Islamic Terrorist Writes Me: Will Ibrahim Parlak Finally be Deported?

By Debbie Schlussel

Today, I got an interesting e-mail, below, from Ibrahim Parlak, an Islamic terrorist whom the government has been trying to deport for years. Parlak has developed a cadre of lefty celeb supporters, including Roger Ebert (who used a movie review to criticize me over Parlak). A James Bond director is even making a propaganda movie about him.

Hi Debbie

DHS Detroit office ask me to go see them June 1st. Your wish might finely be granted. and you better start looking for some thing other then Ibrahim to make you popular.

It’s unfortunate that Ibrahim believes his own press. But he was never what made my site popular, and I haven’t written about him in a while. His tale has never drawn a lot of traffic. I wrote about him because it’s an important story of the failure of our immigration system.

The thing is, Parlak should have been deported long ago.  And while his e-mail gives hope, slimy liberal Republican Fred Upton and far-left Democrat U.S. Senator Carl Levin repeatedly introduce “private bills” to grant Parlak citizenship.  That move usually stays deportation, so I’m not sure what’s going on here.

I’ve written a lot over the years about Parlak, currently a U.S. resident.  The man trained in Syrian and Lebanese Islamic terrorist training camps.  He was a member of the PKK terrorist group.  Yes, he’s a Kurd.  But while many Kurds are good people, some are not.  It’s more nuanced than, “All Kurds are the good guys.”  This guy isn’t.  And while I have no love for the Turks (they could all die, and I wouldn’t miss ’em, since their once secular country has gone uber-Muslim), Parlak was involved in the murder of a Turkish border guard.

Parlak is a liar and he’s allied with some of the most extremist Muslims (redundant phrase).  He came here and filled out at least five government applications in which he neither disclosed his PKK involvement, training in Islamic terrorist training camps, or his involvement with the border guard’s death.  Then he took the usual route:  he had an anchor baby with a woman he never married and opened a Middle Eastern restaurant (Cafe Gulistan) in Western Michigan.  His thrice-disciplined attorney, Noel Saleh, is a Palestinian and, himself, an admitted monetary donor to Hezbollah.  Saleh headed a Muslim-dominated Arab welfare agency, which aids and abets Muslim illegal aliens and helps pregnant Muslim aliens defraud Medicaid and have anchor babies here.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) has worked hard to remove Parlak from the country.  But they’ve met with resistance from celebrities, politicians, and the mainstream media (including sympathetic “Nightline” and New York Times Magazine portrayals) every step of the way.  This is despite the fact that the Immigration Judge Elizabeth Hacker wrote in a 60-page decision that Parlak is an Islamic terrorist and documented many of his transgressions.  Then, the Bureau of Immigration Appeals court affirmed her decision, and so did the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Through most of this, the Bush Administration pressured Homeland Security officials to treat Parlak with kid gloves, giving him lax reporting requirements and allowing him to keep his restaurant open for business.  Parlak also couldn’t be deported because of the private bills Upton and Levin introduced.  Last week, Parlak was even invited to testify before the Michigan Senate, where he has no business being. But sleazy Republican State Senator Ron Jelinek introduced a resolution to keep this terrorist on U.S. soil. (Yup, Michigan is sadly the anti-Arizona, with Republicans leading the charge.)

I hope Parlak will finally be sent away.  But I’m not holding my breath.  And it’s ridiculous how long he’s been allowed to stay and how nicely he’s been treated.  It sends the wrong message, a message that has wreaked havoc on this country and forced Arizona to enforce the law and get rid of people like Parlak quickly.

Parlak literally has spent years gaming the system.  If we have to go through the same trouble and expense for every illegal alien or even a significant fraction, we will never get the illegal alien problem under control.  Sadly, we do have to go through it for far too many illegal aliens, and that’s part of why many of them are still here.  They laugh at us, play games, and get away with it.

I wish I could say “Game Over,” regarding Parlak.  But I think it may be more wishful thinking.  The people at Homeland Security may actually tell Parlak he can stay.

I do think he will be allowed to stay. Our dhimmi politicians and media want to kiss up to a Muslim – the politically correct thing to do.

If Ibrahim Parlak had been any one else, he would have been deported a long time ago.

And yes, its the wrong message to send to America.

Debbie, its been five years since you first wrote about it. And he’s still here.

I’d love you to tell me my prediction is wrong. But since you even had to ask the question, I think that is its own answer on this guy.

NormanF on May 27, 2010 at 3:01 pm

Holy cow! It’s been that long? I’ve been a stay at home mom for going on 5 years now. Wow.

Anyway, I worked with a woman who had a Free Ibrahim mug on her desk. All I heard was the “He’s so nice, he has a business and a daughter, gubment is screwing him over…” I wonder if she ever figured out the real story. Probably not.

I’m old school…my imagination is waaay too active today.
Thanks for continued peeling of the onion DS.
Hope you & yours are well.

You are of your father, the devil. You are deceived and deluded.

Enjoy your just reward in the after life. You have earned it.

There is NO ONE like Debbie! I can’t believe how long it took me to find a fact-based, no nonsense person to give it to me straight! Red Cross, Vannity, various politicians that I thought were “conservatives” like me, and the list just seems endless. Thank you Debbie, and may you be eternally blessed and protected from all of those who attack you!

If Janet Napolitano (and her boss, Obozo) has anything to do with it, you’re screwed- just like the rest of us.

shariasucks on May 27, 2010 at 3:28 pm

Actually its Bush – and the Republicans who made it possible for him to stay here. Obama and the Democrats are simply taking their Islamopandering policies to their logical conclusion.

Where were you five years ago when you could have done something to have him removed from this country?

A lot of conservatives have ideological blinders on when it comes to pro-Islam policies on the Right.

NormanF on May 27, 2010 at 3:38 pm

‘It’s more nuanced than, “All Kurds are the good guys.” This guy isn’t. And while I have no love for the Turks (they could all die, and I wouldn’t miss ‘em, since their once secular country has gone uber-Muslim)’

This is all highly ironic, considering your view of Muslims as all bad people. To call for more nuance when looking at one particular group while at the same time writing off the entire country of Turkey as deserving of death is ludicrous.

Ragnar on May 27, 2010 at 3:50 pm

“entire country of Turkey as deserving of death is ludicrous”

i think the armenians would disagree with you…

howardroark on May 27, 2010 at 4:17 pm

Islamists ARE bad guys. There are no good Islamists. Name ONE that is pro-Israel or pro-Western.

And they’d kill us all – if they could.

NormanF on May 27, 2010 at 3:54 pm

I say TROLLING! ALL the people is troolling… ONE troll.. for just one dream…

Fock on May 27, 2010 at 3:59 pm

Kurd is only 10 letters away from being Turd…

howardroark on May 27, 2010 at 4:15 pm

You know – a private bill in and of itself does not stay an order of removal. ICE (when it was legacy INS) made a devils agreement with congress saying that when a bill gets to committee an individuals removal will be stayed to give the bill some time to pass. Every two years an election occurs. You can count on your fingers and toes the number of private bills that have passed allowing a person to stay. However, congressmen put forth these garbage bills for the same individuals every other year (in allignment with election cycles) only succeeding to defer the removal indefinitely. The person in the meantime gets all the work authorization they want. Time for this devil’s agreement to disappear. Two bites at the apple should be the limit. If congress can’t pass a private bill in 4 years – its time for these people to go back to the place they came from. However, until ICE advises congress of this – these warped shamnesties will continue.

belugajedi on May 27, 2010 at 5:27 pm

Pro-Israel and Pro-Western does not, in and of itself, signify a good person. There are good Muslims and bad Muslims, good Israelis and bad Israelis, good people and bad people. It doesn’t matter where they’re from. That you would think otherwise in anyway is fucking stupid.

As to the Armenians, yeah, Turkey’s government presided over a genocide, that doesn’t mean that every Turk is horrible.

Ragnar on May 27, 2010 at 6:45 pm

And also, NormanF, clamoring for the destruction of all Islamists under a pretext of “they’ll kill us all” is also highly ironic.
“Maybe we should just put them all in camps, like, so they’re concentrated in one spot…?”

Ragnar on May 27, 2010 at 6:48 pm

And would you wait to see if they won’t act on their intentions? History has given us advance warning.

Those who forget the past are condemned to relive it.

NormanF on May 27, 2010 at 6:54 pm

Reminds me of the wacko Philadelphia cop-killer Mumia abu-Jamal (nice American name) who in spite of unassailable witnesses against him, has also managed to gain the support of mentally-impaired celebrities.

Little Al on May 27, 2010 at 7:46 pm

The only liar is you, Debbie. With a name like Schlussel, consider yourself lucky that you haven’t been deported. The same five people posting hateful rants over and over on your site doesn’t an audience make, so I’d hardly say you were ever “popular” (delusional maybe). You called Republicans Fred Upton & Ron Jelinek “sleazy”. Come on Debbie, is that all you’ve got? Looks like you’ve lost your juice. P.S. I’m beginning to think you’ve got an uber-crush on Ibrahim Parlak.

J Smith on May 27, 2010 at 11:59 pm

Not all Republicans are tough on Islam. Like I said, its a bipartisan affliction to not want to deal honestly with the danger. The difference is Debbie doesn’t give those who pander to Islam a pass simply because they have the “R” beside their name.

    Wake the heck up!

NormanF on May 28, 2010 at 5:50 am

jsmith, we don’t deport illegal aliens, criminals, terrorists, why would we deport debbie an honorable american national treasure? NOW who is loosing her juice? huh, huh, huh?

h bil on May 28, 2010 at 1:58 am

You zionists are terrorist, we muslims respect Jews. You’ve been killing us everyday, killing our babies, and if we defend ourselves from your unmercy, then u call us terrorists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats Rima Fakih you’re the Queen.
Debbie dnt be jealous and dnt discriminate 🙂
PS: If u really know ur religious and ours (Shiite) u’ll figure out that its exactly the same 🙂
Zionists are terrorists that follow The Demon. But jews are good ppl we have to respect, as u have to respect Muslims 🙂

But then it doesn’t take much to be an Islamo-Nazi troll.

    Bye!

Debbie : I worked with Immigration for 17 years and I agree with you the Agency is sadly confused about its role in American government. However, there are 1 Billion Muslims in this world. Making war on all Muslims because of the 1% who wish to kill us makes no sense. I was in and out of Yugoslavia many times helping Albanian Muslims and found them to be very pleasant people.

Years ago My Rabbi made Aliyah and has since devoted himself to forging strong ties with Arab neighbors in the West Bank. I think he sets a fine example for all Jews.

Barry on May 28, 2010 at 9:48 am

Barry, I think u make a great example of why the west is losing it’s war on terror. No balls.

Debbie, what makes anyone think deporting anyone will solve anything. Doesn’t it just allow them to try to get here again illegally in the future? The last illegal mexican to get some ink that raped a woman had been deported 9 times. Prison in a penal colony is the only thing to really work. Until we create one a fed prison will be the only thing to work.

J Smith is almost as imaginative a name as anonymous. Is it Joe or John?

The Terrorist's Advocate on May 28, 2010 at 11:14 am

Uhhhh, how about none of your damn business, Mr. Advocate. Yours is pretty objectionable. At least “samurai” had some honor code to them. All that bushido stuff.

samurai on May 28, 2010 at 3:23 pm

Who is Ibrahim? A scientist? An artist? A politician ???
Answer : NONE. HE IS A TERRORIST WHO KILLED TURKISH SOLDIERS…
What would be the response of his supporters if Bin Ladin was allowed to stay in another country and not given to justice in US??
The nonsense is ; a lot of people in the area would do anything to keep him in US……
His restaurant ; can’t be even called a restaurant. If you see how he dresses ,if you see his dirty plates….
Church is his biggest support. Ok guys don’t worry He will cook more free food for you. ….

Jess on June 9, 2010 at 11:38 pm

I understand you’re a writer and you have a right to free speach. However, you Debbie Schussel are a cold hearted b*tch. You know WHY those people stand behing Ibrahem Parlak?? Because they KNOW HIM. Have you ever met him? How do you KNOW exactly what happened over in another country?? Perhaps he had to help kill a guard because he himself was about to be killed. I personally know Ibrahem and I have never ONCE heard or seen him do anything even slightly bad. He is a wonderful man, boss, and is always giving back to the community. You should be ashamed of yourself for accusing a person you dont know based off of where he comes from. Last I checked we couldnt pick where we were born.

Jessica89 on September 7, 2010 at 5:14 pm

Calling this guy a terrorist would be like calling Thomas Jefferson a terrorist who wrote the “Declaration of Independence” as an extremist manifesto. That document in plain words expresses what people must do, which is to “throw off their gov’t” if it abuses the people.

But Thomas Jefferson isn’t a terrorist or a revolutionary to us because he was on our side.

Well, Parlak was indeed involved in the PKK, but that was before 1992. It was only in 1997 that they were declared a terrorist organization to us, and then it was 7 years after that that we lazily decided to waste money and resources burdening this guy’s life.

He was a freedom-fighter defending his people not only from the Turks, but from the despotic Iraqi regime as well. The Kurds were gassed by Saddam, and many of them received political asylum after the first Gulf War.

Yes, he was involved in crimes back home and yes, he didn’t report that he had been charged with those crimes. However, how does this make him a terrorist and how does this make him a threat to us?

The guy, like so many others, came here to live quiet peaceful lives, settle down with their families, run a business, make good food that people like to eat.

Going after people who actually pose a threat to us is the right thing to do, but completely blowing it on going after a guy who was listed in a group that was a close ally to us and who got asylum from us only to retro-actively call that group a terrorist group and then pull a 180 on the guy is such a waste of our time and resources.

The Ibrahim Parlak’s in the US are not the people we need to be worrying about, but you can’t tell that to some conservatives, who think they know everything because they’re loud.

Parlak is no different than any of the founding fathers who saw fit to defend themselves from tyranny and despotic regimes that were making sure to oppress and kill Kurdish people.

Get some friggin’ perspective, conservatives.

Jason Marcel on November 24, 2010 at 4:20 am

Holy cow, lady, you actually wrote that you wished EVERYONE in Turkey would die! SHONDE!!!

Also, the PKK is Marxist-Leninist and stridently anti-Islamist, to the point where they fight with Kurdish Islamist groups. Calling him an Islamic terrorist would be like calling Leon Trotsky a Jewish terrorist.

Moishe PIppick on November 23, 2011 at 10:50 am

and just how exactly can you consider Turkey ‘uber-Muslim’? Go there and buy some Turkish made hardcore pornography and enjoy while drinking a Turkish beer!

Moishe PIppick on November 23, 2011 at 10:56 am

Wow..Debbie? I’m an American guy from Michigan..oot of Swedish American in that area and Im one of em….from the small town where Ibrahim has his restaurant. I grew up there on our family farm. I’ve known Ibrahim every since he’s been living in Harbert..my Sister worked for him. He’s one of THE best people know, period. When he came here it was tough for him..lot of people were rough on him..now everyone loves the guy. I don’t know how you could make such nasty judgements on him. It would be really sad if he had to leave. he does a lot for everyone and is a generous stand up guy.
