To Those Opposed to the Ground Zero Mosque

By Debbie Schlussel

For about a week, I’ve been getting e-mails from people asking why I haven’t commented on the Muslims building a mosque at Ground Zero, right near the former home of the World Trade Center.  They bought the site of an empty Burlington Coat Factory and will spend over $100 million to build their shrine to the moongod cult.  It’s ironic that the store is closed because Americans and New Yorkers didn’t see to it that business was quickly rebuilt and bustling at the site of the 9/11 attacks.  But the business of Islam has been chugging along the whole time with a lot of help from crappy people on both the left AND the right who still refuse to condemn Islam, but just “a few radicals” and “Islamists,” a phony and dishonest word. Ditto for “radical Islam,” a redundant phrase.  They keep telling us the BS they know is fertilizer:  that “most Muslims” are against terrorism.  Among them are not just Muslims and lefties but Sean Vannity, Sarah Palin, Daniel Pipes, Bill O’Reilly, etc.  If you support or listen to any of these people, you are part of the problem of the Ground Zero mosque and have no right to complain.

islamiccrescent.jpggroundzeromosque

I’ve said nothing about the Ground Zero mosque because even though I don’t like the mosque going up there (or anywhere), I don’t think there’s a case here.  It’s too late, and it’s a waste of time to whine about it.  And we brought ourselves to this point.  We need to pick causes and battles where we will actually be victorious.  Many of those opposing the Ground Zero mosque were part of the problem b/c they did nothing for 8 of the last 9 years, since a Republican was their President.  Again, they miss him and fawn over false memories of safety and security that brought us here.  I don’t miss him yet . . . or ever.  The time to stop barbarians was before they were at the gate.  Not once they were inside of it and held the deed.  The people who did nothing for almost a decade are now circulating petitions against the mosque.   Will they teach jihad at the mosque? Of course. That’s what they teach at every mosque and Islamic school in America, none of which these people did anything to stop. Now, it’s a waste of time.  Will do nothing to stop it. If you are against mosques at Ground Zero, you should be against them everywhere in America, as I am, and against Muslim immigration to America. So where have you been on that for the last 9 years, during most of which Bush was Prez?

For eight years, we had a President–who claimed to be the counterterrorism Prez–who did nothing to stop Muslim immigration to the U.S.  He, in fact, increased it through visa lotteries for underrepresented (read: Muslim) countries, through quadrupling the number of Muslim student visas, and through handcuffing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and largely keep them from arresting Muslim illegal aliens.  Now, we have a President, who is continuing those policies, because he said he would.  He’s kept his word.

Yes, I blame Bush and not Obama because Obama said he supported these groups and that he would do these things.  Bush, on the other hand, said we were fighting the terrorists over there “so we wouldn’t have to fight them over here,” while he was kissing their asses over here and promoting them with your tax dollars every step of the way.  He paved the way for them, when he had the mandate to deport them or at least stem their invasion into America.  He didn’t.  Instead, he (not Obama) set up–within his own Justice Department–a special civil rights unit to go after every American expressing his/her free speech about Muslims, and refused to prosecute, for instance, a Muslim woman who made repeated death, rape, and torture threats against me and my family members.

So, now, those Muslims are here in bigger and more influential numbers than ever because for 8 years these conservative citizens saw no reason to set up Tea Parties against a Republican President who expanded the Islamic presence and power in America and pandered to it.  They’re suddenly only upset now that Obama is in office . . . when it is toooo late.   Yes, they are the same types that fall in the Tea Party movement.  And I ask them:  where the heck were you for the last 9 years?  Huh? You have a problem with selectivity in battle-picking.  Boycotting Muslim-owned businesses, opposing Muslim obstacles to free speech–those are effective.  This faux-protest won’t be.

Now they pick a battle they will not win, but is a cleverly designed PR vehicle for people like car loan fraud scammer Scamela Geller and others who are using them to raise money and get attention.  Because having a whole car dealership making gazillions by ripping off banks with car loan scams using Muslim straw buyers wasn’t enough.  Nor was the murder of an investigating cop and the execution of the one honest car salesman employee who told police.  Behavior worse than a mobster’s wife apparently breeds no shame.  But it does breed faux-outrage in a “battle” that we already know won’t be won.  It’s already lost.  They have the property.  Move on to something we can win, not a car loan defrauder’s attention-whore trick, just weeks before her book is about to be released and needs to earn back a bloated advance.  If you think it’s anything other than this, you are a malleable tool, easily manipulated and not of much substance.

The only way you can stop a mosque is if it violates zoning laws, will be a disturbance/extreme nuisance, or if it is somehow funded with terrorist money you can get the government to freeze, etc.  Good luck with that.  I was involved with citizens of a local Michigan township, trying to help them keep a mosque from expanding a residential lot into a giant parking lot.  And while they won, it was tough.  In Warren, Michigan, for example, a mosque had the Bush Justice Department as its guardian and Bush’s U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III a/k/a “Abu Porno” (now a Bush federal judge and a big liberal), breathing down the neck of Warren, threatening City Council members with civil rights lawsuits if they didn’t acquiesce to the mosque.

The Muslims and their mosque at Ground Zero are no different.  I don’t like them or that they are there, and it is certainly an in-your-face nose-thumbing at America.  But, hey, this is the same America that still doesn’t have the courage to rebuild the Towers in our own F-You to them.  This is the America that won’t even call it Freedom Towers because we might offend Islamic terrorists.  This is the same America that welcomed more and more of them here for the last 9 years, even after a huge terrorist attack they fomented, and more that they tried to commit (some successfully, like the Fort Hood massacre).  If you’re not gonna stop them from entering the nation, you can’t stop them from buying property and opening mosques.

There are no legitimate legal grounds that will succeed in stopping the Ground Zero mosque people.  They paid big bucks to real estate charlatans in a bad economy to buy the land near the site of the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks on America.  And they legitimately have the land.  We did nothing for the last 9 years to stop them from coming here and becoming citizens.  Now, we are going to tell them we let them in but that they don’t have the same rights as everybody else?  Good luck with that.  It’s a losing argument.  The ACLU and others will make sure of that–just as Bush’s Justice Department did it right after Muslims murdered 3,000 Americans.

Pick your battles wisely.  You will not win all of them and may lose the war because you had the wrong focus.  This is the wrong focus.   And it won’t be stopped, despite what publicity hounds with unchecked egos may tell you.

And as anyone who actually knows something about Islam can tell you, the more you lose battles to Muslims, the more empowered they become.  Just ask HAMAS and Hezbollah after Israel attacked them in wars they knew they would not win and had no intention of winning because they refused to flatten their opponents.  We can’t flatten the Muslims who are here.

The cancer has spread and metastasized.  We can only slow it down by fighting things we know we can stop.  But opposing the Ground Zero mosque is the equivalent of Suzanne Sommers’ medical quackery.

It won’t work.  And it’s a waste of resources . . . unless you have a book and website to pimp on the gullible.

Pamela Geller… Debbie doesn’t think highly of her. No link to her site, please. You want to look up, Google it!

And yes, the attention paid to the Ground Zero mosque faux protest will go nowhere.

Actually go into Debbie’s archives, she’s the one who posted on this subject a month or so ago. Googling PG and used car scam would be the fast way to Debbie’s post I guess.

Awesome post, Debbie. You really put the 9-11 mosque controversy in perspective.

DS_ROCKS! on May 13, 2010 at 4:51 pm

I disagree with Schlussel’s politics (and this site) 99.99% of the time, but I’ll give her this one. The uproar of this is just BS from the beginning. A near decade of bureaucratic and political battles in Lower Manhattan led to this. If anything, this Mosque being built near the new WTC reminds me of “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer”. This could be a good opportunity to keep religious A-hole fanatics under tough scrutiny, or it could be like opening a new Boy Scout chapter in the Vatican.

Dr. Claw on May 16, 2010 at 1:25 am

Bull. That mosque should NEVER be allowed to go up near ground zero. However I’m not one of those hypocrites since I oppose mosques anywhere in America and I am for ending muslim immigration.

Debbie I live in Toronto but part of my heart is in New York and I am pulling out what little hair I have left over this vile mosque – how can we be so stupid!!!!!!…this has to stop – this cannot happen and I pray to God something is done soon…when will people wake up and realize islam is not a religion but a vile, disgusting, hate-filled pile of garbage whose only goal is destroy us – western society – and they will not stop until they do so…God have mercy on us.

BigIrish on May 13, 2010 at 5:33 pm

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/05/07/new.york.ground.zero.mosque/index.html

Of the 3,000 Americans who died on 9/11, 10%– that’s 300– were Muslim. They weren’t suicide bombers or extremists. They were Americans who showed up at work that morning.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/09/nyregion/09mosque.html

The Imam who supports this Mosque is Sufi, and has built a career on teaching tolerance. The “new mosque” is a reasonable plan to expand the overflow prayer space that currently exists inside the Burlington Coat Factory.

From the New York Times: Those who have worked with him say if anyone could pull off what many regard to be a delicate project, it would be Imam Feisal, whom they described as having built a career preaching tolerance and interfaith understanding.

“He subscribes to my credo: ‘Live and let live,’ ” said Rabbi Arthur Schneier, spiritual leader of Park East Synagogue on East 67th Street.

As a Sufi, Imam Feisal follows a path of Islam focused more on spiritual wisdom than on strict ritual, and as a bridge builder, he is sometimes focused more on cultivating relations with those outside his faith than within it.

But though the imam is adamant about what his intentions for the site are, there is anxiety among those involved or familiar with the project that it could very well become a target for anti-Muslim attacks.

Joan Brown Campbell, director of the department of religion at the Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York and former general secretary of the National Council of Churches of Christ U.S.A., who is a supporter of Imam Feisal, acknowledged the possibility of a backlash from those opposed to a Muslim presence at ground zero.

But, she added: “Building so close is owning the tragedy. It’s a way of saying: ‘This is something done by people who call themselves Muslims. We want to be here to repair the breach, as the Bible says.’ ”

And Debbie, if a Rabbi condones this Imam, and this project, doesn’t that automatically mean you have to agree with him?

You know, because you’ve basically implied all followers of a religion– Jewish or Muslim– HAVE to think alike?

If you disagree with the Rabbi– then I guess it’s plausible that some Muslims also disagree with each other. Particularly those peaceful Muslims who disagree with the radical extremists doing their religion a disservice. Afraid of an orange on the Sader plate, Debbie?

It’s this kind of baseless hate-mongering and panic-starting that causes the really senseless deaths of hardworking people who are an asset to this country, like Balbir Singh Sodhi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balbir_Singh_Sodhi). He was among the first killed in hate crimes during the backlash following 9/11– he was a Punjabi Indian-American, mistaken for “Arab” by some idiot who thought his traditional, DISTINCTIVELY Sikh turban and beard meant he was a terrorist “raghead.”

Your intentional spreading of misinformation is going to cause unneeded anguish, Debbie. That should be criminalized– not the effort to rebuild a community. Peace and good intentions are never tasteless.

A: Schneier is a liberal piece of crap who loves the Jews’ enemies. I’d prefer Satan as my rabbi to him. DS

Could you stop the taqqiya for a second at least? You have won your victory. Do not expect others to celebrate it.

    >>> Of the 3,000 Americans who died on 9/11, 10%– that’s 300– were Muslim.

    B.S.

muslims are 1%, tops, of the US population. Thank G-d.
If they were killed with an equal distribution as non-muslims as would be expected, 30 should have died. Your order-of-magnitude greater 300 doesn’t pass the laugh test.

Here’s the list of the dead: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,62151,00.html

Extract the 300 muslims you claim and print here.

Even a cursory search of the most common name ‘mo/muhammed’ with variations returns only a grand total of 6 hits. aisha returns exactly one hit. Those distributions are completely in line with the 1% – 30 number, not the outrageously inflated 300.

    Infidel613 on May 13, 2010 at 6:31 pm

Why would you expect an equal distribution? No one is claiming the World Trade Center was a perfect microcosm of America, with a statistically accurate sample of the US population. And you’ll be shocked to hear this, but NOT ALL muslims are named Mohammad – some have American names. Also, I know I’m about to blow your mind, but – not all Mexicans are named Jose or Jesus, not all black women are named Laquisha, and not all white men are named John or George.

hellcat on May 17, 2010 at 10:22 am

Anuja, and your point about there having been some 300 Muslims killed in the 9-11 attack is? Do you not read how Muslims ROUTINELY kill other Muslims by the score in in Iraq? The fact that Muslims died in the the WTC attack weakens — rather than strengthens — your point. Muslims kill people. That is what they do. Not RADICAL Muslims, just observant, Qur’an-/Sharia-observant Muslims. To them, waging jihad proves their faith –if their jihad ends up killing a few — or even a few hundred — unobservant Muslims, c’est la vie.

    man_in_tx on May 14, 2010 at 10:47 pm

Anuja, you lying monster. There were just 42 Muslims on those flights, or amongst the dead of 9/11, not 300, and we know what 19 of them did. So less of your taqiyya-spewing.

No mosque near a “tragic terrorist site?”

How about the English school that was built in Hiroshima?

http://www.hiroshima-is.ac.jp/

Or the “International Peace Museum” in Hiroshima?

Many more people died in Hiroshima than at the WTC. And while both were tragic, America is held back by people who only want to mourn or avenge the past, rather than focusing on improving the future. Yes, the latter takes bravery; I’m sorry that so many of you are cowards.

A: Bombing Hiroshima ended a war and ultimately saved thousands of lives into the future. 9/11 further escalated a centuries-long war and murdered thousands. DS

Anuja on May 13, 2010 at 5:55 pm

Now, what did the Japanese Empire do to bring that all about? Would you like to spout your drivel in Vietnam, or perhaps China. I think you would get a very cold reception, if you were lucky.

    Worry01 on May 13, 2010 at 6:36 pm

Do you think the American people would have been okay with the erection of a huge Shinto Temple at Pearl Harbor? Before the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, we fought a horrific war in the Pacific, against the Japanese who were screwed up by the very same warped thought process as the muslims. The former war ended whilst the latter is on going every day in every corner of the world. WE CANNOT FORGET, nor should we. These scum are out to kill and/or enslave us so why the hell should we?

Joe,
Racism? Tell me what race a muslim is? Intolerance? Prior to Sept 11, 2001 (the events of that day ripped my heart out and I spent the ensuing six months in a deep depression) I had very little knowledge of islam or muslims. That day changed everything and I went on a personal quest to inform myself about this every day and I can tell what I found out is not pretty. I suggest instead of sitting around singing kumbaya, you might want to smarten yourself up, it may very well be a matter of life or death.

Davida on May 13, 2010 at 6:57 pm

I did the same thing. I discovered Muslims cause chaos, then murdered, maimed, every where they lived. They will not stop. They do not believe in live and let live. It must be their way. No Jews, Cathoics, Christians, only Muslims.

Debbie, You’re absolutely correct. The barbarians are no longer at the gate; they’re in our neighborhoods and shopping malls and schools and government and writing on this post.

But, try to tell it to ordinary Americans who have no understanding of Islam’s centuries-old assault on the West;try to tell it ordinary Americans who are more concerned about being called racist than they are about their own safety; try to tell it to deluded Leftists with their stupid, puerile and idiotic “COEXIST” bumper stickers. You may as well be talking to the wall.

We are committing national and cultural suicide and the Leftists and the majority of Americans who are either too stupid or too lazy or incapable of facing the truth are lacing the national tea with arsenic.

Even worse though than Kumbaya Liberals and stupid Republicans are creeps like anuja who pervert history yet call others liars. I am an Asian history and Japanese language scholar with advanced degrees in both fields currently travelling in Japan and Korea. I am intimately familiar with the Japanese people and the establishment of the schools and memorials to which he alludes. Conflating a vile abomination like the Ground Zero mosque, an insult to all Americans and indeed, all freedom-loving people with the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima is obscene. His statements are flat-out lies. He is an enemy of America and should be treated as such.

Kudos though to the Northville Twp. people. That abomination on Eight Mile is less than 1 mile from my home.

BigIrish on May 13, 2010 at 10:06 pm

Ground Zero mosque imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has blamed the West, rather than Islamic jihadists, for terrorism on several occasions. He has said, according to Australia’s Sun-Herald, that “the U.S. and the West must acknowledge the harm they have done to Muslims before terrorism can end.” On another occasion he said that “Western active involvement in shaping the internal affairs of Islamic societies have contributed to the creation of terrorism done in the name of Islam.”

So much for this lying, taqiyya-spewing “spiritual leader,” Feisal, advocating tolerance and interfaith understanding. Being a sufi, by the way, does not, and never did, mean that one cannot be a practitioner or advocate of offensive, full-scale Islamic holy war. Many sufis were supporters of qitaal (full scale war to spread Islam by force). Google al-Ghazali (1058-1111), renowned jurist and sufi – see for yourself.
Our friend Anuja is just another mendacious Muslim running interference for another mendacious Muslim. (Mendacious Muslim: a redundancy, analogous to “radical Islam.”)

Tom, do something in your community. If something comes up in your city, attend a city council meeting. When some nonsense is put forward by a school district, attend a school board meeting. If people had done that sort of thing early on, rather than now, that mosque would not be going in. It is up to you. Crying on a blog about people having balls might make you feel better, but it does not get the job done. The lazy do not inherit the earth:)

    Worry01 on May 14, 2010 at 4:03 am

No, she is quite correct. The effort to prevent that mosque from being located in that building is too little too late. If you wish to engage in pointless activities that waste resources and time, that is up to you. Do not be under any illusion that it will have any impact other than making you and a few other people feel better about themselves. Debbie is making the point that there are areas that have not already been lost, and that it would be best to work on those. For example, if a school district tries to impose and Islamist cultural even on unsuspecting students using taxpayer money, that would be a legitimate and potentially successful battle to engage in. Fighting battles that are already over is not a constructive use of one’s time. It is like playing fantasy football.

Worry01 on May 14, 2010 at 3:56 am

Debbie

I agree w/ you. In terms of a public relations exercise, it might work to get people outraged over this, but now that all these Mohammedans are in – the fault of which lies w/ both Bush & Obama – it’s worthless to think that this effort can be legally stopped.

The best ‘anti-mosque’ effort might be to establish an anti-Muslim center somewhere next to the mosque, and have all sorts of anti-Muslim activity running there, such as loudspeaker denunciations of Muslims, anti-Pali/Pak/Hizbo/Arab… music, speeches, publication & distribution of anti-Muslim literature, in short everything that is in your face to the attendees of that mosque, and makes Muslims distinctly uncomfortable about being anywhere near there. If that happens, the Mohammedans would feel compelled to shut that down, and move to a less hostile neighborhood.

On the subject of there being mosques anywhere, mosques have to be re-classified as enemy barracks where Mohammedans are trained for jihad against the rest of us. Of course, if the sentiments existed for that to happen, they would also exist for the mass deportation of Muslims to their countries of origin, and in case of US converts or 2nd or more generation Mohammedans, deport them to Mecca, or imprison them – their choice.

I boycott Muslim businesses and Muslim products, whether it’s a made in Malaysia label, food that has ‘Halal’ stamped on it (since I’m a gentile, I freely buy pork, where I’m guaranteed that it’s not touched by Muslims) and any packet from a company w/ ‘al’ as part of the name.

This mosque is a vomitous, buldging tumor of the Islam cancer that is trying to kill the United States of America. That said, I read here and elsewhere wherein moslem/muslim one after another line up to whine that Islam isn’t about violence, etc – and to insist that the terrorists are a tiny fraction – the EXTREME ones. Okay, fine, then why haven’t/aren’t the billions more of the supposed “good ones” outing and turning in the bad eggs? Uh-huh – thought so. this I do know: Jesus came here as a man and died for MY sins – the moslems are repeatedly told to kill FOR their god. I also just learned of the CONVENIENT practice in Islam where it is permitted/one’s duty to LIE, etc even about one’s faith when one may be in danger. Millions of Christians throughout history have died because they would NOT deny the name of Jesus Christ or his lordship of their lives.

Lets’s see – my God gave His son that I might live – payment for man’s fall in the Garden of Eden; and I will die before denying the name of Jesus Christ. Moslems can deny and lie at will. They kill in the name of their god. Nothing is left to say.

But then again I’m really not surprised, you see people the radical islamist have been on this conquest since the 7th century when their prophet Mohammed died (it was in 637), ever since he died, they’ve been on this conquest to convert everyone in the world into islam. But aleast back in those days their wasn’t this thing called “whabbisim”, whabbisim started back in the mid-19 century in the middle east, whabbisim has completely hijacked the religion of islam!

Great blog Debbie. While I’m on the other side of the aisle, politically yes I’m one of them Dems, I agree 1,000% with you on this one.

I never thought I’d read about you bashing someone from within the Republican ranks other than the very easy fodder that is Sarah Palin.

It makes you ponder what will ultimately be built upon the sacred grounds of Tiger Stadium doesn’t it?

Kudos to drew299 for his post. Now we know where the drunken, illiterate sophomores stand on this issue.

Trewsdetroit, I know this is the first time you’ve posted on these sites and I’ve notice that your from the other side (which is ok, I don’t mind hearing the other side myself, I may not agree with everything you folks on left say, but I still believe in freedom of speech)! Trewsdetroit, Debbie is an Independent-Conservative, she’s NOT a Republican nor she’s NOT a Democrat, she goes after those on both sides of the political aisle when their wrong and when their faking it.

I guess I am just drawn to the fight against the mosque.

If some people want to fight that monstrosity-mosque, well I say LET HAVE AT IT!!

If they lose, well, what can I say…AT LEAST THEY TRIED and I cannot fault folks for fighting ANY mosque anywhere…even IF I do not just love ALL the organizers.

SOMETIME the battle is what is important.

But as they say, to each his own.

Sewsalot on May 14, 2010 at 11:06 am

Bush junior made any number of outrageous decisions (not least of which was to proclaim the need for establishing a Palestinian state, along with that “Quartet” business). His expediting Muslim immigrants into the US was another blunder — but I believe it’s due to the political climate. Bush was reacting to the charges of “Racism!” That’s how he countered the charge. (ditto for his continuous mantra of “Islam means Peace!” etc)

The same thing is going on here in Canada. The conservatives won’t touch the issue of limiting immigration — it’s one of those hot potato issues which would be used with a vengeance by the Liberal Party to scream out that all Conservatives are Racists. And up here, of course, we have (per capita) roughly ten times the number of “refugees” accepted as does the US (I have also read that we far, far out pace countries such as Australia, New Zealand, etc.)

J.S. on May 14, 2010 at 11:23 am

Well said and well directed. Bush double spoke about as well as Laura is doing now, tossing out the spin phrases to the crowd, but wheeling and dealing us into senselss “globalism” behind closed doors. The freedom and liberty crowd was indeed largely silent. I believe the first voices of protest grew into what is now called the Tea Party, as much critical of GOP double speak and double do as with the liberals democrats where we know what to expect.

As much as I also dislike pointless posturing, I at least take some solace that the noise is somewhat of a wake up call. I”ll sense real progress however, when that same noise has the patriotic gusto to boycott LA Ca. and similar dens of liberal in your face anti American rhetoric, with govt support. Those are battles we can win, if we fight them.

William Burton on May 14, 2010 at 11:24 am

In following Debbie’s wisdom re: thoughtful boycotting, I just learned that a coffee and pasty place I frequent is part of a chain co-owned by a French Algerian. Are they traditionally Muslim? Forgive my ignorance but I am quickly trying to get up tom speed here. Anyway, it makes me a little concerned as I Googled the name “Bedoucha” and saw some Pan African newsletter which also referred to some people as brothers in Islam, blah blah blah. I know of many Lebonese Catholics but I am wondering about this business now as I don’t think this ownder is Christian. I can’t be sure of course.Maybe back to the less fancy place for me that I know is OK just to be safe.

T: They’re almost certainly Muslim. Almost no French Algerians that are not Muslim. Though a few are Jewish. Why don’t you ask them? DS

Tubby on May 14, 2010 at 11:28 am

The only thing I find surprising is that Obama and Bloomberg havn’t allocated the entire ground zero area to the Muslims. Since nothing has been approved or planned for ground zero it wouldn’t come as a shock if a Mosque were to be built on the site in honor of the peace loving Muslims that blew it up in the first place.
In another ten years the Liberals and Muslim loving apathetic morons in this country will re-write what actually happened, and the terrorists will be re-written as the heros that tried to stop the planes from crashing into the world trade center. Because we all know (snark) the real terrorists were those Christian, Jew, wiccan, militia racists that blew up the Trade Center.

I think of all the conservative blogs Debbie here has the most interesting to read. Those movie reviews hae SAVED me MUCHO money !!

Your infomation informs on many levels. That what we need JUST as MUCH if not more than demonstrations and rallys.

That being said, I love to see the pickets and the signs out there in the mussies’ faces.

I love for them to KNOW that WE WILL NOT JUST SIT BY AND LET YOU RUN US INTO THE GROUND. We got spunk!! We got nerve!!

I DO BOYCOTT THEIR BUSINESS’ AND I DO LOOK AT THE RAG HEADED slave WOMEN LIKE THEY ARE CRAZY! I shake my head at them and frown. I flipped off the mosque in my town as I drove by…LOL.

I put anything from Turkey( or any mussie-land) back on the shelf… I WILL NOT BUY IT! I conserve energy and use a fuel efficient car and truck.

And I buy Israeli products!! I just bought several Sabra Hummus packs yesterday for my vegetarian daughter( not a political statement her beinga veggie-fan… a health issue).

I use Estee Lauder cosmetics, PERIOD! And I donate to the RED STAR OF DAVID reguarly. I even bought a tree for my Step-dad in Israel years ago.

I support you Debbie and as I wrote one time, you are ALWAYS welcome in my camp!!

But, honey… I HAVE to, FIGHT THAT MOSQUE!!

Little St. Nicholas Church WTC has had their land confiscated and the city is making really hard for them to re-build…. so I am sending donations to them too.

So much to do and just so much money and time to get it done.

Love you as always!!

Sewsalot on May 14, 2010 at 11:39 am

Bravo; this is one of Debbie’s finest pieces. I wish everyone could read it, and actually comprehend the threat that the world faces from the Islam.

Slowly but surely the Muslims are winning and their conquest is moving forward. The Muslims comprise around 1% of the USA population, yet they are killing us by death of a thousand cuts; especially economically and politically. So, as the Muslims wage all-out, worldwide, no-rules warfare on non-believers; the USA still hasn’t even figured out who the enemy is, and can make almost any politician say on cue that Islam is a “great peace loving religion”. The Muslims are indeed an organized formidable enemy.

Ace on May 14, 2010 at 1:25 pm

It might seem that the Islamic attack on America is disjointed, disorganized, possibly even amateurish. But Debbie rocks because she has the insight to see through the disguise, to fight her way through the smoke and mirrors and find the truth. And the truth is that the Islamic terrorists are not just at the gate, they are inside our defenses and except for Debbie and maybe a few others there are no alarm bells ringing, no modern day Paul Revere shouting out a warning. The land near Ground Zero, if purchased legally, with clean money, is a done deal. If we wanted to get serious about stopping Islamic terrorist attacks on America we would have started long ago. Obambi isn’t going to do anything to stop Muslim immigration, legal or otherwise, and is certainly not going to condemn acts of murder committed by Muslims in our country. I would suggest to Ms. Schlusses that if she doesn’t already have a permit and is carrying a weapon for self defense she should do so as soon as possible. At the very least hire a bodyguard.

kenny komodo on May 14, 2010 at 2:27 pm

Debbie,

While I agree completely with this article and most of the posts here, I would like to give my perspective on the Bush/Obama/ground zero thing. At least for me, the recent election came as some sort of wake-up call. I’d never before been that interested in politics and even less patriotic about being an American until recently (living abroad as I have been for quite a few years). So while Bush may be to blame, and the battle already over for the mosque in question like you plainly point out, it wasn’t until recently that more people (like me) started paying attention. Thanks again for keeping us all in the loop.

Speaking of immigration matters in Cana-duh…The CBC is reporting on the case of a Sri Lankan fellow — 51 years old. Been in Canada for over 20 years; came in to escape “the war” in Sri Lanka. (I presume that means he was a “refugee”). In 2005 he was alleged to have murdered his roommate — but of course given the Canadian “judicial” system, that charge was reduced. Yeah, in Cana-duh, what’s a little murder, eh? He’s out on parole (having served what? 3 or 4 years at the wine-and-dine at taxpayers’ expense, rehab center?) Then, on parole what does this ex-con do to pass his time? Well, of course, he rapes and tortures a black Labrador retriever. He leaves the dog bleeding in a yard and flees the scene on his bicycle…also leaving behind, of course, his condom. The vet had to euthanize the dog (the dog was too badly injured). Now I’m wondering what this dog rapist is going to get? One day in jail minus 12 hours for good behavior? (The Canadian “justice” system is such a joke, an utter farce — ditto for the “immigration and refugee board” b.s. when we let in every criminal deviant out there.)

J.S. on May 14, 2010 at 4:54 pm

So what you’re saying is that all Muslims advocate terrorism. Did I read that right? Did you honestly just say that. I know some Muslims and they are some of the nicest people I know.

Peter S. on May 14, 2010 at 5:12 pm

I do understand how you can say that- from my personal experience. But sadly, the “niceness” is only until the call comes…. This is a very, very different way of being a human being. I think it is important to respect people for what they truly are and not what one might hope they are.
I say this with all kindness. It took courage to learn about others and accept the reality.

    Cat K on May 14, 2010 at 6:50 pm

To Peter S. I would like you to visit the Middle East with your “nicest” Muslim acquaintances and then publicly proclaim your belief in Christ — and see if these “nicest” Muslim acquaintances do ANYTHING to protect you from the consequences of your actions. (Remember that Muslims FREELY and PUBLICLY proclaim their faith in Allah in this country without fear of harm or retribution.) In short, you are an idiot, very stupid, or a poseur (or some combination of the three).

    man_in_tx on May 14, 2010 at 10:43 pm

If you publicly proclaim your belief in Christ to people in a Muslim country, then you might make some friends, considering that Christ is a major major prophet in Islam. The only difference is that Muslims don’t accept the divinity of Christ.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_in_Islam

I’m not even sure why I’m trying. I highly doubt that you will take the time to educate yourself before replying with some other half-baked hate. At the very least consider the importance of knowing your “enemy”, and maybe along the way, you can do something about that ignorance. Pretty much every one else here too, but I don’t feel like rebutting so much foolishness.

American and Muslim are not mutually exclusive terms.

Christian on May 17, 2010 at 10:00 pm

Peter S: Many Muslims here in the USA do not, in fact, advocate domestic terrorism, but many, probably most, of those “nice” Muslims have no problem with their co-religionists committing acts of terror in Israel, India/Kashmir, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Beslan, Darfur, Nigeria, and countless other places on the planet where Muslims are attempting to establish hegemony over local non-Muslims. Terrorist activities here in the USA is, to most Muslims, counterproductive because it leads the circumambient non-Muslim majority to become more suspicious of Muslims and their agendas and belief systems. Muslims resident in the USA, for the most part, would prefer to avoid such scrutiny so that they are free to continue increasing their presence, numbers, and influence here. Quiet jihad, in effect, is what most Muslims in America would prefer. I have a suggestion for you. Ask your nice Muslim acquaintances if they believe that Sharia – Allah’s law – should be the law of the land here, replacing our Constitution, either now or at some time in the future. I bet that most of them would admit that they would, or give you some obfuscatory response. I would be surprised if more than a few of them would reply with an unequivocal “No way in hell!” If you do not realize what the ramifications would be for you, and for the rest of us non-Muslims, to live under Sharia, I urge you to google same, and reflect carefully on what you find.

commonsense on May 14, 2010 at 7:51 pm

Ms Schlussel is 100% right in this post regarding the despicable pro-Muslim pandering and manipulating that was ACTIVELY, KNOWINGLY, and CLEVERLY carried out by the pathetic George W. Bush Administration. I agree with her: Where were WE (conservatives) for the past nine years when (for most of them) Bush was opening the flood gates for more Muslim immigrants and student visas. I will never forget how upset I was when Bush came for his first big post-911 speech at Ground Zero shortly after the attack and his spineless Director of the FBI (who is still there) — instead of WARNING the Muslims of America to be very afraid — had the gall to WARN US not to be mean to Muslims. Yes: I find Obama unbearable, but, as Ms Schlussel says, he is being true to what he promised. Bush acted like some kind of patriotic Texan, but HELD HANDS WITH THE KING OF SAUDI ARABIA.

Question for the muslim apologist; do Sufis follow the quran and muhammad?

interestin on May 15, 2010 at 10:59 am

Anuja: “Of the 3,000 Americans who died on 9/11, 10%– that’s 300– were Muslim. They weren’t suicide bombers or extremists. They were Americans who showed up at work that morning.”

Anuja, Muslims kill Muslims in other countries, too. Mostly in Iraq and Afghanistan. Muslims who work alongside with kaffirs (non-Muslim people) are expendable so as long as the aims of the jihad for Islam are to be accomplished by any mean.

Bobby's Brain on May 15, 2010 at 11:07 am

Hell, man_in_tx
I knew Bush was not real when an imam was at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance ~ Sept. 14, 2001. I was FLOORED that the enemy was allowed in the place. Can you imagine having Hirohito at Pearl Harbor? Me neither.

interestin on May 15, 2010 at 11:09 am

It should have been obvious to all that Bush’s ties to the Saudi’s and their oil rendered him unable to speak the truth about Islam. I wish a politician would just say the truth. Just one.

Iran marches on, cementing its ties everywhere. And what is Obama worried about? Homes being built in Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem.

It is insane.

JohnH on May 16, 2010 at 5:20 am

Heard a story about a mosque in London that was not built after pigs were let loose and defiled the ground it was to be built on. Why not wait till some Sharia law countries allow churches and synagogues to be built there before building more mosques here. Don’t Muslims need to be as tolerant as we are ? Anyone realize you cannot even bring a copy of a bible into a country under Sharia law ? Hello, wake up out there.

I’m wondering why Miss Oklahoma didn’t publicly state her opposition to Tim McVeigh’s bombing. Does this mean she supports domestic terrorists?

We are most grateful to you and all others who speak out against Islam.

Debbie, I trust you are correct when you state it’s “too late” to stop the mosque being built next to the 9/11 Memorial but Muslims will be empowered if this mosque is built or if opposition stops it. They always win.

Honestly, Killen all and let their God sort it out. Its not one of the oldest Religion. Its one of the oldest Cults. For that matter all religions are Cults. All you need is a higher power, call it God if you would like or Lord who cares. As long as you take only the best from each of the Religions/Cults and make that your God. All said Religions, say that shall not kill. But all of them have killed in their God name. Sick

Bob on May 27, 2010 at 8:28 pm

Debbie,
You are right that PC fears and ignorance have allowed the enemy to infiltrate to this point, and obtain the deed to the property. The building, however, should be declared a landmark because it was directly damaged on 9/11, and was previously slated to be designated so. We must use this battle to draw all those who’ve stood by afraid of offending anyone to the reality of the motives of this Imam and muslims who want to overtake our civilization. We must be seen to fight this loudly and publically, if only to give Americans a rallying cry that may finally wake them up. For if we are seen to give up this battle, and stand by quietly while they plant their flag of conquest over this sacred ground, be absolutely certain this will be used as the primary recruiting tool for generations to come. It will show how the Cordoba House was succesfully placed on the graves of the enemy in the heart of their enemies land. It will symbolize in one crystal image how that enemy can be overcome from within, with a little lying and taqiyya and patience and playing on fears of intolerance. It will be an image for centuries of Mayor Bloomberg dragging the Trojan Horse by his own labor through the gates, to the cheers of the tolerant and understanding masses.
Ms. Schlussel, with all due respect, no greater battle could be picked.

TB on July 22, 2010 at 10:18 pm

I think this battle can be won. A mosque was prevented from going up in a Staten Island neighborhood after the people stood against it.

Laura on July 25, 2010 at 1:53 am

And as far as the notion that since they bought the property they have the right to do what they wish, since the funding sources are illegitimate, likely from terrorist sources, that makes the property an illegitimate purchase.
