Charlie Daniels Said What About HAMAS v. Israel? Response Needed

By Debbie Schlussel

I normally don’t put much credence into what celebrities say about political issues, other than to call them out. But Charlie Daniels’ excellent piece about Israel and what it faces from HAMAS and its other “neighbors” is so good, I want it to be seen by everyone I can reach. And I need you to respond by posting a comment on his site to thank him, since there is no contact info for him on the site (that I can find). I can just hear his down-home, Southern-accented voice–the same voice in “Devil Went Down to Georgia”–saying these words. It is rare that a celeb actually gets it. Here are some excerpts of what he posted from his home in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, America’s heartland:

This tiny nation beset from within by extremely different political persuasions and from without by rocket attacks, suicide bombers and armies of Islamic zealots is criticized and ostracized by the nations of the world and the target of millenniums-old vendettas and a dishonest, hostile world media stands proudly fertile, progressive and strong, as an example of what could be accomplished by their neighbors if they could only put their hate and swords away and concentrate on the welfare of their state and it’s people. . . .

If you watch the networks in the U.S. or the BBC or CNN International around the world they will try to convince you that Israel is the instigator, on the offensive, firing missiles into populated areas and schools in the Gaza Strip. They’ll show you pictures of a bloody child and bombed out houses in an effort to convince you that Israel is the aggressor, even if some of the photos being passed off as Palestinian casualties are from recent Syrian internal violence.

They basically ignore the bloody children and bomb damaged buildings on the Israeli side of the border and omit the fact that rockets had been raining down on Israel for months before they began a major retaliation.

To put the situation into perspective, imagine that somebody in the adjacent county was lobbing rockets into your backyard and your children’s schoolyard. Just how many of these attacks would you tolerate before you started shooting back to protect your family?

In a nutshell that’s what’s happening in Israel, and what has been happening and nobody in the world has the right to prevent them from protecting themselves. . . . The Jews supply water, electricity, food and medicine in the Gaza Strip and just want to live in peace with their neighbors.

READ the rest–if you don’t read it right away, it is viewable in his archive, here–and THANK Charlie Daniels. (One disagreement: even if they put down their arms and renounced terrorism forever–which’ll never happen–the Muslim nations will never be like Israel in terms of inventions, achievements, GDP, etc. They know that, too, and can’t handle the truth. Their jealousy is part of their rage.)

I’ve always loved Charlie Daniels’ fiddling since I was a kid, when my dad shared his love of bluegrass and Scotch-Irish Southern fiddling with me and took me to those kinds of concerts (in addition to jazz and classical music concerts). But this is a giant cherry on top. Charlie, as we Jews say in Hebrew, “Yasher Koach” [“May Your Strength Be Firm” or “May Your Strength Increase”] which is a form of congratulation, usually followed by a handshake. Thank you, Charlie Daniels, a real mensch. And thanks to reader Steve H. for the tip.

Charlie Daniels is what I think of as a Great American. He gets it on a lot of things, and for that I’d like to say “Thank you, Mr. Daniels!”

KerryB29 on November 20, 2012 at 2:43 pm

Finally an honest celebrity.

DS_ROCKS! on November 20, 2012 at 2:51 pm

Love Charlie Daniels.

As some have pointed out, the depletion of Hamas’ missile inventory has damaged any potential Iranian response to an Israeli strike. Notice that the Mullahs have carefully kept Hezbollah in check, going so far as to monitor Palestinian groups in south Lebanon lest they start a war which could/would lead to the destruction of Hezbollah’s stockpile.

This is Israel’s best opportunity to strike Iran, which explains Hillary’s panicked trip to Jerusalem, and which may explain why US naval forces are now coast-side in the Med. Are these designed to deter an Israeli strike?

This also may explain Israel’s reluctance to invade Gaza. They don’t want 30,000 troops tied up there when the more important front may be to the north.

Hamas/Iran inadvertently gave Bibi a gift, betting that the Americans would restrain him. If Israel doesn’t go now, they never will.

Thank you, Charlie Daniels, a real mensch

I’ve always loved Charlie Daniels for his music, his love of America, and his insight on the foes of this nation. He has the sand to dig in, state his beliefs, and back them up; he gets it! More than I can say for the libtards and brain-dead in Hollywood and the music industry as a whole.

He’s a true volunteer from “The Volunteer State”…..

Thank you Charlie!

IceNoMore on November 20, 2012 at 3:14 pm

Charlie Daniels you hit it right on the nose! G-d bless!

Roni on November 20, 2012 at 3:16 pm

I wish the left wing Jews felt as strongly about Israel as he does.

Jonathan E. Grant on November 20, 2012 at 3:18 pm

I also wish that, John. But I realize that even when monkeys will be jumping out my butt I’ll still be wishing….

Not Ovenready on November 20, 2012 at 11:56 pm

Oh, and I think the Iranians probably realize they’re in a weakened position. Don’t be surprised when they suddenly show more willingness to negotiate with the US. They need time to restock Hamas and to reach the nuclear goal. They know Obama is a sucker for talks, and they’ll try to use that against the Israelis.

I have serious questions as to whether the IDF would obey an order to strike Iran. They may have refused once already, in 2010. If they did so again, then Israeli democracy has been subverted.

Adam on November 20, 2012 at 3:22 pm

GOD BLESS you, Charlie Daniels. Why aren’t there more celebrities with brains and hearts like Charlie?

JAG GAYNOR on November 20, 2012 at 3:22 pm

Correct on that Jon, and god bless (even though I’m not a religious person) Charlie Daniels for speaking his mind and NOT being sucked into pro-hamas and pro-arab propaganda by the left wing media both here in the US and worldwide. And I’ve figured something, the arabs in the middle east are like the liberals here in the US, & Canada, in which we all know that the left wingers use blacks and hispanics for political issues on loathing and being envyious towards whites and hating the US, whereas the arabs in the middle east use Palestinian people and other arabic people from different national groups in order to hate both Israel and the jews.

He also has a point, where the devil is the outrage on what’s really going on in Syria, where there in the midst of a civil-war, oh I get it, the situation in Syria has nothing to do with the jews or Israel, so it doesn’t the arabs and the worldwide media’s criteria, friggin hypocrites!

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on November 20, 2012 at 3:27 pm

I don’t follow him on the Twitters but I have re-tweeted MANY of his tweets because I liked them and they made sense and sounded legitimately Conservative. I will thank him on Twitter.

It’s rare that I follow a celebrity on Twitter for politics or just in general(unless they are obscure and mean something to my past) because like DS alluded to, it easier (and more fun) to call them out.

Another so-called ‘comedian’ who is dopier than Andy Levy (whoever HE is…) is John Fugelsang who alluded that HAMAS is a terrorist organization but at least they were elected. And he thinks he’s funny by saying those who want a Conservative and anti-abortion gubmint can always go to Iran. Fricken’ assclown!

Skunky on November 20, 2012 at 3:37 pm

Hostile world media is right.
Check out what Rachel Maddow said this past friday:

“Now, we do not know exactly what started this most recent round of fighting, but we do know that an Israeli air strike killed the top commander of Hamas in Gaza on Wednesday.”

Wow,really Rachel?
It wasn’t the hundreds of rocket attacks from Gaza, that’s been going on since the summer that the media HASN’T reported on,that caused Israel to respond?

Thanks Charlie, that took a lot of courage to speak out.

ebayer on November 20, 2012 at 3:39 pm

I agree Ebayer! Ralph Maddow is my ‘Niagara Falls’. He absolutely gets me agro from 0 to 60 in micro-seconds flat.

It just proves the sicko, psychologically damaged fraud is gay married to her retardo ideology than reason and facts. The pre-pube boy would NEVER go against his ideology because it would deconstruct the facade of who and what he thinks he is. He doesn’t have the balls for that. He doesn’t have the testicular fortitude. Many of us USED to be Liberal but had the cojones to switch over once we realized we were being zoomed.

And as I always like to bring up, why does that fraud have to dress in DRAG for his show? It’s MS-LEFT-BC and they supposedly have no trouble with gays and gay politics. And Moonbats are the majority of their mentally ill audience so WHY does a Lefty, Moonbat organization make this intellectual fraud dress up as a “woman” for his airtime?

I’d like to know the logic behind THAT but then again it is Liberal logic!

Skunky on November 20, 2012 at 4:16 pm

      @Skuzz-Skeeve,

ZOMG! You did NOT “switch over.” You still vote for liberal candidates, retard!

Every word in your last post could definitely be said about you as well.

      Project, much?

SM on November 20, 2012 at 11:13 pm

Charlie is SO right.

You know a big thing that bothers me is WHY does Israel need the US’ PERMISSION to defend itself ???? Yes we are allies and we let the World know that if they attacked Israel that we would help defend them.

However Israel last I checked was NOT the 51st state of the Union and is a sovereign nation which has the right to defend itself !!! People in this country who blame Israel tick me off because if Mexico was firing rockets into Texas, how long do you think that we would strike back ???

If I was an Israeli I would roll into Gaza with overwhelming force and destroy Hamas once and for all !!!

jimmyPx on November 20, 2012 at 3:51 pm

The obvious is always what’s so incredible. Charlie was just saying the obvious. I applaud him for that. Unfortunately, the doped-up sheeple will neither read, understand nor appreciate his commentary.

I wonder if he still hosts the Volunteer Jam. I just love me some old time southern country and blues music.

The Reverend Jacques on November 20, 2012 at 4:50 pm

I am happy that Charlie Daniels’ is speaking the truth about what is occuring in Israel. It’s a tragic fact that mainstream media has become biased against Israel. Gone is the days when people could believe that the news was based on truth. Propaganda by Hamas has reached a new low.

Larry Michael Lounsbury on November 20, 2012 at 5:01 pm

Hopefully, he will not apologize for his comments when the attacks start from the Left and the Twitter community. Look what happened to Kim Kardashian when she dared to express support for Israel. I doubt Daniels will back peddle from his well chosen words. His analogy to rockets blasting OUR kids in OUR country is one I’ve espoused for years. A great American.

JeffT on November 20, 2012 at 5:35 pm

The knowledge and willingness to address serious real world issues realistically– especially the Middle East variety– speaks volumns for the courage and character of someone in the entertainment business.

Such an aware, self-respecting soul stands out as a heavyweight–a resplendent gem– in that industry over-populated by helium baloon-weight people.

Thank you, Charlie Daniels.

Charlie Daniels, you are a genius. Spot on Ms. Schlussel, I don’t see the Muslims nations being like Israel becuase you have to have a society that values life instead death.

Mr. Lawrence on November 20, 2012 at 8:58 pm

Charlies a born again evangelical Christian. Too bad there are more of us. Israel would be a lot safer in this world.

What a great piece! I was in a country rock band that used to play some of his tunes back around ’77-’82 (like ‘Long Haired Country Boy’). I wore out the grooves in his ‘Saddletramp’ LP. He certainly does get it. As do a lot of people on his ‘Soapbox’.

Not Ovenready on November 21, 2012 at 12:04 am

All I can say is thank you Charlie. Your support is welcomed by all who care about fairness, and the survival of democratic values.

Neils60 on November 21, 2012 at 1:33 am

I couldn’t comment on his site because his captcha codes are not Mac friendly. I would need to be able to insert HTML codes for underlined letters and I can’t do that. Maybe I just don’t know them because most of the time, I don’t need them.

Italkit on November 21, 2012 at 4:17 am

I did tweet him however so if you can’t go into the site, do that.

Thank you Mr. Daniels for your support.

Plainly and directly spoken Mr. Daniels. Thanks for speaking up about the reality and truth.

Does Charles Daniels have any views about the Muslim/Islamic role in all this?

Debbie

What are Charles Daniels’ views on the Muslim/Islamic role on this issue?

Infidel on November 21, 2012 at 7:09 am

Not a country music fan, but despite those gaudy outfits, between the ears Charlie is 100% in perfect working order. As you said, he is a Mensch!

Odd, how quickly after 9/11 the media and so many politicians have turned against the USA and are siding with the islamical terrforists!

Otto Schaden on November 21, 2012 at 8:29 am

Thanks to Charlie Daniels a true friend of Israel and patriot.

WTP on November 21, 2012 at 9:58 am

All good to Charlie Daniels. Torah believing Jews know that it is patriotic Americans and Biblically based Christians, like you, and Pastor John Hagee of Texas that are best friends of Eretz Israel (the land of Israel) and the Jewish people.

“And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Genesis 12:31

This message was sent to Charlie Daniels. FYI Devil went down to Georgia gets me moving.

bobguzzardi on November 21, 2012 at 10:36 am

The country western genre is still our most patriotic. Wounded warrior has also benefitted from these fine Americans. Always have loved that speed fiddle.

Charlie you are the greatest!

RJ Katz on November 21, 2012 at 10:50 am

Good stuff on Charlie Daniels! “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” has always been one of my favorite songs, and it’s good for once to hear an entertainer who is not anti-Israel.

D. O'Nay on November 21, 2012 at 10:57 am

Charlie Daniels is absolutely one of the best, clear thinking, writers around. I go to his website regularly and read his articles and everyone who reads Debbies columns should do the same. Go to his “Soap Box” at: http://www.charliedaniels.com/soapbox.htm
Then look at the various articles in his “Archives”. He should receive wide distribution but is known more for his music and not many people know about his columns. I regularly tell friends about him and his “Soap Box” columns and you should do the same. Pass the word around.

Wally on November 21, 2012 at 11:02 am

Thanks Charlie! Finally, a celeb who uses their status to express sanity. Tis rare…

@Skunky – Great description of Maddow. I find it very strange when a dyke freakshow like her/him is given any kind of credence whatsoever. How far we have sunk…

PDMac60 on November 21, 2012 at 11:08 am

Thank you PDMac. He is an odious fraud of the worst kind. What annoys me the most about him (other than he’s a lunatic) is that he THINKS he’s funny and he’s nothing but an unfunny, douche-chilly DORK.

And I love how a fraud like that has to dress in drag to do his show on the MOST Liberal show produced in America. Liberal hypocrisy NEVER ends.

Bob Keegan wore a “Cap’n Kangaroo” uniform because he was playing a character. What is Ralph Maddow’s excuse?

Skunky on November 21, 2012 at 1:04 pm

Charlie Daniels, Sir, your comments re Israel are to be commended and should be heeded by all, especially those who claim to be Jewish in South Florida.

Pertaining to the Mid-East, a DEVIL (there is another five letter word I would like to use, but …) is truly on the loose and tempting that area with the “Golden Fiddle” of a Jew-less Caliphate.

With enormous amounts of respect, THANK YOU.

Dennis

Dennis on November 21, 2012 at 11:29 am

Like some here, I have heard only his most famous song. It was fine enough to cross over to the rock charts. It’s good that he is actually a sensible fellow with his heart in the right place.

Ole Charile had some pretty tough words for Obama too in an open letter.

Paul on November 21, 2012 at 7:40 pm

Thank you, Charlie Daniels for speaking the truth! Where I live, in Canada, one hardly ever hears the truth spoken (especially not in the media, in the “universities”, or on the streets). It is refreshing to find those who “get it.” So once again, thank you.
