“Two Very Fine Guys Who’d Add to Our Community”: Amherst In Love With Gitmo Terrorists (FIXED)

By Debbie Schlussel

This is so sad, it’s hilarious.  This is the future of our country.  And these are the jerks who elected Obama.  The people of Amherst, Massachusetts are lusting after two Gitmo terrorists–Ahmed Bel Bacha, of Algeria and Ravil Mingazov of Russia–whom they badly want to live in their midst.

This 82-year-old chick, Ruth Hooke, looks like she did a little too much hooking up and toking during the sixties.  She says they  seem “like very fine guys who would add a lot to our community.”  The rest of the dolts–Jeff Van Peski (very appropriate surname) and Bridget Dahill–are similarly drug-addled.

G-d help this country with idiots like this deciding our future. “Idiocracy” isn’t just a movie. It’s real.

Thanks to my friend, the great Brett Winterble of Covert Radio Show, for the tip.

Fantastic assessment, Debbie!

“This is so sad, it’s hilarious. This is the future of our country.”

It is the future.

“G-d help this country with idiots like this deciding our future. ”

Those brainwashed pagans are the deciders.

““Idiocracy” isn’t just a movie. It’s real.”

This close-out was superb!

Debbie, at least they’re assuming the risk. I’d have a different reaction if they forced them on us. Let the idiots have the Islamists live with them!

No way could any one make up those names. Van Pesk(y)i? Hooke(r)? ROFL
but I think old Ruth was a bit past the toking stage in the 60’s. At 82 more likely she was an early Beatnik grooving on Allen Ginsberg and pals in the 1950’s Village.

I agree with NOrman F. If Amherst want’s them let them handle the mess.

M: I thought about that–her age. But 40 years ago, at the end of the ’60s, she’d have been in her early 40s. She could very well have taken advantage of the ’60s hippie lifestyle in her mid-30s and beyond, to take up “what she’d been missing.” DS

Yeah there were a few Peter Pan types who’d never quite made the beat Generatins so they hung out with the flower children to sort of have one last shot at “freedom”

You had quite a few hangers on who were over thirty by the late 1960’s. Abbie Hoffman was born in 1936, and would have been 32 in 1968. He had finished his graduate work nearly a decade before that, and could not be seriously considered a “young person” as defined then. You could also bring up Allen Ginsburg, though he did stradle the Beat and Counter Culture periods. He was 42 by 1968. So, the 60’s Revolution was less youthful than conveyed by the media at the time and later. Many of its guiding forces were considerably older than the rank and file.

If anyone is interested, this is the article form the Worcester (MA) Telegram about the amherst invitation for the Gitmo-ites. http://www.telegram.com/article/20091021/NEWS/910210399

This sort of makes sense. given the main campus for UMASS is in Amherst, and that it’s right next door to Northampton (home of lesbian central, Smith College), it fits their profile. That area is like the east coast version of San Francisco.

I grew up in Springfield, a bit south of Amherst, but find it much saner in VA where I now live.

My only problem with the “Let the idiots have the Islamists live with them” comments is that there are still three or four normal people living in Amherst and they’ll have to pay the price for what the nuts do.

Why not go a step further. Since these people love terrorists so much, make them live with each other. Don’t forget to cover up everything except you eyes, Ruthie.

If you’ve never lived in or near the Happy Valley, you wouldn’t understand. The Amherst area is home to Amherst College, UMass Amherst, Hampshire College, Smith, and Mt. Holyoke College. With a pedigree like that, the town of Amherst has been doomed by ivory-towered liberals and their hangers-on for over a century.

It’s too bad, too, because it’s some of the most beautiful landscape in the country.

But the reaction of Hooker, van Peski, et al, does not surprise me one single bit.

If the liberal idiots, er, I mean, GOOD PEOPLE of Amherst want to have these Guantanamo thugs living in their community, let them. I also believe that since Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein say that the people and prisons of San Francisco and Northern California would be happy to host the Guantanamo detainees, send them there as well. Frankly, until the Islamofascists start attacking these liberal enclaves, these leftie hippies won’t wake up to the very dangerous realities of life in the New Millenium. But let them bomb the Golden Gate bridge or Fisherman’s Wharf, and I think you’d be hearing a very different tune.

Have any of you ever been to Amherst, MA? I live in the Peoples Republik of Massachusetts. I do business with a music company there and on any given day, you can see the commies protesting whatever is in vogue for the cause celebre of the red diaper doper babies. It is a strange place. It has all the weirdness of Cambridge, MA in a more pictureque setting. It is the home of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Just think, 25,000 young inpressionable young minds being inculcated with this Marxist “Hate America” crap. Nothing suprises me from these people. William Buckley was right about 50,000 Marxist professors on U.S. college campuses. They are now reaping the reward of their toil. The man in the White House is proof of this. I just wonder how long it is before the folks in Amherst turn on President Obama as he increasingly becomes the “man” and thus the establishment? Communism eats its own, and the wolves of Al Quada will eat them, the red diaper doper babies…
