Even late night TV comics have noted the inappropriateness of showing kids this ad before “Harry Potter” at the movies.

Is that real? Mind-boggling the social and moral decay of our once-great Country.

At the theater I went to, they did not show this ad before ‘Harry Potter’.

The nature of “the product” isn’t really that big of a deal. As a kid in the early 70s, I recall frequently seeing television ads like this in the middle of programs like “The Brady Bunch” and “Nanny And The Professor”

To me, it’s not so much the content, but the fact that public movie theaters are bombarding audiences with ads for ANYTHING other than upcoming attractions, and what’s available at the concession stand. It used to be that one of the main reasons for paying to see a movie in a theater instead of waiting for it to appear on TV, was to avoid all the annoying commercials. Alas, those days are long gone.

And yet another reason why I don’t go to the movies anymore. It’s been 3 years, don’t miss it, and it’s things like this ad here that are part of the reasons why.

Well, at least the Jimmy Kimmel clip shows that the kids who were interviewed on the street after being shown the “V” commercial are a lot wiser than the so-called adults who created and “strategically” placed the commercial before Harry Potter. So maybe there’s hope for civilization, after all.
