This is disgusting. It is hard to believe anyone would do this to their child.

While I agree 100% with the sentiment behind these posts, I feel like I have to take issue with the tone and a few statements.

This is not how “Muslims” behave. These are terrorists and their supporters distorting Islam. I want to make sure that we do not write off all Muslims as such. They aren’t, and failing to make the distinction makes it more difficult to partner with Muslims who DO practice Islam as a religion of peace.

Jews and supporters of Israel are not against a religion–we have the right to protect our country. Let’s make sure not to into the kind of blind nonsensical rhetoric the violent extremists use.

I am a firm supporter of Israel, and I am not advocating it change any of its policies at this juncture.

I too would like to hear more moderate Muslim voices; there are some, and they should attempt to make themselves more visible. Though when we launch into “blind, hateful rhetoric”–I’ll stick with my original assertion, thank you–it is harder, and there is less incentive, to speak out.(Improving relations between communities is certainly one reason to vocally condemn anti-Israel behavior and speech, so why would you expect people to join your voices when you call them “muzzies” and refuse to see them as human?)

All I am saying is that most Muslims–certainly none that I have worked with or am friends with–do not want their children to be suicide bombers, and they should not be grouped in with terrorists.

These photos are appalling, and the people who do these things are despicable. We should stop them at all costs, but we should be clear about who they are.

And for the record, my name is Lindsey Blank, so I am not sure what the quotation marks are about.

@skzion, you wouldn’t make a good imam, would you now, given that you absolutely don’t know what you’re talking about. Muslims are not commanded to lie about anything; in fact, in Islam, there is no differentiation between an outright lie and a “white” lie. All liars will be punished through hell. So I’m not really sure where you came up with that assertion.

Furthermore, although some of you are claiming that the Koran may be the undoing of Islam, wow, you guys really haven’t read it, have you? I still fail to notice anything wrong with it, and non-believers who read it often interpret it in a way that changes its meaning entirely. Next time (if you read it), try to notice the miracles in it rather than be on the lookout for anything that might paint it in a negative light. We all know the dangers of confirmation bias: it prevents us from finding the truth.

As for the whole bit about Muslims being “unsavory”, I urge you look no further than this blog to see the extent in which human hearts can be so full of wicked hate.

Big Irish, again, I advise you to read it with eyes that have not been painted by hate and bias. If you open your eyes and do some research, you would discover that the Koran holds several scientific assertions that have been proven true using right equipment. So in that regard, I would definitely call Islam a miracle.

But Al-Tirmidhi says, “The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “Lying is not permitted except in three cases: a man speaking to his wife to make her happy; lying in times of war; and lying in order to reconcile between people.”

In other words, MS is, well, LYING. In fact, Mo regularly counselled deception, and as Islam is in perpetual war with the infidel (the Dar al-Harb), deception was used offensively as a matter of course. (I could quote from Bukhari on this if I wanted to bother.)

I’m a psychologist and fur moral and ethical reasons. I urge the majority of you to educate yourselves by speaking to muslims via the internet such as facebook groups. Many of you judge only what you see by the media. Media fights for ratings and only the biggest ratings get aired. Logically not any majority of people are extremists.
