Meet Ahmadinejad’s Mainstream Jewish American Enablers

By
It often upsets me when someone, commenting on a terrorism issue, says, “Well, I’m Jewish, and I think . . .” or “Well, so-and-so is Jewish, and it doesn’t bother him/her . . .” The fact is terrorism is NOT a Jewish issue. It is EVERYONE’S issue, especially all Americans.

Robert Cohen & Sharona Shapiro:

Ahmadinejad’s Jewish American Dupes

Jews have neither the monopoly on the issue–as one would hope the 9/11 attacks finally proved to those who thought it’s a Jewish thing-nor the sole expertise. In fact, as I’ve noted on this site, far too many of my prominent fellow co-religionists are witting enablers of terrorists and their supporters on our own soil. They call it “outreach.” And if they were around in the 1930s and ’40s, they’d be supping on wienerschnitzel with members of the Nazi fan club known as the German American Bund, while their co-religionists in Auschwitz became lampshades and ash.
These days, mainstream Jewish leaders who claim to represent me are claiming they are against today’s Hitler, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Yet, at the same time, they are helping his agents here in America. I’m not talking about the Neturei Karta rabbis, the small group of fringe rabbis who’ve hung out with Ahmadinejad at his Holocaust confab in Tehran and who have been denounced by all denominations of Judaism. They don’t count.
I’m talking about Jewish leaders–especially two emblematic ones here in the Detroit area–who have the big bucks of the Jewish Welfare Federation a/k/a United Jewish Communities behind them. In most Jewish communities in major American cities, that’s the unelected, self-appointed, left-wing-dominated umbrella group for most Jewish groups in town.
Specifically, I refer to and , two individuals who over the years have claimed–and continue to claim–to speak for me as a Jewish American. They don’t, nor do they speak for more than a handful of Jews. That’s why it’s distressing that, yesterday, Mr. Cohen–who is Executive Director of the Jewish Community Council (an organization my late paternal grandfather once headed)–helped lead a rally against Ahmadinejad at the Detroit-area Holocaust Memorial Center (founded and headed by my cousin) . . . while at the same time he’s breaking pita with Ahmadinejad’s well-known anti-Semitic American agents. The calorically-gifted Ms. Shapiro, until recently the headmistress of the local American Jewish Committee, also does the same.
Just after last summer’s Hezbollah war and accompanying Dearbornistan rallies of tens of thousands in support, Mr. Cohen stating that he will continue to reach out to Iranian-influenced Shi’ite extremist leaders in town because “Christians want us to” (which Christians?) and because we must do that “to keep our community safe.” Baloney. In fact, Cohen’s letter sounds ironically identical to the lecturing we heard over the weekend from Columbia Prez Dean Bollinger and Dean John Coatsworth about the need to “engage in . . . discussion” and “dialogue” with Ahmadinejad.
Ms. Shapiro spoke with the Detroit newspapers also stating that outreach was in order. On Passover, she even holds a joint Jewish-Muslim Passover Seder at her house in swanky West Bloomfield, Michigan. I guess she forgot that Passover is about celebrating freedom, NOT dhimmitude.
And both of them continue to reach out to Imams Hassan Qazwini and Mohammed Ali Elahi, both supporters and defenders of Ahmadinejad. They are the two most prominent Shi’ite clerics in town and also throughout North America. But both are not only extremists who support Mahmoudstock, but both have been photographed visiting their buddy, Hezbollah spiritual leader Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah. In addition, Elahi was sent here by the Khomeini government he once served as spiritual leader of its Navy (and Hezbollah officials), in order to radicalize the Shi’ite congregants at his former mosque (now Qazwini’s), the Islamic Center of America.
Despite all of that–despite their open, vocal support for Ahmadinejad, Hezbollah, HAMAS, etc.–both Mr. Cohen and Ms. Shapiro (whom I’ve appropriately dubbed the verbal Monica Lewinsky to extremist Islam) continue to send out missives and notes urging “dialogue” and “outreach” with these two imams, who are known agents of the current Government of Iran. Shapiro even offered to pay for minor damage to Elahi’s mosque, when a drunken person threw a bottle through a side-door window. When Showtime debuted its excellent series, “,” she The woman is an Islamist-groupie. In 1940, she’d have been a coppo at the concentration camp.
Yesterday, Cohen told the Detroit Free Press:

Iran must be stopped, must be deterred from acquiring nuclear weapons. It is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism. It denies the Holocaust. It threatens the state of Israel and the whole world.

If you truly believe this, Robert Cohen, then why do you pander to those who believe the same and live here in the Detroit area? Why do you pander to those who have openly stated that they are agents of this madman? Why?
Because you are a phony.
Frankly, while I am extremely troubled that the modern-day Hitler, Ahmadinejad, was welcomed to Columbia U and given a platform, I find the support these two unelected Jewish leaders give to Ahmadinejad’s U.S. agents to be far more troubling. Mahmoud and his entourage will go home to Tehran, but Elahi and Qazwini will not. They will continue to remain here and influence minions upon minions in the Iranian Shi’ite agenda of hatred, as they have been doing. And their congregants–like Hezbollah financier Talal Chahine and his convicted honor-murderer son Khalil Chahine–will continue to do Ahmadinejad’s bidding.
And these two super-duper dupes–Robert Cohen and Sharona Shapiro–will continue to legitimize them.
Given this, all the rallies in the world against Ahmadinejad at Holocaust museums don’t make a whit of difference.
In fact, they are just a charade. If you can’t connect the dots, get out of the playground.
These Jews don’t speak for me. And they don’t speak for you on terrorism, either.

Ahmadinegobbeldygook should not have been speaking anywhere on US soil outside of the General Assembly or his hotel. He should have been escorted by a Secret Service detail from airport to his hotel room to the General Assembly and back. Armed guards should have manned the door to his room to make sure he had nowhere else to go. The man is an enemy belligerant on US soil who is unfortunately allowed here for diplomatic reasons (i.e. the UN). That does not give him free reign to parade around our country giving press conferences and speeches. Furthermore, I read over at LittleGreenFootballs this morning that he met with members of the Muslim community in America. Who, CAIR? The Muslim Student Association? I wonder if Debbie has been keeping tabs on her Hezbo buddies in Detroit – maybe they made the trip to the Big Apple to hobnob with their buddy Mahmoud? Inquiring minds would like to know. Furthermore, I hope since he is a foreign head of state and enemy belligerent, that the FBI, CIA, or Secret Service has records of whom he spoke with privately while on US soil.
I don’t fault Columbia for this fiasco, I fault the US government for not treating him as the appropriate security risk and enemy belligerent he is.

I’m a Jew…who agrees with everything you said about our so-called “leaders.” These people care more about P.C. and pandering than they do about the safety and well being of local Jews, or the Jewish people in general.

Add to the list Betsey Kellman, head of the Michigan Anti-Defamation League. She is an ACLU moonbat who would rather coddle Islamists than improve the situation of Jewish people. Her position is that ADL is a “civil rights organization,” and not a Jewish civil rights organization. Might as well be called the ADIL (Anti-Defamation against Islamists Legaue).
[YOU COULD NOT BE MORE CORRECT. BETSY KELLMAN IS A MOONBAT WHO KOWTOWS TO EXTREMIST MUSLIMS, JUST LIKE SHAPIRO AND COHEN. WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU ARE RIGHT ON TARGET. WHO ARE YOU? E-MAIL ME, PLEASE. DS]

Michelle Malkin snapped this photo yesterday. Extremely moving:

Thanks Debbie for speaking for all the Shiri Negari’s. I hold Sharona Shapiro indirectly responsible for her death (and Adam Shapiro directly responsible).

Debbie, why do Jews support Communism? I keep hearing about American Communists in the first half of the 20th century with ‘Jewish’ last names. I don’t understand the history of Jews supporting Communism, but there seems to be a lot of them. Please explain if you can. Thanks

I am so sick of these hand-wringing Jews who only want to be loved. Don’t they understand that their groveling only breeds contempt? They are truly “useful idiots”. I think they were the “capos” of the Nazi era. No, that slob does not speak for me.

lexi on September 25, 2007 at 6:55 pm

I’m not jewish, but you don’t have to be to also be upset that this cockroach dung even has a voice right on our american soil.
There are many ethicites with people that misrepersent them….yours is no different Debbie.
But the media ignores people like you, me, and others who wants our ehticity to move forward…and will focus only on “minorites” THAT CONTUINES TO HOLD US BACK!!! I’m so pissed right now….

Squirrel3D on September 25, 2007 at 8:46 pm

Just the very fact that this turd is allowed to draw one more breath pisses me off!!
I agree with two differing mindsets about this idiot. He should have been arrested as soon as he touched down, been tried and hung in Times Square for the whole world to see that we mean business. Or, we should put an air to air missle in his cereal while he is flying back to Iran.
It truly saddens me to see that we have turned into a nation of hand-wringing people.
God Bless America and God Bless Israel!!!!

Sharona needs to lay off the cream cheese.
I wish they’d listen to you more Debbie. The track in propehetic Scripture says Israel will make a “covenant with death” –a phony peace deal with a Clinton-esque flatterer. Yes, he will turn on them and it will get really bloody.
How Israel could even talk to Abbas about peace is so asinine–as you often point out. My point–your people are mostly self hating–appeasers. You really have a battle on your hands to show them the folly of their “well intentioned”–but idiotic/self destructive tendencies.

Debbie
You are right that this isn’t just a Jewish issue. It isn’t even just an American issue – it’s a pan-Infidel issue. I’m sure the Buddhist schoolteachers in South Thailand are too busy rooting for settlements in Judea and Samaria and therefore deserve their fate. Similarly, the Serbs in Kosovo sure are another Zionist bunch. Similarly, Hindu worshipers in India who have their celebrations targeted for Jihadi attacks are too busy plotting the eviction of Muslims from Palestine (never mind that they can’t even pull that off in India). And if Israel didn’t exist, there would be no Abu Sayyaf in the Phillipines.
Next time you talk to them, tell them, “Jews may be on the frontlines, but this ain’t just a Jewish issue”.

Infidel Pride on September 26, 2007 at 1:42 am

I’ve said this many times, and frequently get confused looks or outright derision. No matter, it is true, and born out by the evidence and history just in my lifetime, let alone prior to that. There is a rather good testament and monument to part of that history right here, out on Maple Road in West Bloomfield. Further testament is the fact that on my street, when growing up, the majority of single parent homes were NOT the result of divorce. It seems a human trait to generate wimpering apologists among the community at large, which is at odds with the survival of everyone, including Jews. When they occur among Jews, it is doubly dangerous, as encouragment for the demented.
Simply put: As it goes for Jews and Israel, so it goes for Americans, and likley all of the free west. Any movement demonizing Jews is a threat to everyone else. Such movements wax weird when they ascribe all evil to less than 2/10ths of 1% of the world population. From there it is all downhill.
It may seem strange to some of the younger here, including Debbie, and has confounded my Jewish friends both here and elsewhere. Anyway, growing up in the 40’s and 50’s, in a Irish family, the word “Jew” was forbidden in our home, if used to refer to an individual, rather than a religious and cultural affilitaiton. My father was adamant about it, since in his lifetime the word had been used as an invective…and he’d not allow it in his home. Partially, I suspect, that was because in his business well over half of his suppliers and customers were Jewish, and as a man who lived for his work, they were his community as much as anyone on our block. You wanted to be assured of a butt kicking, just ascribe negotiation of price with a derivative of that word around him.
It took me nearly 5 years to become comfortable with using the word “Jew” in ordinary conversation, and it still tweaks my mind as this post shows.

Zoyadog on September 26, 2007 at 5:01 am

I have a one line query about the Left and it’s uh, peculiar relationship to mooslims. However, I hesitate to post it even at Debbie’s not-quite family-oriented site, especially in this time of her bereavement. Maintaining a certain tone might be more appropriate, at least for a while.

As a jew myself(hence Jew Chick, lol), I abhor and detest these people for what they are doing. They certainly don’t represent the fundaments of Judiasm which I adhere to anymore than George Soros/Tzuris ( yiddish slang for pain) does. They are equivalent if not the descendants of the jewish kapos who would work hand and glove with the nazis to deport their fellow jews to the gas chambers in hope that the nazis would spare their lives in return. As far as the nazis were concerned, once these jewish kapos served their purpose, they would be joining with everyone else in the ovens. I’m sure Ahmadinejad and the rest of the Arab despotic leaders feel the same way towards Robert Cohen and Sharona Shapiro as htey would feel towards any left wing backstabbing self-american hating commu-nazi pinko. These people have alot of history to catch up on because G-D forbid if Iran were to suceed in carrying out its nuclear power plant using it to strike us, they will be comming after their collaborators whom they thought were their friends. A nuclear bomb does not dicriminate red blooded American patriots from seditious American traitors. Either these people get their act together or convert to Islam and get the heck out of this country.
Most jews such as myself oppose the communist ideology. I have nothing but utter comtempt and repugnance towards these self hating jews and the lot. Unfortunately, I wan’t able to attend yesterday’s rally. It must have been spectacular. Mayor Bloomberg and the staff commitee at Columbia University both ought to be ashamed of themselves for permitting entry of this smirking Iraninan Hitler sonofabitch into New York for the seond time to deliver his diplomacy tripe speech all in which he lies about the maltreatment of homosexuals and women in Iran. The world peace he would like to make is puzzles. Good riddance to Bollinger ( correct me if I mispelled his name) and the U.N. This whole situation could make one mad enough to go nuclear.

Jew Chick on September 26, 2007 at 10:01 am

There is a reason for these enablers – it’s a survival tactic, not limited to any particular group, but some may do it better. The history of WWII has numerous examples, most of them very unattractive. But it may work in some otherwise hopeless situations. It just happens to be totally unAmerican, and moreover, when it does work it’s often only because somewhere there was an America that fought the enemy … and eventually won.

spottswoode on September 27, 2007 at 2:55 am

Ah Debbie, we’ve never fought a war in this country without these kinds of people. Remember Lindberg? Hero? I think not. The big problem is that collaborators are legitimate these days. It’s so sad to see Jews, especially, looking to hold a dialog with radical Islamicists: anyone who’s read history will tell you that the predecessors of today’s Islamic lunatics were Hitler’s brightest pupils.

Watch this video from a guy named Evan Sayet:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c
Evan explains what he calls “Modern Liberals” and how they think. This is the philosophy is infesting all sorts of organizations. I think Evan is about as close as anyone has come to explaining these people.
