Guess the Religion, Submarine Edition

By
**** UPDATE: Well, this time the religion is something other than Islam, and the men with the submarine had no ill intent. That’s THIS time. Thank G-d. ****
So, three guys walk into a makeshift submarine in the East River. . . .
Sorry, no punchline. Just a question: What is the religion of the three men brought in for questioning over a makeshift submarine found New York’s East River, this morning?
Just askin’:

Makeshift submarine found in East River: Vessel found just feet from Queen Mary 2

(New York- WABC, August 3, 2007) – Several people are being questioned by police after being stopped apparently attempting to set sail off Brooklyn in a makeshift submarine-type vessel.

Police say the men were caught in the area of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Downtown Brooklyn, near the Queen Mary 2, just after 11 a.m. this morning.
No threatening devices or materials were found on board the vessel.
The initial indication is this is not terrorism related.
Authorities say they were in a large barrel put together as a type of makeshift “submarine-type vessel,” complete with oxygen tanks.
Officers responded to the area, found the men and are questioning them. Their intent was not immediately clear.

Ri-i-i-i-ght. Hmmm . . . maybe the new Al-Qaeda song can be the Beatles’ “The Yellow (Makeshift) Submarine.”
Thanks to reader Sharon for the tip.

The pictures on the linked site were not too clear. And, their names have not been released. There’s not enough information to give a real good guess.

The articles don’t state the religion, but the fact that the writer preachily insists that it is not terrorist related and refuses to mention the ethnicity or racial background of the men makes it almost certain they were Muslim.
I’m getting so sick of the Department of Homeland Security and law enforcment agencies insisting within minutes of suspicious acts that they don’t “appear” to be terrorist related. A major bridge collapses and it is doesn’t “appear” to be terrorist related. Muslims (most likely) in submarines off of New York City and it doesn’t “appear” to be terrorist related. Some people really lack common sense. It must be too much sensitivity training.

The press said a “Greenpoint man” was arrested. That’s new media code for MUZZIE.

I hate to interrupt the hatefest, but the “makeshift submarine-type vessel” was actually a working replica of the first known working submarine, invented in 1775 by Revolutionary War hero and patriot Nolan Bushnell. The men who built and launched the replica were all white Americans, as can be verified by the pictures on their photo blog at http://www.flickr.com/photos/keylimecom/sets/72157600904315117/ . The only questionable member of their team is their little dog, who appears to be a dangerous Jack Russell Terrorist. http://www.flickr.com/photos/keylimecom/851621244/in/set-72157600904315117/

Slacktide-
Making fun of dhimmi “journalists” is not a “hatefest.” So this time it turned out to be white guys in a revolutionary war submarine. For a minute there, before the facts were in, the MSM “journalists” were really worried it might have actually been Muslims in a strange submarine. Then they would have had to figure out how not to mention their religion, ethnicity, or names.

yeah, totally white guys, one was actually a descendant of the inventor of that submarine.
The odd-looking submarine appears to be a hobby of one of those arrested — Philip Riley, 35, of Brooklyn, Johnson said.
Police said one of the men claimed to be a descendant of David Bushnell, the inventor of the original Turtle, WABC reported.

You’re right Gabe, “Some people really lack common sense”. I mean imagine someone who was not at an event or has any knowledge of an event stating with virtual certainty that the bridge falling was an act of terrorism rather than an infrastructure failure, and that it *must* be Muslims in a makeshift sub. A person with common sense would actually wait until they gain some knowledge of the event before spouting off something like that.

Derek, where did I say that the bridge collapsing in Minneapolis “must” be terrorism? Can you find a quote to back up that assertion? I’ve stated it *might* be terrorism or sabotage, and anyone with any common sense would examine the possibilities, as it is not normal for a bridge that passed inspections to just crumble into a river during rush hour.
Of course, liberals (who completely lack common sense; otherwise they wouldn’t be liberals), don’t even entertain the thought. Jihad? What jihad?

I see it as a totally self-absorbed ‘artiste’. Lives in Brooklyn, what, has he been under a rock since 9/11. Could have called ahead, given the authorities a heads up. “Oh, no, I’m special, everyone knows what’s on my mind”. Somebody should give him a good punch in the head for being so stupid.

If there is an explosion at an abortion clinic, is the first thing that leftists think is that it was an accident? Yet if anyone suspects terrorism in suspicous events post 911, they are branded paranoid? Perspective I guess.

Actually it’s a resurrected outhouse holding tank where muslim jihadists crawl in, close the lid, breathe deeply for hours, and crawl back out to spread the word of “allah chingada” to us infidels.
Seriously, if this is a replica of the “Turtle” and these clowns (one of them claiming to be a descendant of the inventor) were taking off on their little adventure, why didn’t it hit the national media as some historical event? Oh yeah, oxygen tanks, when properly detonated, can be just as deadly as C4 or any other high explosive. Did any of these rocket scientists explore that possibility?
