More Tats Trouble: Tramp Stamps Are Mark of Harm for Expectant Moms

By Debbie Schlussel
I’ve over the years. And while I know quite a few of my readers have them (I guess they are the exceptions to my generalizations), you still gotta wonder about why anyone would put permanent marks on themselves. I’m glad my religion forbids me from getting one.
In my view, they’re more forgivable on men. But, , a woman who doesn’t take long to agree to repeatedly put a needle in her body, generally doesn’t take long before she acquiesces to putting other things into her body. In other words, she’s easy.
Now, there are more serious implications for those women with the “tramp stamp” marking their lower backs. Once they get pregnant, there is serious harm potential to themselves and their unborn child.

Easy and Now At Risk to Her Baby

Wall Street Journal health columnist Rachel Zimmerman reports:

Pregnant women already have plenty to worry about. But now some doctors are pointing to another potential problem: tattoos.
The issue is whether it’s safe to stick a needle through a tattoo in the lower back for an epidural — an injection of painkilling medicine that can ease the discomfort of labor.
There has been an explosion in recent years in women’s lower-back tattoos — often ornate designs that take up a lot of surface area near the vertebrae where epidural needles are typically inserted.
In 2002, a pair of Canadian anesthesiologists published a report that questioned whether administering an epidural through such a tattoo could be risky. The doctors speculated that complications like inflammation or nerve damage may arise if the needle pulled a bit of dyed skin along with it, and then deposited it into the nerve-rich region outside the spinal column. . . .
A 2006 study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that nearly one-quarter of Americans ages 18 to 50 are tattooed. [DS Translation: Dermatologists and plastic surgeons practicing laser removal will have an even more booming biz in a few years.] Among them, nearly 20% of the women have tattoos on their lower back, researchers reported. [DS Translation: At least 20% of American women are saying, “We’ll be seeing each other come bar time.”]
The national epidural rate is nearly 65% of the four million births a year in the U.S. . . .
The Food and Drug Administration says tattoo inks and pigments fall into categories that the agency regulates, but due to other health priorities, the agency hasn’t specifically approved any inks. Two FDA-backed studies are under way to evaluate possible adverse reactions to the ink, and ways to test it for toxicity.
Krzysztof Kuczkowski, chief of obstetric anesthesia at the University of California San Diego Medical Center, published an account in 2004 of a 34-year-old patient with tattoos covering her mid-lumbar area who received an epidural. Afterward she experienced unusual burning, tenderness and swelling where the epidural catheter had been placed. Dr. Kuczkowski believes the tattoo was the culprit. “It’s possible there’s a release of small particles that could contain metals or toxic compounds,” he says.
Anesthesiologist Mark Kostash, clinical professor at the University of Calgary in Alberta, says, “Nerves are so delicate and can be injured so easily, we want to minimize the risk that anything we do might cause damage.” He adds: “If it was me, and I had a tattoo, I’d say, ‘Go around it.’ ”
Anesthesiologists should try to avoid the tattoo. Or they can create a nick in the skin before the needle is stuck in, minimizing the chance of some skin getting pulled down with the injection. Finally, Dr. Douglas says, women should be told that while there is no proof complications will arise, there remains a potential risk.

Or better than going around the tattoo, here’s another suggestion for women who want to have a baby:
Don’t get a tattoo.

Deb:
I get different answers on this question: What is the basis in Judaism for the prohibition of tattoos. As I understand, the prohibition of self-mutilation is the basis, but that doesn’t seem to stop Jewish women from getting their ears pierced.
Having said that, I wouldn’t get a tatoo. Moreover, career councelors are strongly advising against them.

There is NO Santa Claus on September 18, 2007 at 12:54 pm

Ear piercing and tatoos are not exactly the same thing, fyi.
What really befuddles me is the fact that people are willing to spend alot of money to go through an unecessarily painful procedure such as getting a tatoo. I will never come to understand what people can get out of having their skins punctured and carved besides an infection.Same goes for navel piercing. I’d rather stick to those fake disposable tatoo kits. They are cheaper, less excruciating, and safer. If you want to see art work, go to a museum or draw something.

Jew Chick on September 18, 2007 at 1:16 pm

No, no, Debbie. You have it all wrong. That should be “Get a tattoo! DON’T have a baby.”
Tramp-stampers should not be breeding.

AmericanJewess on September 18, 2007 at 1:26 pm

I will never understand tattoos. It’s a fad started a few years ago that will never leave you. It shows how far people will go to follow a trend – putting needles in their bodies to make permanent drawings. Sorry, but I never understood putting holes in your ears to hang earrings. Considering the punctures will eventually heal, it’s definitely not as bad, though.

Allen on September 18, 2007 at 1:40 pm

Oh my. Potential worm can. Do we dare open it? From my point of view as a conservative Christian…and a red-blooded (though aging…)male: That said, though the current trend of the pictured tattoos over the lovely bums exposed by the trendy “pants sliding off” jeans is, well, pleasing to the eyes, I have to say that marking the body for some statement or viewpoint is foolish. It may represent “who you are” at that point but you will obviously change and later on deeply regret that statement. How many guys tattooed their “love’s” name on a body area only to have that relationship dissolve. The next lady to come along might be a permanent relationship and she’s stuck with seeing the ex’s name in a, well, sensitive area. Ouch, in more than one sense. I just hate to see a man mark his body up with weird scenes and signs, let alone a beautiful woman with those marks on her body. Even just an ankle tattoo. And there are plenty of both with their bodies COVERED with tattoos. Yuck. It’s really a matter of lack of common sense. Doesn’t it also speak volumes of what that person deep down feels about themselves? Like it was just said, if you want to see some art, go to a gallery or draw your own pictures. Just leave your skin out of it. Actually, the Apostle Paul wrote in one of his letters that our bodies (those of us who are Believers, at least) are NOT ours to do with as we please, but they were bought with a terrible price. We are responsible for what we do with our bodies. As regarding anything we do, we need to think before we act. Think long and hard. Consequences are our responsibility. No one elses. And they sometimes are life-long. Yes, this is my personal viewpoint and opinion. I don’t say it to condemn anyone, just to get someone to THINK. We only get one chance at life with one body to do it in. Please don’t just see my words, but hear my heart, too.

Iím always amused by the those who wonít touch meat, who feel responsible for ëglobal warmingí, or who protest every perceived affront to a ‘pristine’ environment, yet inject heavy metals under their skin.
But, your article is about mainstream displayers of tatoos, and I heartily agree that they are tramp stamps. Seemingly that’s the image they are going for. Pretty sad.

dm60462 on September 18, 2007 at 2:00 pm

Well, these trashy little tats sure beat “The Peace Scarf” (aka Yasser Ararat terrorist du-rag) that is becoming en vogue on the East Coast.

JasonBourne81 on September 18, 2007 at 3:10 pm

Floyd R. Turbo, there is NOTHING pleasent about seeing a tatto right where the slut’s dirty ass in. I’m sorry, but any lady who has a tatto in the area and wears low rise jeans is a mark that says she’s a slut. How do we know if a guy is really looking at the tatto, or it’s just there as a distraction to really make the person see her dirty unattractive butt? Or…is it there to give the slut an excuse to ether have a belly ring or wear thigh (not hip) hugging jeans in the first place?
Look, I’m sick of having to see an asscrack from some slut sitting near me. And the sad thing is, this trend even goes as far as girls in the MUCH YOUNGER age range. And you wonder why pedophilla is going up?
Here’s another reason it’s going up. I’m suprised Debbie didn’t even post this story yet.

Half of you idiots railing against tattoos and calling people stupid and tramps can’t even spell tattoo correctly. Keep on denying your latent homosexual tendencies and enjoy your douchebaggy existence.

Idiots on June 18, 2011 at 8:50 pm

I think Vince Vaughn in Wedding Crashers said it best about this subject “Tattoo on the lower back? Might as well be a bullseye.”
In all seriousness though, there are two kinds of people who get tattoos. Those who want to do something trendy, and those who get something that means something to them.
I’m going to ignore the “trendsters”, since they are just Lemmings who will follow whatever MTV tells them to and aren’t worthy of another thought. Instead, I’m going to focus on the smaller group of people who get a tattoo for a reason.
Rather than get something “off the shelf” that everybody and their brother is going to have, I got a tattoo of something that has a deep personal meaning to me. I’m a concert photographer who struggled for a number of years, and after finally catching a break and landing my dream job, I had the logo of the first band I ever shot tattooed on my arm. Now, every time I look in the mirror, I’m reminded of the struggle I went through to get where I am in life, as well as being reminded of where all those struggles can take me in life.
Another example of this is a NYFD member who lost most of his friends on 9-11 who had the Twin Towers put on his back, along with the names of all his friends he lost that day.
My point is, when you see someone with a tattoo, don’t just dismiss them because you think they’re into a “fad”. There are some of us out there with a story behind the ink.

D*Rek on September 18, 2007 at 6:01 pm

You see these more and more these days. It is sad. Every now and then–not often– I will see a tattoo on someone that gives me a “hmmmm that’s kind of neat” reaction. Most often though–I find them to be disgusting. It is as if the person want’s to go on record as having given the dark side an official registration of “ownership”–certainly of “complicity” (which is I guess about the same thing).
I interview people for rmploymrny positions and though I have moved beyond disqualifying people over such things–but a tattoo is never seen as a plus. In some cases–I truly feel like I am talking to a little “group”–the person and the hideous personages staring back at me from their green and black and other color arms.
As for the ladies’ back sides with tattoos–yes the poster who tagged them as “targets”–I have heard that and must agree. The woman who does such an permanent mark is broadcasting/telegraphing, “I am a sleaze and an easy mark–come on!”
So Debbie, I’m glad to know you don’t have any!

PNAMARBLE on September 18, 2007 at 7:02 pm

Squirrel3D, you make a valid, strong point. Looking at your link brought to immediate memory, JonBenet Ramsey…ouch. Yes, often, the tattoos are presented in a slutty manner, usually with thongs showing. And, yes, the tattoo spoils most of the other looks where the pants aren’t totally about to fall off. If I had daughters, would I want them dressing accordingly? Of course not. Or wearing tattoos either. It’s part of the whole “pants falling down” craze and, sadly, when some cities try to control it in the name of some sort of decency, they are loudly criticized for “censorship” which is BS. The trouble is, our country no longer has the “couth” it once had. Or the shame. My original comment was referring to hiphugger pants of, well, longer ago than I care to point to. Not the ones that do indeed show the butt crack. Those are ridiculous. And slutty. Especially with the thong showing. NOT attractive.

Floyd R. Turbo on September 18, 2007 at 7:29 pm

“A 2006 study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that nearly one-quarter of Americans ages 18 to 50 are tattooed.”
Wow, is it really that high? Very little I see on this website shocks me, but this is incredible. I would have guessed around 10%.

LibertarianBulbasaur on September 18, 2007 at 7:41 pm

A couple of points:
1) Many people who get tattoos as adults were face-painted as children, and this was done on ‘happy’ occasions. So, many people associate this kind of ‘art’ with good feelings about themselves. It is an ‘expression’ of who they are.
2) Wait until the tattooed body gains or loses a few pounds, or gets old and the skin sags. Awhile ago, I saw an older man with a tattoo on the upper part of his forearm. I have no idea what it was (he must have had large forearms when he was younger; he was a Navy guy, too), but it was an indistinct blob when I saw it. I also saw a video that showed what happens to one of these lower back tattoos some young women get. It was hilarious; as the woman aged and gained weight, it became a blob, an ugly blob.

Tramp-stampers should not be breeding.
Since I know how conservatives feel about those who use the f-word, I’m curious what you consider the proper response to someone who slanders one’s tattooed wife and the mother of one’s child in this way. Suggestions accepted.

Auguste Doesn't Have a Last Name on September 19, 2007 at 4:54 am

tramp-stamp?
Geez, how utterly insulting and stupid can you be?
I say that as an untattooed mom and grandma.
Leave aside gangrelated tattooing…which does say something about the person, making such blanket “she’s a slut” statements about women, which includes CONSERVATIVE women, with decorative/meaningful tattoos is indicates more about the lack of class of the speaker than it does about the “slut.”

Darleen on September 19, 2007 at 11:00 am

and, btw, did y’all ever consider a lot of women are perfectly capable of giving birth without drugs? Kinda makes the epidural question moot.

Darleen on September 19, 2007 at 11:43 am

Disclaimer: Yes, there are exceptions, but . . . .
What is it about our society that makes so many women and girls believe that being a whore is a good thing? Why are disgusting skanks like Madonna and Angelina Jolie considered role models? Why is Britney Spears being critized for being a tad chunky and putting on a poor “performance” — instead of for strutting around in black lace underwear on national TV and generally behaving like a worthless tramp?
Memo to women: Yes, men like to screw around. But men think that women who screw around are utter garbage and only good for sex. Why do so many women seek this kind of pathetic “relationship” with men?

RepublicanPatriot on September 19, 2007 at 1:27 pm

Tramp Stamps
First impressions are that a woman with a tatoo on her back is a whore like it or not Darlene.
Every time, I see a girl with her “g” string showing and a tramp stamp I immediately think
Skank and I want to take a bath.
Sorry to burst your bubble but most men think the same way.
Why do you think they are called Tramp Stamps?

ScottyDog on September 19, 2007 at 1:46 pm

“Sorry to burst your bubble but most sexist males think the same way”
there, ScottyDog, fixed it for you.

Darleen on September 19, 2007 at 2:11 pm

I must agree with Darleen (above). I am more than convinced that women are much stronger than we guys areÖmy wife and I have 3 kids, and she delivered each without any pain relief ó though she still needs me to kill spiders occasionally, which I do, but I put on a brave face.
I also, however, would never go through the pain and torture of a tattooÖbut in keeping with the articleís theme, I know of a website that offers an alternative: expectant mothers can wait until their baby is born, and then get a Tattoo for their car ó Car-Tatts.com has a customizable stork Tattoo that can be used to announce the birth of the child. That way, no tattoo on the body, no issue when it comes time for delivery and the epidural. Problem solved, pain-free!
PS – they also have dreidels and a menorah for Chanukkah!

I_am_evil_Homer on September 19, 2007 at 2:25 pm

I agree with D*Rek. I don’t have any tattoos but I’ve had an idea for some time for one which symbolizes something special to me.
Homer could be right. If I was 20 years younger I’d be over in Iraq killing terrorists, yet at the same time I have an extremely low pain threshold. My girlfriend is the exact opposite. She’s basically a pacifist with rheumatoid arthritis and I’ve never seen anyone who can just keep pushing herself to do more even while suffering through nonstop pain.

Becuase the death busters (from the media and on) run every aspect of our society. They’ve made it upside-down, alice in wonderland, call it what you want. A woman can’t be a woman anymore unless she is the lowest form of garbage. Failure to do so will make her “irrelevant”, told that she should not exist, won’t get a guy (who’s the type seen in movies like ‘knocked up’ or the rapper thug type) and in some cases…even called names and beaten up. Their way should be the only way according to them.
I hope that answers your question…and..sorry for the constaint use of the words “death buster”. It’s a sailor moon reference I use to describe who runs our country today.

If that makes me a dinosaur, than so be it.

ScottyDog on September 20, 2007 at 4:10 pm

So Scotty, in other words…guys like us who still have respect and class for a woman…are somehow a dinosuar for refusing to go along with the so-called progression that the death busters wants to make us think in this society just to be relevant?

Epidural are for wimps. Tattoos existed long before epidurals and Christianity.

SDstuck on September 21, 2007 at 6:19 pm

Yeah what they said. This article is stupid. You are a naive person. Obviously getting a tattoo didn’t harm the person so sticking another needle through the tattoo doesn’t do anything. If it did everyone would die from the original tattoo.

Squirrel3D
That pretty much sums it up, you hit the nail on the head.

ScottyDog on September 22, 2007 at 10:56 am

yeah… hey debbie schlusselface. ummm so i have a question. why are you so self-loathing? did it occur to you that maybe women who get tattoos are doing it for themselves and not for the image they give off to MEN? maybe they dont care. i know thats a radical concept for you-to not make every move in your life based around what men think of you-but a lot of women like the idea of a tattoo, think its cool on their own and really dont give a shit whether men will think they’re “tramps” or not because of it. actually, it might be a good way to weed out unworthy boys because anyone who would use the term “tramp stamp” is not a boy i would be interested in. [atleast not for anything more than sex.] Oh snap. yes i do have casual sex and by your standards i would be considered a tramp however it would be hard to spot right off the bat as im lacking the very telling stamp of whoredom. i have another question. in all honestly, really, what is wrong with having sex just to have sex as long as you are safe and happy in your decision? a lot boys i view as more casual, not really relationship material and i dont like getting attatched i just really enjoy having sex with them. ive had relationships and ive had casual sex and in my experience a lot of the boys ive had casual sex with have gotten attatched and wanted more of a relationship when i didnt-i say this because you might be one of those people who think women sleep around for love…anyhow i dont see why you think there is something wrong with that because im female. and further more i dont see why you feel the need to judge a woman based on what you think her sex life might be rather than other more important attributes, im pretty sure you dont judge men like that. Do you realize how much you are insulting women? i cant believe you are a woman yourself it blows my mind

mew on September 22, 2007 at 11:29 am

I find your reasoning fascinating.
By your logic, isn’t a man who gets a tattoo an easy homosexual? And this is more acceptable than an “easy” woman?
And doesn’t bible say “Be fruitful and multiply?” Do you have a problem with Christianity?

idratherbedrunk on September 22, 2007 at 2:38 pm

You say “a woman who doesn’t take long to agree to repeatedly put a needle in her body, generally doesn’t take long before she acquiesces to putting other things into her body. In other words, she’s easy.”
But in your view they’re “more forgivable on men.” Does that mean when men have them they also love to be penetrated repeatedly by a male member as you have alluded to in your reference to women with tattoos?

amberbrook on September 22, 2007 at 3:46 pm

so, if you’ve got a lower back tattoo, then don’t opt for the epidural. epidurals are more dangerous than tattoos, so the danger is in the epidural, NOT the tattoo. plus, a women does not NEED an epidural to give birth. ever.
the blatant double-standard here about tattoos being more “forgivable” on men (we, tattooed people, were not aware that we needed your forgiveness…we were all under the impression that judgment is reserved for one’s Higher Power….) and that women are “tramps” for participating in the same sub-culture shows just how ignorant and self-righteous your soul is.
personally, i don’t have a lower back tattoo. but i am not of the mind to judge anyone who does have or get one on that part of their body. i am ABOVE that kind of rhetoric. maybe, one day, you will find the strength to rise above writing such hateful words on an issue that is not for you to judge upon.
some tattoos are about moments in time in a person’s life. not about mere decoration. i have a tattoo that i *should* cover up, but i am not going to. it is a constant reminder of just how much i have grown. i am not ashamed of my past nor am i afraid to face the future. i have visual reminders that bring me gratitude for the life i have been gifted.
finally, i am relieved that my tattoos are going to detract certain kinds of unwanted attention away from my body. i do not enjoy being treated as though my purpose for existence is based on whether a man will gaze upon me. i am not here to entertain ANYone’s eyes. how selfish of anyone to believe that skin is for anyone other than it’s owner.

avril on September 22, 2007 at 4:26 pm

Your comment that women with tattoos are “easy” seems to be the essential item in this post that is, quite frankly, pissing me off. Please note the implication that there are other entirely biased and confined items you claim to be fact also bothering me. However, we’ll focus on what you really need to reconsider rather than what you should possibly rethink.
I got a 1/2 inch tattoo of the kanji symbol for faith on my left lower hip, in a place easily concealed by even underwear or a bathing suit, and in a place intimate enough for only me and my other half to share, from a licensed and expert tattoo parlor that came highly recommended for its cleanliness and professionalism.
Faith is what I live by and seeing it each day reminds me that every moment counts and that I can live my life in a way that is positive and good through a connection with my family and God.
From what I understand, for someone to be “easy” they are sexually immoral or open to multiple partners unsafely and without respect to herself. Not that it is your right to know or that it is necessary for you to know, but I am a virgin and I am saving myself for marriage in an age where sex is careless and meaningless.
For you to even suggest, much less right out say, that because I have a tattoo I am “easy” only proves that you have a very narrow, not to mention insulting, perspective of the world.
Perhaps if widen your limited attitude, you might someday see that the world is never, and will never be, as negative as your connotations.

AK Canupp on September 22, 2007 at 10:21 pm

Amid comments that pair the rise of pedophilia with how young girls present themselves, embrace the terminology “tramp stamp” with self-righteous glee, and glibly utter tired old double standards without a hint of irony, I’m left with the same question I just can’t seem to ever get away from.
WHY must women forever be held accountable for the whims and desires of the male penis?
If the sight of a tattoo on a woman (or “revealing” clothes on a minor, for that matter) cause a man the oh-so-painful discomfort of his own sexual desires, I’d say that’s his own damned problem to deal with – and, indeed, would blame HIM should anything arise from the situation (pun half-intended).
I know your patriarchal world has a really hard time grasping this but, contrary to your efforts, some women just don’t live their lives for the sake what’s acceptable to men. Grow up, get over it, and don’t let your hypocrisy hit you on the ass on your way out.
Oh, and please Debbie enlighten us to why it is okay for men to have tattoos – and “be easy” for that matter – but not women. Apart from your own self-loathing, I mean.

MizzMegan on September 23, 2007 at 12:01 pm

Don’t women who wear lipstick want to make their mouths look like vaginas so they can advertise that they are open and willing to stick anything in at any time? You might want to put up a new picture of yourself, Debbie, so you don’t look so much like a slut.

schminkey on September 23, 2007 at 8:51 pm

Dear Debbie,
I stumbled upon this piece while doing an unrelated search. After I read your article, I felt compelled to register for an account here to point out what a narrow-minded, ignorant, idiot you are. I’m glad your “religion” does your thinking for you because you obviously aren’t capable of doing any yourself.

RealityCheck on October 18, 2007 at 2:06 am

I don’t understand how people can be claim to live a life of faith, and yet still have the audacity to judge others. If a person chooses to have tattoos, then it is their personal decision. Not to mention how this article transitions from tattoos being the mark of a slut, into a great concern for mothers birthing with lower back tattoos. I have a full right sleeve of tattoos and a very meaningful quote inked onto my whole left forearm. They all mean something to me, and yet I still have religion in my life. A person tattooed does not depreciate their value, worth, moral, sexual decisions/ orientation, and/ or religion. It’s sad that most narrow minded, cruel, and relentless gossipers are the elder adults. Adults that should really be role models for the younger generation, such as I. Yet, reading some of the comments concerning this article proves to me that some people are cynical and have opinions that are just personal hatred and constitutes nothing worth listening to.

How about how dangerous it is for a pregnant woman and her unborn child to undergo an epidural. Ok you don’t like tattoos, they have been around for thousands of years. Don’t get one. It always amazed me how the so called Christians and fundamentalists are so unforgiving and unacceptable of others, I really don’t think Jesus would care about my tattoo, but I’m pretty sure your egotistical self centered attitude would..

Mike Miller on March 31, 2010 at 10:21 am

Tattoos in general look trashy. On a guy it makes him appear to be either a sailor, a biker or a career criminal. On a woman it’s even worse, making her look like she’s a slut. Sorry if that offends women who are slaves to the latest trends and just had to get a tattoo but it’s the truth. Doesn’t mean a woman with a tattoo definitely IS a slut but that she merely APPEARS to be one until proven otherwise. It just screams “I’m going down to the docks to wait for the Navy to come in.”

The lower back tattoo is widely called a tramp stamp for a reason i.e. that this is what it makes its owner appear to be, a tramp.

Use your minds on July 19, 2010 at 5:31 pm

Okay, I have one of these ‘tramp stamps’ and I love it. For me it is a way to make myself unique and keep memories and or things I believe and stand for. This isn’t a fair statement as everyone is different and has their own sense of judgemnet. There are just as many sluts if not more “WITHOUT” tattoos as there are with, sorry you just have a hard on for people like me , I dunno – find something better to talk about, worth while talking about, not picking people apart cause YOU disagree with a choice that people choose to make, it aint hurting ya.

My business TECH.BLORGE is tattooed on my chest and I am getting my name Pospisil Poopsie tattooed above my dick for my lover. He is the best and has a full-body tattoo. That is how I got into it.

We don’t want women with tattoos reproducing. Morons will only give birth to other morons and the world has enough idiots as it is. Without exception women with tattoos are trashy, stupid, and slutty.

From my experience, girls with tattoos are far more likely to get freaky a lot faster than girls who haven’t molested their bodies with ink.

Generally speaking, girls with tattoos are only good for a fling. I’d never bring one home to meet mom.. Unless she only had a small one and has already realized how trashy it is and is planning on having it removed.

I’ve never understood body mutilation, even under the marketing guise of “art” and “expression”.

The funniest thing I hear is these folks saying they will always be happy with their tat under the assumption their tastes and maturity level will never change.

For reals? Man! No way.

There are foods I hated when I was younger that I love now. And foods I loved that I hate now, and the same with music I listened to as a teenager. And so on and so on.

Yeah, I can totally see some lady in her forties just totally loving her tramp stamp that she got when she turned 18…………..

Probably a good time to invest some money in companies that make tattoo removal equipment. It is going to be a brisk business in 15 to 20 years.

Wow. The huge range of insults on these comments is just amazing to me. For those who think everyone will eventually regret their tat: I wouldn’t recommend the name of a girlfriend/boyfriend or maybe even a wife/husband, but I know people with their child’s name. How’s that going to be a regret? I have my college logo. Relationships may fail, but my degree never will. And I resent the implication that being tattooed means that I’m “easy.” I’ve been married for 18 years, and have only been with one man – ever. The tattoo is in my skin, not on my brain, you idiots. Mine is on my right shoulder, and is usually covered by clothing, but if seeing it causes a rise in some other man, that’s his problem, not mine.

Oh, and I’m also one of those women who skipped the epidural. Two babies. No drugs necessary.

Tramp stampers shouldn’t breed? Agreeing to have a needle repeatedly stuck into you leads to what now? That’s some harsh judgement don’t you think? I’m a lovely young woman with two beautiful children, a house, a husband and a tramp stamp. Wait did I say a house a husband and two children? I meant a trailer, a deadbeat boyfriend and two aggressive and malnourished dogs. Obviously anyone with a tattoo is trash right? I’m sure Jesus said that.

PS
I had epidurals with both my children and they worked just fine!

Please stop being so judgemental of people you don’t know. I’m pretty sure Jesus DID say something like that.
