It is grotesque. The Oscar viewership, from what I have read, is down 8% from last year. All of the phony controversies that it courts have not endeared it to audiences.

‘Bridge of Spies’ makes Rylance’s character sympathetic in the sense that he’s a true believer who doesn’t waver but the notion that it makes the Soviet bureaucrats, interrogators and the system they serve in any way sympathetic is totally false.

I’m not surprised in the slightest that Rylance got the Academy Award. The Academy always favors leftist, anti-Israel, Islamopandering nominees. The only thing that surprised me is that he didn’t use the Oscar win as an opportunity to make a speech spreading his political poison.

And, it also helps that he had Steven Spielberg in his corner, who, surprisingly is strongly “pro-Israel.” We’re supposed to assume this is so because Spielberg has Jewish heritage and because Spielberg has said he’s “pro-Israel”:

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think it takes much imagination at all to envision a Spielberg as being more strongly pro-Israel, to put it mildly. Like maybe not going out of your way to employ anti-Israel performers? I guess I’m part of that “constituency” that Spielberg refers to where we insist on looking at a person through the prism of reality, where we base our view of a person’s positions primarily based on their actions, not so much their words, particularly when their actions say one thing and their words the opposite.

I have not watched the Oscars in a long time and this is one of the many reasons why. I am glad that these anti-Semites show their true colors so that way I can avoid seeing their movies on the cinemas. What ever happened to the actors thanking everyone including their grandmas and then be gone from stage?

I blame the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences for allowing this crap to happen year after year. Again this is one of the many reasons why it is best to watch Impractical Jokers on Spike Tv or anything else than the Oscars.

I haven’t watched the oscars in Decades, but the anti semtic thing has been going on forever. I find better movies coming out of other countries but I guess everyone has noticed the anti anything that isn’t muslim these days? .In these times Israel really needs our support because if the scum presently being supported by Turkey and obama ( and the leftist sheep) manage a return from their slide to oblivion there’s no stopping them. As for the Brits, I feel for those who love their England but they are being drowned in a sea of cult followers who are insisting that sharia has a place in the legal system…

I think she is correct.
My husband and I just recently watched Bridge of Spies and had not read anything at all about it. I had no idea he was connected to the Rosenbergs. I remember as a kid seeing lots of movies that involved the Berlin Wall, a wall that anyone under 40 has no real clue about; so I was glad to see a current movie trying to capture the harsh reality of a divided city. BUT, the movie did persuade me in ways that I was uncomfortable with afterwards. Now I know why. Anyway, there it is, the world as we knew it is going to crap, and we are all screwed. Knowledge is at its all time lows thanks to all the manipulative and corrosive methods of teaching our young ones from K-12 and beyond.
