New Israeli Logic

By
In Jewish folklore, there is a city called Chelm, where the “Wise Men” who run the town are extremely stupid and illogical. Whatever would make sense, they do the exact opposite.
It appears that Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s ancestors hail from the mythical city and descended from “The Wise Men of Chelm.” His logic sounds a lot like John Kerry’s “I voted for it before I voted against it”.

Ehud Barak: Seeing The World Through Rose-Colored Glasses

He’s saying that Israel must have a missile defense system in place to protect is from Palestinian rocket fire before Israel can give away to its enemies the strategically important so-called “West Bank.” That’s like saying, “We need chemotherapy on our stomach first to prepare for the cancer we’ll get tomorrow by cutting off our legs.” It simply makes no sense. He’s basically admitting that he knows that the rocket fire Israel is getting from Gaza will continue and will probably happen from the “peaceful,” favored Fatah terrorists in the “West Bank,” too.
So, to solve the problem, first let’s develop a system to shoot down the rockets, then let’s give them the base from which to shoot the rockets at us, then let’s try to shoot the rockets down and hope we succeed in saving innocent lives targeted by terrorists. It’s absurd.
If you know your enemies will be attacking you from land you own, why give it to them to make it easier to do reverse containment, with them making your country ever-smaller and more vulnerable? And this guy is the “Defense” Minister and was a General (as well as a very-failed former Prime Minster). And also, why put a band-aid on one gash, when tomorrow, another one will appear on the other end of your body? Israel seeks to protect itself from aerial assault by rockets, but not from land-based attacks on all sides, including the “West Bank” from which it now seeks to surrender.
It’s a good thing we don’t have such Israeli logic in our leaders here in America. Oh, wait, we have the President calling the 19 hijackers “19 kids” in a press conference, today, and we have the chief of “Homeland Security” claiming that all terrorists are in a cave “a half a world away” and not her.
I guess we do have Ehud Barak’s Israeli logic running America, too. That’s why both Israel AND America are losing the War on Terrorism.
The Wise Men of Chelm rule the West. And that’s why we’re doomed.

If you know the Muslims who slaughtered 3,000 of your citizens are out to take over your land and your way of life why are you distributing visas to them?
The Brits allow the Muslims to flourish in Great Britain, to build mosques that preach the destruction of Great Britain and America. They are granting amnesty and political asylum to terrorists.
The Brits’ smart excuse is:
Let’s put them all in one place so we can monitor them!!!!
Yes, you dumb asses, let’s bring all the throat-slitters here at home!!!
George W. Bush and the cowards Israelis followed through.

Debbie, it turns out that its hard to manage a million plus cavemen. its easier to build big walls, patrol them remotely, and shoot down the occasional missile. that way israel can consolidate around the jewish population centers and basically leave the arabs on their own, where they can sink back into the sand. anyway they never annexed the west bank, so it’s not eaxctly a give away, and the missiles will be easier to respond to if there is an arab authority to unleash on. And shalom to Jew Chick.

There must be some kind of Patriot missile system that could be set up around these collections of what Anonymous 1 correctly describes as (cave creatures). Only they’d be computer guided electric mini-guns. When the rocket was detected they’d immediately start firing. The rockets would be knocked out of the air and all of the rounds that didn’t hit the rocket would continue until gravity would take effect. If gravity works for them when they do their celebratory firing gravity can work for Israel also. I’ll bet the rocket firing would stop. I know that our artillery targeting systems are so responsive that we can respond before what the enemy has fired lands.

The wisdom of this Chelm descendant might very well drive Jews to another Chelmno.

So much for surfing “Geneaology.com” regarding ICE’s fabled leadership. Now we know which end of the gene pool they crawled out of.

Remember this is comming from someone who nearly relinquished the West Bank to Yassir Arafat. Why not throw in the surrender of Tel Aviv as part of the Oslo Treaty package, the capital of Israeli left wing extremism? A 5 year old from one of the settlement would know how to deal with the surrounding terrorists who are attacking his neighboorhood than Barak does.
The 19 hijackers were merely kids? Then what does that make OBL, a full grown up shiek? Who’s script is Bush reading from anyways? Making that reference, he makes it seem like as if these jihadists are pranksters as suppose to the blood thirsty murderers that they are.

As a non Jewish supporter of Israel, I always thought Barak was too much of an appeaser to Israel’s enemies. A questionable strategy given the rabid hatred of those that surround her.
On a more light hearted note: Jew Chick seems to have a cyber admirer 🙂

I can still remember when Israel was a country to be feared. Any action against them was met with swift consequences. It seems all governments are open to corruption.
About that “19 kids ” comment by our President . I swear I thought I misunderstood . It is almost like he wants to be friends to everyone except the American people.

Several years ago the IDF was experimenting with a chemical laser based anti-missle system which could actualy shoot down Katusha rockets & artillery shells: http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/missile_systems/systems/THEL.html. One was installed in the Negev desert.
This program was abandoned (for whatever reason) in lieu of (I believe) the Arrow2 rocket based Fence system: http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/missile_systems/surface_missiles/arrow/Arrow.html.
I agree that for internal missile threats, any reactive system is a band aid approach. It’s suicide to allow known belligerants to execute deadly attacks such as the Palestinians have. A strong proactive approach should be used. Israel needs someone with cajones at the helm.

timjansing — you said: “Israel needs someone with cajones at the helm.” That hits the proverbial nail right on the head, my friend.
As Ann Coulter noted in an excellent interview with the “Jerusalem Post” about a year ago, during the Israel/Hezbo fracas (hard to call it a “War” when Israel apparently had absolutely no plans to win it): “If you start a war you have no intention of winning, you lose your land. Next question.”
