Epic Fail: E-Verify Employer Immigration Check Doesn’t Work
E-Verify, the program touted by both the Bush and Obama Administrations to weed out illegal alien employees, fails more than 50% of the time to catch illegal aliens. The computerized system, designed to weed out illegal alien employees, doesn’t work.
ICE Agents @ Their Last Major Raid in Bellingham, WA
That’s significant because it was used as a precursory centerpiece by both the past and current administrations in their planned “comprehensive immigration reform” a/k/a illegal alien amnesty programs. The program has also been used by the Napolitano Department of Homeland Security to curtail current immigration enforcement by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents.
As I’ve noted previously, ICE agents tell me they have been reduced to doing nothing in the category of apprehending illegal aliens because Napolitano and her figurehead ICE chief, John Morton a/k/a “Moron,” have made it nearly impossible to arrest illegal aliens, requiring lots of paperwork, up to seven forms per alien arrest, and approval from ICE headquarters BEFORE arresting each alien. Napolitano has focused on the failed E-Verify as a way for employers to do the work she won’t allow ICE agents to do, since she ended workplace raids and worksite enforcement by ICE agents and put those who conducted a raid in the Seattle area under investigation, themselves (for the crime of doing their jobs).
So, as the execrable Dr. Phil would say, “Howz that workin’ for ya?” Not too well:
The Department of Homeland Security’s controversial and much-touted E-Verify program might be failing to detect one out of two illegal workers whose employment authorizations are screened, outside consultants have told the agency. . . .
An evaluation of E-Verify carried out for DHS by research group Westat found the program couldn’t confirm whether information workers were presenting was their own, and, as a result, “many unauthorized workers obtain employment by committing identity fraud that cannot be detected by E-Verify,” Westat told the department. Westat put the “inaccuracy rate for unauthorized workers” at about 54%. . . .
The research company submitted its report in December. It was posted on the Web site of Citizenship and Immigration Services but has received little public attention.
(Emphasis added.)

The only way to find illegal aliens is to use HUMIT–Human Intelligence. That means, ICE agents need to be freed by ICE and DHS to do their jobs, including enforcing immigration laws and raiding employers. Clearly the computer system isn’t working.
A failure rate of more than 50% would put any legitimate business out of business. And maybe that’s why so many illegal aliens continue to remain here and take American citizens’ jobs, driving wages further down. Don’t believe the hype from Homeland Security that the bad economy has driven illegal aliens out.
Plenty of them remain . . . and 54% are seen as working legally because E-Verify failed to catch them. Incredibly, this administration continues to push for “comprehensive immigration reform” when it cannot and refuses to do even a modicum of immigration enforcement. That’s a recipe for everlasting disaster.

This isn’t new…anyone who was prior IMMIGRATION knew E-Verify was worthless. Speaking of worthless, so is ice because it’s comprised of legacy customs weenies and drones fresh out of the academy who are focused on NOT enforcing immigration law. Furthermore, ice agents won’t be freed up by management to do anything because, as you say Debbie, the fish rots from the head down.
