I reviewed the links you provided to form my own opinion.
Yes, Oprah has allowed many things to go unchallenged and does lousy research. That is as far as I will go and will not assign motive to her. If memory serves, Oprah rarely challenges her guests like an O’reilly or Hannity would. She used to be a reporter, and now she is merely a talk show host.
She is pablum and polenta for the mind.
Yes, she will take on a profound and deeply distubing topic now and then. It is more about expectations, our expectations, as to how a personality will conduct an interview.
It is easy to think that any individual with the forum and resources at her disposal would be more focused and determined to get at the truth. Alas, for hard news and information, I do not have such expectations for Oprah.
Her failure is of ommission, not so much of commission. Our failure, is that we expect more from her, and we just ain’t gonna get it.

I’m not an oprah fan. I do hope she does shed a light on the whole Israel situation though. I did watch her show for the holocaust special and liked it..other than that, I really don’t care for her show at all.
