Pew Report: 1/3 of US Muslims Support Al Qaeda, Suicide Bombs; 25% Came to US Under Bush, Obama

By Debbie Schlussel

The mainstream media is hyping the latest Pew Research Center survey on Muslims in America (which is not as extensive or detailed as its 2007 predecessor, which is referenced in my analysis below, also) as showing that Muslims in America are “mainstream,” “moderate,” and “middle class,” just like you and me. But a close look at the survey (I read all 136 pages) reveals that Muslims in America (who often lie to deceive the infidels, per taqiyya) are in fact every bit as radical and extremist as I’ve diagnosed for the last couple of decades.  And that they haven’t changed much in the four years since the last survey in 2007.  I’ve used both the 2007 and 2011 surveys below, and have noted the years in parentheses, so you know where I’m getting the data for my analysis.  The survey shows stark evidence of how President Bush opened the floodgates to Muslim aliens.  Oh, and those Muslims he helped, after seeking their endorsement in his Presidential race–they are extremely liberal and support even bigger government and entitlements than we have now . . . by vast majorities.

Despite the fact that extremist Muslims leaders, including Ihsan Bagby and Ingrid Matteson, served as advisors to massage the results (in 2007 and reportedly again in 2011), the study still shows that a high number of U.S. Muslims support Al-Qaeda, deny that 9/11 was committed by Arabs, and admit that being a devout Muslim conflicts with a modern, Western lifestyle. The study also shows a disturbing number of young U.S. Muslims who support the use of homicide bombings to achieve goals. They are the future of Islam in America. And, finally, the report shows that at least one of every three Muslim immigrants (28%) in America in 2007 came here during the Bush Administration, the ultimate evidence that Bush pandered to Islam and ignored 9/11.  Thanks, George W.  You’re a pal.  And a good number more came here under Obama, with 40% of all Muslim immigrants now in America, having come here from 2000-2011. They–the Muslim immigrants who came here under Bush and Obama–make up 25% of all Muslims in America today.

Here are some of the results–and remember that these numbers would be even higher if all Muslims answered the survey truthfully.  Remember, also, that Pew is liberal and tried to present the results in the most favorable light to Muslims, and yet the numbers still present a different picture:

Disturbing Numbers of U.S. Muslims Support Suicide Bombings:  19% of American Muslims said suicide bombings are okay (2011).  And the number jumps in other categories:  18% of foreign born Muslims said suicide bombings are generally okay.  And (in 2007–figures not available in 2011) 22% of foreign born Arab Muslims said suicide bombings are okay.  Yup, nearly one out of four Arab Muslims in America says it’s okay to blow you up.  And those are the ones who openly said so to Pew.  Again, the number is far higher in reality.  In 2011, 31% of Muslims aged 18-29 said suicide bombings are okay–that’s one in three young Muslims in America, who thinks it’s okay to blow you and your families up.

Third of U.S. Muslims Support Al-Qaeda: Despite the claims of Barack Obama and many Muslim leaders after Osama Bin Laden was killed, almost half of U.S. Muslims support Al-Qaeda. While 70% of U.S. Muslims view Al-Qaeda, which murdered 3,000 Americans on 9/11, “very unfavorably,” the other 30% view Al-Qaeda favorably, only somewhat unfavorably, or don’t know/refused to answer (which means they support Al-Qaeda).  Yup, that means that 30% didn’t have too much of a problem with Al-Qaeda.

* Half of Muslims Are Muslim First, American Last, only 1/4 Are American First: 49% of U.S. Muslims said they think of themselves as Muslims first, not Americans (up from 47% in 2007).  If you add the 7% who refused to answer/don’t know, it’s 56%.  If you add those who said they are “both” first, it’s 74% who do not identify as American first.  While 44% say they display the U.S. flag, their flag displays are just props, since only 26% of U.S. Muslims said they are American first.  Among Muslims aged 18-29–the future Muslims in America–only 25% said they think of themselves as American first.  60% said they are Muslim first, 5% refused to answer (which means they are Muslim first) and 10% said “both equally” (which means they are Muslim first).  Even among those Muslims who said they are American first, 15% supported suicide bombings, and 39% didn’t believe that Arabs perpetrated the 9/11 attacks.  So much for being “American first.”

Almost Half of U.S. Muslims Don’t Want to Be Americans: 28% of U.S. Muslims said that Muslims should not adopt American customs.  That number jumps to 44% if you count the Muslims who said they should both adopt American customs AND remain distinct and not adopt American customs.

9/11 Truthers – Majority of American Muslims Don’t Believe Arabs Perpetrated 9/11 Attacks:  Yes, the majority of Muslims in America are 9/11 Truthers.  The 2011 survey didn’t address this question, but the 2007 survey did.  60% U.S. Muslims don’t believe Arabs committed the 9/11 attacks. (The number jumps to 78% among Arab Muslim immigrants.)  So who do they think did it?  The survey doesn’t fully address that because it would make Muslims look like the Jew-haters and America-haters that they are.  But we know the drill.  The survey results:  8% of  U.S. Muslims believe that Jews, Israel, the Mossad, the CIA, and/or the U.S. government committed the attacks.  52% wouldn’t say, which means they also believe Jews and the U.S. did it.

* More Than a 1/3 of U.S. Muslims Think Islamic Extremism is Okay:  35% of U.S. Muslims said they are not concerned about Islamic extremism around the world.  36% said there is a great deal/fair amount of extremism among U.S. Muslims.  40% said they are not concerned about Islamic extremism in the U.S.

Bush Opened the Floodgates to Muslim Immigration Even After the 9/11 Attacks, But They Did Not Come Here b/c of Persecution:  28% of all Muslim immigrants in the U.S. in 2007 came here from 2000-2007 (2007).  40% of Muslim immigrants currently in the U.S. came here from 2000-2011.  Most of that is the Bush Administration (some in the second figure from Obama, but most of it from Bush).  Shukran [Thanks], George.  Miss him yet?  In 2007, 18% of all Muslims in the U.S. were immigrants who came here during the Bush Administration (2007).  In 2011, that figure jumps to Muslim immigrants making up 25% of the U.S. Muslim population.  Yup, one in every four Muslims in the U.S. came here during Bush and Obama (mostly Bush).  And, contrary to the oft-made claim, only 20% of U.S. Muslim immigrants say they came here for persecution reasons and had it just fine over there.  The rest came here on student visas (so, why are they still here?) and for economic opportunities, because they were sponsored by Muslim family members, etc.  Yup, we know their agenda:  make America a Muslim nation.

Most Muslims Never Discriminated Against in America:  Despite the hype and lies of HAMAS’ CAIR Action Network and other Muslim groups, only 20% of Muslims in the U.S. say they’ve been the victim of “anti-Muslim” discrimination or that it’s a problem.

Muslims Are NOT Wealthy Contributors to American Society:  Despite the claims by Muslim propagandists and misguided left-wing Republicans like New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, most Muslims in America are not wealthy and contributors of jobs and other benefits to American society.  They are takers.  Only 22% of U.S. Muslims make $75,000 or more per year (down from 26% in 2007), below the U.S. total population average of 28%.  45% (up from 35% in 2007) of Muslims make less than $30,000 per year, whereas only 36% of the general population is at that salary level. 40% of U.S. Muslims are unemployed and 18% are only employed part-time.

31% of U.S. Muslims said there is conflict with being a devout Muslim and living in a modern society.  That’s scary since 18-29 year olds are the most devout group of Muslims and, therefore, the most unable to adapt to modern Western mores and customs.

Most U.S. Muslims Not Singled Out by Airport Security.  Most Muslims say they were never singled out by airport security.  And therein lies the problem.  They should be singled out.

Memo to Islamo-pandering Republicans – Most Muslims are Big-Government Liberal Democrats:  More evidence to stop listening to GOP Islamo-scumbag Grover Norquist a/k/a Jihad Grover.  70% of Muslims are Democrats or Democrat-leaning.  Only 11% are Republican or Republican-leaning, and of those 11% (2011 survey).  71% voted for John Kerry, 14% for Bush (2007 survey).  68% support bigger government than we already have and more services, and 73% think the government should do more for the needy (2011 survey).  Only 21% want smaller government, and only 17% say government can’t afford to do more for the poor (2007 survey).  Yup, these are NOT Tea Partiers and definitely not conservatives.  But they might be Paulnuts.

Contrary to Islamo-propagandist Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser’s claims, most U.S. Muslims pray daily and attend mosque.  Frank Gaffney’s and Daniel Pipes’ favorite Muslim propagandist and fraud, Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser–in trying to back up his claim that most Muslims in America are peaceful–frequently claims that most American Muslims neither pray daily nor attend a mosque (where they are usually poisoned with hate).  But the survey shows his claims are bunk.  Pew’s results show that 66% of Muslims pray daily, that only 8% never pray, and that only 19% never attend mosque.

It’s not possible for muslims to respect us. They know full well we won’t confront them as a nation because we’re cowards. We’re afraid of being “ugly”. If someone talks about deporting every last one of them, that person is hated by the other 90%, they’re investigated, they lose their job immediately. If I open my mouth one more time, I’m unemployed. The muslims know 75% of the country hates them but are too chicken-sh*t to say anything. Ha, if I were a muslim I’d be disgusted with us, too. Kind of hard to have more respect for people than they have for themselves. Same with the mexican invaders and White Flight. I already had to sign an equal opportunity retraining document for my file, don’t blame us knuckle-dragging haters.

John Harper, bro, if I was a muslim who minds his own business, lives his daily life and NOT bother or force my viewpoints down peoples throats endlessly, I would be vigilant and suspicious of my fellow co-religionist, and I to would be disgusted at the islamist as well if I were a muslim. And the samething can be said for DS if she were a muslim, she to would be vigilant towards her co-religionist who wrap themselves in their ideological religious thinking!

And BTW, I made a little freudian slip in my last post at 5:00 pm, I should’ve said, “Revolutionmuslim.com should be shut down right now as we speak”. That website ought to be closed down, because as I wrote in my 5pm comment, the posters incite and advocate for violence towards anyone who’s critical of their backward religion/ideology and criticizes Mohammed.

Why?

I can understand Obama bringing in more Muslims, but why Bush?
Why would Bush do that?
Votes? (really?)
Physical threat?
Orders from the Sauds?

Debbie’s mention of their religious observance and politics is another striking departure of Muslims from American norms. As we know from data, the more religious and observant a person is, the more conservative he is and the more strongly he identifies with his country. This is true for both Christians and Jews. But there is no difference in the liberalism of Muslims regardless of whether or not they go to the mosque regularly. They choose consciously, to be different from other Americans.

George W. Bush is a sentimentalist, not a realist. Say the words “family reunification” and you’ve won his heart. He honestly believed, and still does, that everyone has the capacity to be a good American, so long as they are inculcated with the right values at a young age.

America, in his view, is the central gathering point for a worldwide Diaspora of people hungering for liberty and tradition. It’s a lovely Cold War perspective. Unfortunately, it doesn’t apply well to the Third World and especially Islam.

It is the fatal assumption of universalism that a nation can be retrofitted at will to accomodate the whole world. We found that out with full force on 9/11/01 why this isn’t so. Bush is merely one manifestation of a larger paralysis.

Seek on August 31, 2011 at 12:19 pm

Bush was in Al-Saud pockets even before becoming president. Don’t believe?
    Before becoming president
    – Salim Bin-Laden was Bush’s business partner.
    After becoming president, Bush:
    – Blanked pages on Al-Sauds from 9/11 Interim Report.
    – Let Bin Ladens out when ALL flights were grounded.
    – He and Condi dragged feet over 9/11 commission.
    – Warned Ameicans over reacting to Muslims.
    – Doubled, yes, doubled student’s visas for Saudis!

Sorry to burst the Bush patriotic bubble!

Terrific writing Debbie, you are like the female version of “PI Bill Warner (who happens to be a close friend of yours and his website is on DS’s blog-roll). If the Pew Research is claiming that many muslims living in this country today are moderate and peaceful (there are some moderate muslims, but they have to raise their voices all call out koran-thumping islamist), then how come five years ago this muslim lady who goes by the name of “Lola Elzein” emailed Debbie all sorts of violent death threats against DS’s life and her family and relatives! Another thing, this girl, Lola Elzein posted a few comments (she posted under the screenname “JewishLeader”) on this blog and made and wrote a few death threats on this site, to me that doesn’t sound moderate or peaceful.

Another thing, if many muslims living in this country today are peaceful, then how come this website, “Revolutionmuslim.com” and the leader/founder of that site has made numerous death threats to Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park? And to me, Revolutionmuslim.com should down right now as we speak, because on that hateful site most of their posters have incited violence towards anybody who dares criticize islam and Mohammed, it’s NO longer about freedom of speech by making death threats towards anybody. And I hope the dhimmi-islamist-apologist see this Research by the Pew Center and finally wake the hell up and see what most of those muslims who were polled represents and stands for.

Sean R. on August 30, 2011 at 5:00 pm

    SeanR,

Debbie looked at all the data. The MSM is too lazy, uninformed or stupid to do that plus with political correctness, it will downplay Islamic extremism and seek to portray American Muslims in the best possible light.

The data is incomplete and yet it paints a very different picture from what Islamo-panderers in America would like to present. Its very scary. And if that data was really complete and Muslim respondents were completely truthful, it would be even more frightening.

Despite that, nothing is going to be done.

1/3 of Muslims in America support Al Queda; the other 2/3 lie and say they don’t.

Jonathan E. Grant on August 30, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Jon, the 1/3 figure Debbie cited is a conservative one. In reality, as she pointed out, its much higher. They’re going to lie to protect themselves and to conceal the fact virtually all of them are Islamic extremists. Muslim secularism is a myth. Turkey is now Islamist and that’s where the rest of the Muslim World is now heading. The picture will look very different in ten years’ time. By then it may be too late to do anything about it.

NormanF on August 30, 2011 at 5:17 pm

Its a striking and sobering contrast with the irreligious and secular orientation of American Jews – and their patriotism! That doesn’t paint a picture of peace and brotherhood to me. Like in Europe, Muslims hate their adopted country and its freedoms, advocate terrorism against it – and will practice it if they don’t think they would get caught – and they support a weakening of America’s defenses to Islam’s benefit. The Pew Poll results are alarming. But don’t look for things to turn around in the foreseeable future. The enemy is already within our gates and seeks to harm us and our families.
Yup, the compelling evidence is there for those who care to look at it and they can’t say they weren’t warned!

NormanF on August 30, 2011 at 5:13 pm

NOTHING shocking here.

samurai on August 30, 2011 at 5:24 pm

I WOULD be surprised if the data was anything like we’re told by pro-Muslim apologists. No doubt there are decent Muslims – there are decent people in every group among mankind G-d created. The problem is they are the exception and not the norm.

NormanF on August 30, 2011 at 5:47 pm

Debbie would be wrong about young people in that they usually are the most adaptable to life anywhere and are the most receptive to new ideas and influences. I should add she would be right about any other group of immigrants. And she is certainly right Islam presents a striking exception to that pattern. Its usually older people who are set in their ways and highly resistant to change. Young Muslims then should be assimilating into American society but they aren’t.

NormanF on August 30, 2011 at 5:25 pm

Norman, what’s going on is that the mosques are indoctrinating the youngins. You see, however contemptuous Muslim immigrants are of us, their mosques are kept under some control, usually, by the government where they lived. But the young get fully funded Saudi mosques in the milktoast West.

skzion on August 30, 2011 at 9:23 pm

In Muslim countries, the clergy is paid by the government and they don’t have freedom to engage in extremist sermons, unless its against the Jews, Israel and the West.

Unfortunately here, they are under no such restraints.

Even if you have NEVER heard of DS. Even if you’re as daft as dirt and drooling. Even if you are enthralled with the Karskanians and all they do, almost 10 years after 9/11 you’d be lying to YOURSELF if you haven’t raised an eyebrow to Islam and how CrAzY they are. And deep down, you know you’re giving them the hairy eyeball.

Now, what has happened 10 years after 9/11 and how ALL types have been able to cater sympathy to the Moooooslims is another ball of wax. (But a very pertinent one if you ask me.)

Most US Muslims Feel Targeted By Terror Policies, Gee I Wonder Why As Sarasota Islamic Center Mega Mosque Readies For 9/11 Grand Opening Without Al-Qaeda Linked Imam Muneer Arafat.

See photos from Florida shotgun shack to Mega Mosque, what the hell.

Let’s get real here, the Sarasota Fl area was the base of operations for 9/11 Al-Qaeda Hijack Pilots Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah, they had a support network entrenched in the area when Al-Qaeda linked Imam Muneer Arafat shows up at the Sarasota-Bradenton Islamic Center (Mosque) in March 2000 just 3 months before the Hijackers show up in the Sarasota area in June of 2000.

This is why I love reading Debbie’s blog, and I also like reading you’re own website Mr. Warner (and I also like Gun Toting Liberal’s blog as well, even though he’s a liberal who’s to the left-of-center), because the two of you do excellent investigative work.

BTW Mr. Warner, I love you’re investigative work for that disgusting, hateful islamist website called “Revolutionmuslims.com”. To me that site should be closed down by the FBI, because all the posters that comment on that site do is advocate and incite violence towards anyone who’s calls out the teachings and doctrines of islam!

Contentions Blog at Commentary Magazine has become as Islamo-pandering as Newsweek. They love Rick Perry and dismiss his Islamo-ties. Now they are pointing to the heavily massaged Pew Report to claim that American Muslims are moderate. The chief culprits are Alana Goodman, who is an idiot, and Jonathan Tobin, who’s very close.

A: Contentions and Commentary became pan-Muslim and amateurish long ago. I caught Tobin copying one of my articles, including my insights. And, yes, they pander to Muslims quite a bit as they have for years. You won’t read anything new or insightful at Commentary or Contentions, which is why I haven’t read it for years. The real Commentary, from the days of Norman Podhoretz, died a long time ago. This is just New Coke. And it stinks. That Alana Goodman is, indeed, an idiot. Her “defense” of Rick Perry is just a repeat of some moron name David Stein’s failed defense of him. Neither of them addressed the fact that CAIR supports Perry, that Agha Khan–Perry’s Muslim buddy–supports negotiating with the Taliban and HAMAS, etc. People who think that dumbass open-borders statis Perry is a good guy are morons. It’s not just the left wing who’s in bed with islam, the samething can be said for the right as well. For instance, earlier on this year Debbie wrote an article about “American Spectator” cuddling up with islam, etc., turns out she’s right about them. Jarhead on August 31, 2011 at 11:39 am

Adam and Sean, good points with the selling out to Islam by Conservatives. And just this am I heard on a local show (Jeff Katz) Fred Grandy (He’s a Republican former Congressman and those my age remember him as “Gopher” on The Love Boat”) and his wife were calling out the evil influence of that putz Grover Norquist and how the Republicans (and he named Boehner and Cantor) ARE indeed selling out to Islam influence. And he said there was lot$ of money behind it.

I am not sure how good Grandy’s credibility is (DS will tell us if he is not on the level) on Islam, but I have been listening with a keen ear as he and his wife are weekly guests and they SEEM to take it to Islam. Their main cause is to stop “creeping sharia”. And maybe they ARE on the level because I don’t hear ANYTHING about Grandy and his wife from anywhere BUT Katz’s show. (Not that his show is the best or anything, but locally I listen when I don’t have access to “Quinn & Rose”) And we know people who are on top of that sort of stuff ARE not as well known. That alone is a red flag to me sometimes.

He mentioned something like Norquist may even have ties to the MB. And that even before his marriage to a Muslim, he had ties to someone…please forgive me as I am totally going blank (hate when that happens) on the name…I’m thinking (phonetically) “al-Moody”.

Skunky on August 31, 2011 at 12:20 pm

Debbie, since you mentioned and bought up Rick Perry’s situation with the “Aga Khan”, a certain blogger who used to comment here (TexasFred), on his blog he said that group is considered “infidels” by regular islamist! I sorta knew that there was something fishy about the Aga Khan, since you also claimed that the Aga Khan supports and negotiates with the taliban and hamas, etc., I’m going to do a search about the Aga Khan and what they really represent. Don’t get me wrong Debbie, I’m not doubting you are calling you a liar on this issue, and could you write an article about the Aga Khan sometime in the future DS so everybody else can really know who these folks really are. I really don’t quite trust the Aga Khan that much and I’m pretty skeptical on them Debbie!

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on August 31, 2011 at 5:21 pm

Debbie,
Your take on this report is spot on, unlike the way PEW tried to skew the numbers. I’ve been evaluating this document the past few days (interrupted by useless “training”) and find that PEW fails to ask the really critical questions: 1) How many Muslims support physical jihad (to differentiate from “spiritual” jihad); how many give zakat? How many know that their zakat is used to support jihad in other lands? The survey talks about prayer and the hijab, but say nothing about jihad and zakat, leaving out key elements of Islamic belief.

Moreover, they fail to provide a comparison when it would be very useful. For example, how many Christians support bombing abortion clinics? This information is not provided because the statistic is so low as to make the support for suicide bombers stand out in stark relief. And when they compare the percentage of Christians who consider themselves Christian first with those who call themselves Muslim first, the comparison is meaningless as the U.S. historically is based on Judeo-Christian principles. Thus, in many ways being Christian first also means being American first in the eyes of many of these Christians. This is not the case for Muslims as their ideology is a radical departure from that of the U.S.

Thus, the PEW polling data is really more an exercise as propaganda than it is at trying to delve into the realities of what is really going on.

Russ on August 31, 2011 at 8:05 pm

Debbie notes:

“While 70% of U.S. Muslims view Al-Qaeda, which murdered 3,000 Americans on 9/11, “very unfavorably,” the other 30% view Al-Qaeda favorably, only somewhat unfavorably, or don’t know/refused to answer…”

I believe that many Muslims do view al-Qaeda unfavorably because the activities of this and other groups waging active jihad within America draw unwelcome attention to that component of Islam – the major one, in fact – which calls for global domination and subjugation of all non-Muslims. The attacks and resultant carnage of 9-11 spurred many, previously wholly ignorant of and uninterested in Islam as a belief system, to suddenly want to study it, and in doing so learn inevitably of Islam’s fundamental malevolence, and the nature of its threat to the rest of us – we, the kafirs – who are guilty of the enormity of unbelief. The events of 9-11 served to awaken some of us to the global menace of Islam and of believing Muslims who are its slaves, and whose ambition is to transform the world into a caliphate and drag it into eternal darkness and barbarism. By its actions, al-Qaeda had unwittingly revealed the hand that, previously, Muslims had held close to their collective vest. The cat was now out of the bag, and too many people were now beginning to notice. For this reason, al-Qaeda is viewed with disapproval from many Muslims, and not because of its violence, intolerance, and fanatacism per se.

commonsense on August 31, 2011 at 8:29 pm

    Commonsense,
Your assessment is largely correct. I have noted the same in my research and analysis on the topic. Much of the anger directed at al-Qaeda and other jihadi groups was due to the fact that their aggressive tactics put the spotlight on the growing Islamic movement in the West.

Russ on September 1, 2011 at 12:06 pm

I lived in England for 3 years. Radical islam is running wild and is out of control in Europe. This is no religion of peace. There only goal is to dominate and take over and destroy the West. We must fight this evil cult not embrace it.

Because I had left my copy of the PEW report in my office the other day, I would like to append the following to my previous comments based on my notes. If the people at PEW were truly serious they should ask the following questions to determine how serious a surveyed Muslim was about their religious belief:

1. “If someone ridiculed or defamed the Prophet Muhammad, would you support or engage in a jihadi act against that person to protect the honor of the Prophet?” (yes; possibly; no; don’t know)

2. “If someone disrespected, damaged, or destroyed the Qur’an, would you support or engage in a jihadi act against that person to defend the purity of the words of Allah from defilement?” (yes; possibly; no; don’t know)

3. “Do you believe that one day the United States will become an Islamic nation?” (yes; possibly; no; don’t know)

Questions like these will go much further in determining the depth of a Muslim’s religious convictions than asking them how often they pray.

In addition, think about the question regarding support for suicide bombers. The fact that it is even discussed is amazing. After all, no PEW poll surveys prolifers to ask them if they support suicide bombing of abortion clinics. Such is simply inconceivable. It should make our heads spin that it is even a question.

Finally, if 8% would support suicide bombings “sometimes” or “often,” how many Muslims would support violent jihadi acts against infidels that do not involve suicide attacks? Such a question is never postulated or even hinted at in the PEW survey. But if 8% would support such suicide operations, one can imagine how many would support, or even engage in, violent jihadi actions that were non-suicidal should they get the opportunity. Thus we should have seen a question like:

4. “If you had the opportunity, would you support or even personally participate in some form of physical jihadi act for the purpose of protecting the dignity of Islam?” (yes; possibly; no; don’t know)

As we can see, the PEW poll, while still providing some very revealing things, certainly missed the boat in providing us with REAL data as to the true state of the Muslim ummah in the U.S.

Jonathan Grant:

1/3 of Muslims in America support Al Queda; the other 2/3 lie and say they don’t.

Jon

You are definitely on to something. One thing to note about this poll is that while a Muslim who says that s/he supports al Qaeda, suicide bombings, don’t want to be American, etc is definitely telling the truth, since there is nothing to be gained by lying about it, and such numbers are definitely not joking.

But the ones who claim to oppose al Qaeda, suicide bombings, and other things, one has to take w/ a pillar of salt. From this population, an indeterminate number of them are lying, and practicing taquiya, and it’s just impossible to tell who are, or how many, since they lie so well. Therefore, the only solution is to assume that for practical reasons, all of them do.

Here is an analogy that one can use that shows the stark contrast in the way the government treats food-borne threats vs human (I use the term very loosely) threats. Whenever we hear of an outbreak of e-coli infesting a certain crop grown somewhere, that entire farm is quarantined. Sometimes, it’s a case of mad cow disease amongst certain livestock. Now, in all these cases, 100% of the vegetables, or the livestock, is not infested, but that doesn’t stop the FDA from telling stores all over the country not to stock any such produce from the farms where such food came from. This despite the probability that the amount of such food infested is probably less that 20%, but the FDA never takes such risks w/ the health of the average consumer.

But w/ terror, it’s known that Muslims from any country support al Qaeda, suicide bombings, terrorism under the guise of liberation, et al. As a result, any random Muslim can be dangerous – recall one ex Intel VP Meher Habash, a Pali, who had a great life, but after 9/11, tried to go off to China en route to Afghanistan to join the Taliban. Anybody w/ half a brain would know that Muslims are a far bigger threat to an average citizen than e-coli in some spinach – ask the families of victims of Mahmoud Taheriazar, Omar Popal or other Muslims who’ve indulged in random violence in the US. Yet, nobody from DHS does what the FDA does against far more innocuous threats.

But back to the above poll – the numbers Debbie cited are not the actual numbers, but just the minimum number of Muslims who are anti-civilization.

Did you get to see what average attitudes were about things like inter-religious marriage: would a majority of Muslims, as expressed in this poll, be okay with their daughter/sister/niece marrying non-Muslim men, without requiring them to convert to Islam? It’s a relevant question, since it reveals what minimum % of them are potential honor killers.

What about the American government sending aid to help al qaeda take Syria and Lybia huh?

there is this paragraph “the median percentage across the seven Muslim publics with very unfavorable views of al Qaeda is
38%, compared with 70% among Muslim Americans. (For more, see “U.S. Image in Pakistan Falls No Further Following bin Laden Killing,” June 21, 2011;” “Muslim-Western Tensions Persist,” July 21, 2011.)

56% of black US muslims have an unfavorable view of Al Qaeda.

But 5% of US muslims consider Al Qaeda favorable. 11% of black US muslims.
5% is a low figure. So probably many muslims are struggling liking them and distancing themselves from them, and having issues with them.
but key is, it’s not like 5% favorable. 95% unfavorable. It’s 70% unfavorable!

It’s worth bearing in mind.. muslim support for terrorism would’ve dropped a bit, once they got hit with it.. So sometimes their opposition to terrorism, is because it kills muslims.

Phil on July 17, 2012 at 11:30 am

Umm… those figures aren’t what is in the poll.

5% expressed favorable views of alQaida. Uhg. Man, I was just searching for the poll via a google search and pulled up a bunch of windows. I can’t believe this was hit 3.

Have your views, but don’t just say wrong things to get people “on your side.” Come on.

Every single number cited in this article is a lie. If you actually read the study, you will see, as Rebecca pointed out above, that the numbers are not even close to those in this article.

Say what you want to say but don’t make crap up so that you can feel like you’re not a racist xenophobe.
