You know—some of this is so “painful” to watch–because it gets that asinine. I hired a gal who was a seething caldron of this kind of “crap” once–proud at first that I was trying to be an EOE. Then, the nicer I tried to be, it was always twisted that I was really against her. When she quit it was in a huff for a silly reason–you knew she was going to throw some crap at you on the back end. At unemployment, and other places ANYONE can allege a discrimination complaint. Fortunately it is all in the rear view mirror–but–the moral of the story is–
I will be 3 times more picky on the front end in any future hiring decision than I have ever been.
I recall when Tyrone Willingham was canned at Notre Dame. Some liberal morons were asking him to file discrimination suits against ND (even though he couldn’t get the W’s).
I saw it in your former home public school district, Debbie, where a race based hiring decision was made to bring in some minority that was not qualified. After making a big mess–the district had to settle with the canned administrator in order to avoid being dragged into court. Besides all that mess, the district had to then find a courageous candidate to take on all the quota based hirees and policy results which was tanking the student academics. All courtesy of local liberal socialist elites and their “good intentions.”
It amazes me that U-M President Mary Sue Coleman is using the By Any Means Possible PAC money to sue the State in Federal Court over proposal 2 which bans quotas being used in Michigan hiring and enrollment decisions. The libs say they want the will of the people (unless the people speak contrary to what they want). Coleman, despite being whipped by 20 points at the polls–and even though she outspent Jennifer Gratz and company by over 2-1–Coleman says the people were DECEIVED! You see Debbie that’s it–we are so gullible.
I love the socialist state of Michigan!!!
