Thanksgiving 2012: Thankful For What We Have, What We Are . . . And What We ARE NOT

By Debbie Schlussel

Happy Thanksgiving, America!

While a moronic electorate, just two weeks ago, took us further and more irreparably away from the America we should be into an America lost forever, I’m thankful that we are still free. I’m thankful that we still have an American Thanksgiving that looks like this . . .

normanrockwellthanskgiving.jpg

And NOT like this–a Muslim Brotherhood/HAMAS “Thanksgiving” . . . yet. (I posted something similar, last year, but had artist David Lunde fix it up a little to make it more accurate.)

Halal Thanksgiving Artwork by David Lunde/Lundesigns (& Norman Rockwell); Design by Debbie Schlussel (& Norman Rockwell)

Today–and every day–not only am I thankful for my freedom and the ability to say and do as I please on this site without government intervention, but I’m also tremendously thankful for you, my dear readers and friends, for your readership (which keeps growing each year), for your insightful and observant comments, for your news tips, and for your generous support–both morally and financially. All of that helps keep this site and my work going. I’m thankful for not just my freedom and health, but yours as well. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to do this. And without our brave men protecting America and serving here and overseas, I wouldn’t be able to do this. Without them, we wouldn’t have a First and Second Amendment to speak of.

I’m thankful that there are only four more years (plus about a month) of Barack Obama and that despite his desires and attempts, he cannot change America forever, if we still have the will to fight. I’m thankful that not all Republicans and conservatives have adopted the loser/throw-in-the-towel attitude that we must become Democrats-lite in order to survive as conservatives, that we must give amnesty to make the electorate more foolproof for Obama’s wannabe successor Hillary Clinton and, ultimately, her “chosen one” daughter, Chelsea, who’s never done a thing in her life, other than be born out of the right abrasive female’s genital region.

Give thanks, today, that you likely won’t be around when America becomes an Islamic nation and we lose everything, and hope that your grandchildren and great-granchildren won’t be either. Be thankful that while America has become Kardashian and Teen Mom and Kanye West and Jay-Z Nation, that you are above that lumpenproletariat sinking our country ever lower. I am thankful that I don’t live in a country that practices sharia and treats women like chattel, where doctors write “scientific” papers asking where the harm is in female genital mutilation. Be thankful, like me, that we don’t yet live in a country that conducts pogroms against Jews and Christians and seizes their property, in addition to their lives. Be thankful that we can still freely and openly practice our non-Mohammedan religions, and think of those in Israel who are surrounded by the savages, the wolves hunting them down because they try to do the same.

If you think that one day this won’t come our way, then you see a future America in which we take a tough approach to securing our borders and rounding up those inside who don’t legally belong here. You also see a future America in which we don’t bend over–backward AND forward–to the demands of the terrorism supporters a/k/a Muslims who now have green cards and citizenship because we did nothing to stop that. Unfortunately, I see an America, where far too many who pretend to be on the right and are still in office or on the air because of the right, are demanding that we instantly make 20 million invaders–20 million lawbreakers–citizens. If you don’t believe that an unfair, repressive, Islamic theocracy is possible, then you ignore an America in which aliens–both legal and illegal–have a huge birthrate, fast outpacing the rest of America. And many of those aliens having the most kids are Muslim.

Remember, if you go to Dearbornistan, today, on November 22, 2012, you’ll hardly know that it’s Thanksgiving (other than the thanks they are giving for the Hillary-brokered HAMAS/Egypt/Muslim Brotherhood victory over Israel, yesterday). You’ll also hardly know you’re in the United States of America, instead of the Hezbollah stronghold of Bint Jbeil in South Lebanon. It’s just one of the places in America with high concentrations of Muslims where the inhabitants are “American” on paper only (if that) and refuse to celebrate Thanksgiving.

On a lighter and happier note, to those who wished me a Happy Thanksgiving, Right Back Atcha! A repeated thank you for reading this site this past year, over the years before that, and, I hope, in the next year. Again, I am thankful for all of that and all of you.

I wish a joyous, delicious, fun Thanksgiving to you all! And I hope you will take the time beyond the turkey, stuffing, dressing, cranberry sauce, and all the other fixin’s to give thanks that our country is still free and that we are all alive and kicking. Give thanks that you still have a roof over your head and think of those who do not. Give thanks that you have family and friends, and remember that many do not. Those are my primary things to be thankful for, in addition to being a citizen of the greatest country on earth. Those of us who are healthy are thankful for that, and those who are not . . . well, be thankful for the fact that America once had the best healthcare system on earth, but that because more than half of Americans were dummies and rushed to the polls to outwardly manifest that stupidity, we no longer will once ObamaCare comes into full effect. Make sure you get all your check-ups in with free market, capitalist doctors in the next year, because, soon, that system is going dark.

I’ve said this so many times before, but it bears repeating because the things I give thanks for are pretty consistent, and thankfully–despite the horrid leadership at the top–America is and remains pretty consistent and stable. On this Thanksgiving, I repeat again that I give thanks for and think of all of those who serve our country in the U.S. Armed Forces and those who gave their lives so we can enjoy our turkey in freedom and without wearing a niqab, hijab, or jilbab, or some other dumb, oppressive piece of clothing that rhymes with “Bob” or “Rob” but was created by the Mohammeds, Ahmeds, Mahmouds, and HAMAS-worshippers of this world.

Those who work today and every other day in U.S. Armed Forces uniform, so that we can enjoy our lives as we wish and live freely, should be thanked every single day for their service. While left-wing self-hating Americans want us to regress to their phony version of history–ie., that we are the oppressors of Indians, turkeys, “ObamaPhone” donees and users, and every other “victim” imaginable or unimaginable, don’t forget that the real oppression is going on elsewhere . . . all over the world today. Be thankful that you don’t live there. A large part of that real oppression is under Islamic totalitarian rule, some of it is under Communists and “former” Communists, and the rest is under lands soon to be controlled by Islamic totalitarian rule. I give thanks that we are not like them, that we don’t live under them. And I give even more thanks that WE. ARE. BETTER. THAN. THEM. Never forget that. . . and the fact that turkey is better than turducken, which begins with “turd” for a reason. I’m thankful that I’m not a vegetarian and that the nutjobs at PETA (a/k/a PUTAh – People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans) can’t stop me from eating the white meat and wings of a delectable kosher bird, today.

If you are reading this site, you know that you and I still have the ultimate in freedoms: free speech. And though we have a pan-Marxist, Islamo-pandering President and unelected federal law enforcement bureaucracy infected with the same PC attitudes toward enforcing the law, and though times are tough for Americans all over, we are still citizens of the best damn country on earth. Most of all, I am thankful to be an American. Thank G-d for that!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! May G-d bless you all. And G-d Bless America.

I am thankful also, for your post.

There are other people here who have something to be thankful for. Look at all the moochers and takers, who get food stamps, expanded disability, college ‘loans’, public aid, mortgage subsidies, tax redistribution benefits and phony government and, to some extent, phony teaching jobs.

They ought to at least be grateful, and thank the taxpayers who work for a living at meaningful jobs for their generosity. But instead, they are hostile and belligerent, and criticize those who give them money through their taxes. Romney, whatever his faults, pays more than 10% of his income in taxes, much of it going to these people. But instead of being thankful, they criticize him. They ignore the age-old advice not to bite the hand that feeds them.

We’re thanksful for you too Debbie! NOBODY gives us the unvarnished truth from as well as you do! A Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving to you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you DS, and I’m thankful to live in a stable secular-republic such as this country with all of the freedoms, liberties, rights and opportunities that I enjoy and can take advantage of.

To be honest with you Debbie and all of us here, I’d rather live in a so-called pop-culture society (it can be annoying til a point) than a dogmatic society with ass-backward religious laws (half of muslim countries) imposed down my throat day-and-night. And I like the second photo of that family dressed as islamists or devout muslim zealots, just love the satire in some of these photos you forward here DS!

Great article.

Thank you, Debbie, for your tireless vigilance and reporting on the subverts in our midst.

DS_ROCKS! on November 22, 2012 at 3:11 pm

Blessings to you, Debbie.
Let us all lift each other to our Father in heaven in our prayers as we remember and thank Him from who is the source of our freedoms, our prosperity, even the source of love itself.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us be glad and rejoice in it! Amen!

Happy Tryptophan Overdose Day (aka Thanksgiving Day)!

There are few things for which I’m thankful.

That I’m above ground than below.

That there is a roof over my head.

That I don’t have to go to bed hungry.

That I will always have the freedom to rage against whatever machine is screwing things up.

And I’m especially thankful for those of you guys who have put up with my lunacy, especially Skunky and Skzion: you people rock.

And to everyone’s favourite grumpy aunt, Miss Debbie Schlussel. Don’t stop keeping everyone on their feet.

BTW – on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, if you have to go to a Live Tech Chat any time some bargain-priced POS fails out on you, be nice to the Live Techs. They probably are having problems with the same bargain-priced POS at the moment. We feel your pain, too.

Love, Jacques.

May I offer the American Thanksgiving Hymn Medley. We used to sing these in public school (even though our school was 90% Jewish), but I doubt they do that today. The song mentions the banned “G-word”.

One thing that I’m thankful for today is the execution of the lone survivor of the Jihadis involved in the Mumbai carnage 4 years ago that killed 166 people, including that assault on the Chabad/Nariman House

Debbie,

Thanks for all you do to expose and call out the insidious trappings this country has fallen victim to and the nefarious perpetrators who foster it. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and keep up the great work.

IceNoMore on November 23, 2012 at 9:22 am

who started letting all these muslims in the usa anyway have you got a story on that

martin on November 23, 2012 at 9:35 am

I’m thankful that my mind cleared of the confusion of hearing “religion of peace” and seeing “religion of slaughter and blood lust”. Yeah, I fell for the “beauty and mystery of Islam” for a long time, but no longer, I mean, words, schmords. I consider all of you my family and am grateful for that.

Pray Hard on November 23, 2012 at 10:04 am

I’m thankful for all the things you mention, however I’m not at all confident that we’ll have them in the future. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are attempting to negotiate away our First and Second Amendment rights by treaty (under the rubric of defamation of religion and small arms trade), a stealthy strategy devised by leftist law professors. There could very well come a time when most of what you post here about Islam or Muslims (or immigration or government malfeasance) will be illegal.

Thanks for your site and all your hard work Debbie and happy Thanksgiving!

WTP on November 23, 2012 at 10:24 am

Debbie girlfriend I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again you rock. Your post was awesome and you just hit every point on the head for me. I was blessed to go home back to WVA and have a great Thanksgiving. When I say we had a full house I mean we had a full house. No TURDuckens or TOE-furkys were present. Also all discussions about our two legged White House turkey were kept pleasant. I counted to myself the many blessings in my life that I give thanks for but I’ll just list a couple. I give thanks for:
The fact that I’m alive and healthy(for the most part)…lol.
The fact that I have a loving wife and great kids.
The fact that I’m and American living the greatest nation on earth.
The fact that we have the greatest military known to man made up of some of the best people that I’ve had the privilege of serving with.
And finally the fact that we have people like you Debbie who fight the good fight to keep us informed with the unvarnished truth(something the muslims, fembots, RINOs and other scumbags hate)each and everyday.
May the Lord bless and keep you Debbie and I hope that you and the regular posters on this site had a great Thanksgiving.

Right on target! Especially, regarding the Left and their twisted beliefs, and treachery.

CharlesMartelReborn on November 23, 2012 at 10:44 am

Thank you, Debbie, for this wonderful article of thanks. It should be on the front page of every newspaper in the country – unfortunately, in today’s world, it won’t. As we give thanks, my loving wife and I give thanks for you and your truth-telling daily articles. We consider you a part of our family as you speak to us each day. Bless you and yours. Contimue to remind all that, “The truth shall set ye free.”

Debbie,
I’m Thanking God for your intelligently written perspective and insight about what is really going on in the world! Lot’s of times I say to myself, ” I wonder what Debbie is going to think about this”? ( pick any topic of importance in our country related to our future and safety!)
You always have me thinking and questioning what the media is trying to sell us! I thought only I had a jaundiced eye…
Keep it up…Kindest Regards ,
Sue

I’m thankful that America is currently not in the same financial position as Greece or Portugal. Unfortunately, after two or three more years of Obama, I have every reason to believe it eventually will be. Although the exact date is difficult to predict, there’s no doubt that we are going to experience a repeat of October, 1929. Some sound financial advice: Invest in tents.

I’m thankful for all of DS’ hard work and how she refuses to give up. And I am thankful I know she is the best source for info on the scourge of Islam and for REAL Conservativism. No one else teaches me more and also re-affirms my Conservative values. Most others have been proven frauds. If i wanted to be a fraud I’d have stayed a Liberal.

I am thankful for her tough readers and post-ers who know this isn’t greasy kid stuff and they HAVE to use their critical thinking skills. I’ve seen other so-called Conservatives wilt at less caustic & controversial truths.

Thank you for your kind words, Rev. Your personality shines through in your words & you are very 3-D to me here. It’s a joy reading great and fun writing as you (& Ken B.!) and JEG. You men say it and don’t mince words or pull punches. I appreciate that!

Skunky on November 23, 2012 at 6:41 pm

America. The only place in world besides Israel where the Turkey is Kosher. Do the Turks know that?
Having raised the present generation of sperm-donors (not husbands, nor gentlemen) in my downtown hospital and clinic in Milwaukee I can see how a food-stamp dispenser can be the President of the united Sperm-donors. Its truly sad to see a great nation going down the drain. The Right of being idle, the right of living as a Bum must be scrapped, and you dont have much time.
i escaped back to the rigors of life in Israel, rockets and all. Because in the rockets red glare we arise a sovereign nation, despite our enemies.

yuval Brandstetter MD on November 24, 2012 at 10:15 am

Thank you Dr. Brandstetter, yours is the only post that makes sense here. My thanksgivings never looked Muslim for obvious reasons but they never looked like Norman Rockwell either. I hated holidays in the US. My favorite here is Sukkoth which is not a Jewish substitute for Thanksgiving. Also, if I have to eat turkey (which is actually named India bird, don’t know where “turkey” came from) I prefer Israeli ones.

Italkit on November 24, 2012 at 11:27 am

Doc, you are hardly a sovereign nation. As individuals you do not even have the equivalent of a first amendment. Collectively, you function around the whims of outsiders, starting with the foreign nationals called Israeli Arabs, to the Fakestinians, Hezbollah, Hamas, the UN, the EU, RUSSIA (fer g-d sake!), and of course the US.

Thanks for coming here though. And thanks to you as well, Italkit.

skzion on November 25, 2012 at 2:09 pm

We must not have one day only for thanks giving; every day should be a thanksgiving day. Gods blessing does not happen on one day only but on everyday. Have a blessed thenks giving every one.
