Illegal Alien USA: One in 10 “American” Workers CAN’T Speak English; Muslim Aliens Invade Job Mkt; Large Cities in US Can’t Speak English

By Debbie Schlussel

If there is any stark hint at how fast illegal aliens are taking over America and infiltrating the job market, it’s the fact that one in ten U.S. workers cannot speak English. That’s more than 2.5 times the percentage in 1980. And it’s at a time when many native-born U.S. citizens who can speak English fluently remain unemployed. Even more disturbing is that large, significant percentages of America’s largest cities cannot speak English . . . and that smaller cities also now have growing, statistically significant percentages of the population who cannot speak English.

englishproficiency1englishproficiency

illegalalienssmaller2.jpgmuslimgivingthefinger.jpg

The tone of the news report on this is a sob story over the non-English speakers, when it’s really a tragedy about how American citizens are being edged out of the economy by illegal aliens. And it’s not just those from Spanish-speaking countries. It’s Muslims from Somalia and other places that are Islamic terrorist central.

Almost one in 10 adults of working age in the U.S. has limited proficiency in English, more than 2.5 times as many as in 1980, curbing their job prospects and ability to contribute to the economy. Two-thirds of the 19.2 million people who have limited English are Spanish speakers. However, Asians and Pacific Islanders are most likely to have limited proficiency relative to their size of the overall population, according to a new report produced by the Metropolitan Policy Program of the Brookings Institution.

Immigrant workers and their children will account for most of the growth in the U.S. labor force in the coming decades, independent projections show. . . . “English proficiency is a strong predictor of economic standing among immigrants, regardless of the amount of education they have attained, and it is associated with the greater academic and economic success of the workers’ children,” said Jill H. Wilson, the study’s author.

So, if they don’t speak English, you will end up paying their welfare benefits. And if they do learn English, you will end up unemployed after they take your job . . . and end up paying their welfare benefits. It’s a lose-lose/can’t-win situation.

About 45 million people in the U.S., or more than 20% of working-age adults—defined as those 16 to 64 years old—speak a language other than English at home, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. While more than half of them speak English very well, many of them struggle. Based on data from the Census Bureau’s 2012 American Community Survey, Brookings ranked U.S. metropolitan areas by the size and the share of the population that is limited English proficient and the growth in that population in recent years.

While most English-limited adults live in large metropolitan areas, traditional magnets for immigrants, their numbers have grown markedly in smaller metropolitan areas that more recently began to absorb Latin American immigrants and refugees from Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Translation: Muslims, Muslims, and more Muslims. How long until they reach critical mass electorally? Not that long. Just a few generations.

And this is the alarming paragraph:

In Los Angeles and Miami, about a quarter of the working-age population has limited English. In greater New York, limited-English residents account for 18% of the population. Smaller cities, such as Indianapolis and Omaha, Neb., are for the first time facing the challenges of a sizable group with limited English. In Indianapolis, the limited-English population jumped 99% between 2000 and 2012; in greater Omaha, that population surged 95% during that period, the study showed. . . .

Lack of English proficiency doesn’t prevent immigrant workers from obtaining employment. But those who are proficient boast higher income at all levels of educational attainment, the report says. . . . Because not all immigrants have limited English and proficiency improves over time, the population that isn’t proficient hasn’t grown as rapidly as the overall foreign-born population. Despite the fact that the share of the foreign working-age population climbed to 16% in 2012 from 7% in 1980, the proportion with limited English was 9.3% in 2012, the report says.

Somalis Abdikarim Omar, 32 years old, and his sister Hana, 21, already knew some English when they moved to Indianapolis this summer. They currently take an advanced English course at the refugee resettlement agency. Mr. Omar says it has helped him reach the point where he can start interviewing for jobs in computer technology, his area of interest. His sister says, “I’m improving by the day” and hopes to enroll in college and work part-time in coming months.

Yeah, Somalianapolis! Hmmm . . . how many U.S. citizens are looking for jobs in computer technology and can’t get them? A whole lot. Tens–probably hundreds–of thousands.

So I have the solution: let’s bring in more Muslim immigrants from Somalia who can’t speak English and do support Al-Shabaab, and let’s train them! Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Aleikum As-salaam, America. It was nice knowin’ ya.

And by the way, this wasn’t just an Obama thing. This was a Reagan thing, a Bush the Father thing, a Clinton thing, and especially–since he should have gotten the message from 9/11 but didn’t and pretended to be the counter-terrorism/national security Prez but wasn’t–a Bush the Son thing. (As I’ve already repeatedly pointed out, Bush lobbied for and even held a signing ceremony to make it harder for us to deport illegal alien “kids.”) Obama ran on supporting and enabling these groups of people. The Republicans pretended they were entirely different on this issue and would secure the borders. But there was no difference (because those on the right never insisted on one and eagerly bought the hype-filled BS). My side, right or wrong! Yeah!

And now we have an America that is irreparable and long gone. It’s not a matter of if, just when.

I only read the headline so far. I will read the article after penning this comment, but I have to comment. LEGAL immigrants who seek citizenship HAVE to know English. They HAVE to take a test IN ENGLISH, about US history and the Constitution which they must pass. They have an interview with an immigration official IN ENGLISH and have to be approved. They HAVE TO pass medical and criminal screenings. They also HAVE TO pay several hundred dollars in fees. It takes a couple of years to do. Sounds like a reasonable system to me, a “path to citizenship” that everybody (liberals) are hollering about. If you don’t work it, it doesn’t work. I have to read the article now.

Tommy Thomas on September 26, 2014 at 12:22 pm

Tommy, you are wrong. I helped my wife pass the citizenship test a couple years ago. She did not have to read or write English…can’t remember but it may have to do with how long she had been state side. It may be true for those just entering the US, however. I even believe she could have requested an onterpreter, but it was not needed.

Someone else can help out, but I do not believe the US has an official language or requirements to use a certain language.

Visteo on September 27, 2014 at 3:46 pm

You show me an Adjudication Officer (today officially called ‘Immigration Service Officer’) who is cracking-the-whip and enforcing the language proficiency element of N-400, and I will show you an employee with a lousy annual appraisal. It is that simple. You don’t dare say NO. The relaxed standards are wholesomely referred to as the ‘whole person’ approach in today’s CIS.

    #1 Vato on September 29, 2014 at 4:21 pm

“Path to Citizenship” is a buzz-phrase that will not die. It sounds so innocent to see news footage of thousands of EWI’s crossing the border, that we sanitize it by calling it a ‘Path to Citizenship’. We ignore billions spent on Welfare because it is a humanitarian ‘path’. Like looking at a class of graduating Kindergarten students and proclaiming it to be a “Path to Medical School”. Not all the little numbnut retards will have the academic discipline to become physicians or professionals, and more importantly, not all of them will WANT to become doctors, or even productive members of society. A lot of Legal Residents in this country will never become naturalized US Citizens, because they don’t WANT to.

    #1 Vato on September 29, 2014 at 6:43 pm

Agreed.

But as I noted on the other thread – its not just immigrants – American converts to Islam are ground zero, too.

They’re not more moderate or patriotic than who come here from abroad and are just as dangerous and even more so cuz they speak perfect English.

And are the wolves in sheep’s clothing in the American flock. Welcome to the future of America.

NormanF on September 26, 2014 at 12:28 pm

More evidence that Republicans are not the common American’s friend. Big Business LOVES these low-wage, non-English speaking workers as it keeps their costs down directly or indirectly suppressing wages across the board.

So the next time your typical R is out there bloviating about stopping illegal invasions and ripping the Ds about allowing it; put your thinking cap on. Notice how the Rs do precious little to prevent, correct, or punish illegal invasions of our country.

More effort and concern was put into a couple of crazies hopping the White House fence. Meanwhile, millions of illegal alien invaders are pouring over the border “fence” every month and our government can’t be bothered to do anything about it.

Rs. Ds. Yankees. Red Sox. Reds. Blues. All the same consequence.

I guess if Bush was your kind of Republican you might feel so let down you’d still be going on about him but whatever.
Bringing up Reagan is slightly ridiculouso because although you could make some kind of historical amnesty parallel the situation is entirely different today politically and otherwise.
If not then there’s nothing to worry about because things worked out OK after his presidency.

Obama appreciates the comparison no doubt, especially after his UN speech.
I leave that crapola to “liberals”. They buy it.
When was the last time Bush compared politically agitated civil unrest in the US to Al Qaeda terrorism? Never or not yet anyway but who knows?
He likes blending into the background Obama inc. creates for him like so many others these days.

Apparently the American people are speaking through Obama and what they’re saying is mostly lies but that’s the new American way.
See how long you can endure it.

Ultimately it’s not immigrants that are pushing Americans out of jobs it’s welfare programs doing what they do everywhere else in the world.
That’s why the vacuum exists in the US and everywhere else.
Despair you can get anywhere.

I’m sure we can do better. Let’s allow even more non-English speaking (ever) people into the country and flood the job market. They already speak 224 languages in LA County, California with 92 identified in the school system there. Oh, glory day.

Because America is not only overtaken by illegal aliens but also by low-info, Tasmanian devil, know-nothings like on the Hannah Graham thread.

It’s one thing when they roll their dumb eyes and gnash their rotting teeth but I am most offended by how they don’t really care about what happens to silly chicks who dress as if the world is full of benign Lesbians.

Or that the average Yank is being sold out by the elite class and the vermin they throw scraps to, to keep their power.

Welcome to the Third World. We can go back to the days when there was a huge underclass. Of course, racial and religious tensions will be encouraged in order to maintain elite supremacy. This state of affairs can be found in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

My parents and many of my relatives came from the West Indies, they migrated to this nation from an English-speaking West Indian country/island, so they had no issues when coming to the US to learn English (yes, many of them had the foreign accent, but still spoke/speaks good English). And it’s said that the main dialect of this country is English, that may be true, however in a handful of Native American tribes, they speak numerous languages, languages that us non-Native Americans aren’t familiar with.

Now to the OT, my assumption (not a conspiracy-theorist) is that corporations that hires illegal-aliens are doing it for “cheap-labor” and possibly could care less for those who are national-born to this country, and/or immigrants from other countries who speaks English and adapts to the nations laws, etc.? I think it’s cheap labor on why there’s such an amount of non-English speaking folks in the US workforce?

As for Indianapolis look to Richard Lugar a friend of open immigration. Also look at the faith based ideology…..It’s all love, love, love. No law, a God without the Word.
After all if you can’t speak or understand the law of the land you will break it and no assimilation.

How do you (an American citizen) feel about being tax income producing property of Mexico, you as property are a tax income to gov financing Mexico’s illegal operations in the U.S.! You are more particularly income producing property as you don’t have any rights in the matter!

Please read the United Nations 1948 (Unanimous) Universal Declaration Of Human Rights, particularly Articles 23 (your right to a job and illegals have no right to a job in America) and 16 (heterosexual marriage).

How did the Supreme Court break this American agreement with the United Nations and 47 or so of the 50 states who also signed the declaration?

Worry01 on September 27, 2014 at 6:45 pm

Sorry, this post is not totally on topic. I just got through seeing Zuhdi Jasser on tv again, and wondered if he really is a “moderate” Muslim. He seems pleasant enough. But, in my websearch, I soon came across Debbie Schlussel’s blog, which is more than mildly hostile to Zuhdi.
The question that really concerns me is not about Zuhdi in particular. My question is this: IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE FOR ANY PERSON TO BE A MODERATE MUSLIM, if that means being a Muslim who is a person of peace, who supports freedom of conscience (freedom of religion), freedom of thought, and equality for women? My doubts here stem from what was expressed by another person on Debbie’s site to the effect that to be a Muslim is to be a follower of Mohammed, and since Mohammed thought women were of less worth than men, and since he thought no Kafir can have the rights of any Muslim, and since he thought that any Kafir (non-Muslim) could be lied to, murdered, raped, or robbed, and since Mohammed is supposed to be the last Prophet (speaking directly for Allah), IT FOLLOWS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A MUSLIM WHILE BELIEVING THAT WOMEN OR KAFIR ARE EVER THE EQUALS OF MUSLIMS. Moreover, given that Mohammed himself had 800 or so Jewish men in Medina beheaded, dividing their wives and children and wealth between himself and his warriors as loot, how is it possible to be a genuine Muslim while loving and following Mohammed, a moral monster?
The more I read about Islam, the more puzzled I am about how it could be possible to be a believer, say, in women’s rights and be a Muslim. It would be like my claiming to be a Christian (a follower of Christ), but claim to be a “moderate” Christian because I feel that we should slaughter rather than forgiving those who tresspass against us. that isn’t being a moderate Christian because it isn’t being a follower of Christ.
A young woman recently told me that her Muslim friends in Iran did not believe women were inferior to men, did not think it was OK to kill Christians for refusing to convert to Islam, etc. But she said those young Muslims did not believe the Koran — they found its morality primitive and savage. It seems to me that they then qualified as “moderate” Muslims only by abandoning their religion. “Muslim” was their ethnicity, not their religion, just as many of my Jewish friends were atheists, so that they were Jewish only ethnically or culturally, just as I am only an “Ethnic Christian” — a non-believer who was raised in a Christian community.
So, I ask you all: It is possible to be a “moderate” Muslim without giving up the Muslim religion? I do not see how. For, it seems that fundamentalism is built into the very fabric of Islam. The very word “Islam” means “submission.” You cannot question the unchanging word of Allah as given by His last Prophet.
So, is it possible for anyone to be a “reform” Muslim? If a person claims in public to be a reform Muslim or to be a moderate Muslim, I want to ask them, “Exactly which of the teachings of Muhammed do you soften or reject, so that you can be considered a REFORM Muslim or a MODERATE Muslim? Where exacly was Mohammed wrong?” If they cannot answer that, they are not a moderate. Am I wrong? WJH

William J. Holly, Ph.D. , Philosophy on September 28, 2014 at 1:31 am

There is no such thing as a moderate Muslim. You will never see a Muslim denounce Islamic terrorists. Not even Zudhi Jasser will state that up front.

Since they’re agnostic on the question of Muslim loyalty to this country and its people – it can only mean they think Muslims owe loyalty first and foremost not to America but to Dar Islam.

This is in the fact the way they think. Borders, flags, passports and national ties have no meaning for them. We should certainly let them all go to Syria/Iraq and die in jihad and let Allah sort it all out.

What we should not be doing is letting them back into this country. The Democrats think its fine for us to bomb Islamic terrorists half a world a way but they think its unAmerican to support Sen. Ted Cruz’s bill to denaturalize returning Islamic terrorists and prevent them from murdering more of us here.

Maybe we can’t do something about Islamic terrorist sleeper cells already in our midst; but nothing in the Constitution and US laws requires that we facilitate with our own hands this country’s suicide by Islam. We have the duty and the right to protect ourselves from those who would destroy us.

If that’s now being called Islamophobia, I could care less. The problem is not us; the problem is those who hate us and want to see us dead and they’re called Muslims. The President can pretend all he wants that’s not true but the rest us of us are not obligated to follow him blindly.

G-d gave us brains and let’s use them.

NormanF on September 28, 2014 at 8:19 am

“Exactly which of the teachings of Muhammed do you soften or reject, so that you can be considered a REFORM Muslim or a MODERATE Muslim?” –

Luckily for Muslims Muhammad(peace seldom wanted to know him) made it easy for his followers.
You follow the more peaceful/moderate Quran verses when you’re in a position of weakness.
You follow the more violent ones which come later later on when you’re in a position of strength.
In this way a Muslim can be both moderate and immoderate at the same time.
That is the way of Muhammad and westerner’s generally have a problem dealing with that because it seems hypocritical.
For Muslims it’s simply a matter of emulating the life of the man who gave the perfect example.
Islam is dualistic so there is no contradiction or if there is it doesn’t matter.
At the end of the day all that matters is the ascendancy of Islam. Might makes right. The ends justify the means.
If the Islamic State is successful they are the real Muslims. If they fail then not so much. Nothing succeeds like success. End of story in Islam.

People are going to have to get a handle on this at some stage.

japple on September 28, 2014 at 7:23 am

    Yup.

Islam is essentially a religion of expediency.

What works at any time for it is acceptable; its only a problem with adverse public relations blowback that Islam might face or with exposure that puts the spotlight on its extremism.

Islam rejects democracy, the rule of law, the Enlightenment, civilized behavior and social/religious/ideological tolerance as infidel constructs.

Islam wants to conquer the world by the sword, to kill all those who resist, enslave those who submit and convert the rest to Islam. This is the way the Muslim World has operated for 1400 years. What they do their own people, they will do far worse to the rest of us.

Islam is not going to compromise or reform. It wants to dominate the world and to pretend to get along with the West until its better placed to achieve the objective that I outlined.

Islam has nothing in common with us and we have nothing in common with them. The Koran is a book of hateful, violent and racist teachings that deserves to be banned. There can be no meeting of the minds with people who subscribe to that ideology.

And Muslims have no place in the West, period. All of this has been obvious since 9/11 and long before that. We are in a war that will never end as long as free men still remain alive in our world and we need to face up to the truth about the enemy.

NormanF on September 28, 2014 at 8:33 am

The internet is causing a reformation of Islam in the west just like the invention of the printing press helped bring about a reformation of Christianity in Europe.
As other people have pointed out that reformation is the Islamic State.
Not the kind of reformation westerners generally envisage but a reformation nonetheless.

japple on September 28, 2014 at 8:03 am

What’s happening and has happened is that quite a few Muslims have arrived in the west from their own countries where they were too ignorant, too beaten down, too apathetic or too whatever to devote much energy to applying Muhammad’s example in a real world scenario.
Many just want to get ahead and do well for themselves. These are the real Muslim “moderates” insofar as Muslim “moderates” exist in large numbers in any country.
Their kids however are better educated/indoctrinated, they understand the Quran better than their parents.
Plus there are Wahhabi funded Mosques everywhere.
Plus they now have the leisure time living on the state jizya(welfare) to seek a real world application.
Plus leftist academics(supposedly our most revered seers) contextualize Muhammad’s “struggle” as a war against inequality possibly thinking this placates their audience.

japple on September 28, 2014 at 8:04 am

Muslims in Europe have not been assimilated and secularized.

They’re extreme and very radical. This is true of home-grown Muslims there who if anything, embrace jihad, sharia and Islamic domination above democracy, equality and co-existence in Western countries. Its also true in America.

They’re not part of the American family and this past Rosh Hashana weekend we saw for ourselves first hand in Oklahoma City what they do when they are left to their own devices.

What we need to ask ourselves is if their values are ours. Clearly, they aren’t. But sadly, we are not going to do what needs to be done to save ourselves because we’re paralyzed by our own humanity, respect for The Other and politically correct shibboleths about Islam.

Until we begin to understand who they really are, we will never be able to defeat them.

NormanF on September 28, 2014 at 8:43 am

Bingo.
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work out why younger generations of Muslims in Europe and the UK are often more radical than their parents.

What did Obama say about “bitter clingers” in 2008?

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,” Obama said. “And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

So see,it’s just that jobs have been outsourced that people are anti immigrant.
Right?…

here’s my plan… it should work brilliantly: we invite every and all illegal alienas from central and south america into the states. all of us americans slip over the southern border, inhabiting all of central and south america. we re-establish our constitutional government as the founding fathers intended, with one caveat; a ban on islam and all ideological groups to the left mus meet strict patriotism requirements. then we build the most robust border to protect us from the hordes to the north! sorry, canada 🙁

I was thinking the same thing. America will exist wherever North Europeans gather. So when we’ve had enough of this foreign baggage…we will regather elsewhere and cast them off. A tough new border and policy having learned from a terrible mistake. Diversity is death to a nation. Otherwise we will end up like Brazil, brutal police force and European minority living on the tip of the continent in gated communities. Just stupid.
