How can they portray her as Debbie Schlussel’s Fundamentalist “Miss Hezbollah” AND call her out for engaging in such “immoral” acts as pole-dancing? Will they finally have to acknowledge that their prudish fears of the human body make them far more like Muslim Fundies than they would like to admit?

In any case, any person under, say age 60, who finds clothed pole dancing “shocking” or “scandalous” probably belongs in Saudi Arabia or the like.

Or is there something else going on? Usually when older women call younger women “sleazy” or the like it’s because they no longer have the necessary goods to attract men. It’s okay Debbie, you can always attract men with your winning personality, sweetie. 😉

For the ones saying Schlussel has always been ugly, I actually will defend her in a single regard. She reportedly had a very attractive face and figure (pre-aging and pre-knife) in her younger days. Sadly, the people who feel the effects of aging most strongly ARE the attractive ones. Had Debbie been unappealing for the duration of her existence, fate would not seem so very cruel. Now, stripped of beauty and left solely with her mind (or what’s left of it), poor Deb is having quite the struggle with an early mid-life crisis. The effect is only natural — lash out at those who have what you once had. She’s like Margo Channing but without the grace.

Don’t believe me? Ask yourself why she is lashing out at this particular Muslim at this particular time with such vehemence? There are plenty of Muslims making political news related to the US that would be logical targets.

Actually Albert – you can speak out against Hezbollah if you want to. Plenty people have darling, maybe you aren’t paying enough attention to what goes on in Lebanon to comment like that. And Lebanon was never a ‘Christian Country’, maybe you should take some history classes too.

Let me fill you in – after French colonization, France established a Maronite ruling class over the rest of the Lebanese because they feared that as a MINORITY the Maronites would be neglected. MINORITY….I think you know the definition of that right? Moving on with the lesson, to be a president in Lebanon you need to be Maronite…Christian Maronite.

Also, since you apparently have never set foot in Lebanon, let alone another Arab country. The party life Lebanon boasts of is not because as you put it “was a Christian country” (which btw is very uneducated of you) it is because as Lebanese people love life and live it.

And this is not to say that Hezbollah is innocent – but then again we go into the whole Israel/Palestinian/Lebanese issue which is not even the topic at the moment. (Think summer 2006 is you need your memory jogged)

If you intend to attack people, look at yourselves and what you are supporting before you try to criticize others.
