Islamic Terrorists Do it Moony-Style

By Debbie Schlussel
Hmmm . . . What a coincidence! Terrorist group Islamic Jihad’s latest effort is a mass wedding, very cozy and intimate–with 200 brides and bridegrooms (all the better to get it done quickly so future terrorist breeding can begin). It reminds us of another group that frequently engages in these small, quiet affairs–the Moonies, followers of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his Unification Church. Islamic Jihad and the Moonies have something else in common. Both mindless cults–even if one is much more peaceful than the other.
No word on whether there was a mass “civilized” display of the blood-stained sheets (common to Islamic weddings)–to prove that future jihadist conception had begun (didn’t make the AP Photo cut, apparently).
Then, there’s Alisa Flatow, one of Islamic Jihad’s victims and one of the many American victims of Palestinian terrorism. She’ll never get to have a wedding–mass or otherwise. Meanwhile, Islamic Jihad founder and chief, Sami Al-Arian, who planned the bus attack on Flatow and others, remains on trial.

If you are down on the Moonies, does that mean you also pay less credence to the ravings published in the Washington Times? Or is that gospel for your type?

Thorn,
Love her, admire her, but Debbie is autonomous enough to be a certified “ravings” creator in her own right. Who needs the Washington Times for a springboard, when the ingredient listing to Baked Tostitos would do just as well? I disagree with just about everything you say, Debbie, and find that “terrorist breeding” more than a bit alarmist, but keep on keeping on.

This isn’t terrorist breeding? How about homicide/suicidebomber robot breeding?

While “terrorist breeding” would normally seem very alarmist, you folks should think about who is sponsoring this mass wedding, we’re not talking about some simple loving feel-good little religious charity group here (which at least from a murder/violence standpoint the Moonies are compared to these guys though both do a good job of brainwashing people).
When Communist Russia paid mothers rewards for having lots of kids back in the 50’s thru 70’s, wasn’t that kind of a similar thing (and the Nazis did similar too)? I think Debbie is correctly calling it as she sees it here.
And by the way, nice touch bringing up Alisa Flatow, I can’t believe it’s 10 years already; I remember in these parts (I’m just over the NY-NJ border on the NY side) what a big deal she was in the news, and not just with the local Jewish community. It’s also good to remind people of dangerous influences like that Florida professor you mentioned. At least here he’s on trial, if he lived in England he’d probably be getting away with masterminding the bombings or something. 🙂
