Why is everyone wasting time, media coverage and ink on this Petraeus deal. This kind of stuff goes on daily at all levels of our government, from the guy at the top to the guy cleaning the restrooms.

Nothing will happen to anyone. Petraeus will either get a job in the Obama administration or become a professor at some college/university in the United States. He will write a book, as will everyone else involved and go on the Oprah show.

I think the Republicans are hoping that the commotion about Petraeus, Rice, etc. will give them leverage in the budget negotiations with Obama. It is well known that the Watergate saga weakened the Nixon presidency in general, and contributed to our loss in Vietnam.

But unfortunately, the Republicans are both liberal and spineless as a whole, and what they are hoping to get from Obama is merely face-saving concessions, rather than a substantive budget change.

At the time of WW II, when the bulk of the population still believed in America’s traditions, hopefully emails, tweets, and all the rest of it, would have been devoted to supporting the war effort, and the tell-alls would have faced ostracism if they acted the way they are acting today.

Ike had an affair during WWII, and MacArthur couldn’t keep his hands off one of the LBFM’s in the Philippines during the 1930’s.

However, what is dangerous here is that Kelly is a Lebanese import, with contacts in Lebanon, so we cannot be sure as to whether her associations with the military brass is not a security risk.

Additionally, Broad-Well had a heck of a lot of material in her possession, as did Kelly, if rumors are to be believed, that involved national security.

Ike and McArthur would never have put Little Ike and Little Mac before the good of the USA. We cant say that about General Betrayus, who puts praise of Islam above our national security.
