ANY CT jurisdictional mandate? Why has the FBI continued to maintain sole jurisdiction of CT authority? Why doesn’t Congress provide legislative authority to Homeland Security to independently investigate suspected terrorists in coordination and with de-confliction with the FBI?

Debbie

Very good interview

Only thing I’d add to what you might have explicitly said – Muslims don’t appreciate anything coming out of non-Islamic cultures, and if it’s from their own pre-Islamic history, they regard it as Jahiliya, or (pre-Islamic) ignorance. The Muslim Brotherhood would therefore treat the pyramids just like the Taliban did the Bamiyan Buddhas. As a result, things like the mummies, or in the Saudi case, the Arabian coins, etc would be treated exactly like you said it would. But that would be the reason not to give Muslims artifacts from pre-Islamic cultures.

Other than that, great interview.

Cleopatra was actually of Greek extraction. She was the descendant of invaders, herself. (Though, more respectful conquerors.)

Craig,

I could not have said it better myself. I would add though CP to your list of worthless cases still being done by legacy customs agents. CP has nothing to do with protecting the border.
