Told Ya So! I Warned Long Ago About “Springtime” Libya (Hannity Urged Obama to Aid Rebels, Now Pretends Otherwise)

By Debbie Schlussel

While I was away for the last of the Jewish holidays, Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi was summarily executed (after apparently being beaten and tortured) by our new “democrats,” the murderous Muslim sharia thugs and barbarians our nation and NATO embraced as “freedom fighters.”  Congrats.  The non-existent moongod, allah, is smiling.  Told ya so.  I warned against this at the beginning, back in March, on this site.  I also noted that the only–yes, the ONLY–foreign policy success of the Bush administration, our detente with Qaddafi, would be destroyed.  And I was right.  It was the ONLY good dividend of Bush’s Iraq war.  But, make no mistake, while Obama is the idiot who implemented this Muslim “Springtime Libya,” Bush is the father of it, with his eight years of speeches about Arab world democracy and an Iraq war to bring this “democracy” to Iran-backed Shi’ites in Iraq.

Islam = Barbarism & They Backed It

And now the media is shocked–shocked!–that the Muslims who tortured, sodomized, and summarily executed their former leader, are as barbaric or worse than he was and even more Islamically fundamentalist with their predictable announcement–courtesy of Libyan National Transitional Council Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil, that Islamic law would be the new law of the land.  And–surprise!–nearby Tunisia just elected the Islamist party. Hmmm . . . where are all the conservatives who moronically lectured me during eight years of Bush speeches about Arab democracy that I’m bigoted to say they can’t handle democracy and free elections? Where are you idiots? It’s the sound of crickets chirping.

Here’s a flashback quote from my March 8, 2011 post, “Let allah Sort It Out:  US Should Stay Out of Libya”:

I despise Qaddafi as much as anyone, since he bombed Marines at a German disco and initiated the Pan Am 103 bombing over Lockerbie Scotland (an operation which was taken over by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command). And I’ve attacked him ad nauseam on this site and elsewhere over the decades. But if you think he’s worse than the extremists who will surely replace him, you’re a moron and simply know absolutely zero about the Middle East and the Islamic world. In every single place–including Iraq–where we’ve gotten involved and urged “democratic elections” and the toppling of dictators, it’s been a disaster. Every single place: Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq. And if you like those, you’ll love a post-Qaddafi Libya. That’s why the CAIR Action Network and HAMAS folks love it. Why can’t we take that giant hint? . . .

If we had only backed Hosni Mubarak and allowed him to bomb the heck out of Tahrir Square (or otherwise quell the extremist Egyptian masses) . . ., if we had only backed Qaddafi and allowed him to do the same with his radicals on the streets (more than he’s doing now), we wouldn’t see this instability throughout the Mid-East. We will suffer the ripples of this Arab Street “democracy” BS forever after. . . .

And that’s in addition to the fact that we made a successful treaty with Qaddafi and got him to give up his chemical weapons and nukes. It’s a treaty I repeatedly opposed on this site (see also here), but we made our bed, and we must sleep in it. It will be a lesson to all leaders across the globe that if the U.S. makes treaties with them, it ain’t even worth crap, just a few years later (kinda like all treaties the Muslim world makes). Ask yourself, do you want our crazy dictator whom we know and can predict . . . or their crazy Islamic extremist junta whom we know from the other heads of the same hydra–the 9/11 hijackers, HAMAS, etc. and who will seize the oil wells and charge us an arm and a leg . . . and some American arms and legs?

Really, what world leader will ever trust us, help us, or make an agreement with us again when we do this? Bush forced Pervez Musharraf out and ushered in the more extreme Ali Asif Al-Zardari, who fosters Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. He took out the one block to Iran’s Shi’ite crescent, Sunni Saddam Hussein, and let the Shi’ites have free elections to vote in Iran-backed Shi’ites. (Now, conservatives whine about Obama pulling the troops out of Iraq, when Bush is the one who ushered Iran in and no matter how long we stayed that fact is now permanent.) Now, Obama succeeds in driving out American ally Mubarak from Egypt and American quasi-partner Qaddafi, with both being replaced ultimately by Islamic fundamentalists who hate us. Yes, Obama and Bush toppled Middle East stability and brought us this. (If you don’t think Bush was a part of this, you didn’t listen to his “Arab democracy” speeches for eight years and forgot about his war in Iraq.) I warned about this “Arab democracy” BS on this site (when Bush was crowing it) years ago and ever since.

I also showed you videos of these “liberal democrats” torturing Qaddafi soldiers and slicing them up alive in front of cheering Libyan townspeople, their fellow typical Muslim barbarians.  What do you expect?  They are Muslims and Arabs.  It’s in the blood.  Any indignant self-appointed peacenik who calls me “bigoted” or “racist” (what race is Islam?) is an idiot.  They simply refuse to open their eyes, while shouting left-wing multi-cultural BS about how they are humans.  These are the same people who attacked me–on the right, not just the left–for noting that Lara Logan met the real Muslims she was cheering when they gang-raped her in Tahrir square.  These are the same guys over in Libya, with artificial, internationally imposed borders of a Greater Barbaria that is Arabia and the Islamic world.

Yes, I warned you back in March when we first started considering bombing Libya and then sent our drones and planes to bomb the country, that a post-Qaddafi Libya was a big mistake.  I repeatedly noted there was no need for this, as I said then that we had a better-than-detente with Qaddafi.  As I noted, he gave up his nuclear arms, allowed inspectors, and welcomed American oil companies in.    I also warned that these “rebels” would probably restrict oil.  And that, too, will come.  They will not be welcoming of America’s oil companies, and even if they are, some estimates say it will be two years until the oil wells are pumping at full capacity again, as many were burned and destroyed during the war.

And while I warned against this, Republicans and conservatives, including John McCain, Lindsey Grahamnesty, Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin Fraudkin cheered this on (now, they are lying and claiming they were the other way, just as Fraudkin did when she agreed with Al Sharpton that Don Imus would be fired, then did a 180 when she discovered those of us who really are conservative and believe in free speech were not on Sharpton’s side).   Fraudkin even whined her typical, predictable, ignorant whine and faux-tears about the leftist American reporters who chose to go to Libya to cheer on the “rebels” and then were detained by Qaddafi.  So sad, too bad.  Hannity REPEATEDLY attacked Obama for not helping the rebels and called on him to do so, leading the right wing’s drumbeat in February and early March.  Now, he claims he was against it.  Whatta fraud.

Now, we are left with the aftermath of their cheering of the Obama decision to remove Qaddafi and fight on the side of these Al-Qaeda barbarians.  Oh, and don’t forget Fouad Ajami, who portrays himself as a “moderate” Shi’ite Muslim, but who repeatedly cheered this on and continues to.  He’s paid a ton of money as a “scholar” at the conservative Hoover Institution.  If you are contributing to Hoover, you are funding his Muslim “Springtime Libya” BS fantasies which have been running in the Wall Street Journal and on radio and TV shows regularly.

All of these know-nothing “commentators,” who pretend to know something but know very little, were on the same side as HAMAS’ CAIR and the forces of evil.  And now they are trying to do backflips and flip-flops pretending they were against this, when they should have known better earlier but are simply ignorant and without the intellect they pretend to possess.  Not even close.

I thought Quadaffi made restitution to the Lockerbie families.
Didn’t they accept money from him? Shouldn’t they return the money?

Anyone who called the barbarians “rebels” is a know-nothing in my book.

lexi on October 24, 2011 at 2:51 pm

Exactly Debbie, you nailed it on the head yet again with this column. And I’m glad you’re calling out these far-right hacks, ie, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Conservative Establishment & Republican Establishment, etc. for their BS on the Libya situation. DS, these buffoons on the far-right who attacked and ridiculed you on this situation are nothing but “neo-cons”, and they have eggs all over their faces by claiming the so-called “Arab democracy”, in which indeed, they don’t recognize “democracy” in islamic countries in the middle east!

They only understand “Sharia/Islamic Law”, simple as that. Another thing, Gadhafi was wanted by the “International Criminal Courts” for his crimes against his own people in Libya, but since the so-called rebels killed him, they ought to be tried by the “ICC”!

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

The latest out of Libya: “Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the chairman of the National Transitional Council and de fact [sic] president, had already declared that Libyan laws in future would have Sharia, the Islamic code, as its “basic source”.”

By executive order, the prohibition on polygamy has been lifted, and regulations to prohibit the payment of interest on loans will be forthcoming.

Anyone believe the mainstream media – busy promoting Obama’s “triumph” in Libya – will be mentioning this?

Debbie

Don’t worry – once the Assad regime falls, which seems to be more and more a matter of when, rather than if, the Shi’ite crescent may be broken. Unless of course, Iran manages to win over the Sunnite Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, the way they have the support of Hamas. But either way, Syria would be solidly in the Iran block, and the best hope for the West is a protracted civil war in Syria that attracts Shi’ite and Sunnite fighters from the entire region

What I find to be totally hilarious is that as recently as late Saturday night and on Sunday I was watching some so called conservatives on FOX actually supporting what Obama did here, especially the so called strategy of “lead from behind” (Reminds me of a phrase from the TV show MASH where Klinger said “If my dog had a face like yours I’d shave its head and teach it to walk backwards”)

I_AM_ME on October 24, 2011 at 3:41 pm

Don’t see what the big problem is. So they elected conservative Muslims to their government – look at America we have been electing more and more conservative Christians to government. And our basis for our laws here is the Christian religion (even though I know we are not a Christian nation).

The issue is that THEY NOW ARE responsible for their leaders. They can no longer say its the US who installed these people. And so whatever comes from their election will be what they deserve (for the record I do hope peace and stability will finally reach these people).

The Libyans and Arabs at large will have a huge learning curve – but in the end I believe it works out best for the US and Western nations as they now see us as helping them and at the same time they no longer see us as their leaders puppet masters. It may make diplomacy a little more tough, but over all and over the long the Western Nations will be better off.

Unfortunately for Israel it may work out the other way, as they may not view them with the same positive view as they will no view us – but in the long run the West had to chose between saving its 600 million citizens or Israels 15 million.

That, my dear is exactly why America fought this war! There was little, if any American investment in Libya; none to ruin. Now, ask yourself: who does the disruption of Libyan petroleum production benefit?

Yup! That's who! The Saudis! You know, the guys who have a king that our President bows down to; the guys who re-invented "taxation without representation" and no conservative (real or fake) dares to confront.

When the bombing started and Libyan oil production ceased, it was "our good friends" from Saudi Arabia to the rescue. At prices spiked from panic, they stepped in and raked in the cash while taking credit for doing us a "big favor".

The Saudis; the people who brought you "the best government petrodollars can buy".

Bush? O'Bama? The next one? It doesn't matter. They don't take bribes while in office; well not usually. They collect after they leave office. It's called "The Saudi Retirement Plan" and you can see it in action with every former President, Sec. of State and other high ranking government office holders. These are people who made decisions which kept the oil machine lubricated.

Why are people surprised that European nations are going bankrupt and the economic life is being sucked out of our country? Do you ever bother to look at our national petroleum bill? Today, it exceeds what we spend on national defense!

The corruption is deep and entrenched. It's not even a secret anymore! Years ago, the Saudis used to lobby via the U.S. petroleum industry. Today, they do it direct through CAIR, MSA, AADC etc.

Few if any commentators mention the Saudis; not the LIBS and certainly not the conservatives. Mentioning the Saudis is taboo. And that goes double for FOX News.

Wow – Debbie I am in complete disagreement with you on this.

To subjugate an entire people because its better for the US and the “Oil Companies” is what led the foundation of the Al-Qaeda terror group.

I actually agree with George, yes in the short term it maybe more difficult for us, but these people can no longer blame us for what happens in their countries since they elected their people.

Debbie I do agree that this whole thing was started by GWB – but the truth is every people deserves to elect their leaders – if they are with us or against us its not right to subjugate them under extremelty violent tyrants because it makes our lives easier.

That is a very narrow minded of you

Of course you agree with George. Are you another “White Guy” with thoughts? You would be better off practicing your wudu than posting here Coordinated spam is very obvious, unconvincing, and boring. I would respect you more if you were up front about your Islamist views.

    Worry01 on October 25, 2011 at 3:27 am

Jason Hains,

Your view is very narrow minded. The Al Qaeda rulers of Libya will introduce a form of government that will make Ghaddafi’s rule look like tiptoe through the tulips in comparison.

They will become one more in the legion of anti American radical Islamist countries and will threaten us in a number of ways.

In any case, we should be interested in a form of government that leaves us safe even if it is more uncomfortable for the other countrymen. Saddam Hussein should have been left in charge of the Islamist crazies in Iraq.

Why should we desire to be endangered for the nonexistent phantom of freedom in those countries.

Facts Life on October 24, 2011 at 4:35 pm

These people hate us. They’re not grateful for our assistance and they will be even harsher dictators than those they overthrew. Not a moderate or a liberal in their leadership and liberal parties in the Arab World are few and between and are relatively tiny. In contrast, the Islamists have the most following and are well organized.

The US is now backing a Turkish created Syrian opposition leadership that is overwhelmingly Sunni Arab and Islamist. The Alawites, the Christians and the Druze would rather stick with the devil they know than have the Islamists take over. We’re looking set in Syria to repeat the Libyan disaster and what infuriates me is Republican morons haven’t learned the lesson. Ironically enough, we should thank the Russians for the veto in the UN. I am no fan of the Assad regime but I firmly believe we should not be making things worse than they are. Change is not always good.

NormanF on October 24, 2011 at 9:04 pm

Dear Jason,

welcome to the world of reality.

If the Libyan people are “electing” to start a fight with us, then I elect to pave their country flat. Daffy was a scumbag, but a neutralized one. Supporting the “rebels,” who will oppress their people worse and pose an asspimple problem to us, was a mistake, pure and simple.

Occam's Tool on October 24, 2011 at 4:44 pm

George and Jason, where have you been? Have you not been watching the Middle Eastern events at all in the past few years. They do not need a reason to burn our flags, blame the US for installing leaders, hold signs saying “down with USA” and “death to Israel.” We are the big Satan and Israel is the little Satan. We are the West and they have declared war on the West. Heads out of the sand… No good will come from this, and yes, the women who used to be able to have a little freedom in these places will blame us forever.

Islamists are getting control of the Mediterranean Sea. They control the Suez Canal. Now, if they take control of Morocco, the Strait of Gibraltar will eventually fall into their hands, thus giving Islamists control of navigation of the Mediterranean Sea.

Rodrigo Veleda on October 24, 2011 at 7:37 pm

George and Jason. A couple of morons. Fat in their ignorance, but with giant hubris so they think they know what the hell they are talking about…when looking at the Islamic world, as it turns, PROVES they know not a thing. Well, since you two dopes are here, I recommend you start reading the archives. DS will teach it to you plainly.

The trouble is simple. You either know your Islam or you don’t. I certainly didn’t at one time when early in the Iraq conflict. I thought that any country will and can welcome democracy. I knew NOTHING about the ME but just because it was good in USA, I stupidly and ignorantly thought the ME would welcome it. Then I studied Russia, and when I saw that the peeps of Russia are not even keen on it (and they are a waaaaaay different beast than ME Mooooooslims!) I knew I better get to steppin’ on the truth of the matter. If you do not know ME history or the history of Islam, you know NOTHING and must start from the beginning.

I first sorta realized all that when in Savage’s book he feared that liberating Iraq could be a huge gift to Iran. I didn’t know my stuff then so I just hoped he was wrong. Now I see I was naive and uninformed. And I think Dr. Savage’s worst fears are realized. It will get worse before it gets better. We are in big trouble.

And the faux Conservative fools have been a HUGE disappointment. If you are not researching topics like this of those like-minded with DS, you are NOWHERE! And now is not the time to let stupid “hope” get you through.

DS is quite right on all fronts. Bush gambled and lost. And America is not even close to getting out of this mess. The Moooooslims will terrorize and terrorize for years and years to come.

And watch out. There are tons of fakers out there trying to make it seem as it is not as bad as it will be. They will be of no help.

In the real world, grown-ups KNOW they have to pick the lesser satan…and they were Mubarak and Quaddafi. DS warned us and many, many more I-told-you-so’s are coming from her. Because at the end of the day, she knows what she is talking about more than most. I just wish every American came here to learn.

Skunky on October 24, 2011 at 8:06 pm

Qaddafi was no saint. He was a backer of terrorism against Israel and the West and whoever replaces him can’t be worse. That said, I was never under the illusion the Arab Spring would produce democracies. Everywhere free elections have been held, Islamist parties have come to power. In every Arab country with an open political system, the big winners have been extremists. It will be the same in Libya. The Middle East is the one great expectation to 1989: that revolutions produce moderate and stable democracies. It would be great if they did like in Eastern Europe/former Soviet Union. But in the Middle East they won’t.

NormanF on October 24, 2011 at 8:56 pm

The Libyans seem quite civilized compared to the Egyptians. At least the Libyans raped someone who had it coming, whereas the Egyptians raped a news reporter whose only crime was being stupid enough to hang around alone amongst a crowd of moslems.

CornCoLeo on October 24, 2011 at 9:10 pm

I keep thinking of the Jewish guy who went to post-Qaddafi Libya to re-open its Grand Synagogue in Tripoli. He was forced out by Libyan mobs who didn’t want Jews to return to the country.

And you have the chutzpah to call the Libyans “quite civilized.” People who hate Jews are barbarians in my book as well those who execute their own ex-leader without even a show trial.

Run by me again how Libya is going to become the Arab Spring’s first model democracy.

NormanF on October 24, 2011 at 10:00 pm

I always wonder about what the news isn’t telling us about, as Debbie has mentioned in many posts. I think about the thousands of Qaddafi’s supporters and what has happened to them. How many were tortured, murdered, raped? What became of his female guards?

Our politicians reveal their ignorance or intent to obfuscate the truth when they refer to our republic as a democracy, which is one of the worst forms of government man has devised. Why does the media allow the reporters and politicians to promote the idea of democracy being anything good or desirable? I heard Newt Gingrich refer to “our democracy” three times during an interview, and he is a collage professor? We are losing the battle – badly.

Dr Dale on October 24, 2011 at 9:59 pm

What was Qaddafi doing for us exactly? Keeping what stable? His own country? Big deal.

The West should have done everything in their power to keep the Dictators in place, instead of re-introducing stone age and sharia back again into these countries.

There is NO ALTERNATIVE TO DICTATORS in islamic country.

Mallory on October 25, 2011 at 3:16 am

Most of the countries in the Middle East had parliamentary governments in the past, but they always failed. Islam is by its very nature very anarchic and violent. Even Saddam Hussein admitted that Iraqis needed a “rough hand”, and he was quite correct from what we have seen. The same could be said for the populations inhabiting those other Islamic wonderlands.

    Worry01 on October 25, 2011 at 3:32 am

Jason

If you think all these countries are democracies, ask the Copts in Egypt, Maronites in Lebanon, Assyrians in Iraq, Christians in Pakistan & Indonesia, Christians and Hindus in Malaysia. All these Muslim countries have popularly elected leaders, but the minorities I listed live like they are people that the mafia has put a price on.

You may think that Muslims won’t be able to blame us if things go wrong in their countries, but since when has it ever stopped them? They are incapable of thinking rationally, and so they’ll blame the West if there is an earthquake in Iran. In the 80s, the US did leave Afghanistan to its own devices, and the Taliban rose from that. Solution in Afghanistan should have been to totally disarm everyone in that country, and carpetbomb them, and leave. None of that nation-building, reconstruction bs. Today, Karzai says that he’d take Pakistan’s side in a war against the US.

Similarly, don’t be surprised if Libya, rich in oil and relatively far from Israel and Europe, becomes the next Afghanistan. And no action will be taken against them, since they would be ‘democratically elected’.

Infidel on October 25, 2011 at 4:17 am

Islam has never undergone an Enlightenment like in Christian Europe.

Its been stagnant for centuries. There’s no tradition of individual identity, free thought and innovation like we know in the West.

In the Arab World, the nation state is merely a flag of convenience for the hostile tribes under a particular country’s banner. All that unites people is Islam but it has only repressed – not peacefully settled – age-old tribal feuds, ethnic conflicts and bids for power.

Nothing is going to change in those respects in the future.

Unfortunately, “The Hague” has no jurisdiction for crimes of NATO, because NATO can start wars going unpunished. What kind of justice is this ?!

Libya was a sovereign country, the richest country in Africa. Women were allowed to study and they had a health-care system americans can only dream of, and a very good infra-structure.

he ensured security for Israel because he kept his country stable and fought off Al Qaida and Muslim brotherhood. Now anarchy and mob will rule, like in the so called “democracy” in Iraq.

But who cares about the libyan population, most important:
THE OIL is now in the “right” hands.

And who says that the terrorist-rebbels are Libyans?
I bet they are only paid criminals by Nato and the Emir of Katar.Who gave them the weapons?

You still have Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania in the Domino Effect. Once that’s done, you’ll have created a new Western Sunni Wahhabist Caliphate!

And in the East: Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and even Turkey would all fall and be part of a new Eastern Shi’ite Caliphate.

And Israel will be so screwed as these 2 rival factions will go tooth, fang and claw over it.

Please try not to overstate the obvious when you mention blackmailed Euro societies, 2-faced activists and the death of conservatism (yeah, I said that). I prefer my arguments short, sweet and passionate.

Hillary Clinton was given the position of Secretary of State, a position one would normally think would demand a person with a certain amount of diplomatic ability. During her visit with the groveling, bowing terrorists, she made the following statement regarding Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi:

“We hope he can be captured or killed soon so that you don’t have to fear him any longer.”
Clinton was planning to hold talks with NTC chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil, Mahmoud Jibril and Ali Tarhouni, all playing their make believe roles. Fact of the matter is, these people are nothing but terrorists, since the power to rule comes from the people.

The people of Libya do not want this trash as their leaders.

The image of the Wicked Witch of the West meeting with a gaggle of demonic, murderous, genocidal criminal filth is one that will cause nightmares for years to come.

Mallory, your links have been first class. Nearly a decade ago peace was made with Gaddafi. He made visits to all significant offices internationally and this was reciprocated by visits to Libya, from Condoleeza Rice, Tony Blair, Prince Andrew and the rest. Never did Gaddafi violate these agreements or become a threat to the West. There are photographs of the excited Obama shaking hands with Gaddafi after the USA elections.Gaddafi it is alleged paid off Farrakhan’s debts too. Gaddafi’s contribution to the African Union was immense and his vision for their future was commendable. However, whilst the West was drowning in debt Libya was sitting on billions of dollars. Besides Gaddafi’s weird ‘drag queen’ garb he was never flashy as in the Saudi’s with Swarovski crystal covered mercedes benz’ and gaudy, overdone palaces.
If Gaddafi was such a threat to humanity why didn’t the powers that be trot around to the UN building and take him in whilst visiting the USA. Obama knew that Gaddafi was sitting on billions of dollars (allegedly 250 billion), and his intention was the redistribution of these billions to the debt riddled West. Banks in the West plus those in Africa, China, Russia already housed the Libyan investments. The frozen Libyan dollars could command 10 to a 100 times the amount of money in loans, reducing the USA’s debt surreptiously on paper, a window dressing exercise.
Gaddafi’s only threat was bringing the western economic system to it’s knees and he had to go. The UK Telegraph had a video of the Narcissist in Chief, rabbiting on about HIS good job in Libya, cringe worthy stuff. But it looks like the spread of the MBH is working with the help of the WH. Sharia will be on everyone’s lips and a noose around their necks.

So much stinking stuff that needs questioning, this saga is far from over and the road ahead does not look pretty….

Mu’ummar Qaddafi:
“I did all I could to help people understand the concept of real democracy, where people’s committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed “democracy” and “freedom”… never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup.

Western European countries and USA didn’t pay to Libya 200 billion dollars for the Libyan oil they got.

That’s why they waged the war on Libyan people – bombed it with mini nukes and aerosol bombs to Stone Age and now like a final touch here comes the stoning as a punishment for those who don’t like the newly arrived “democracy”!

The EU and US owe Libya over 200 BILLION$ for Libyan oil.
Also, oil concessions for western oil companies are due to expire in 2012, and Gaddafi said that if they don’t pay he would give the new concessions to RUSSIAN and CHINESE oil companies.

Mallory, thank you for the info.It appears that you’re correct in the non-payment by Western governments to the Libyans. As a result of the non-payment Gaddafi through the AU was introducing a different payment of ‘the gold dinar’ where the USA dollar would not be the reserve currency for oil repayments, it would be the new gold backed currency, which could not be manufactured. There is a YouTube available with these facts. 4 World leaders had met to discuss this as they were peeved by the USA’s printing of dollars which heightened inflation but keep the oil payments high with USA advantaged. Gaddafi had more than 148 tonnes of gold.
Besides the oil debacle Gaddafi was well placed with other investments in South Africa and the neighbouring states. Zuma was loathe to return Gaddafi’s money but the screws were on him to do so. Zuma, Mandela and other African leaders had a strong bond with Gaddafi that went back many years and in Africa these bonds are never broken. News yesterday stated that the ailing Hosni Mubarak wept when he heard the fate of his friend, Gaddafi.
I guess all the returned BILLIONS will go into the same pot as the Haitian Billions, raised in the aftermath of the earthquake…..the bank in the Bermuda Triangle…
