I forgot to ask this question, earlier this week I was listening to Michael Savage’s program (I’m currently listening to the third and final hour of his show via the internet, because WOR in NY, NY cutted the last hour of his show, ie, 6pm-8pm), he asked why where the signs in Egypt printed in “english” instead of arabic or any middle eastern language? I’ll ask the question, why where those signs written in english? Egypt’s national language is arabic from what I’ve learned. I think the people in this country are behind on writing those signs in english, more likely it’s anti-american groups here in the states that’s behind the signs written in english instead of arabic?

I find this article extremely on point and more than a little bit frightening.

Yemen and Tunisia have also had mass protests. They‘re all autocratic, majority Muslim nations. But they‘re not all oil states. And Tunisia is mostly secular.

So, what else do these countries have in common? One thing is high food prices—a factor in how all the protests really started and how all of it started. And it‘s not a coincidence that all of them have high food prices right now. Food prices have skyrocketed around the world and a big reason for that is Wall Street’s shenanigans & the fact that they’ve ramped up their bets on commodities.

We don‘t notice price hikes so much because most of our food prices come from marketing and packaging. But in the developing world, the price of food is everything.

And what country imports more wheat than any other? Egypt—where the price of wheat rose 70 percent last year. A lot of reports mentioned that Russia cut off its wheat supply last year. What they don‘t tell you is why. Because futures traders asked them to.

Strictly due to speculation there are other factors also in the financial community that are even more sinister. There‘s a mathematical certainty that is this: all the paper currency in the world, all the money, all the paper, must by definition equal the value of all the commodities, because a commodity is equal to what the value of the currencies are in the world.

In order to cover up the massive bank theft that‘s been perpetrated in this country in 2008, the Federal Reserve, under the guidance of first President Bush and now President Obama has been printing trillions of new dollars and people, smart financial planners, have been concerned about the debasing effect that has on our currency. Well, as a direct result of the Federal Reserve‘s money printing, to cover up our bank theft, that has been an additional factor in causing commodity prices to explode higher.
So, in addition, to the speculative aspects a by product of the Federal Reserve and the White House and the Treasury‘s decision to go with money printing as a way to prop up our economy, is driving food prices higher.

It‘s just an amazing domino effect. There is no doubt. The position limits, are critical in that they represent a limit as to how much grain could potentially actually exist.

The elimination of the position limit makes it such that you can suddenly buy more grain than exists on the entire planet because now you‘re just speculating on the price or potential price and creating all the price inflation.

But somebody pays a price down the line. And in this case, it is people of these countries that are run by dictators that can‘t provide for their people. There‘s the snowball effect. Whether it‘s the poor in the Middle East, the poor in Asia, or the poor in Louisiana and Arkansas, those are the only people who suffer from the financial shenanigans perpetrated at the highest levels of our government.

I’d really like to know what some of you think of this article and if you believe any of it. Debbie’s blog posts and the comments from her regular commenters have been responsible for providing me with a real education and I thank you all for this.

You might have a local case if you wanted to take on the Money Supply Guys for hiding the Currency Inflation in the Real Estate Market (because the Inflation doesn’t get counted in the Consumer Price Index when it is merely everybody paying more for the same house…) But clearly there is a breaking point even there. But in college, as a freshman in Economics 101 you learn that the Government doesn’t actually “Print The Money”. The Money Supply grows because the Banks are permitted to loan out more loans. The “Prime Interest Rate,” The Money that the bank is required to keep to guarantee against a “Run On The Bank” is lowered so the Banks can loan more money with the exact same “Reserve”.

But That’s only a local case. And it has no relevance to the situation. America is so deeply in debt to the countries supplying Hard Goods and Oil that we are essentially broke. We only have a surplus of food to sell. Your Wheat, If you will. And China and the Arab countries will buy the wheat as fast as we can produce it, but there are a thousand other factors controlling the price, and there is no collusion in the pricing.

But, if you can show me reasonably salient proof, I’ll concede to your superior knowledge of the situation. Otherwise, it sounds so far out that I must call “Bullshit” on you.

Debbie my newspaper is full of sympathetic stories about local Egyptians rallying to support the anti-Mubarak forces and comparing them to freedom movements in Eastern Europe, etc. The reporters are lazy and dumber than a box of rocks and basically are just doing p.r. for the neighborhood Islamists.
