Gag Me: Most Annoying Lecture From Celebs Yet
In this horrid economy, wanna pay more for electricity, gas for your car, and heat for your home? Well, a bunch of mostly B-list moronic celebrities want you to.
Di-Crappy-O: Loony Leo Wants You to Pay Higher Taxes to Live
I know it’s passe to use the term “gag me,” but the Moon Unit Zappa “Valley Girl” lingo from the ’80s is so appropriate here. The Natural Resource Defense Council sent out a video, today, with the message that these celebs “echo Obama,” in supporting “let’s tax Big Oil and Big Energy more” legislation. Oh, goody. Did someone forget to tell the NRDC that–with the lowest approval rating on record for any Prez beginning his second year in office–that ain’t a good marketing ploy?
The bill they’re pimping on mindless celeb-worshippers–is the falsely-named Clean Energy, Jobs, and American Power Act. But all it is, is a huge tax on companies that will ultimately pass it on to consumers and sock it to already economically demoralized and down-and-out Americans. It will do nothing to stop terrorists or our dependence on oil producing Muslim countries. And I love how these hypocritical celebs, like Jason Bateman–who starred in the pan-terrorist, moral equivalency, pro-Saudi Arabia movie, “The Kingdom” (read my review)–are suddenly so concerned with these countries (they can’t bear to say the world “Muslim”) who “don’t share our values” and support terrorism.
Most of the celebs in the video are second tier except Leonardo DiCrapio, plus there’s the presence of famed racist Cornell West, a Black Panther protege. Yup, “Racists for Taxing Big Energy.” Has a nice ring to it. If you watch, this elitist moralizing by people who drive Lincoln Navigator SUVs (DiCaprio), beware: it’s video ipecac.
The NRDC and these celebs are calling this campaign for new taxes, “This is Your Moment.” No, guys, you had your moment. And you failed. Now, it’s OUR moment. And we’re taking our country back from you sheltered, pampered idiots in LaLaLand.

I really love wealthy people telling poor people to cough up more dough for the environment, while they themselves have multiple mansions at home and abroad that they fly off to in Lear or Gulfstream jets.
