At this point Israel is planning on delivering that aid to Gaza. If the occupants of the ship truly had humanitarian goals in mind, they would have just turned the ship over. These people clearly did not want to help the people of Gaza, they wanted either confrontation with Israel, or to deliver supplies to Hamas.

What do you think would happen to a flotilla of Israeli ships or convoys that sought to enter a Muslim country to provide aid to Jewish people who had the misfortune to still be living there? Would they just be allowed to go there? If they were very, very lucky, their packages would be carefully inspected and delivered by the Muslim authorities.

That said, Israel did make a mistake. They boarded the boats while they were in international waters. They should have waited until the boats entered Israeli waters … and then sunk them. (I suppose the “comprehensive immigration reform” people who consider the fact that we have a border to be “racist” are “citizens of the world” and reject this idea. Well that means that you also don’t agree with private property rights, so anyone who wants to come inside you house at any time can. Now I may be getting duped again. On another liberal blog that I was redirected to from Huffington Post, the commenters were claiming that it was “international waters” because Israel has no legal right to control Gaza’s waterways … that they are Palestinian waterways or occupied waterways or whatever.

So, if I am being duped by dishonest propaganda, I say that Israel should have sunk the ships. But if the aggressor ships (which is what they were, even calling it a “peace convoy” shows bias) were ACTUALLY still in international waters proper, then Israel allowed itself to be baited into a major PR gaffe by simply not waiting a few hours.

P.S. Sinking the ships would have also prevented those IDF soldiers from getting assaulted and injured.

It is embarrassing to have to say something so elementary, but this is typical of terrorist tactics. Just like the terrorists shoot rockets from civilian locations, so if Israel wants to defend itself against rockets, sometimes civilians unfortunate enough to stay there (or forced to stay there to become involuntary martyrs) do suffer casualties. The naive and not-so-naive people on this convoy, including European parliament members (and remember the European parliament members are in large numbers, terrorists or terrorism-supporters) are serving the ends of the terrorists just like those civilians (to the extent they actually are civilians) in the houses where the rockets are being shot from.

I guess Jimmy Carter missed the boat on this one; I’m sure he’ll try to make up for lost time. But of course people like Carter are always willing to sacrifice others for their cause, never themselves.

While that was the original plan, we lost our way in this regard a long time ago. Rather than weakening, isolating, and dividing our Muslim enemies, we have instead been funneling billions into the lands and governments of those who will forever hate us for being infidels – building infrastructure, schools (read: madrassas, where the toxic ideology of Islam and its juridical offshoot, Shari’a, receive paramount emphasis), even mosques. Years have passed, with the objective of “standing down” while the infidel-trained and infidel-equipped Muslim police and armed forces gradually assume control, postponed, pushed back, again and again, with the Karzais and the Malikis assuring us that the day will indeed come when we can leave, provided that our infidel largesse in the form of endless aid – money, materiel, etc. – is in no danger of being reduced, or, Allah forbid, discontinued altogether. And let us not forget the billions in aid given to our Muslim allies – notably Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, who need our aid so that these moderate regimes can remain stable and able to fight the “Islamists” who wish to unseat them and make these countries even more Muslim and more theocratically pure than they currently are.

How deluded, how self-destructive we are. Already more than a thousand American deaths in Afghanistan. For what?
