So because lots of people care what Oprah thinks, the government needs to step in? I’m surprised to hear you taking such a nanny state position on election law.
Don’t worry: military contractors, tobacco companies, oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, hollywood, and the gun lobby also unfairly influence elections. If elections were fair, they’d have been outlawed long ago.

deb needs to not read off signs/cue cards and do blogs on the fly… she is good on radio, I don’t see (understand) why she makes rehearsed looking vid blogs (her eyes seem to be “reading” at times). the whole point of vid blogs is speaking to the peeps from the heart.
On this issue I agree with deb only because of the crappy mcain/feingold garbage legi. Using Oprah is CLEARLY outside of those bounds imo but there is nary a word in the mainstream media about it. I suppose Obama is going to write a book (no matter what happens) and Oprah is going to pimp it. It is the perfect marriage… and all about money/publicity (duplicty?). Oprah gets to back a black but be white… er, and black, and play both sides.. it is so damn obvious. Oprah is not stupid, but she fools most of America. This is capitalism applied to political correctness (make money off what is working in the society)
