Elgin Tyrell Makes Michael Vick Tees

By
Earlier today, I about Nike and the NFL refusing to drop Michael Vick. Elgin Tyrell took a different tack. I post one of his t-shirts below, but you must click over to his site to see the other and some of his other clever graphics about people and events in the news.

Now Elgin, time to start selling these Ts over at Cafe Press and earning some cash out of it. I, myself, prefer something a little less violent, so my self-designed T-shirt would be “Just Do It . . . Fire Them,” with a pic of Vick over a Nike swoosh and an NFL logo.

Convict Vick. I would wear this or any other t- shirt to show my disgust for him.

I would like to see some Joseph Mengele (maybe Phil Knight could be Adolf H.) or Jeffrey Dahmer tie in.
Or maybe one of my larger cousins making a cat toy and then a happy meal out of him.

If the NFL don’t ban him for life….I’ll still be a ravens fan, but I’ll lose interest in the NFL. I’m glad EA Sports has the NFL exclusive videogame rights….so that way I don’t have to worry about supporting him with my money. All-Pro Football 2K8 FTW!!

Oh, if only we could tie his hands and legs and leave him in a pen with a bunch of angry pitbulls . . .
But as we know, there is no justice in this world.
Please, please, let him do time.

Now, that’s funny!

Interesting comments, but I strongly urge folks to not engage in the same kind of “rush-to-judgement” frenzy and lynch-mob mentality that got those kids at Duke unfairly accused or has several US marines wrongly on trial for murder.
If Vick is guilty of playing an active role in this dogfighting ring, then he deserves to go jail time and lose his career. He’s already lost millions of dollars. However, with so many other ills hitting our society, it’s hard for me to get worked up over dogfighting. Yes, Vick needs his butt whupped for letting himself even be associated with such a vile and cruel underground “sport”, but I fail to understand the level of passion over this and how people are getting so worked up. If Vick were linked to international terrorism or a child pornography ring, I could understand. But dogfighting? I’ve loved dogs since I was a child, but I’m a lot more concerned with what I see human beings doing to each other every day….dogfighting is way down on my list of social ills that need to be shut down.
Please forgive my naivete, but someone please enlighten me as to why anyone outside of PETA should be frothing at the mouth over this…

Why don’t people get upset when babies’ brains are sucked out of their head and their legs and arms ripped off so their body can fit through the birth canal and then they are thrown into the trash can?
I am against dog fighting like the rest of you but is it not his choice to have dogs kill each other?
When will society stop treating animals as humans and humans as blobs of flesh?

With that question, you have said much about yourself.

Feralcat9, I hope I have. It says I care far more about child abuse, international terrorism, spousal abuse, rape, child pornography, the recent spate of kidnapped and murdered young women, unguarded borders, identity theft, the plague of drugs and homicide in my former neighborhood etc. For example, my elderly mother’s home was burglarized two weeks ago, but I thank God she wasn’t home to encounter the burglars. These are the things that really get my blood pressure up, not whether Michael Vick was foolishly involved in some stupid dogfighting ring. Besides, I learned my lesson with the Duke rape case….I’ll let this case play itself out in the justice system before I start calling for someone to be dismembered by pit bulls…
Dogfighting is indeed horrible, but I don’t lose sleep over it. But we as Americans tend to “major in minors” (and I’m just as guilty) and get outraged over things that have very little impact on our daily lives.
