BARF! Women’s Mag & Novel Lecture Us on “Hurts” of 9/11’s “Real Victims”: Muslims

By Debbie Schlussel

Another day, another idiotic chick mag promoting Muslims as “the real victims” of 9/11, rather than what they are:  the real perpetrators of it (and of most contemporary terrorist attacks on earth).

wtcattack.jpg

As I often note, women’s magazines are for dummies.  They’re for women whose biggest goal is being the first to wear the latest pair of Lululemon yoga pants and keeping Jennifer Lopez’s latest post-divorce outfits and boytoys. Which is to say, they are written for most American women. These magazines are written for sponges with a vagina–moronettes who will eagerly absorb whatever is being served, without any critical thinking involved.  And so it goes with Marie Claire, a magazine I’ve criticized repeatedly in the past for promoting Islam and Muslim extremism in a way the feminists who run the magazine would never do for Christianity or Judaism.

In the August 2011 issue of Marie Claire, the magazine spotlights and promotes “The Submission,” by Amy Waldman, as its “Marie Claire Radar:  Need to Read” book of the month.  And the description of this horrid book will disgust you as much as it did me, especially on the eve of 9/11’s tenth anniversary.  The article is not online and is only in the magazine’s print form, so I’ve retyped the relevant parts below:

THE SUBMISSION:  On the eve of 9/11’s 1o-year anniversary, an exquisite novel unearths old hurts

What if a Muslim architect had won the contest to design the World Trade Center memorial?  That’s the question that drives Amy Waldman’s gripping, deeply intelligent novel, The Submission. . . .  The book opens with jury member–and 9/11 widow–Claire Burwell pushing for the winning design, “The Garden,” only to learn that it was created by Mohammed “Mo” Khan, an American-born architect of Muslim descent who finds himself at the center of a media firestorm.

When Claire–who prides herself–on her ability to “see both sides” [DS:  Yeah, America should “see Bin Laden’s side,” right?!] –comes to Mo’s defense, a host of politicians, journalists, stricken family members, activists, and bureaucrats descend to pressure her about how Mo’s design should be “handed,” and the situation quickly devolves into a roiling mosh pit of sorrow, bigotry, and ideals.

Absurd. The fact is that, ever since 9/11, America has been pushing, pimping, and otherwise falling all over itself for Islam and Muslims for no reason other than to show the people who attacked us what nice guys (and stupid rubes) we are. In fact, if there had been a contest for the 9/11 memorial, they probably would have picked a Muslim on purpose. And there would have been no outcry, no uproar, or anything else, unlike the portrayal in this fiction book.

America and Americans have bent over backwards–and forwards–to accommodate and turn the other cheek to Islam and Muslims, whose “mainstream” leaders, schools, houses of worship, and clerics continue to universally and openly embrace terrorist groups that murder Americans.

But you’ll never see that in a book. ‘Cuz, hey, we wouldn’t want to point out the problems with the reality of still not facing the Islamic threat in our midst a decade after the 9/11 attacks. So, let’s just call everyone in America who knows better a “bigot” and write a chick lit novel ode to Big Muslim Love.

I’ve repeatedly said that the problem with Islam is Islam. And perhaps Ms. Waldman knows that, since she includes a “bigoted” columnist in her book who writes the exact same line.

But I know a lot about Islam. And everything I know about Islam, I learned well before 9/11. For the rest of the country, you learned everything you need to know about it on 9/11.

A work of fiction by a pandering liberal chick won’t change the truth. The only truth is unintentionally in the title of “The Submission.” As you may know, Islam means “submission,” not “peace,” as a bazillion ignorami (including President Bush) implored us to mindlessly accept after 9/11.

And for authoress Amy Waldman and brainless Marie Claire, the submission to Islam–and dhimmitude–is complete.

I saw this in the store yesterday and talked very loud about it. Not one person said anything…they looked like zombies and this was in middle America, far from the libturd NYC. Islam is a death cult. Islam is connected to Nazis and Marie Claire is a piece of filth.

Natasha, I understand where your coming from, I would love to meet a girl that thinks like you Natasha (I’m not flirting with you Natasha on a public message forum). And since I live in the ultra-left wing New York City area, I see crap like this in some of the stores and newsstand stores in the five boroughs of NYC!

Occam’s Tool, I to understand what your saying, my mother to is a liberal who voted for Obama three years ago (Ironically, my mother is not into politics, she’s more A-Political instead of politically involved), but despite that, she’s really a nice and friendly woman. She has recieved some “chick magazines” in the past, and I don’t think she reads the whole magazine from start to finish.

It is a magazine for the lowest common denominator minus two.

My mother is a Libtard who voted for Obama. She’s not very happy about the Monstrous Mosque that has opened up on Potter Avenue in Des Plaines (a suburb of Chicago), a few blocks from her apartment. It is definitely diminishing her property values, but she can’t cause and effect her politics with her misery. The schadenfreude is exquisite for me, as this is EXACTLY what I warned her about.

Yes, in your case it does. I sympathize with those killed and, and not with those who think 9/11 was perfectly okay or a Zionist Plot. Peddle your narcissism elsewhere, since it will find few takers here.

“What if a Muslim architect had won the contest to design the World Trade Center memorial?” What about the architect who won the contest to design the Flight 93 memorial? He designed a huge red crescent, which faces Mecca, and where the star would be, that’s where the plane crashed. Read some of the comments from 9/11 family members and others about this stealthy design: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/honorflight93/signatures?page=198 And here is my dramatized picture that shows at a glance what’s wrong with the Flight 93 memorial design: http://s528.photobucket.com/albums/dd329/agent8698/Crescent%20of%20Embrace/?action=view&current=Shanksvillesmall.jpg Alec Rawls wrote a book about it called “Crescent of Betrayal”.

There is little point in getting bent-out-of-shape because of some mindless pro-Muslim article appearing in the mindless rag, Marie Clair.

Such articles are symptomatic of a larger, more pervasive problem. And it all starts at the tone at the “top.” The last three U.S. presidents–Clinton, G.W. Bush, and now Obama– emphasize that problem very clearly. Here is a brief news article from AP published today:

—–

Obama marks Ramadan with Iftar dinner

AP – WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is hosting an Iftar dinner Wednesday evening to celebrate the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The Iftar is the dinner that breaks the holiday’s daily fast. The dinner became an annual White House tradition under President Bill Clinton and was continued by President George W. Bush. The White House says invited guests include religious and grass-roots leaders in the Muslim-American community as well as leaders of other faiths and elected officials.

——-

So, when you have three U.S. presidents celebrating Muslim holidays, you are only encouraging the media and others to do the same. Of course, beneath the mask of “bridge-building,” you have the implicit message that Muslim terrorism is not only tolerated, but welcomed.

Thus, British commentator Pat Condell is very much on target for the most part in one of his latest YouTube monologues. Although Condell is an athiest and his takes on Israel are not always well-conceived (again, probably due to his athiest views), there is no question that he well understands the dangers of pandering to Islam, and is able to express his views articulately, with force, and a touch of humor on a subject that is certainly not amusing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIesXORjBps

“Muslims as “the real victims” of 9/11” …this literally made me nauseated.

DS_ROCKS! on August 10, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Unfortunately some women do read (sic) these articles, since they have pretensions this will keep them informed (?!*@).

But I guess part of the rationale is that women and Muslims are both oppressed by the evil white male power structure.

If only they would just stick to hair styles.

Little Al on August 10, 2011 at 5:25 pm

Everyone is trying to be fair so as not to be called racists and/or bigots. If we love the muslims in our midst why would we want them to be following a false prophet. The pain and agony many muslims experience is due to following a false prophet and living in societies that uphold those false values ie polygamy, female genital mutilation, honor-killings, slavery (Sudan or maids in muslim households), prostitution (maids in muslim households), child-marriage (prophet M married a 6 year old), getting to heaven by killing others and dying in the process and killing the infidel, for example, Armenian Genocide, killing Greeks, and Hindu Genocide, killing Jews and killing Christians.

“In fact, if there had been a contest for the 9/11 memorial, they probably would have picked a Muslim on purpose. And there would have been no outcry, no uproar, or anything else, unlike the portrayal in this fiction book.”

Who needs a Muslim architect when there are dhimmis who, wittingly or not, throw Islamic motifs into their memorials. Witness the 9/11 Memorial in Shanksville shaped like a Crescent. Yes, there was an outcry about it; it’s been ignored.

Ironic that the author imagined a Muslim architect named Mohammed Khan. Albert Kahn (note spelling) was a German-American architect who designed buildings for the U of Michigan and for the Packard and Ford Motor companies. Louis Kahn was an Estonian-American architect whose many works include the Exeter Academy Library, the Salk Institute for Bio Studies, and the National Assembly Building in Bengla Desh. Both of the latter Kahns were Jewish.

Debbie, your generalizations of Muslims are going to drive some nut to kill people. Wait…it did..

Father O'Laughly on August 10, 2011 at 6:10 pm

    Hey Father:

Worry about yourself, and not Debbie. Keep your hand away from the little boys.

Now, turning to Marie Claire, the morons who wrote and published this article should realize that if the Muzzies took over, their magazine would be one of the first ones that would be closed, and the whorish clothes they promote would be banned.

I suspect that much of the media producing these moronic articles are supported by Arab dollars.

Jonathan Grant on August 10, 2011 at 7:17 pm

“the morons who wrote and publish this article should realize that if the Muzzies took over, their magazine would be one of the first ones that would be closed,”

Got that right Jon, godforbid if sharia law emerge in this country, Claire Marie, O Magazine, Parade Magazine, and other chick magazines and fashion magazines would be put out of business for good. Because the islamist consider that “impure” and “uncomfortable”!

To be honest with you, I would rather live in a country where chick magazines and fashion magazines exist and is in business, than live in a country where they have sharia theocractic law or any country in the world that has theocractic law from any religion.

Some Imam’s generalizations of Americans and Jews are going to drive some Muslim nuts to kill people…again…maybe this time they’ll kill someone you care about…I doubt it, you strike me as the person that really doesn’t care about anyone.

Oh, and one more thing, Father O’Lackluster. The guy in Norway mostly eliminated a bunch of anti-Semitic, anti-Israeli cretins. I, for one, will not shed a tear at the destruction of our enemies.

Jonathan Grant on August 10, 2011 at 7:18 pm

“Debbie, your generalizations of Muslims are going to drive some nut to kill people. Wait…it did”

Um, stupid, where did DS ever write an article on this blog that people should “go out and kill muslims”? Fact is is that she NEVER wrote anything hateful and violent like that, if she wrote something like that, she would’ve been arrested for inciting violence (and she NEVER incited violence on this blog or on any talk show that she was invited on in the past). So you owe Ms. Schlussel an apology for you’re comment bro, but I’m not going to hold my breath and wait for an apology coming from you Father O’Laughly. You’re just a typical troll of doing a “hit-and-run” and vanish into the dark and never to be heard from or seen again!

American liberal women can, for the most part, be described as the typical viewer or audience member of “The View.” Vapid, without a critical thought in their empty heads, and devoid of any sense of right or wrong. Guided purely by emotion, they are a pathetic creature to behold.

JeffT on August 10, 2011 at 7:54 pm

So you think it’s only “liberal” women who are guided by emotion rather than reason? Wake up, champ. ALL women are guided by emotion. If you really want to see vapid and vindictive, nobody’s got anything on culture-war church ladies.

Seek on August 11, 2011 at 11:08 am

Yeah, Marie Claire is such a hypocritical piece of trash magazine. It’s so pretentious and tries to stand above the rest of the rags just because they portray themselves as a rag that actually caaaaaaaaaaares and has a global outlook. Bullsh! They are VERY left-wing and as DS has keenly noted, VERY Moooooslim-centric. It IS Barf-able!

With that said, I actually give the un-realized tampon known as “Cosmopolitan” more credit than holier-than-thou “Marie Claire”. They know from the get-go that skanky chicks are too self-centered and dumb to be worldly. They know it’s all about the “va-jay-jay”. (They are so disgusting!)

Yep, DS summed up the chick magazines. That is what the feminist movement must have worked so hard for. A NEW kinda Skank. Meet the new Skank. Same (but more bold) as the old Skank.

And I assume Amy Waldman is Jewish. It is starting to get to me how pandering some Jews are to Mooooslims. I’m perplexed, really, because they are at the front of the firing line. We ALL are in the firing line, but I would hope the Jews would know that the Moooooslims hate them the most.

I was thinking of legally setting up a small self-protest at my local “Whole Foods” to protest (and enlighten about) the Palestinian pandering. Especially since my town is a VERY Jewish town. Then I realized that the people who would get all up in my grill if I DO do so would be Jews. I am tempted, but really, I don’t think I could handle the irony.

Skunky on August 10, 2011 at 9:43 pm

Unfortunately, most of my fellow tribesman follow the religion of liberalism/secularism and not Judaism, so their “religion” tells them to believe these crazy things. Don’t judge Judaism by the Jews.

David on August 11, 2011 at 12:01 pm

No worries David. As a regular here, it is clear that I certainly don’t judge Judaism that way and revere it very much (I would convert if I could…and to orthodox if possible).

Otherwise, I was stating a fact. If I were to protest, the fact is that many Liberal Jews would take umbrage and get all up in my grill. And the truth is I can’t handle that irony right now.

Skunky on August 11, 2011 at 10:01 pm

Excellent post, Debbie and excellent comments from all those that agree with Debbie’s post. I just have one minor quibble–no one has mentioned the word “airheads” to describe both Marie Claire generally, and especially Amy Waldman in particular. Don’t worry though, I’m about to correct this:

Marie Claire generally and especially Amy Waldman in particular are airheads.

JeffE on August 10, 2011 at 10:10 pm

Yah, either you favor sharia-sedition or you are an “islamophobe.”

Once again, until very recently “Muhammadanism” was used to describe the enemy cult. The enemy pushed “islam” because they spew fictions of “Abraham the hanif” being the real founder, hence, reference to the 6th century pedophile wouldn’t be accurate. If you use the term “islam,” you are accepting this: a “book” (kitab) was delivered by the “allah” entity to Abraham for use by the “people of the book” (ahl-kitab), but distorted by “satan.” Hence, only an imam may touch a Bible, for apologist use alone. Bruce Chilton, Jimmah Carter, GWB, and other useful idiots, claim to embrace some non-existent “brotherhood of Abraham.” Self-loathers take no interest in enemy dogma that Abraham was not a Chaldean Jew, but of the unknown “hanif” tribe. Abraham-as-non-Jew is even taught in arab-cult schools in Israel.

“Islam” is in such wide use that one would be marginalized, if other terms were used. “Muslim” is of Sanskrit origin, as is “arab.” Our ancestors were correct in both using “muhammadanism” and in treating that enemy as a mortal threat.

Ironically, if the Marie Claire people dressed like the woman on the front cover, they would be stoned to death.

Rocky Lore on August 11, 2011 at 4:32 am

Amy Waldman and the writer of the Marie Claire review should be air-dropped into Iran or Saudi Arabia, and then they can explain their enlightened and tolerant views to the people on the ground, while the rest of us place bets on how long their heads stay attached to their bodies. It will be fun and potentially profitable.

Debbie,

there was an open contest to design the 911 Memorial. It drew 5,201 submissions.

Judging a book by its cover and than posting an ignorant blog entry is only going to alienate you from those who might agree with your opinion(s). Pointing out that using a national tragedy to further a political agenda is exploitative, and that the premise sounds very boring would be a much stronger, and valid critique.

I like Ike! on August 16, 2011 at 2:45 pm

Debbie, I have been a longtime follower of your blog. I am deeply pro-Israel and strongly anti-Islamofascism. However, I have to respectfully disagree here. The premise of this book does not sound particularly pro-Islam; to me, it sounds like an interesting “what if” fictional story about the media’s perception of Muslims. Remember, fiction is fiction. And if we begin to shoot down each and every book that so much as portrays one Muslim character as sympathetic, then we may actually become the bigots that they so wrongly accuse us of being. I won’t read drivel about the plight of the “noble suicide bomber” who was “driven to die due to being persecuted by (us) Zionist occupiers” – obviously, some fiction can be straight-up propaganda/trash. But you can’t kick every book with a Muslim character to the curb. My advice would be to actually read it and then form a judgement.
