Affirmative Action for Fish?

By Debbie Schlussel
A New York Times article, decrying the lack of variety of fish in the ocean, goes on and on about a loss of “fish diversity.” The word, “diversity,” appears in the brief article TWELVE times.
The word “diversity” is also the constant excuse for discrimination against whites and males in the name of racial, ethnic, and gender preferences, also known as “affirmative action.” Gee, maybe they should have fish affirmative action? But that’s not the way nature works. Or the way government and business should work, either.

One Response

Is diversity really an important quality……Japan is not a very diverse country, yet it is one of the most wonderful places to live. Brazil is a very diverse place yet it is a third world cesspool.
I just dont understand, are we a great nation because of our diversity, or in spite of it?
Why has diversity become so important that we are importing everyone from around the southern hemishere into our country? And how many Pakistanis should we import to satisfy the New York Times?
