Gag Me: Most Annoying Lecture From Celebs Yet

By Debbie Schlussel

In this horrid economy, wanna pay more for electricity, gas for your car, and heat for your home? Well, a bunch of mostly B-list moronic celebrities want you to.

Di-Crappy-O: Loony Leo Wants You to Pay Higher Taxes to Live

I know it’s passe to use the term “gag me,” but the Moon Unit Zappa “Valley Girl” lingo from the ’80s is so appropriate here.  The Natural Resource Defense Council sent out a video, today, with the message that these celebs “echo Obama,” in supporting “let’s tax Big Oil and Big Energy more” legislation.  Oh, goody.  Did someone forget to tell the NRDC that–with the lowest approval rating on record for any Prez beginning his second year in office–that ain’t a good marketing ploy?

The bill they’re pimping on mindless celeb-worshippers–is the falsely-named Clean Energy, Jobs, and American Power Act.  But all it is, is a huge tax on companies that will ultimately pass it on to consumers and sock it to already economically demoralized and down-and-out Americans.  It will do nothing to stop terrorists or our dependence on oil producing Muslim countries.  And I love how these hypocritical celebs, like Jason Bateman–who starred in the pan-terrorist, moral equivalency, pro-Saudi Arabia movie, “The Kingdom” (read my review)–are suddenly so concerned with these countries (they can’t bear to say the world “Muslim”) who “don’t share our values” and support terrorism.

Most of the celebs in the video are second tier except Leonardo DiCrapio, plus there’s the presence of famed racist Cornell West, a Black Panther protege.  Yup, “Racists for Taxing Big Energy.”  Has a nice ring to it.  If you watch, this elitist moralizing by people who drive Lincoln Navigator SUVs (DiCaprio), beware:  it’s video ipecac.

The NRDC and these celebs are calling this campaign for new taxes, “This is Your Moment.” No, guys, you had your moment. And you failed. Now, it’s OUR moment. And we’re taking our country back from you sheltered, pampered idiots in LaLaLand.

I really love wealthy people telling poor people to cough up more dough for the environment, while they themselves have multiple mansions at home and abroad that they fly off to in Lear or Gulfstream jets.

That was awful…. wretched. I’ll never watch the cute and funny Apple ads the same way again. “Video ipecac” as an apt description.

There’s yet another aspect of this push for so-called “clean” energy (not only does it push up heating, electricity, oil bills for the average consumer — driving them further into bankruptcy, while the Al Gore types continue to live their lavish lifestyles…there’s another aspect…and, O how ironic!). The United States receives a large quantity of its energy sources from Canada…that’s one of your top 10 suppliers…but then, you get Obama administration people making statements about Alberta’s oil sands projects — as in Americans just can’t handle all that “dirty oil” coming from Alberta’s Oil Sands. So what happens? Why, of course, your American celeb “greenies” wanting to deny Canadian imports so then the Obama administration can import more oil from Saudi and other Middle Eastern sources. Yeah, that makes sooo much sense. These so-called “green” celebs should be told precisely where to go.

That’s the stupidity of the modern liberal. The economy is in the worst shape since the great depression but hey, let’s make something that all people need, energy, really expensive.

Have you ever noticed that individuals and factions generally partial to greater state control of economic life, have found the evidence for global warming to be quite compelling? The scary thing is that these clods actually believe that if they give more money to the government, global warming will be stopped.

Global warming is an agenda-driven lie. But let’s say you believe in it. Do you REALLY think that giving the US government more of your tax dollars will stop global warming?

Of course not!

So give it up and get busy doing something important. Want something to do? Support the Open Fuels Standard Act of 2009! That’ll take money out of Uncle Saud’s pocket! You can do it “guilt free” because it’s “carbon neutral” too.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon are not exactly people I would go to for advice on anything. It would be like consulting a pair of bookends on scientific issues.

My goal this year is to get a nice SUV. Who cares if it is a gas guzzler. So this is a bunch of effeminate ‘men’ and sassy bimbos trying to tell me how to live my life? HA!! No wonder Al Qaeda thinks we are a paper tiger. If they truly cared about low emissions then lets crank out nuclear power plants.

THis is the best news I have heard all week!
The guy who campaigns with “I drive a truck” gets elected in the bluest of blue states (actually Reddest of Red). So what do the LIBS do? Hey, everyone, drive Eco-friendly, puddle-jumping, golf carts and PAY MORE TAXES. That is absolutely histerical. Just how stupid are they? Personally, I say a preyer every night that they continue with this line of attack. It means certain death to the Democrat Party. Just last night in the SOTU Speech, The ONE repeatedly claimed to having not raised taxes and to lie about giving tax breaks. The Left will be very upset with their representatives because the last thing they will do in this election year is vote for a tax increase (unless they already said they are not running again so they can spend more time with their families of course).
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the info.
I love it when Celebrities come out of the woodwork and tell the rest of America how we should live. Leo has had his head shoved so far up Gore’s ass DiCrapio is a fitting moniker. He even referes to him as Mr. President.
They all want everyone to buy electric cars, so when California runs out of power again, how are the vehicles going to run? The cost of electricity keeps going up, and will continue to rise with this scheme of theirs. People can’t even keep the heat on in their homes, how are they going to plug in their car?
The cost to produce clean energy, solar, wind, etc. costs more money and burns more fuel to create it. Here in North Dakota we have ethenol, which is produced from corn. It costs more money to produce the ethenol, and it burns twice as fast in your engine, so what was the point?
I truely wish these people would crawl back under the rocks from which they came. Being on TV doesn’t make one brilliant but for some reason we have reality stars, with their home made sex tapes giving advice to the rest of us…Unfrickinbelevable!

Obama Said to Seek $54 Billion in Nuclear-Power Loan Guarantees. Leo must be freaking. The libs will have a melt-down. Let’s get the bus started, cuz the enviro-whackos may be finding a new seat under the bus.

This another liberal, leftist, “feel good” law that is being passed so the guilty-ridden limousine liberals can be attoned for their wealth. Notice how the liberals like EVERYONE to pay for this boondoggle. I never hear them say, ” I am so guilty for being an overpaid, whiner, let me get rid of this money by paying for all these “green technology”. No, they want all of us- working poor and unemployed poorer-still, to pay for this bs. Too bad this do-gooders pay a higher tax amount where 75% goes to state, and federal government.

obama just scrappedthe NASA MOON program, (we found a new mineral on the moon (He3) which could be used as an alternative fuel no C02 emmisions. great. He shut down polands defense shield & Russia moves forward with their new stealth bomber, F15s. O.H. just backstabbed China, by selling weapons to Taiwan, great. They are really mad. Poland sent us a gene cure that stopped our potato fungus from spreading all over the US-it saved our million dollar potato crops–but we slap our allies in the face. These Hollywood stars make millions&millions–fly around in private jets like Peloski, and they tell US how to live??
Look what they did in CA to the water in the valley’s.

I just don’t get Leo’s appeal (physically; his unappealing politics are obvious.) He is an ugly little troll man. I don’t mean to be gratuitously insulting, but….ugggh!

I am, and always have been, a registered Republican. I just got a letter in the mail from Obama/Pelosi Wash. D.C. saying, “Dear fellow Democrat…” then it was filled w/ so many lies, such as,”…we have put America on the path to a brighter, more prosperous future…every American is now guaranteed affordable health ins….our economy has begun to recover after the worst financial crisis in 75 yrs…companies are beginning to hire, our neighbors are finding jobs and entrepeneurs are starting businesses to provide new goods and services…we have lowered the cost of a college education…WHEN I TALKED ABOUT CHANGE IN MY PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN, THIS IS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT: COMING TOGETHER ON BEHALF OF THE AMERICAN PPL TO SOLVE BIG PROBLEMS AND BUILD A STRONGER, MORE HOPEFUL FUTURE FOR ALL.” Can y’all believe the bs he has the nerve to spout?!? I sent him back a scathing reply w/ his S.A.S.E but I’m sure all they’ll look at is whether or not I sent any money. I’m sad for the American ppl.
