Disney VP: New Princess Character Needs No Prince – “We’re Undoing That Damage”; Single Mom, Multi-Culti Character

By Debbie Schlussel

Disney’s new Princess, “Sofia,” is completely politically correct. Her mother is a single mom, she doesn’t need a prince, and her family is “multi-cultural.” The only things missing are mosque worship and a vegan lesbian illegal alien sister seeking tranny surgery before her upcoming gay marriage to Janet Napolitano and artificial insemination with the sperm of rapper Ludacris. But don’t worry. I’m sure that’s coming. With this week’s death of Annette Funicello comes the death of the wholesomeness and traditional family values that used to come with the Disney name. Disney Senior Vice President of Original Programming and General Manager of Disney Junior Worldwide, Nancy Kanter, said the new Disney character, “Sofia the First,” doesn’t won’t need a prince to save her because, “We’re undoing all that damage.”

Disney Veep Nancy Kanter: “We’re Undoing All That Damage” of Needing a Man

Uh-huh, lets train America’s 2-5 year olds, among whom “Sofia the First” is this year’s most watched cable series that single mothers and not needing a man is the way to go. Because that’s working so well in this world we live in right? No reason to promote the traditions that have kept Western civilization alive. Time for Disney to promote what tears the West down.

By the way, take a look at Nancy Kanter in the photo above. Butch haircut . . . check. Sensible shoes . . . probably check. WNBA All-Star Game tickets . . . probably check, check, check. Just sayin’. You know this has everything to do with her referring to masculine men in Disney stories as “all that damage.”

“We knew we didn’t want it to be a young woman looking for a man,” says Nancy Kanter, senior vice president of original programming and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide. “Sofia the First” was introduced to children last November when Disney Channel and Disney Junior aired a heavily promoted 45-minute pilot. Then a weekly animated program began to run on Disney Junior on Jan. 11. The show is this year’s most-watched cable series among children 2 to 5, according to Nielsen Holdings data. . . .

The cable show focuses on a plucky girl who lives in a village in the kingdom of Enchancia with her mother, Miranda. Miranda is an unmarried shoe-cobbler who meets and marries Enchancia’s King Roland. . . . With Sofia, Disney aims to avoid the stereotype of girls needing a prince to save them . . . . “We’re undoing all that damage,” Ms. Kanter says. “Everyone is aware of the ‘princess luggage,’ ” says Bobette Buster, a story consultant hired by Disney to help with “Sofia.” . . .

While Sofia represents a departure from the likes of Ariel, the little mermaid willing to trade her voice to be reunited with a man she met once, she’s still a Disney princess. She’s pretty, she lives in a castle and she wears gowns. . . . Craig Gerber, Sofia’s creator and the show’s executive producer, says he imagined Sofia as the child of a single mother because doing so offered an easy way to explore themes of adaptation and a family situation that resonates with many kids. He also plans to nod at multicultural family dynamics: Miranda wasn’t born in Enchancia and is, he says, “of mixed fairy-tale heritage.”

Ah, the charm of multi-culti mixed fairy-tale heritage . . . but only after sperm via turkey baster, since, after all, no princes and “all that damage” are needed.

Say what you want about Walt Disney (including his fascination with Hitler associates and that he hated Da Jooos, to which even his own namesake museum admits). He was devoted to presenting a clean, wholesome, traditional set of values to American kids, and for that he should be appreciated. Heck, he even required that Annette Funicello not wear bikinis (or any two-piece swimsuits) in the beach movies in which she appeared.

But fast forward a few decades and his descendants are supporting Palestinian terrorists against Israel (so maybe that’s coming full circle to his views), and his namesake company is promoting single motherhood, blind multi-culturalism, and the total dissing of men.

And you wonder why America is a dying nation.

Annette is pictured in a two-piece in the article about her. I don’t remember how that came about but I think it was a compromise on the bikini issue.

Italkit on April 11, 2013 at 3:01 pm

Of course she doesn’t need a prince. The government took his place.

RT on April 11, 2013 at 3:02 pm

Who needs men when the government can be your husband?

No wonder young women are liberal and vote overwhelmingly Democratic.

No one will ever mistake Disney and its new character for embodying the old America.

That died last November and hey, history must be move on.

No doubt we’ll see Sofia shack up with her lesbian girlfriend in matrimonial bliss now that gay marriage is all the rage in American culture.

NormanF on April 11, 2013 at 4:49 pm

Way to kill the brand. Say what you will about Disney, but he worked like a demon to create the company.

Leave it to this Kanter broad–no doubt full of a sense of entitlement, and likely an empty PC resume–to tear it down.

What she’s “undoing” is Disney.

Question: Why does mainstream American care what a lesbo thinks, anyway?

Prometheus on April 11, 2013 at 3:14 pm

I fully expect that Princess Charming will come and sweep her off her feet.

Have you noticed that almost every show these days HAS to have a gay character or even better a gay couple ??

“Not that there’s anything wrong with that right” ??? -)

The little Disney Princess with two dads(or two moms)can’t be that far into the future. Someone is probably working on a script right now. Thanks for the information. I’m so glad my own children are grown and so far no grandchildren. I don’t want to have to worry about their indoctrination.

Janis on April 11, 2013 at 3:31 pm

Why not call her Julia? She’s the ideal women of the Left, right? “I don’t need no stinkin’ Man!!”

“artificial insemination with the sperm of rapper Ludacris” – lol

Frankz on April 11, 2013 at 4:04 pm

The first time I became aware of the Disney company’s anti-western bias was when they hired Eric Foner as a consultant for one of their amusement parks. Foner, as some readers know, is an anti-American professor at Columbia, and a member of one of the most notorious Communist families in 20th Century history.

Little Al on April 11, 2013 at 4:06 pm

    @Little Al–

Thanks for the reminder on Foner. Disney is spinning in his grave….

Prometheus on April 11, 2013 at 6:59 pm

The Disney Company called Eric Phoner? Boy, was that a wrong number.

Best line ever. Made me laughed. 😀

It’s all market segmentation philosophy. They don’t see themselves as moral leaders, but a business and they need to market to the skanks and sleazeballs of the world. There are more of them and fewer of us everyday. That’s the sad reality.

David on April 11, 2013 at 4:19 pm

If they were targetting the skanks and sleezeballs, they would’ve gone out of your way to find you. Are you people kidding me? What if your child came out of the closet, as gay? You going to baptize them in fire, brimstone, and belt lashes because they made a decision they are happy with? My girlfriend and one of her friends shared this link, and frankly, you all have to be kidding me. This isn’t about politics, or really gays, or trannies, or anything else. They allow bigots like you lot to exist, this is exactly why the world can’t have nice things. People like the group commenting here prove to all of us that understanding is out of the question. You’re so set in your ways that you lot forget the ethics of dealing with another human being, no matter gender/race/religion/denomination. There’s a wonderful book, called “The Principles of Human Ethics.” You lot should stop wasting your very short, sad lives expecting that somehow rejecting change means it isn’t happening around you, and perhaps pick up a copy of this book. Show it to your whole towns full of your own cousins who have been inbreeding for generations to make you hateful, useless, bigots. And perhaps, you’ll all get a clue that whether you like it or not, life changes, and the closer we get as a people to accepting the fact that no matter what we personally want, the needs of the many outweigh the few. I’m proud of disney, for risking it’s Stake with a bunch of people like you to teach the world how to understand and love, no matter who it is.

This stuff has been going on for a long time, which you have written about before. It’s as if they are trying to warp the minds of little girls. These kids would be very impressionable. I still remember certain cartoons from when I was a kid many years ago. That’s how much of an impact they can have on the mind.

Wild Jew man on April 11, 2013 at 4:22 pm

Yup…

Walt Disney had his flaws – including his anti-Semitism but even decent people are flawed in someway.

He knew right from wrong and insisted on wholesome entertainment and old-fashioned American values.

Which sadly, are lacking in his descendents and in what the Disney Company has become today. Through both its adult and children’s entertainment divisions, its contributing to the decline of America.

And we wonder why we have never had it as good as we did in the 1940s and 1950s. This country has changed today beyond all recognition.

NormanF on April 11, 2013 at 4:44 pm

So many people have hit the nail on the head but I especially agree with Norman F. Walt Disney would be so sad to see what is happening in the name of Disney today. Like everything else that is traditional, decent, and promotes good values, the liberals/PC crowd have to corrupt it. They just can’t leave anything alone. With the brain-washing that is being done to our young women and now little girls these days, I feel so sorry for the men, present and future, in our society.

Susan in San Diego on April 15, 2013 at 2:03 pm

Debbie’s story is important because Disney is such a beloved and original part of American culture.

What it shows us is the popular culture changes rapidly and one can forget about “conservatism” – if by that you meaning retaining respect for the past.

After all the old must go out to make way for the new.

“Craig Gerber, Sofia’s creator and the show’s executive producer, says he imagined Sofia as the child of a single mother because doing so offered an easy way to explore themes of adaptation and a family situation that resonates with many kids.”

Erm…good thinkin’, there, Craig. That’s important that Disney cartoons “resonate” with the little tykes.

By that reasoning, shouldn’t Sofia have a funny uncle, a predatory lesbo teacher and a drunken, abusive stepdad who molest her while babysitting, invite her to a “coach’s sleepover” and take snapshots of her partially disrobed and get smacked in the face and slammed into a wall, respectively, since these sorts of things also “resonate” with many kids?

We’re a sick nation. The Roman Empire would be envious of our filth.

Blasater on April 11, 2013 at 5:22 pm

Over a decade ago, the Disney Network debuted the “Kim Possible” series, which features a female protagonist that can do no wrong, and a bunch of male characters who are all inept doofuses. Everybody move along, there’s nothing new to see here.

Irving on April 11, 2013 at 5:36 pm

I was at Disney World a little over a month ago and I noticed that they seemed to be more interested in little girls than little boys. Most of the new Tomorrowland section they opened recently seemed to be dedicated to girls to me.

lovmytruk on April 11, 2013 at 7:29 pm

Disney thinks it’s doing the right thing by cashing in on the single mom trend. They’re wrong. Although some single moms are doing a wonderful job raising their children, others are treating their live children as THOUGH they were dolls, as evidenced by this disturbing clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtLcrIAbnOQ

Ralph Adamo on April 11, 2013 at 8:37 pm

I am so sad to hear Disney is going this direction Just another way to change our youths view of not needing that special someone in their life. I don’t know about the rest of you but I was very happy when my prince charming came along. Please keep making the holesome movies most of us love and forget the rest garbage in garbage out. Does everything have to be taken away?

Debra Carmichael on April 11, 2013 at 9:07 pm

Disney is scum.

What concerns me though, is the millions and millions of Americans too lazy to pay attention to this type of intentional shaping of their childrens’ minds.

Nothing produced in the entertainment industries, particularly on film and in produced music for distribution, is by accident. Nothing.

Every minority police chief on the law tv shows. Every gay and lesbo in every program. Every single mom that don’t need no man. Every white guy (who also is either Christian, straight, rich, clean-cut, GOP, or all of the above) that is ALWAYS evil. Every criminal that is always white and never black (polar opposite of real world statistical evidence). Every minority that is always benevolent, good, altruistic, angelic, and “magical”.

NONE of these things are by accident. They are intended to shape the minds of the viewers into believing these are the reality.

This Disney tripe is more of the same. Aimed especially at the most defenseless among us, the goal is to make kids believe that the nuclear family is passe. Where dad works outside the home and mommy works inside the home (I intentionally chose those words to give the respect to stay at home mothers that they deserve). It’s archaic and cru-el to women!

Meanwhile, promoting more single motherhood and stressing even less importance on men in relationships or to complete your life, will lead to further damage in society. As Ann Coulter says, “Victim of a crime? Blame a single mother.”

PitandPen on April 11, 2013 at 10:05 pm

Depicting single motherhood isn’t the same thing as “promoting” it. It’s a fact: There are a lot of single moms out there. That’s life. And it wasn’t the movies that made life this way.

rocker on April 11, 2013 at 11:36 pm

Took the words right out of my mouth, Pit. Disney is complete scum.

    DS_ROCKS! on April 11, 2013 at 11:43 pm

Kanter seems to forget that tales involving princes and princesses are very traditional fare. They were not celebrations of single motherhood and proto-lesbianism. I think Kanter’s flick will probably wind up as a direct to DVD product. Yup, we are doing to see more and more of these turkey baster epics, as we do in DC Comics now.

What crack pots get in here. Womon have never needed men. Full stop! The government does very little for womon wether with or without a man. Why should womon be expected to follow this outdated conformist model designed by patriarchy to control womon and their reproductive abilities. When men shape up better the perhaps womon will want to be with them. Why expect men to be money providers which creates imbalance in relationships.
Disney creates all kinds of rubbish for entertainment for years suddenly when a womon is in the power frame all the doods have so much to say. Boring guys hello 21st century and the right wing womon pontificating about traditional families wake up they never existed womon always raised kids mostly alone!!!!

Nearly 700,000 signatures collected and validated, the decision is now in the hands of Florida voters. At the same time, state lawmakers in both Florida and Georgia are working towards finding their version of a solution for sick patients.

Walt has you all fooled! He had the wholesome APPEARANCE. Yet he was a 33rd level Freemason!!! Don’t tell me he didn’t have an agenda since day one!! There was always a single parent one of them dead and witchcraft!!! Hello I’ve got one weird for you Fantasia!!! That movie had the devil all over it Vladimir. This movie was used to trigger behaviors in children that were brain washed underground at the do called happiest place on earth!!! I grew up loving Disney and going for every birthday. He’ll I even worked as a princess at the park. It wasn’t until someone else pointed out to me in my 30s did I even realize that EVERY story had a dead parent. My house and my kids will have nothing to do with that brain washing,
fear mongering, Satan worshipping Disney!
