Why is it these awards ceremonies are becoming nothing but a platform from which Hollywood airheads can spew anti American, anti Israel filth? If the producers of these shows had half a brain, they’d realize they are killing their own industry with this crap. If even 25% of those viewing (and I’m sure it more than that) find these comments to be offensive enough to stop patronizing movies, they would be out of work. Give the award if you must, but cut off their mics if they say anything beyond “thank you”.

Before I go on, I want you to know that I’m not expressing any opinions here only documented facts. The “Zionist hoodlums” she was referring to were members of the Jewish Defense League (JDL) who allegedly sent death threats to her and to members of the Academy. In the FBI’s terrorism 2000/2001 report, it referred to the JDL as a terrorist group:

Now some of you might not care that members of the JDL were going to bomb a mosque after 9/11 but they were also trying to bomb the office of congressman Issa which is something to keep in mind.

Just one point, Julia in the film, “Julia,” was not Jewish but a member of whatever could be considered early 20th century American Aristocracy. Jane Fonda’s character as you point out was Lillian Hellman, who apparently did no such thing as donate thousands of dollars to help nazi political prisoners and Jews. This apparently was an apparition of Hellman’s grandiosity.
