Un-PC “Song” of the Day: “Pants on the Ground”
If you’ve been paying attention to the latest season (Season 9) of “American Idol” (and I haven’t–that show long ago jumped the shark), you’ve already seen this. But for the rest of us, you gotta see this funny audition by “General” Larry Platt, who was apparently some sort of figure in the civil rights movement in the ’60s (and was part of radical groups like SNCC). He “sings” (a very charitable term) “Pants on the Ground,” a rap mocking the culture in urban America, where pants are so low they’re constantly falling to the ground (see also here), where people where stupid-looking gold and jewel-encrusted “grills” in their mouths, and where they look stupid with their baseball hats turned to the side. He, um, “touches” on each of these.

Get the right size belt and tighten it. If you wear exposed underwear by habit, you’re showing yourself to be a low class person. Is decency as a habit really that hard to carry forward in this country?
The Dumbing Down Of America continues.
