You may have heard about the “Holocaust survivor” who was arrested while marching with the rioting protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, Monday. But Hedy Epstein–also a well known anti-Israel, self-hating Jew who tried to be on the HAMAS flotilla–is a fake. She “survived the Holocaust” as much as Harry Truman did because she was, unfortunately, spirited away from Germany in the kindertransport and spent the years of the Holocaust in the safety of England and never saw the insides of a concentration camp. Not even close.

At age 90, Epstein is Exhibit #855,297,543 of the Billy Joel “Only the Good Die Young” corollary.

Monday afternoon, when a friend called to ask me if I heard about “the 90-year-old Holocaust survivor” arrested in Ferguson, my response was, “Wait, is her name Hedy?” When my friend responded that her name was, indeed, Hedy, I explained to him who she is.

Though Hedy Epstein was never a Holocaust survivor, she constantly walks all over the dead bodies of the six million Jews who perished, as a platform for her far-left, self-hating, anti-Semitic, whack job politics. And usually those politics are openly anti-Israel and pro-HAMAS. Epstein is part of the terrorist group ISM (International Solidarity Movement), which was caught giving shelter to Islamic Jihad terrorists. ISM also gave shelter and a place to stay to British Al-Qaeda terrorists the night before they blew up Mike’s Bar in Tel Aviv. Epstein traveled to the West Bank to help ISM in its terrorist activities, and she should be permanently behind bars just for that.

Epstein tried to be on the HAMAS flotilla boats that attempted to deliver terrorist supplies to Gaza (and whose participants succeeded in stabbing and injuring nine Israeli soldiers). She was on one of the flotilla ships in 2010, but left for health reasons. And Epstein participated in pro-HAMAS Palestinian demonstrations in Egypt. But this female Jew In Name Only (Va-JINO) is dangerous in America, too.

Epstein went on the American college lecture circuit, where she compared the Holocaust to Palestinians being checked for bombs at Israeli security checkpoints. She showed pictures of Jews in death camps next to images of the checkpoints. Yup, the Nazis gassing Jews to death in the ovens of Auschwitz is exactly the same as Israel trying to protect itself and its citizens from terrorist bombings. Did you know that when you go to the airport or a federal building, it’s exactly the same as being in Treblinka or Majdanek? Hedy Epstein makes the wrong comparisons. Israel is nothing like the Nazis. But Hedy Epstein has a LOT in common with Josef Goebbels.

She’s gone on hunger strikes “for Gaza.” Sadly, she resumed eating and is still with us.

Epstein is reportedly very wealthy and has also reportedly given a lot of money to Islamic terrorist causes. But, for some reason, she seems to be hands off. If the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force had any guts or common sense, it would be investigating her and her finances.

But it doesn’t and it won’t.

And, so, Hedy Epstein continues to be free to lie about her connection with the Holocaust–again, she is NOT a Holocaust survivor–and use the memories of the six million who were murdered to further her anti-Semitic, crackpot activities, the latest of which is the violent vagrant parade in Ferguson.

If only someone who actually perished in the ovens of Auschwitz, or was murdered by the Nazis in Gross-Rosen or Dora, had been spared instead of Hedy Epstein, the world would have been a whole lot better off.

My family members cooked in the ovens for this biotch to use their memories in vain for thugs in Ferguson and HAMAS terrorists in Gaza? I don’t think so.

a person who survives, especially a person remaining alive after an event in which others have died.

Hedy Epstein was never anywhere near the event.

Back on topic, if Ms Epstein, who neither got tattoos nor witnessed family members getting slaughtered, is not considered a Holocaust survivor, then what makes my dad’s family?

My dad’s side lived in Arzew, Algeria up until the 60s. During WWII, the Nazis and their Vichyist lackeys overran Algeria. Somehow, despite being treated worse than third-class citizens, virtually all of the Jews in the region were spared deportation. Hence, I’m here.

I would say that he was a survivor of sorts. Unfortunately, the Algerian Jews eventually got chased out of the land that they called their own for generations.

But from what I’ve read about Hedy, she’s no Jew. She’s a Kapo.

Of course, what if the whole Kindertransport story was bullshit and she is in fact a Pali Muslima passing for a Jewess? Then for the past 50-60 years, everyone was fooled to no end.

I am outraged that this drek would pose as a Holocaust survivor. I stayed with a Holocaust survivor of Auschwitz in Ramat Gan on my last trip to Israel. She is a beautiful woman and a proud Jew. In the Yom Kippur War her husband (also a Holocaust survivor) and both sons were in active military service in the IDF.

Almost all her family was killed at Auschwitz, and this woman barely escapes being murdered because she is saved by the kindertransport. Thanks to AnnW for her comment on what makes a survivor. You have no idea how many people she lost. Her body being in England does not mean that she did not suffer under Nazi regime. Holocaust survivors were suffering under Nazis long before they were interned into concentration camp.

I would recommend you also compile solid research on what a terrorist is. Providing aid to Palestinians and Israel deciding that is against their policy doesn’t make ISM a terrorist group. They are, in fact, only an aid group and not labeled a terrorist, even by Israel (though Israel will state they aided terrorists, a claim the ISM refutes).

Your ideas, Ms Schlussel seem to come from a logical place, but only if your logical foundation is in the current era of post-colonial white privilege.

Many people in Britain lost family members as a result of the war. Are they Holocaust survivors?

If you want to say that the Holocaust was in effect before 1939 then the problem is that many Jews were in fact still living reasonably well up until then.

A Holocaust survivor is defined as an individual who

1) meets the definition of Holocaust survivor established by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, or the Social Security Agency, or Yad Vashem or the Kinder Transport Association;

2) or defines themselves in reliable and verifiable sources as a Holocaust survivor;

3) or is described as a Holocaust survivor in reliable and verifiable sources.

“Born in Freiburg to a Jewish family, she was rescued from Nazi Germany by the Kindertransport in 1939.”

If you want to change the definition of a holocaust survivor to someone who was in a Nazi prison camp and survived then go make a case of it. While there is a well accepted definition it is good manners to use it. If insulting holocaust survivors is now the rage please let us know.

This quite possibly be the most vapid piece of trash journalism (I feel wrong even calling it that) that I have ever had the horror of reading in my 15 years of living. You, Debbie Schlussel, are one of causes of the rampant hatred in this world. Don’t you dare talk about the Palestinian’s situation like you have an ounce of a clue of what is actually going on in the world. Your hatred towards anyone or any group of people who are not white and Christian is extremely reminiscent of Hitler’s ideology. It is because of complete idiots like you that I fear what is to become of my generation. A word of advice; maybe take a lesson in Journalism, because although I am only 15, I remember that the first thing that I was taught in Beginner’s Journalism is report the facts–not your own opinions.
