Spain Sponsors “Boycott Israel” Ads (VIDEO); Boycott Spain

By Debbie Schlussel

I guess the Spaniards forgot what it was like to be Al-Andalus and under Muslim rule.  Now, the Spanish government is sponsoring ads urging consumers to boycott Israeli products. Once a dhimmi nation, always a dhimmi nation, I guess.

From PMW/Palestinian Media Watch:

antiisrael

Last week Palestinian Authority TV started broadcasting an ad promoting the boycott of all Israeli products. The ad is sponsored by the Spanish government, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AECID – the Spanish governmental humanitarian aid development.

The TV ad opens as a Palestinian boy enters a store and overhears a conversation. A customer informs the shopkeeper that “they’re plastering the city with advertisements about boycotting Israeli goods.” The shopkeeper argues that he has to offer Israeli goods because the Palestinian customers demand it. The customer agrees adding that “Israeli products are better than the local products.”

The shopkeeper then ask the boy him what he wants. The boy looks at the Israeli products in the store and says: “I want Israeli chips.” He takes the chips, walks to the door, and then hears gunfire, presumably from Israeli soldiers, and he decides that he will not buy Israeli goods. He looks to each side, drops the chips on the floor, returns to the shopkeeper and says: “I don’t want the Israeli product, I want the Palestinian product.”

The ad ends with this text on the screen:

Don’t prolong the occupation’s life upon our land

while displaying the logo of the Palestinian NGO Health Work Committees, followed by the logos of the ad’s sponsors:

The Spanish government, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AECID (Spanish governmental humanitarian aid development), ACSUR (a Spanish non-profit organization), and Canaan Joint Development Project for Jerusalem (Palestinian).

Hmmm . . . I guess it’s time for a boycott of Spain. Perhaps the country is not in need of pro-Israel tourists and consumers for its products.

Oh, and one other thing: even though I’m not a fan of potato chips, Israeli potato chips are delish. Palestinian potato chips probably taste like ass. The only thing the Palestinians are good at is whining and inventing new exploding devices. So maybe the Pali chip bag will blow up in your face.

Either way, this advertising campaign will blow up in Spain’s face. And it wasn’t very smart to piss off those of us who support Israel. Now, we won’t support Spain. Adios, chupa cabras.

And finally, don’t forget that the outfit running these disgusting ads is none other than the Palestinian Authority–you know, Israel’s “partners for peace.” Yeah, let’s force Israel to make peace with these boycott scumbag terrorists. That’s the ticket.

Well, there’s one other thing the Palestinian Authority is good at– getting handouts from other countries. It’s pathetic to read recent reports about how well the Palestinian ‘economy’ is doing; all their revenue comes from handouts.

So the ‘outfit’ running these ads is, at least indirectly, the United States, the Europeans, and the other countries giving aid to the Palestinian terrorists.

The nuttiest thing is these travelers — I almost throw up when I hear impressionist travelers say they’ve been to Spain, Turkey, France, etc. and rave about their experiences in these countries. Of course it is notorious when studying the left wing how blind travelers usually are to the real conditions in these countries. Turkey of all places !?!

Yup… I should also mention the EU condemned the demolition of the Shepherd Hotel. Of all the issues in the world that grabbed Baroness Ashton’s attention, the only urgent one on Sunday was that Jews have the temerity to build an apartment in Jerusalem for their fellow co-religionists. Its the only thing the dhimmi Europeans found intolerable. Well that says something as much about them as their support of the people who want to kill today’s Jews. With Spain’s ad, well, the Nazi boycott of the 1930s is so yesterday. Or is it?

NormanF on January 11, 2011 at 5:44 pm

It’s obvious from the Ad that the Palestinians have conceded that their potato chips taste “like ass” 🙂 Ditto for that nasty PLO Hummus. I’m replacing Las Vegas with Spain at the top of my boycott list.

I’ve seen quite a few Muslims in German built cars, but I’ve never seen a German in a Muslim built car.

Perhaps Israel should treat the Palestinians in the same way Spain treated the Jews during the Inquisition.

Wow, and you call yourself a real media personal? lol Israel has blockaded and boycotted Palestinian products from international exportation for decades, and your pissed off about this?

Debbie, you are a large reason why NO GOVERNMENT in the world supports Israel. With this article you have proven that you are not only a poor reporter, but a lousy human being. I’m going to post your comments all over the internet so people can see the evil that is in your heart.

Wow, you just showed your true colors. You just showed that you are not only a poor reporter and commentator, but a lousy person with a cold heart. Its a shame that people like you have a voice in America. I have been to Israel and NO ONE spews the same amount of hate and pettiness as you do. You should probably delete this article just to save your own “credibility.”

David on January 11, 2011 at 7:10 pm

Well, I guess David is not a fan of free speech — he’s like almost all Muslims.
Maybe if David and his Palestinian terrorist friends stopped trying to destroy Israel, launch terrorist attacks —

Little Al on January 11, 2011 at 7:17 pm

I’m all for free speech, but someone who states that all Palestinians are good for is whining and terrorism is in denial. Nor is it a fact that Palestinian food “taste like ass.” Debbie is acting like nothing more than a WHINING 14 year old on youtube. Palestinians are the most educated people in the Arab world. And its not Palestinians that go around trying to ban Christmas celebrations. And its not Palestinians known for bad food- its Jews.

Funny how you foolishly claim I don’t believe in free speech but then call for me to be banned from this site. I doubt Debbie has visited Israel or the Palestinian territories.

If you guys know the history of Spain, you would know that this is not the first time Spain has had it’s anti-semitism, and I’m NOT libeling Spain or anything like that. But during the Spanish Inquisition there was numerous anti-semitism against jewish people, they were forbidden to mix freely with christians and their residence restricted to certain limited quarters, etc.

And I’m assuming the Spanish government are getting those talking points from muslim countries in the middle east more likely?

Sean R. on January 11, 2011 at 7:17 pm

Spain´s government is totally anti-semitic and anti-Christian. They do not need the middle east to bolster their views. Indeed , al jazeera gives a fairer picture of Israel than the Spanish press. Spain is on the verge of collapse ( economic, financial, social and moral) and is now inviting G-D´s wrath with its boycott. Howeverm there are people here who pray for Israel´s protection and admire and love Israel and the Israelis. Yes, most of the Spaniards are ignorant sheeple who have been fooled by this corrupt and trechourous government.

David, your no different than Media Matters, Debbie is giving out the FACTS about radical islamist across the world and probably here in the states. And you have the nerve to blame Debbie instead of islamofascism, and if the islamist try to attack us one of these days, people like David will be the first targets that the islamist will go after. And I think David probably works for Media Matters, Debbie, I want you to trace David’s IP email address and ban him from this site with his lies, libel and slander against you.

Sean R. on January 11, 2011 at 7:23 pm

Something else. The battle for hearts and minds. Why would I go to Spain when I can go to Mexico? I can get killed by drug cartels closer than blown sky high by a muslim.

samurai on January 11, 2011 at 10:02 pm

The funny part is that Spain legalized same-sex marriage. Homosexuality is punishable by death in the Muslim world.

Rocky Lore on January 11, 2011 at 10:46 pm

The first excuse my English, which is the translator of google.

Spain does not support the terrorists, is Zapatero and the Socialist government.

We have the most stupid president of government in Europe. Is an idiot such as left, and an enemy of Israel. And half of Spain is as stupid as him.

I hope we can plunge into the next election. My congratulations by your blog.

Pepe on January 12, 2011 at 2:10 am

So what are the “facts” mentioned in this childish article??? lol this coming from the same woman who stated that the PFLP was an “Islamist” group, though its main support comes from Christians and was founded by Christians. Debbie is a joke, not a real political commentator.

David on January 12, 2011 at 4:37 am

Essentially, Spain is being true to both its an-Andaluz roots, as well as to its Inquisition roots. Ironically, it was Franco’s regime that was the most Jew-friendly regime that Spain ever had.

Infidel Pride on January 12, 2011 at 6:56 am

Not all from Spain are like this. The previous Prime Minister of Spain, José María Aznar López, is a founder and head of a very Pro – Israel (and anti Islamist) group in Europe. Here is their web page:

http://www.friendsofisraelinitiative.org/

Please note that Zapatero was brought in as Prime Minister of Spain by Al Queda when Al Queda blew up some trains in Madrid right before the election. The Spanish cowards moved towards appeasing Islam in the election that followed.

I_AM_ME on January 12, 2011 at 8:33 am

It is true all you say. Thank you very much.

Pepe on January 12, 2011 at 11:13 am

In Spain there are a lot of Muslims and still shaking about the terrorist attack back in 2004. Zapatero withdrawal Spanish troops from the Iraq war in a matter of minutes. Zap is more interested about giving the gay comunity whatever they want instead of fighting back terror,he doesen’t have guts, he cares about his own power and that’s it.Never trust him.

marco on January 12, 2011 at 8:35 am

David, if Palestinian’s were, as you say, brilliant(!?)…why dont their brethren countries want anything to do with them?

P.S. Q) Where does the brotherhood go when serious illness strikes their families?
A) Israeli hospitals and doctors
Also, David, the internet was a gift made in heaven for people like you!

esther on January 12, 2011 at 9:22 am

and they call this public service ads????

esther on January 12, 2011 at 9:23 am

Such hypocrites! They admit that Israeli products taste better, but…
Isn’t it interesting that everytime you see a Palestinian video everyone is overweight (for such a starving and underprivileged bunch of people). They need to get off their sofas, do some work, and get off the dole. I for one American, am sick and tired of knowing my tax dollars support Palestinians and Pakistanis.

David you have been overwhelmed with taqiya for such a considerable time that your ability to see the truth has atrophied, so much so that you remind me of a saying we have here
“Somewhere a village is missing an idiot”

The Spanish government is denying any involvement with the ad:

Channel 2 reported the following response from the Spanish government:

“‘We [the Spanish government] don’t know about a broadcast that we funded. The Spanish government logo was used without our knowledge.’ Following our inquiry (Channel 2 TV’s), the Spanish government has opened an investigation to find out exactly what happened.”
The Channel 2 news anchor ended the story telling the viewers:
“When we obtain answers [from the Spanish government], we’ll be glad to update you.”

Rocky Lore, I believe they did legalized same-sex marriage in Spain and the islamist in the muslim world are extremly intolerant of that. They kill and oppress gays & bisexuals in the muslim world, that’s a FACT, it’s not my opinion!

David, if you don’t like what Debbie is saying (which are the exact facts, something dumbass liberals like yourself refuse to acknowledge), I suggest you don’t type on this site anymore. And I have to say it again, if the radical islamofascist zealots dare attack us again, left wingers like David will be the very first targets that islamist will try to kill, and David will be demanding that folks like un on this site to save him and help him, because he refuses to open up his eyes and see reality for what it is. WAKE THE HELL UP DAVID, you are the problem and part of the problem on what’s wrong with this country today, your sure as hell are not the answer bro.

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on January 12, 2011 at 12:57 pm

Yes, of course Spain is denying any “direct” responsibility for the ad. The key word is “direct”. They happily fund Palestinian groups whose policies and intentions are hardly a secret, then deny culpability when their beneficiaries do something that embarrasses them.

As to boycotting Spain, that’s easy to do as there’s little they make that can’t be acquired elsewhere. Yes, I visited Barcelona in 1998 -nice, but why did the visitor guide provide a false translation of “Jews Park”? And I have Italian branded but made in Spain porcelain tile. But that’s it. If I want olive oil, I can buy Italian. If I want quartz kitchen surfacing, I can skip the Spanish (Silestone) and go for Israeli (Caesarstone). What else have they got?

It’s a lot tougher to genuinely boycott Israel because, as the old GE ad line said, they “bring good things to life”. High tech, medicine, agriculture, etc. I was just reading this morning about a new exotic fruit they’ve developed – the pitaya – based on a cactus from South America, but made tastier, healthier, and more beautiful. Those who selectively boycott some incidental Israeli product are ignoring the bigger truth.

Raymond in DC on January 12, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Today I just discovered that the department store The Bay removed all Ahava products from their shelves last week and returned them to the supplier and will no longer be carrying these made in Israel beauty products. I sent an email to their chairman and their president/ceo letting them know how “disappointed” I am that they succumbed to the extremists who are really against peace. I also let them know that I will be shopping elsewhere as well as a few other things. Two can play at the boycott game as long as we are as loud and pushy as the bigoted anti-Israel/anti-peace side!

Spain has a birthrate of 1.47. 2.1 is replacement. Conclusions obvious.

Occam's Tool on January 12, 2011 at 7:06 pm

I thought Spain got over its hardcore “heebie-jeebie” phase fater the Inquisition ended. Apparently, there are some renegades out there in full force.

By the way, the Franco regime was “Jew-friendly” only in relative terms. El Caudillo was militantly Catholic, and while he didn’t imbibe fully from the waters of Fascism/Nazism, he came uncomfortably close. Read historian Paul Preston’s book, “Franco.”
