A Good Reason to Boycott Reebok

By Debbie Schlussel
A sagging athletic company can hardly afford to upset Americans by picking an actress who blamed 9/11 on America and said we deserved it. But leave it to Reebok. They picked her. Yup, I came across this ad, featuring Maggie Gyllenhaal, who, as I’ve noted on this site several times, said:

Because I think America has done reprehensible things and is responsible in some way.

First, a 9/11 movie about the victims, then American Airlines and its in-flight magazine, now Reebok. Is there anyone who won’t ignore Maggie Gyllenhaal’s outrageous comments and take her to task for them? The ad says, “I Am What I Am,” which in this case is an America hater. That’s exactly what she is.

Because I think Reebok has done reprehensible things by hiring this wretched woman as a spokeswoman and is irresponsible in many ways.

Looks like they’ve airbrushed out her absurd statement along with the massive airbrushing out of her homeliness in this silly ad.
Since Reebok chose this woman, we can only assume the company agrees with her statement about America and 9/11. If it does not, it wouldn’t have–and shouldn’t have–hired her.

I have stood up and taken action against Reebok. I suggest you do the same. Keep up the Good work Debbie!
“Since you have picked the “Blame America First” B-List Actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal, to represent your new campaign “I AM WHAT I AM”, I will be throwing away all my reebok shoes, shirts and all Reebok branded crap.
How Could you give one penny to that yellowbelly actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal.
I will inform all of my patriotic, athletic and military friends, of your companies poor decision to put that traitor in your ad campaign.
If I don’t get a letter confirming and acknowlegding my concerns, I will boycott ADIDAS next.
thank you”

Why do they keep shoving her down our throats? She reminds me of “Droopy” the dog from the old Tom and Jerry cartoons. When will she go away? Her personality makes her even uglier. I won’t buy Addidas anymore.

I never heard of her in my life, and I guarantee you I’ll forget who she is 5 minutes after I post this. But the impulse to buy Reebok shoes will be with me for weeks!

ìI am what I amî in FRAKTUR!
ISLAMOFASCISTÖyes!!
HATE AMERICA monger also!!
And a Nazi too? Waffen-SS?
SINCE Islamofascism is IDEOLOGICALLY related to NAZISMÖthe usage of THIS PARTICULAR, lowercase, traditional, GERMAN FONT (FRAKTUR) used right here, in this ad, alongside Herr Fraulein Maggie GyllenhaalÖseems so appropriate.
But it isnít!
HITLER YOUTH could reproduce the cursive of the labour-intensive FRAKTUR and everywhere in print, on TV, or in the movies, FRAKTUR will always be associated with Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich and NAZI BRANDING!
Forever.
Fraktur CANNOT be saved.
Use it and all that is conjured up are remembrances of NAZI GERMANY.
So REEBOKÖwhatÖWHAT were you thinkingÖusing some ìrevised versionî of Fraktur in your ads?
Really REEBOKÖwhat are you trying to say?
GOOD GRIEFÖdoesnít anyone vet these ads before their public release?
ADS are just too well thought out for this usage to just be an ìaccidentî. NEXT TIME donít use an amateur ad agency overrun with skinheads and their love of Nazi lore~
WE ALL remember MICROSOFTíS reaction when they ìdiscoveredî a NAZI SYMBOL, and therefore a potential platform for Neo-Nazi ìbrandingî, within the Bookshelf Symbol 7 font, which was included at the time with Microsoft Office 2003. They removed it with a special ìCritical Updateî sent out to SYS ADMINS.
(SEE: http://www.tylerbutler.com/rants/Pages/NoMoreNaziFonts.aspx Good screen captures to illustrate this occurrence!)
WHY MICROSOFT also removed the Star of DavidÖwithin the very same update, we may never know. Likely, AGITATED MUSLIM manipulation at the time.
REEBOKÖremove the Maggie ads.
Strike one: She hates America and excuses Muslim terrorism!
Strike two: She is VERY ugly.
Strike three: Usage of a Nazi-era font and all that conjures up!
THAT AD is outtaí there~
(Sorry Debbie for the lengthy comment, but seeing that NAZI FONT really, really, set me off.)

The Canadien…
TYPING like THIS doesn’t do much to HELP your POINT, it just makes it VERY HARD to take what you say SERIOUSLY and is BORDERLINE SEIZURE INDUCING. PLEASE either TAPE your PINKY to your RING FINGER or JUST TYPE IN ALL CAPS IN THE FIRST PLACE. to SAVE US ALL from the HEADACHE that you cause when TYPING like THAT.

Calling Maggie Gyllenhaal ‘ugly’ is just the politics talking. She may be ugly on the inside but she’s really hot on the outside!

I don’t condone in any form, and what happened with 9/11 is a tragedy. I, as a person outside of America, who is not overcome with emotions concerning the event, look at the events surrounding the 9/11 tragedy and don’t see a whole lot of difference between Afghanistan/Iraq terrorists and American politicians. Almost 3,000 people died in the falling of the towers. More than 3,300 Americans have died in the war in Iraq since 9/11. American politicians are responsible for more American deaths than what the terrorists have claimed.
I am also confused as to why Bin Laden was so quickly forgotten and American troops were dispatched to Iraq. Wasn’t Bin Laden’s terrorists responsible for 9/11 not Saddam? Bin Laden still lives.
What about all the innocent people in Iraq who are being shot and bombed because of a war they took no part in?
Another question to think on is, why would terrorists want to attack America? It seems where ever there is fighting in the world, there is American soldiers.
I don’t agree with terrorism, but I don’t agree with unnecessary wars either.

Another reason to boycott Reebok is Floyd Mayweather Jr. He’s a professional boxer known for his racial tirades against Asians on Youtube. Why Reebok keep this individual, I don’t know but he’s not a good role model to all people. Bottom line here is we don’t need racist people like Floyd Mayweather Jr. on every Reebok advertisements.
