My New Hero, Jason Whitlock

By
Yesterday, I on the whole Imus debacle. Well, since then, Whitlock appeared on several national TV news shows, including MSNBC’s annoying bowtied geek, to discuss further what he said in the column.
And all I can say is: Jason Whitlock, Bravo! I do disagree with one comment he made, though. He said that much of Black America has no respect for Weird Al Sharpton and Jesse Salad-spitter Jackson. And while, they’re certainly not as popular as they once were, they’re both still mighty popular enough in Black America–as evidenced by the huge crowds and following they have, at least here in Detroit. And as evidenced by Imus’ dual firings.
The video is under five minutes and well worth watching (not for Bow-tie, but definitely for Whitlock).

BTW, love hearing how the bow-tied FAKE conservative likes racist Al Sharpton a lot personally. I’ve had my own several experiences with Sharp, including when I slaughtered him on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect” and he couldn’t take it. I know it won’t take much suspension of belief to believe me when I say that the guy is NOT personally likeable. Period. He’s the same in person as he seems on TV–a bigoted thug.
Thanks to The Big Lead for the tip.

I would love to see that! Is it on youtube? You taking apart Sharpton! If you can repost it, please.

Jason Whitlock is a brave and intelligent man. He speaks truth to lies. I agree with you, Debbie. I have encountered Sharpton a few times while shooting video interviews for cable TV shows. He’s a repulsive toad. I saw him a couple of weeks ago. He looks like s**t. Could be a Slim-Fast O.D. He’s a blowhard and an egotistical clown. Why anyone takes him seriously is a mystery.

I’ve blogged about Mr. Whitlock before. He is the most intelligent voice on this subject that I have heard.

What is it about Jason Whitlock’s upbringing that allows him to bring honesty and intelligence to his work? Yet Sharpton and Jackson can do no better than bigotry when doing their work.
The next time you see the brothers Sharpton/Jackson on tv, send an email to the station telling what you think. They are on the brink of obsolescence; it will not take much to help them over.
You can reach Jason Whitlock at:

You count. Make your opinion count, too.

I agree wholeheartedly with Whitlock’s profound and honest statement but I must differ with Debbie’s assertion that he was incorrect “that much of Black America has no respect for Weird Al Sharpton and Jesse Salad-spitter Jackson.” I know PLENTY of minority folk(African Americans included) that do not care for Sharpton and Jackson. How exactly does anyone KNOW how the African-American community feels as there are variances WITHIN the community? My contentions with the Imus debacle mirror Whitlock’s, which where highlighted in my blog as well. The media has been very adept at the compartmentalization of Black folk-stressing a one note box….and this must be eradicated. If Imus goes then I will hold the heel to ALL people of varying racial strata to DEMAND that this gangsta/minstrel/street culture be put to the same standard that this shock jock has endured. EVERYONE suffers when an inaccurate portrayal of people of color is endorsed by the corporate structures of this country. Will anyone march and write letters to companies like Reebok for endorsing people like 50 cent?…that will be the true test.

AFRONERD:
WHILE THERE MAY BE DIVISIONS IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY OVER THOSE TWO, THE FACT IS THAT IN POLL AFTER POLL OF THE MOST ADMIRED BLACK AMERICANS, THEY (AND LOUIS FARRAKHAN) CONSTANTLY ARE IN THE TOP FIVE POSITIONS AND CONTINUE TO DRAW LARGE CROWDS OF BLACKS WHEN THEY MAKE APPEARANCES. WHEN THOSE TWO THINGS CHANGE, THEN I’LL BELIEVE THAT ENOUGH BLACKS HAVE DECIDED THEY DON’T SUPPORT THE TWO. UNTIL THEN, THEY REMAIN ENORMOUSLY POPULAR IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY. I’M GLAD TO HEAR, THOUGH, THAT YOU FEEL THEIR SUPPORT IS DROPPING. MAY G-D SPEED THAT DECLINE.

Debbie, I keep meeting Jews who will tell me how they support Israel and then tell me how they are left wing Democrats. That’s like saying you support Black people but belong to the Klan. I’ve had enough.

Great Post DS. There are some good guys who do get it. Jason is one of them–nice work.

One other thing that makes Jason Whitlock a hero in my book is how he took on ESPN and got dumped for it.
Here’s a link talking about it:

I say Mr. Whitlock is a hero for that because ESPN is such a heavy influence. What’s worse is they are very liberal with most of their reporters, such as Mike Lupica (who Whitlock blasted big time!, a great thing), Mitch Albom, Tom Jackson, the truly repugnant Robin Roberts (who isn’t with them any more I don’t think), and worst of all time Keith Olber(wo)mann.

Where are Al and Jesse, those civil rights activists, to protest the HEINOUS kidnap, torture, rape, mutiliation, and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome, a young white couple on a date who crossed paths with 5 black “race hater” thugs, one of them a woman, no less? Why isn’t the media covering this race hate story? Why was it so important to hear ad nauseum about a black stripper ho who “might have been raped” by three white boys from Duke, but we hear nothing about this case in which many actual crimes occurred?
I am beyond horrified and disgusted. Why doesn’t anyone in the media call Al and Jesse and Farrakhan on the carpet for this crap? I also wonder how much gangsta rap music influenced these subhuman fiends’ idea of a “good time.”

AmericanJewess on April 15, 2007 at 10:54 am

It would appear that virtually 99% of the problems faced by the U.S., both internally and externally, can be traced to the root of one primary cause—a “politically correct” culture that has short-circuited rational thought and intellectual accountability.

JSobieski on April 15, 2007 at 11:17 am

“Why doesn’t anyone in the media call Al and Jesse and Farrakhan on the carpet for this crap?”
Indeed! That is why I think that Debbie is closer to the truth of the matter. Or we are all naive about what really drives and who runs the media??
For it makes no sense that the majority of blacks don’t support them and almost no whites yet they continue to get not only the bully pulpit but influence as well?? Why??

I think there’s a little hair-splitting happening
regarding the “dispute” as to how popular Jackson
and Sharpton actually are;Conservative blacks are deliberately marginalized.Largely the media and obviously dumbass Imus, whose first stop on his “I’m SINCERELY ashamed..The World Tour was Sharpton’s show make Sharpton Sharpton.Likewise,Conservative Jews are dealt with the same way…maybe worse…try comparing this site to say,JN’The Detroit Jewish News,or..say The ADL(The Jewish version of the Jackson/Sharpton crowd in terms of mentality/not criminal behavior)which recently charged Dennis Prager with bigotry on its website for condemning
Keith Ellison’s “Islamic syle” confirmation ceremony.

jaywilton on April 15, 2007 at 3:05 pm

You white diversity-lovers think you’re going to drive a wedge by supporting ‘moderate’ blacks, but you’re wrong. The other 99% will continue their Black Supremacy movement, along with all the other races, until you dumb whites are the minority everywhere. And then they’ll still hate you, stupid. There’s no model for ‘diversity’; there’s just one race supplanting another.

davidlanham on April 15, 2007 at 5:33 pm

AmericanJewess, amazing, isn’t it? Even people in Nashville don’t know about that story. You have to be in Knoxville and hear it on the local news.

davidlanham on April 15, 2007 at 5:40 pm

Jason Whitlock’s comments almost give me hope for a future for this country…but that’s probably too optimistic. Sharpton and Jackson have profited by the demise of African American neighborhoods all over this country; they are completely drunk in power. It baffles me that they can refer to themselves as ministers of the gospel, while Islam remains the fastest growing religion in American black neighborhoods.
They have no concern about losing black communities to crime, abuse of women, drugs, prostitution..or to Islam, but give either of them a chance to get on the tube to discuss the Duke case, or something that Imus…(one of the least significant radio talk show hosts in this country) says, and they are all over it.
Martin Luther King would be utterly ashamed of what Jackson and Sharpton have done to the American Civil rights movement.
