Jewish Officials Host, Promote Israel Boycott Supporter, CAIR Official

By Debbie Schlussel

Why is the Jewish Community hosting an event (the latest of two) promoting a key supporter of the boycott on Israel?  That’s a question you need to ask the Jewish Welfare Federation, now known as the United Jewish Communities, the self-appointed bureaucracy which acts as the voice and Politburo of Jewish communities across North America.  And if you give to Federation, it’s a good reason to stop and never give again.

Jewish Community’s Robert Cohen Promotes Israel-Hating/Jew-Hating Muzammil Ahmed

Last week, the Detroit Jewish Federation hosted a free medical care event promoting Muslim doctor Muzammil Ahmed, a CAIR board member and the lead supporter of divestment from Israel on the University of Michigan campus when I was a student there.  He led divestment from Israel protests on the center of the Michigan campus and shouted anti-Semitic slogans at Jewish students (including myself) from the top of his lungs.  And now he’s on the board of an organization that raised money for HAMAS and is an unindicted co-conspirator in federal terrorism cases.

Dr. Ahmed recently wrote online asking people to condemn Israel for going into Gaza in response to repeated rocket attacks and the  continued kidnapping of soldier Gilad Schalit (see above).  He asked them to praise Imam Mohammed Elahi, who worked for Iran’s late Ayatollah Khomeini as the spiritual leader of his Iranian Navy.  Elahi is vocally anti-Semitic and anti-Israel.  He is well known as an agent of Iran and Hezbollah.

Dr. Ahmed, a urologist who is chief of surgery at Islamo-pandering Oakwood Annapolis Hospital (where my late father was on staff), also wrote an op-ed piece in the Detroit Free Press defending a Muslim doctor, doctor Jouhaineh Maleh, for committing Medicaid fraud and bringing pregnant Muslims into the United States to give their kids citizenship and use phony social security numbers to have U.S. taxpayers cover the cost.

The event, an “Interfaith Health Fair”  sponsored by the Jewish Federation, was held at a Detroit area mosque and featured Imam Abdullah El-Amin, a man who refuses to condemn HAMAS and Hezbollah (ditto for Dr. Ahmed).  The Jewish Federation co-sponsored the event with the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan, an openly pro-HAMAS/pro-Hezbollah organization, which features several imams who openly call for jihad and killing of Jews and Christians at their mosques.  Per usual, not a single Muslim in the organization will denounce Hezbollah or HAMAS.  Not one.

As I noted, this isn’t the first time Federation hosted and funded an event promoting Dr. Ahmed.  Last year, on Christmas, Federation decided to include Muslims on its “Mitzvah Day,” on which Jews help Christians–especially poor or sick Christians.  Federation actively promoted Dr. Ahmed and his family as the Muslim face of “Mitzvah Day” (“Mitzvah” means commandment in Hebrew, but it is generally used to mean “good deed.”)  In fact, Federation got the Detroit Jewish News, which it once funded, to put Dr. Ahmed and his family on its cover and in a color spread in its pages.  The ass-kissing-our-enemies Jewish Community ended Mitzvah Day at 1:00 p.m., so the devout extremist Muslims could pray to allah.  Now, the Jewish Federation is promoting Jew-hating, Israel-hating Dr. Ahmed in the pages of both The Detroit Newsistan and the Detroit Free Press.

Not surprisingly, the architect of the medical care day event was Robert Cohen, a complete hypocrite and fraud who heads the Detroit Jewish Community Relations Council, an agency funded by the Jewish Federation, which claims to speak for me and other Jews in Detroit, but actually doesn’t.  Cohen–to justify his waste-of-time, do-nothing job (which pays him over $100,000 a year in salary and benefits)–frequently hosts anti-Iran protests.  That’s funny, since he repeatedly hosts events promoting Shi’ite Muslims who support Iran and Hezbollah and whose mosques are funded and controlled by Iran.  It’s also ironic, since he knows from reading this site, that Imam Elahi, Muzammil Ahmed’s favorite imam, is an agent and open supporter of Iran and Hezbollah.

Cohen told the Free Press he wants to spend more Jewish money to promote these Jew- and Israel-haters, like his new friend, Muzammil Ahmed:

[E]vent coordinator Dr. Muzammil Ahmed said, “We’re trying to find ways to do more things together for the common good.” . . .

The event was presented by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan and the Jewish Community Relations Council.

“I expect we’ll want to do this again,” said Robert Cohen, event organizer and executive director of the council.

As you’ll recall, I’ve written about Cohen before. He’s the one who told Jewish community members to continue to pander to openly anti-Semitic Muslims just after they marched with swastikas during the Israel-Hezbollah war because, he claimed, Christians expect us to. He’s also the one who appeared at the trial of Houssein Zorkot, a Hezbollah terrorist who trained with an AK47 in a Dearbornistan park, in order to tell local reporters that we should be sensitive to the man and not condemn him.  And he said that open anti-Semite, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, wasn’t such a bad guy and hoped that Wright would “unite” people.  That’s not to mention Cohen’s statement that the Detroit Jewish community’s celebration of Israel’s 60th anniversary should be low-key and not focus on politics or “controversial” wars.  Huh?  With “Jewish leaders” like him, who the heck needs Muslims?

Yes, that moron, Robert Cohen, reads this site and has said so to several third parties.  Sadly, he reads it, but it just doesn’t sink into his thick skull.  And you know what they say about those who repeatedly do the same thing and expect different results.  Robert Cohen, the Detroit Jewish Federation, and the liberals who’ve appointed themselves to speak for me continue to promote extremist Muslims who openly hate Jews and Israel and openly express support for Iran.

And they still expect different results.  That’s the definition of insanity.  And, yes, these “wise men” who run the un-elected, self-appointed Jewish community dictatorship are insane.

They continue to promote the enemies of the Jewish people–the enemies of America–on American soil.  I suppose one Paris, one Malmo aren’t enough.

The dumbasses who run the Detroit Jewish community are well on their way to another Paris here.

I stopped supporting the Jewish organizations when they placed more emphasis on celebrating MLK’s birthday, and marking his death, then noting the anti-Semtic riots that targeted Jewish businesses in the black community.

I also stopped giving because while the community celebrated Seder Nights with black Baptist churches, these same organizations and synagogues did nothing for young Jewish singles. Similarly, the Reform movement will help minorities find employment, but refuse to establish job banks for unemployed Jews.

Now, the cause celebre is the Islamic movement.

I can’t wait until someone calls me up, asking for money.

    The American Judenrat.

Yup, it sounds like they need more dollars from American Jews to do what Israel’s enemies can’t do for themselves.

And here we thought Jews were smart.

Instead, here and in Israel they compete to show just stupid they can be.

    Oy vey!

What is it with these liberal Jews? Naivete or ignorance?

@BK. I don’t know, they are so focused on political correctness that they can’t see what’s going on. I was a liberal Jew, but no more! Every Jew who has a responsibility to see what is going on and to switch sides if on the wrong one, IMO.

And they undoubtedly put pressure on Israel to surrender in little and big ways to the Muslim countries and movements that want to destroy it (which is not meant to defend the Israeli leaders).

Sounds like “your” Mr. Cohen has been bending over and grabbing his ankles so often for these animals that were he to sit on a fire hydrant he would slide right down.

Yahoo just posted an article on “Detroit’s Unlikely Saviors.”

The liberal Jewish Community “leaders” in Detroit are cowards who are working against the interest of Jews. Top of that list is panderer and coward Arthur Horwitz who controls the Detroit Jewish News and would rather break bread with Dearbornistan anti-semties than advocate for Israel. Next is Hezbo-panderer Betsy Kellman. The list goes on and on…

Unfortunately, just following the example of the ADL.

Debbie: this sounds like the scenario that goes on here in Canada. The “Canadian Jewish Congress” which purports to speak on behalf of Canadian Jews spends more money on “Muslim Outreach” than on any real Jewish causes, such as subsidizing the astromically high tuition costs of Jewish day school, the cost of which is now beyond the reach of most middle class Jews (enrollment is down drastically in the last 10 years in
Toronto, and some schools are closing or scheduled to close despite an increase in the Jewish population).

The purported leaders of the CJC are all in bed with, and members of, the Liberal party (a polictical party) who’s leader accused Israel or committing war crimes in 2006 and 2008/9.

Fortunately, most non-establishment Jews, secular and observant, see the “offical Jews” as nothing more than the political toadies they are, and these organizations are now dependent on a few very wealthy donors for their survival (mostly those with the proper political ties).

Those Jewish groups that work against Israel and in favor of its enemies are worse than useless.

JeffE on November 15, 2010 at 10:21 pm

I find it disconcerting when Jews work against their own self-preservation.

I find it disconcerting that as a non-Jew, I am more pro-Jewish and pro-Israel than most Jews.

I find it even more alarming that many Liberal Jews I know have NO IDEA how Liberal Jews looooove to support Palestinians more than Jews. I spoke to one this weekend who was shocked to hear that religious Christians support Israel and Jews more than most Liberal Jews. She did not believe me.

It made me sad when I told her of a Liberal Jew lunatic who ran for Governor 4 years ago actually HAD openly supported HAMAS. She had voted for her and was horrified. She is Liberal but very pro-Israel…and woefully uninformed.

Being Liberal means just following your emotions and NOT doing your homework.

It never ceases to amaze me how the murder-loving Muslims can manage to get seemingly educated rational people to enter into voluntary dhimmitude with a smile on their face. It’s as if they are being hypnotized. The world has gone mad.

I agree with Debbie on this.

I have no ill-will toward my Muslim friends, neighbors and co-workers. That being said, I see no reason to endorse anti-Semitism. I tell my Muslim friends and acquaintances that I demand equal rights for Jews as citizens of America and Israel’s right as a nation amongst nations. I inform them that this is a very popular American value (just in case they hadn’t noticed). If they wish to integrate and assimilate in the United States of America, they should embrace these values regardless of any other values they hold. There is no “Yah but…” on these two basic values.

We KNOW that CAIR is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood here in America. We KNOW that the Muslim Brotherhood holds a manifest policy of anti-Semitism. There is no sense in a major Jewish organization (MJO) giving its imprimatur to a member of CAIR.

I don’t oppose good community relations with people of other religions. This certainly includes Muslims. However, if we can’t find representatives of other religions who support our civil rights as Jews in America and our natural, national rights as Jews in our ancestral land, then it is STUPID and detrimental for our MJOs to embrace people of other religions (Muslim or otherwise) who steadfastly refuse to support our most basic aspirations.

IF there were a Muslim Zionist organization, I’d gladly see one of their leaders participate in our local UJC events. Since the majority of Muslim organizations (social, political, religious or otherwise) are hostile toward Jews and (most certainly) Israel, there are few who meet basic criteria for participation in Jewish community events.

I’d like to think that there are at least a few Muslims who qualify for participation in Jewish community events. I’m not particularly optimistic in that aspiration. That’s about as nice as I can articulate it.

I realize there’s a strong desire for Detroit’s Jewish community to get along with their Muslim neighbors. I think that’s admirable. What is NOT admirable is denying the manifest anti-Semitic nature of most leaders in the Detroit Muslim community. Such denial on the part of the Detroit UJC is senseless and I’m glad Debbie called my attention to it.

Sincerely,

SHJs abound, here and abroad. Self-hating Jews, or Jews against Israel, whatever they are. The voted for Obama out of a sense of guilt. Hope they’re happy.

JeffT on November 16, 2010 at 9:40 am

This is a real simple explanation for this, and it’s not just liberal Jews, but also politicians, academicians, Catholics, etc. Many believe that Islam needs to experience its own reformation. It will never (and never is a long time) happen.

Ask yourself this, what would happen if a Imam stood up on the corner Mecca street and Medina drive and said, “Brother and sisters, The most holy prophet, Muhammad, was wrong when he said we should kill the Mushrikun (unbelievers) wherever we find them, rather, we should show love and tolerance?”

The Christian reformation was about things the Church did, not what Jesus said or did. Muhammad is on the record of saying and doing things that can never be refuted. If they did, they would gut their religion.

We Jews are often our own worst enemies. I keep hoping if I post enough of these articles that we will become a tad smarter. Thank you Debbie for your courage in writing the truth.

There is only one word for this and that is “disgusting”. Peace is just a worm on the hook used to bait hopeful liberal Jews into the trap of appeasement. Remember Assad is also a doctor and that title does not make one a lover of peace when it comes to Islam, or Israel. Check Haitham Masri rippoff.com for another incident where I made the mistake of “assuming”. Ironically the first victims of the so called “arab spring” are the same young muslims who “assumed” the Muslim Brotherhood supported them. As this is being written hijabs beards and niqbas are now mandatory in the streets of Alexandria Egypt.
