I love watching the boobs at Al-Jazeera with a British Accent a/k/a BBC screw up. And this one is especially hilarious. You gotta watch the whole video. I could watch this over and over.
The Boobs at the Beeb apparently do this on TV quite a bit – bonus video (not as funny):
In that first video, it could be that the BBC guy is just staring at a big green screen, pretending like he can actually see the guy he’s talking to. If that’s the case, and how things are done in the UK, then it’s only a matter of time before somebody is going to say something like “We’re talking with the American Secretary Of Defense…” and then proceed to ask questions while unknown to him, Big Bird is on screen. When something like that finally happens, it just might replace the “Dramatic Prairie Dog” as the most watched YouTube clip of all time.

It’s not something that happens all the time, so we tend to greet it with cheers and general amusement when it does. It does happen often enough to be parodied in comedy shows, though. 😀

I personally like the ones where Howard Stern’s operatives call in on CNN etc shows claiming to be some big shot and once given the chance to talk…Howard Stern would ask embarrassing question or make embarrassing statements on air.

Seriously, what incentive do they have to get it right? The BBC gets a guaranteed flow of income from the television tax even from those who loathe the Beeb. And if you’ve got a complaint about its news coverage, well, they could care less.
Melanie Phillips has a piece about the UK media relishing the hits taken by News Corp given its alleged “influence”, while ignoring the even greater influence of the BBC. (Ah, but it’s the “right” kind of influence (which happens to be “left”.)
