Originally, this is the politically correct version of Wonderwoman. Not of those nasty Stars and Stripes, or great Red, White, & Blue colors that identified her as an American Patriot. Not in the post-patriotic age.

You’re absolutely right about the patriotic theme of Wonder Woman being taken out of the new version. Is this new incarnation a hollyweird version? If so then it makes sense, Libtards being anti-American and all. I could see an updated, fresh look to the standard outfit, but to make it dark, gritty, “graphic novelesk” is just sad…. Like you said, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Someone wrote in the Washington Post(of all places) that Obama is the first female President.

Well, there is support for this position.

He has no balls when dealing with adversaries.

When he does not get his way, he gets pouts and gets moody, like he is on his period.

He gets wet around foreign dictators like King Saud.

Whether straight, lesbian or bi-sexual, Wonder Woman shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence with Michele Obama. Wonder Woman isn’t real of course, but M. Obama is…just real ugly. Even though she’s married to that Lying, decieving muslim a-hole we suffer as potus, I wondered how they managed to have children. I think Barak makes her wear a burka to bed.

I agree with you 100% Debbie & as you have in the past dealt with comics-related issues (I’m a diehard comics fan), I’m so glad you addressed this issue.

I personally don’t care for WW’s “new look” either, for all the reasons you’ve given, plus 2 more: (1) She no longer looks unique, immediately identifiable as WW anymore; instead, she looks like any one of several dozen generic knock-off immediately forgettable comics characters from any one of several dozen also-ran generic, immediately forgettable comics series. (***Yawn***, in other words..) And (2) Her Original, “Classic” outfit was undeniably, partiotically American. The new look clearly is not. Presumably, the artist who came up with the new look (and the numbskull who thought WW’s look needed updating) has little regard for such things as “patriotism” and “Americanism”, (as does our current Prez, needless to say), apparently believes they’re somehow old-fashioned & out of date. If so, what a sad, deplorable message to send to the new, young comics-readers of today. If anything, we need patriotism now more than ever.

I personally hope this “new look” backfires on DC, the way it did when they tries to update “Superman’s” look a few years ago (at which time they quickly learned: You don’t tug on Superman’s cape!) That way, they can switch back to the “Classic” look (the sooner the better.)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Wonder Woman looking sexy which she certainly does in her new costume, much more than before. It’s also true that Wonder Woman is competing with other comics such as FemForce who have very sexy-looking heroines, so part of it may be survival many of the readers are men.

PC is nothing new to Wonder Woman analysis. She has appealed to feminists ever since her inception around 1940, and her popularity dovetailed with the increasing roles open to women during World War II. I really didn’t know until a few years ago that in the 70s Gloria Steinem helped edit an anthology of Wonder Woman stories from the Golden Age in the 40s, and other feminists collaborated with Steinem in this project. Yes, her early stories were pro-American, as was her red, white and blue costume, although like all DC publications, liberalism was smuggled into her stories.

If they really want to “redesign” Wonder Woman, they need to employ the services of Boris Vallejo. Forget this gothic PC un-feminine crap.

I just hope they keep the invisible airplane. I know it’s against Liberal philosophy to give the good guys an advantage, tactical or otherwise.

I think this was the second time they tried to update Wonder Woman’s “look”; the first time (which likewise bombed, and deservedly so) was in the late 1960’s/early ’70’s, during the “bra burning” craze.

I always loved WW. Having a Mom who was also a doctor, it was no big deal that WW had a career and was capable. It was also the era of Dale Evans, who, you’ll remember, opened the show riding hard on Ol’ Buttermilk firing her six-shooter. There was also an Annie Oakley series in the 50’s. Forget who the actress was.
WW was white but her hair was black and in an era when I refused to play with dolls because they were ALL blond, that was something I could relate to. Sorry Debbie, but I don’t get the “blond” thing if it’s not natural.
I tried a blond wig once and it was hideous with my skin color so Blonds don’t always have more fun. I did just fine with my natural chestnut naturally highlighted with red.
My only question was how did WW keep her costume on when she was fighting bad guys? Did they have double stick tape back then?

Have to take the American out of Wonder Woman just as they did with the gay superman in the last horrific movie. In that movie they turned Superman in to a beer drinking stalking ex boyfriend. Perry White even dropped the American ball when saying “Does he still stand for truth, justice and that other stuff”
oh and their have been rumors floating for over a year that Beyonce wants and is being considered to play Wonder Woman in a new movie. So at least Wonder Woman would then become more American again as Affirmative Action Woman.
