French Embassy Upset w/ Schlussel Over Iran

By Debbie Schlussel

Yesterday, I told you about France’s outrageous, but predictable, release of an Iranian arms dealer who was wanted by the U.S.  France refused to extradite the man, Majid Kakavand, despite the fact that he deliberately set up a fake Malaysian company, bought nuclear and electronic components from the U.S., then sent them to his ayatollah comrades in Iran.  Instead, France released the guy to freedom.

France is Way to Sarkozy with Iran

Well, now, apparently, the French Embassy is upset and is asking questions, trying to probe the influence of this site. Today, I got this e-mail from an Arab Muslim intern at the French Embassy (her name is definitely Arabic, apparently North African–from the way her last name is spelled, and I doubt she is anything but Muslim, since there are few French Christian Arabs).

Good Afternoon,

I work as an Inter [sic] at the French Embassy in the Press/Communication Department. I would like to know how many readers you have each day on your blog?

Best Regards

Megda BENTOUT

We have very high traffic numbers, but I’m not giving that proprietary info away to this French Muslim chick and the Frog Embassy. Yes, I confirmed that she is really an intern at the French Embassy, despite the fact that the French Embassy’s press office keeps worse-than-bankers’-hours:  they’re only open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each weekday.

DS_ROCKS! on May 11, 2010 at 2:43 pm

Tell her to get into her “BlackBodyBagBurka” ( now a registered trademark by SEWSALOT) and hop back to the FROG pond and CROAK!!

What nerve when you think of it???

Maybe you should write her and tell her to give you the details on her sex life!

HA!

Sewsalot on May 11, 2010 at 2:44 pm

Since they’re only open 9-noon,she must’ve sent this email on her own time since it went out at 1 pm.

ebayer on May 11, 2010 at 2:46 pm

Seems you hit a nerve. Good.

I would have replied

I have nbcbcvuvcysvysvuy readers. Oops the numbers on my keyboard aren`t working. Sorry.

hermster on May 11, 2010 at 3:08 pm

Tell her that millions visit your blog. Get them shaking in their froggy boots and choking on their croissants. Funny that the croissant is a symbolic celebration of the defeat of the Turks outside Vienna in 1683. It represents the Islamic crescent. Marie Antoinette ordered a Viennese baker to produce a pastry to commemorate the vanquishing of the Turkish hordes. That was the last time the Muslims tried to conquer Europe. But they were stopped by people with cojones and self belief. Ah how times have changed! But just remember what you’re celebrating every time you savour that warm croissant. It makes for a gratifying breakfast.

roger on May 11, 2010 at 3:12 pm

I wonder when the french will build a Statue of Terror for the muslims? They have obviously forgotten that they built a Statue of Liberty. They already have the basic design. All they need to do is put a ninja outfit on her, remove the crown and what she is holding in her hands and replace those items with an IED and the head of someone that was beheaded.

Jarhead on May 11, 2010 at 3:22 pm

you could tell her it’s more than one and less than the population of her country.

BK on May 11, 2010 at 3:33 pm

Careful, Debbie! You know what is coming next…a very nasty note! Oh, the horror!

cirrus1701 on May 11, 2010 at 3:34 pm

What is is the muslim chick doing on a computer. Where does she find the time, what with beatings and getting raped by her husband and or father. You want to ask questions lady, well I have one for you. How can you follow the teachings of a really sick pig bastard like mohammed?

Davida on May 11, 2010 at 3:36 pm

The French are annoyed you’re asking questions. While they’re efficient at springing an Iranian crook to get their citizens released, they can’t handle Debbie Schlussel’s criticism of them.

I hope they keep wasting their time harassing her. Its so enjoyable. And they’re bring her new traffic and visitors she didn’t have before so its actually an honor they’re paying attention to such insignificant little website, that has become far more significant now.

Hey, you can’t get free advertising like that anywhere and its good news indeed!

NormanF on May 11, 2010 at 3:39 pm

I am amazed that there was even such a query. It really demonstrates quite plainly that the French government feels pretty insecure about its decision. Pandering to Islamists should have a cost attached to it.

worry01 on May 11, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Megda BENTOUT, as in bent out of shape? This is perfect. lol

worry01 on May 11, 2010 at 3:58 pm

    Good one!

JeffE on May 11, 2010 at 9:05 pm

Why ask you? Why not Inspector Jacques Clouseau?

Patrick on May 11, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Ace work, Debbie. Had Giscard d’Estaing not put Khomeini on an Air France flight from Paris to Tehran in February, 1979, there may never have been an Islamic revolution in Iran.

adam on May 11, 2010 at 4:17 pm

You could have told her at least 12 bazillion.

jbird on May 11, 2010 at 4:36 pm

Viva le Vichy France! It never left. How thoughtful of the Arabs to make their invasion so much longer and drawn out to give the natives more time to learn the language. I’m sure Arabic rolls off the French tongue faster than German did. French talk of banning the burka is only a step to avoid French women from being deemed collaborators after the Gaolic realize they have been socially engineered out of cultural relevance in their own place of birth. Funny how appeasement never wins but is the only media champion above celebrity appeasement.

FeFe on May 11, 2010 at 4:39 pm

Honestly, I would regard this inquiry as a *joke* and nothing more.

As much as I love France, they really do crack me up sometimes. They complain about America telling people what to do … and then they do the same. It’s a laugh.

AG on May 11, 2010 at 4:44 pm

You can tell the froggy arselifters that you are gaining new readers by the moment, as a direct result of Sarkozy’s suicidal stupidity.

If they’re mad at you, you must be doing something right.

FeeVert on May 11, 2010 at 5:39 pm

Uh, their main concern was how many people read your blog; not too much concern over the substance of what you wrote, an assessment of whether you were right or wrong, just ‘how many people read your blog’?

Little Al on May 11, 2010 at 6:02 pm

Pourquoi est-ce qu’ils ne creusent pas une tombe pour eux-mêmes et ne sautent pas dans elle?

It would save time, if nothing else.

They may be thinking of trying to hack your site down. The more readers one has, the more likely it will get publicized and they may be found out.

P. Aaron on May 11, 2010 at 7:36 pm

Sounds fantastic, are there any jobs going? 😉

Mark on May 11, 2010 at 7:45 pm

Hey, in that picture above, is Ahmadinejad doing the power fist or pinching his thumb and index together to point out the size of
Sarkozy’s balls?……….sooooooooo teeeeeeny

theShadow on May 11, 2010 at 8:43 pm

You should ask Megda Bentout same question &
tell her to check AlexaTrend/Rank about your site.
You are doing a very good job since you bother such personality in diplomacy.
It’s better to read honest critic than political lie

Jacqueline Hanna Youssef on May 11, 2010 at 8:56 pm

Another excellent post, Debbie.

The following is directed at Megda BENTOUT:

Ms. BENOUT, if you are reading this, I’m assuming that at least one reason why you emailed Debbie asking her how many readers she has is because you are upset that Debbie reported that your employer, the French Government had freed Majid Kakavand, even though he violated the trade sanctions against Iran.

I think that instead of you being upset at Debbie for reporting this, you should instead be upset at your employer for having done this. If they hadn’t done this, then Debbie wouldn’t have had to report it.

JeffE on May 11, 2010 at 9:02 pm

She probably wanted to know how many people read your blog so she could figure out if your bullshit was worth addressing. Apparently she has decided that it isn’t, considering the type of people who support you are ignorant and tunnel visioned, so they probably wouldn’t comprehend the truth anyway.

I’m seriously worried people believe the stuff you write.

Sarah on May 11, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Well Sarah, you should include yourself in that group since you seem to be here, and have been here. Also, why would Ms. Bentout continue such activities after Debbie contacted the French Embassy after this email? There would be no need.

    Worry01 on May 12, 2010 at 5:19 pm

@ Sarah at 9:12 pm.

Is that so?

Ms. BENTOUT didn’t say that Debbie’s allegations are false. If I were her–which I’m glad I’m not–I would have said so if that is so.

I am also construing your post to mean that you do agree that if Debbie’s allegations are true, then it would indeed be indefensible on the French government’s part, and that the only issue is whether or not her allegations are true. You may correct me if I am wrong.

JeffE on May 11, 2010 at 9:23 pm

Again @ Sarah at 9:12 pm.

If what Debbie alleges is false, then would you mind explaining these two links?

http://tinyurl.com/2amvn2m

Debbie linked these articles in her original article, which BTW, she links above in her current one.

Cheese-esting surrender monkeys! Good post JeffE.

politicsiswar on May 11, 2010 at 11:59 pm

Arrogant government official butting into peoples business. Its none of her business how many people visit this site.

tyler on May 12, 2010 at 12:44 am

DS has possibly the most integrity of any Michigan news site, second highest traffic numbers for a new site in Detroit, but integrity doesn’t matter to the French anymore.

Lars on May 12, 2010 at 8:38 am

My reply to the French Embassy in French and Arabic would be…Go f—k yourself.

Jerry on May 12, 2010 at 8:46 am

“open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each weekday”

15 hours a week. I believe that qualifies as overtime in France/Obamas future for America.

Nick on May 12, 2010 at 9:08 am

All she asked was how many people visit your site. Stupid on her part – none of her business and makes the French Embassy look petty and small. But it makes you all look just as petty and ridiculous to have published 41 responses on it. It’s like high schoolers gossiping for days over whether or not Stacy said hi to Karen.

hellcat on May 12, 2010 at 9:26 am

Way to go Debbie. I hope there are also many of your blog readers in France. Tell Megda that you have mega readers – that should answer her/his question, that is if she is a she.

mshell on May 12, 2010 at 9:30 am

This is why we love you so! Just keep pounding them with quality news and solid facts and the Frog’s will surrender.

ward on May 12, 2010 at 9:32 am

I call BS.
Not saying I trust the French but this whole thing seems dodgy to me. At best this woman works for the French and is doing this on her own and worst she messing with DS. Either way I call BS.

Pete Bone on May 12, 2010 at 10:28 am

    Bone Meal:

“Yes, I confirmed that she is really an intern at the French Embassy, despite the fact that the French Embassy’s press office keeps worse-than-bankers’-hours: they’re only open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each weekday.”

Government entities do supervise email communications made by their employees, and it is unlikely that Ms. Bentout would have used her employer’s system to send out a BS. message. She could have done that on her own with a webmail address. So, I suspect the only fishiness that you detect comes from the canned sardines you have been eating lately.

    Worry01 on May 12, 2010 at 5:23 pm

Be careful Deb. They may take away Brie and Jerry Lewis moves from you!

Stoker on May 12, 2010 at 10:32 am

Debbie, you should tell Megda that you have 1 Brazillion readers. That should shut up the French Embassy and its Islamo-panderers. *lolz*

Bobby's Brain on May 12, 2010 at 4:40 pm

So the country that is banning women from wearing burkas and veils is surrendering to Islam?

Nak on May 12, 2010 at 9:04 pm

Did you tell her to get OUT and get BENT?

Occam's Tool on March 22, 2011 at 2:38 pm

Debbie,

Listen to this, the French will build a mosquette in the first level of the Eifel tower for Moslems to pray in when they visit the Eifel tower. Howaa. Don’t they understand it will be a post for exploding the tower when it is full of visitors. What happenned to the West. They became so dumb and stupid beyond belief.
