Not particularly interested in a reply, but it is curious how many of the comments on here attack “liberals” as if they are soley part of the problem. Someone in this comment string (NormanF) mentioned how Libya was put in the hands of Al Qaeda, but there are countless administrations, both Republican and Democrat that have destabilized a region and created “blowback”. It would be nice to see thoughtful commentary that actually reflects actual knowledge of history and politics instead of right wing rhetoric. Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place, my bad…

Firstly, how soon we all forget. The invasion of Iraq under the pretext of “weapons of mass destruction” merely lead to transitioning a Sunni run country to Shia. I think we know that Iran is Shia. This was the first flaw in our Mid East foreign policy. We (right wingers and left wingers) DO NOT want an Iraq and Iran Shia alliance. Bush II made this happen. Conservatives have to understand that this happened at the hands of Bush II and was a huge mistake. Anyone around during the 80’s remembers Iraq and Iran being locked in a protracted war where both sides lost millions of lives. This was actually good for the U.S. Afghanistan will be reflected upon as a marginal success at best, doomed form the start. Let’s not forget that Bush had fewer troops under his tenure than police officers with the NYPD. Objectively speaking, if Obama is so incompetent, than how did he manage to kill Bin Laden and that other idiot in Yemen, increase the number of troops in the place we needed to be in the first place and not to mention tripling drone attacks over Bush II. Pulling out of Iraq was an agreement which predates his presidency.

Islam isn’t the reason this idiot got his fingers chopped off anymore than Christianity is the reason why Dahmer ate a kidney. His treatment of the Libyan people is the reason for it if anything. In much the same way that his father and brother were taken off the planet. Any people who are oppressed and taken advantage of will visit a horrible vengeance upon those who keep and torment them, if given the chance. To simplify this as a function of religion or race is to reveal your own ignorance rather than to provide anyone reading with real facts.

It doesn’t appear that anyone here knows the spark that started the revolution in Libya. It started with a market owner being so furious and frustrated with unfair taxes that he doused himself with gasoline and lit himself on fire. Anyone on here familiar with unfair taxes? In many ways these people and their beliefs COULD be quite similar to our own. Our revolution was violent and brutal. Our civil war was the worst conflict we have ever had as a country.

Who cares what these folks do with this terd. His father bankrolled the Pan Am bombing. I see it as justice. I hope he gets the rest of his fingers cut off, his toes too. Love the comment about “hand sandwich”, brillilant!

Its not all Obama’s fault, you’re correct he pursued policies began under Bush that weakened Arab regimes that had kept the Islamists repressed. That said, Obama is taking things further along by training and financing Islamist parties to win elections throughout the Middle East. Democracy won’t happen there but the Sixth Caliphate will be a reality. As for your comments about the Libyan revolutionaries, while I don’t shed tears for Qaddafi’s son – the barbarism of these people is on display for all to see. None of us are having any illusions about what the future holds. Its dark and its going to get worse. Bro, if you were here way back in March, Debbie called out Republicans and conservative commentators on the Libya issue, ie, Sean Hannity, John McCain, Mitch McConnell (I assume if I’m not mistaken) that Obama has to go into Libya and get rid of Gadhafi, etc. As for Iraq (ironically you bought up Iraq and this article has NOTHING to do with Iraq), with us going into there, Iran was the big winner in which it created a larger “Persia”.

Also Crazytrain, DS gave Obama alot of credit for killing OBL, she wasn’t playing partisan politics (like how you did in one of your sentiments) at the time. As for Al-Alwalki and Samir Khan, Obama was slightly wrong on killing them, the reason is is because both Al-Alwalki and Khan were “US citizens” and should’ve been tried in US courts, and yes both Khan and Al-Alwalki worked for al-qeada and stabbed this country in the back and were complete “Benedict Arnold’s”, but as I said, the two of them were american citizens and should’ve been tried in american courts for joining al-qeada, etc.

I’ll take the word of a SEAL over that of some revisionist historical dreck peddler seeking to tell me there were no WMDs in Iraq. What?After Saddam gassed the Kurds, he just GOT RID of the rest of those munitions afterwards? After the Israelis blew the crap outta Osirak, he just GAVE UP trying? He just had all that yellowcake uranium because he thought it was a baking ingredient? In the words of Keyshawn Johnson, “C’mon, man!”

And now we find that tons of gas weapons are loose in Libya. A Libya where the al Qaeda flag flies. In addition to the barely scrapped nuke facilities? The issue was the pretext that they were seeking nuclear capability, which as we now know was BS, and was BS from the onset. Interestingly enough, we also knew that Iran was doing the same thing prior to 2003, but we certainly didn’t invade that country. The level of islamaphobia is unreal. while you remain distracted about a terrorist under every bed, China is taxing the U.S. for money we borrowed from them to fight wars in lands that would be irrelevant if we simply divested. Also, (according to you) having a Jewish State is a foreign policy flaw, but yet having twenty plus Muslim States is not? True, you stated some criticism of the Muslim States, but I have not seen you go so far as to say that having even so much as one Muslim state–let alone twenty plus of them–was/is a foreign policy flaw. And from 1920 through the present, what positive contribution–let alone adding an “s” to that–have they made? All I have seen from them have been their unneceesary, unjust, immoral, illegal and evil war against Israel as well as their waging war against other non-Muslim states as well as against each other for various different reasons (it didn’t start with the “Arab Spring”). So therefore, a stronger case can be made that the one Jewish State (Israel) should stay and the Muslim States should disappear than the other way around.

Anyway, Libya is already lost (again) but the good news is – Syria still has the Assads, and what is escalating there is a civil war. Hopefully, Hizbullah sends all their fighters there, because if the Assad regime falls, the Shia domination of Lebanon will be replaced by a Sunni one, and Israel will have 3 Muslim brotherhood neighbors – Syria/Lebanon, Hamastan and Egypt. Rather than that, it’s a lot better if all Shia fighters – Hizbullah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Badr Brigades of Moqtada al Sadr all pour into Syria, and on the other side, Turkey & Saudi Arabia send in as many Sunni fighters from their favorite groups – Hamas, Fatah, and so on. In order to prevent Sunnis from having a cakewalk – and this is important – the objective in Syria is to have a stalemate in a civil war and suck in jihadis – both Shia & Sunni – from everywhere – in order to prevent Sunnis from having a cakewalk, make sure that Turkey & Saudi Arabia are distracted. Iran should encourage the PKK in Turkey, as well as another rebellion in Bahrein following a report released on the repression earlier this year. Maybe even an Iranian invasion. Let Iran & Saudi Arabia fight either a proxy or a real war in Bahrein, as well as one in Syria. That way, Saudi Arabia will be forced to draw in Sunni Jihadis from even other places, like Pakistan, Libya, Egypt, North Sudan, Tunisia, et al.

Remember – the goal here should be to have a permanent Alien vs Predator scenario in Syria so that jihadis are too busy slaughtering each other there to care about either building mosques or indulging in dawa here or elsewhere in the West.

The people we have placed in command of our military and in charge of our treasury have squandered trillions of $$$’s to create a restored world wide OTTAMAN EMPIRE. The big question: Are Americans simply going to sit back and watch their politicians and public servants transform America into a “grand Fallujah” or are they going to take the ONLY meaningful action to regain their Constitutional Republic…a 20 million man march on Washington DC armed with pitchforks and shotguns??
