Can’t Afford Your Kids’ College? You’re Funding Palestinian Kids’ Scholarships
*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ***
Having trouble making ends meet and helping your kids’ pay for college? Perhaps you should tell the State Department that you’re a Palestinian. Then, it’s all taken care of up through the Ph.D. level.

It’s bad enough that this program exists. Sadly, though, it’s not new. It’s been going on for years. And you’re payin’ for it. And not just for Palestinian students, but students all over the Muslim world. Hey, who cares if you’re breaking your back to pay Uncle Sam? They’re laughing at you all the way to the (West) Bank. Oh, and by the way, this is yet another program beefed up by President Bush, while Obama continues it.
From the P.L.O. News Agency, WAFA (thanks to Dr. Aaron Lerner/IMRA for the tip):
Sending Palestinian Student Delegation to US
JERICHO, August 3, 2010 (WAFA)- The U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem and AMIDEAST met with a group of 55 students in Jericho to prepare them for travel to the United States.
The students included Palestinians from the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and over 20 from the Gaza Strip. The students will be participating in programs funded by the U.S. Department of State, including the Fulbright program, which fully funds study for M.A. or PhD degrees at American universities, and the YES program, which supports one year of study at American high schools.
The U.S. Consul for Press and Public Affairs, Frank Finver, welcomed the students, telling them that, “These programs will help you to develop your abilities and to realize your dreams and ambitions in order to help build the future state of Palestine.” Mr. Finver mentioned that the U.S. Consulate General sends more than 250 students every year to the United States on programs supported by the U.S. Department of State. Three hundred and sixty two Palestinians studied in the United States during the 2009 academic year, a number which the U.S. Government hopes to increase significantly in the coming years in line with President Obama’s desire for increased cultural and educational exchange between the United States and the Middle East.
AMIDEAST Country Director Steve Keller also spoke to the group, noting that AMIDEAST offices can provide information on other U.S. study opportunities and administer a number of programs for Palestinians, including the U.S. Department of State-supported Access Microscholarships program (Access), which provides teenagers with free English language instruction.
As I said, this has been going on for years, since it was dreamed up by President Bush’s minions as a way to show the Islamic world just how much we care . . . and how much we want to grovel to our sworn enemies. Yup, the “counterterrorism President,” Bush. Sorry, but while I want Obama out, I’ll never miss Bush the Islamo-panderer. Not a chance. The photo above features students on the program, who visited with Michigan career politician and RINO Republican sleazebag State Senator Nancy Cassis (Memo to Nancy: there is no Palestine), while they were here on the same program in 2008:
State Sen. Nancy Cassis, R-Novi, On December 10 2008, welcomed to the state Capitol seven foreign exchange students who received Youth Exchange and Study scholarships from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The students are part of the Youth for Understanding program to help build positive relationships between the U.S. and countries of the Arab and Muslim world. Pictured are Sandy Hatoum from Lebanon, living in Novi; Ayad Amer from Yemen, living in Troy; Nisa Mehr-Un from Pakistan, living in West Bloomfield; Reem Sharha from Palestine, living in West Bloomfield; Adi Wakid from Israel, living in Lake Orion; Andreas Daad from Denmark, living in West Bloomfield; and Ramshah Bukhari from Pakistan, living in Ann Arbor. Your tax dollars at work. You can’t afford to send your own kids to college. But the gubmint says you can afford to send kids of HAMAS terrorists and terrorism supporters. Only in America, baby.
**** UPDATE: A reader writes:
I grew up with Frank Finver. His mother, still living in Chevy Chase, was and remains an extreme leftist, and belonged to “peace” groups which were anti-Israel. Put another way, crudely, she was a complete and total s***head.
Frank Finver has been in the Foreign Service for 30 years. I remember bumping into him in Israel. Either his mother rubbed off on him, or he became a clone of the State Department.
Apparently.
