I will most likely donate to this site, for although I am pretty much diametrically opposed to Debbie on many issues, the Freedom of Speech, and the right to state your opinion is to me more important than perhaps even the opinion itself.
I find it troubling that both the Hebrews and Muslims on this site feel compelled to lambast each other rather than discuss the issues. Issues that need to be discussed for in this land we have adherents of both faiths, equally patriotic, and equally derserving of respect. One most always remember that we have both “AMERICAN” Muslims and Jews in this land, who may be at odds theologically, but united in support for this land.
Ms Schlussel, you perhaps use a bit much rhetotic and incendiary comments than I would prefer, but at times I think you use that language to spur discussion rather than limit it.

And to those of both faiths who seem to use this forum as an arean to insult each other, remember when the day is done, and worship is finished we are each Americans, deserving on equal civility.

Sean, if a nation is defined by it’s culture than perhaps that is why it is so difficult to “define” American, for we encompass so many cultures. From the Michigan Muslim, to the Southern Baptists, to the Pennsylvania Almish, to the Boston Catholic………..and so on. So many cultures, so many languages.
Plus please remember the “inherent” culture of this land, that belonging to the Native American, was almost rendered extinct by new immigrants enforcing their “culture” over those who were already here. Not wishing to live in the past, what is done is done, but one should realize that an “American Culture” is just like an “American Citizen”, meaning generally an amalgam of all cultures, faiths, and ideas found in this world. And as such we should recognize the impact of all cultures who have contributed to our history.
