HOTTT: These Men From Oklahoma Have Cojones

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Meet my new hero, Oklahoma State Rep. Rex Duncan (and some other Oklahoma legislators who followed his lead). He knows what it means to defend your country against all enemies, foreign or domestic. Thanks to reader Bob S. for sending me this:

Oklahoma lawmakers object to gift of Qurans, return their copies to advisory panel
Associated Press – October 24, 2007 2:03 PM ET
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A gift intended to promote diversity in Oklahoma is generating controversy instead.

Oklahoma State Rep. Rex Duncan: Saying No to Islamists–That’s Hot

Several state lawmakers are returning copies of the Quran to a state panel on diversity after one lawmaker claimed the Muslim holy book condones the killing of innocent people.
In a letter to colleagues, state Representative Rex Duncan says “most Oklahomans do not endorse the idea of killing innocent women and children in the name of ideology.” At least 17 other legislators have notified the Governor’s Ethnic American Advisory Council that they too will return the gift.

BINGO! They Get It.

The council’s chairwoman, herself a Muslim, is denouncing Duncan’s assessment of Islam. She says Islam not an ideology but a religion, and a “very peaceful, very inclusive” one.
In Washington, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations calls Duncan’s statement “disturbing” and “offensive.”

So sad, too bad–he offended an unindicted HAMAS-financing co-conspirator. BFD. The only thing “offensive” and “disturbing” is that there are far too few of those with the guts of these sagacious, laudable Oklahomans. I call it what it is–courageous and truth to power.
Right on, Rep. Duncan. You are a real man. There’s nothing sexier than this kind of courage. And it’s no small deal, since there is a big Muslim population in Oklahoma City.
All the PC, Islam-kowtowers throughout our governments–national, state, and local–need to learn the courage of this man. That includes the unelected and self-anointed like *ahem* YOU, Mrs. Bush . . . and your husband.
E-mail Rex Duncan to congratulate him on his courageous and gutsy move versus the Islamists.
**** UPDATE: Because of a glitch on my site, the e-mail address for Rep. Rex Duncan was not working before, but it is now. Please e-mail him to express your support. Also, some of you have asked about his background. Here’s a little bit about this true patriot with guts:
He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the OKlahoma Army National Guard, father, and self-employed attorney. More from his website:

Rex has served 28 years in the Guard, Reserves and active duty. He volunteered for active duty following 9/11 and served 16 months as a Special Forces officer with the Special Operations Command-Central. His duty assignments included Middle East and Horn of Africa. He currently serves as Battalion Commander of 2/189th Regiment, Regional Training Institute in Oklahoma City.
Awards and decorations include: Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault, Pathfinder and EIB badges and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal
POSITIONS:
Member, Global War on Terrorism Memorial Commission

*She says Islam not an ideology but a religion, and a “very peaceful, very inclusive” one.*
Oh, okay. So where in the world can any Muslim peacefully leave Islam and convert to another (truly peaceful) religion? Is there any place in the world where Muslims are a substantial minority that isn’t violent and in constant conflict because of their “peaceful,” “inclusive” presence? Thailand where thousands of peaceful Buddhists have been slaughtered in the name of Islam? Philippines where Catholics are slaughtered in the name of the moon god?
Is there any place where Muslims are a majority and the minority religions have full rights? Not even in Malaysia, which is considered a “moderate” Muslim country.
The moon god and his pedophile prophet don’t believe in “peace” or “inclusiveness.”

This is truly great. Sadly, you’ll never see this above the state level. As politicians and legislators attempt to move up to the federal levels, they dilute their message by attempting to broaden their appeal. By time they run for prez, they’re so PC and non-offensive, they are completely worthless.

spiffo on October 24, 2007 at 4:14 pm

Islam is a geo-political ideological cult – that’s what it is.
On one hand, I do think it would be useful for legislators to read the Quran, particularly Robert Spencer’s Quran blogging section on hotair. But that can all be done online – there is no need to have slaughtered trees @ home for those.
Those PC members who DO accept these Qurans – should follow up and ask for hadiths, such as Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, and siras, such as Ibn Ishaq and Tarabi. Let’s see how readily CAIR or other Jihadi outfits would want to distribute them to infidels.

Finally, someone with balls!! I’m sure that the media will do everything in their power to tear these people down. We’ve all heard the old song before, racist, bigot and Islamophobia etc.
Why isn’t anyone talking up the moon god and pedophile prophet aspect of Islam? We must crush this myth that Islam serves the same God as the Jews and Christians!!

What’s Duncan’s background, I can’t shake the feeling I have met him before.

A true profile in courage (instead of the treacherous RINO’s who usually get that award).

Ripper on October 24, 2007 at 9:18 pm

My question is where was this “inclusive diversity” before 9/11/2001? These people didn’t give a shit about Islam until New York got attacked. Now they’re bending over and grabbing their ankles trying to prove how enlightened and open-minded they are. In the end, all they do is come off like a bunch of groveling fools.

Rich B on October 24, 2007 at 9:24 pm

A hearty second to everything Debbie said. And ‘Thanks’ to everyone in Oklahoma. From the Governor, to the Representatives, to the Judges, Oklahoma just keeps getting it right on every issue. Whats up with that? Must be the great people who get out and vote. My hat’s off to everyone of you. Go, Oklahoma!

jeebie on October 24, 2007 at 10:03 pm

Rep. Duncan seems to be one of the few who get it and who are willing to stand up and say so. Congratulations to him. We need more like that!
Islam is definitely inclusive. It is a one-way-in door. It is so inclusive that no one is allowed to leave, and anyone who wants to leave is executed. It is just that inclusive! Most of us would prefer not to be included!

Dr. D on October 24, 2007 at 11:11 pm

I couldn’t believe it! I read it over and over. I wish this could be front page news across the US. What a guy! What a career and still ongoing. Rep. Duncan is a true American. He and the other 17 Oklahomans have shown outstanding backbone and courage against a horrible enemy. Hopefully by their example others in power positions will also stand up against the cult of islam and their thugs and killers. God bless Rep. Duncan, his family and his friends.

Now if only George “ROP” Bush got it.

feralcat9 on October 25, 2007 at 1:17 am

I emailed him, I told him thanks and good luck if he has national aspirations in the Republican party, those cowards will disown him faster than anybody.

steve ventry on October 25, 2007 at 2:37 am

I mailed him as well.
and I hope he’ll keep up the good work…
even if he ever would be elected for US President 😛

Wow, realists taking on idealogues.

John Cunningham on October 25, 2007 at 4:23 am

Debbie – great commentary. I sent my email to Rep. Duncan. He has some very Truman-esque balls. We need more people like that with real leadership qualities. Real leaders make decisions based on principle – and this one’s right on the mark. He and his colleagues see right through the blue smoke. That chair-woman is full of pig entrails. Islam is an ideaology, a cult, that worships a different G-d than that of Jews and Christians. They follow a guide-book for murder and mayhem and justify their actions through divine guidance. What a load of crap. I hope his act spreads across the country like a west coast bush-fire (no offense meant). Even at the local level, a national action would have a huge impact.

FreeAmerican on October 25, 2007 at 10:51 am

Thanks for heads-up on Rep. Duncan,Debbie.
I emailed him also. With those credentials & the stand he took returning the Qur’an I’d vote for him if he ever ran for nat’l office.Hell,I’d even donate to his campaign.

billybob on October 25, 2007 at 12:43 pm

Yes- a real man is right! Thank you Rep. Duncan!
Oh yeah – the RoP is real inclusive all right.
Another good point raised by Rich above is where was all this “inclusive diversity before 9/11”? They attack us & kill our people and since then we have to protect the koran? Are you kidding me? It’s absurd – everyone has to understand that they are peaceful? Who believes that? Do the leftists (all you democrats!) actually believe that or is it purely political? If they believe it, they are delusional.

CarpeDiem on October 25, 2007 at 10:37 pm

You know it took guts to be the first one to return that Koran. He’ll catch hell from the left and the right ( you know, the ones that follow the RoP dogma).
Great related article by Diana West at Townhall too.

What a great day to be a phobe, right phobes? So you got some sh*t-kickin’ redneck bible-thumpin’ phobe who won’t accept a copy of the Quran; BFD!! This good ol’ boy even flexed his fiscal responsibility muscles and inquired if any of the taxpayers’ money was used in the printing and distribution of them thayre Kooraahns. Damn the bad luck; none was. Of course when our hero gleefully accepted his Bible gift there was no such wondering about misuse of taxpayer money. Go figure. This guy is a joke and an embarrassment to the state of Oklahoma. But you phobes feel free to go on and celebrate this great victory! “A real man of courage?” He seems like he’d be more at home as one of Bud Light’s real men of genius.
[ABDUL-N: PHOBIA = HATRED OR FEAR. I HATE ‘EM & I FEAR ‘EM. SO YES, I’M A PHOBE. THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENT. DS]

abdulnasik on October 26, 2007 at 4:07 pm

Hey Abduldouchbag, I hear the call to prayer yodeling starting. It’s time to wash your feet, wipe them off on the rag you wear on your head, ans start dreaming about what you would do to the pearls of Islam.

Sandy on October 26, 2007 at 7:38 pm

Abdul –
You are an example of the irrationality and hatred produced by the Koran.
