GREAT VIDEO Analysis on Sean Hannity Freedom Alliance/Freedom Concert Scam

By Debbie Schlussel

As you know, my expose on Sean Hannity’s Freedom Alliance charity scam cheating severely wounded troops and the children of the fallen and my follow-up on the Freedom Concert fraud and profits, and how Hannity’s private jet rides were funded resulted in Charity Navigator cutting the charity’s rating in half and reducing its rating to “needs improvement.” It also resulted in FOX News calling Hannity back from the Cincinnati Tea Party and the people running the tea party being forced to post a budget of their spending and costs of the event online. Everything he touches turns to . . . well, the same substance that comes out of his mouth–very rich fertilizer from which nothing grows.

freedomconcerthannity

Sadly, some people don’t get it. Or rather, they do get it, but they want to get on FOX News and so they keep their lips firmly planted on Hannity’s exhaust pipe. And that especially goes for a fraudulent, exaggerated, and flat-out lying, so-called “debunking” of my work, which actually debunked nothing at all. The item was written by a puka-shell-wearing stooge of spineless David Frum, named Tim Mak. (I’m told that the reason Frum did a 180 after initially praising my investigation of Hannity got a call from FOX News people, including Hannity himself, telling him that if he ever wanted to be on FOX News again . . . . I’m also told it was a desperate attempt to keep his job at AEI, which he lost anyway. So sad, too bad.)

I was going to go through and respond to Mak’s phoniness, but why bother when a very smart liberal YouTuber, “Cristoballs,” made some excellent videos (above) about it, responding to Mak and blowing him and his empty claims and lies away–yes, apparently, it takes a liberal these days, since conservatives circle their very shallow wagons around the equally shallow Hannity and won’t tell the truth. Unfortunately, this liberal is much too kind to Lee Doren, who isn’t the brightest bulb or even just slightly dim. Ditto for the empty-headed and dishonest folks at Big Follywood and the rest of the not-so-Bright-bart websites which repeated the false denials as fact.  (Cristoballs finally wakes up to what a dummy and incompetent Doren is in his later videos.)

Mak’s claims and the Freedom Alliance’s empty denials were repeated by an uber-geek named Lee Doren, who has very bizarre and creepy man-crushes on male conservatives for whom he makes lying videos in defense of them against me. He has some sort of weird one-sided obsession with me.  And he’s one of those people we’ve all encountered in life–always a geek who will never be cool, so he tries to be cool by osmosis by sucking up to the guys he perceives as cool and to whom he wants to be close. But he was a little late because I’d already followed-up, exposing who really owns and runs the Freedom Concerts and takes the lions’ share of the money: Hannity and his cronies at Premiere Marketing, Inc.–and that they use Freedom Concert revenue to pay for Hannity’s private jets. And neither he nor puka-shell boy Tim Mak have responded to that with further lies to “bolster” Hannity. As I noted, only Charity Navigator has responded and downgraded Freedom Alliance accordingly.

Doren is yet another substandard character with a law degree biding his time at a tax-deductible non-profit. He works at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and I’m told that contributors to the non-profit organization are wondering why the organization’s in-house lawyer (CORRECTION:  he’s merely an employee there, not competent enough to be a lawyer for even CEI) is spending so much time on non-CEI-related stuff and instead making self-promoting videos and posts on his blog, which defend outright fraud and rip-offs. Doren graduated from my alma mater, the University of Michigan, with the degree universal to the dumb athletes who didn’t deserve to get in and can’t compete academically: communications.  Sadly for him, the degree was especially useless. YouTube’s “Cristoballs” owned him and jolly puka-shell dude.

You have not heard the end of this. I have much more to come on the Sean Hannity, the Freedom Alliance charity scam, and the Freedom Concerts con. Stay tuned.

Well, I agree with the Lee guy on foreign aid…Liberals always wanna feel better than actually DO better, but this is about Scammity…so I appreciate the Liberal guy doing the research and getting to the truth of Scammity.

I’m not shocked by the Conservatives surrounding him (distressed, I am thou’) but I am shocked that the Libs are not even touching this. We’ll see. I don’t listen to Scammity anymore because this makes me sick!

Skunky on April 23, 2010 at 10:33 pm

i actually read through the lancet report, and nowhere in it does it confirm anything about foreign aid hurting the poor people in africa. what doren is actually reciting is what he heard through the grapevine. the lancet report was discussed in a washington post article. that article was cited in a hotair.com post by ed morrissey. morrissey’s article claims that the wapo article suggests corruption caused by foreign aid. once again, this was not mentioned anywhere in the lancet study. but that was enough for doren to run with and claim that report says what it doesn’t say.

It is discouraging to read about the selfishness and clanishness (though unfortunately not surprising( of the prominent conservatives. Many of the ‘conservative’ political candidates are like that also. Rubio is becoming less and less attractive. Already essentially for open borders, there are no credit card scandals that apparently have some truth about them. The prominent ones all seem to be self-promoting opportunists. This is tragic at a time when we really need as many competent conservative leaders as we can get.

Thanks for the update on Gulfstream Vannity/Scammity (and all others involved) ripping off the troops and the public. Growing up in a military family whose dad saw serious action, this really pisses me off. Therefore, Debbie I have a question: This seems highly illegal on the surface, could Vannity/Scammity (and all others involved) be prosecuted criminally under the law or is this just the unethical doings of a common slime-ball who has never had an original thought/analysis in his life while struggling to memorize 3 to 4 talking points to parrot on his 4 hours of self promoting shows?

Soyphobia on April 23, 2010 at 11:30 pm

Hannity, along with the others could be prosecuted for fraud and possible tax evasion. For example, if the profits from the concerts goes to Premiere (Duane Ward)and he takes a percentage of the money and gives it to Hannity, and not report it, or/and covers it up, that’s tax evasion.

Antoinette on April 25, 2010 at 3:15 am

It has become apparent that Sean Hannity’s main interest is living well at the expense of others. You would have to go back to Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker’s PTL Club to see such a level of self-aggrandizement. Bakker and now Hannity, took advantage of well meaning, but unsophisticated people. in order to live lavish lifestyles. Initially, critics of Mr. Bakker were dealt with harshly as being anti-Christian. You can see a similar reaction from Hannity and his defenders to conservative critics. Unfortunately, blind devotion to an individual is not a virtue and will not save them from themselves. Sean Hannity will finally get tripped up in one of his schemes and exit in disgrace or worse. This will leave a bitter taste in the mouths of those who took him at his word, and will cast suspicion on the causes he supported(rightly or wrongly). Do people in the conservative movement really want to validate the liberal critique that conservative leaders are disingenuous and that their followers are sheep? Sean Hannity is someone people should be walking away from quietly, rather than following.

And the Saga continues…
I can’t wait for the next installment. The anticipation is killing me.

I think Hannity needs to answer these allegations with facts.

“I think Hannity needs to answer these allegations with facts.”

Ya, cause scam artists always want to debate with their detractors using facts, logic, and reason in an open and honest forum where there duplicity can be exposed.

Ben Thinkin on April 24, 2010 at 1:58 pm

Great job Debbie. I hate seeing Hannity in this mess and his failure to show character. Conservatives believe all men are fallible, that is why we forgive. I would like to get this over with and get on with the forgiveness part. We can’t do that till he comes clean or the law resolves this because conservatives also believe in the rule of law.

I often wonder why groups defend the awful conduct of their members. When was the last time you saw any caucuses in the legislature chastise their own. They never do.

Hannity has been good for conservatives but that is irrelevant and will only do harm as long as he fails to take responsibility or otherwise resolve this. Mercy comes at the end of the process not before.

Keep at it Deb.

This just further exposes neocons like Hannity and Breitbart. Then again Breitbart said all the buzz regarding Obama/Soetoro’s citizenship is a non-winning issue. BREITBART YOU NEED TO STUDY THE CONSTITUTION BOY!

Bob Porrazzo on April 24, 2010 at 7:13 am

Yipes!?! I meant to say that there ARE credit card scandals about Rubio that appear to be accurate.

Little Al on April 24, 2010 at 8:19 am

To me this scandal is about a cabal of cronies, which is why it is taking longer than it should for the doors to be blown wide open. The cabal is Hannity North and Levin with Kilgannon and Wade in the inner circle. The next ring out protecting these are Fox news names Beck, O’reilly, Geraldo, Stossel, etc and then we have the legion of drone idiot Hannity North Levin supporters.

I’ve told several drones about this scam. They ALL have reacted first with jaw dropping disbelief. They can’t imagine that Hannity Levin North could actually use the blood of American war vets to fund a slush fund.

Look how long it took for the National Enquirer story on John Edwards sick whoremongering to be picked up and taken seriously by the MSM. He was exposed in the thick of the primary season. Yet it took almost a year for the rest of the MSM to run pieces on that POS.

That the story has not gotten the primetime spotlight YET should not used by intelligent people to discredit its validity. When it finally does go primetime we will all Debbie a debt of gratitude for standing fast againt the cabal of cronies while the drones blindly defend their undeserving shmuck heroes and their lucrative mutual admiration society.

Hey Debbie, sweetie, thanks for the information, as you said to me last week that Andrew Breitbart created the far left wing website Huffington Post, etc., Debbie, I watched some of Hannity’s show on Fox last week during the Tea Party protest, and Breitbart pimped endlessly for Hannity. And that’s one of the reasons why I quit posting messages on Breibart, because anytime I post on his website, there’s a little message that says “awaiting moderation”, whoever moderates Andrew Breitbart’s website needs to go back to school and study US History 101, and US Constitution & Bill of Rights 101!

As for Hannity, when I first heard that Mr. Hannity was running a charity for families of dead soldiers and injured soldiers, I thought it was cool, great and I agreed with it, but when Michael Savage mentioned that his charity was a fraud, I was schocked to hear that from Savage, that I almost disagreed with him, but when the SavageNation was over that evening I went onto my computer did some research and guess what, it was a proven fact that Hannity’s charity is a fraud. And people, their are alot of so-called conservatives that are clients at Preimier Speakers, that includes, Beck, Levin, Inghram, North, etc. (probably Limbaugh & O’Reilly?)!

Debbie, you are one of the few Independent-Conservatives (along with Jeff Kuhner & Steve Malzberg) out there that are speaking your mind and telling like it is, the rest of the so-called conservatives are nothing but shills for the Republican Party!

To cheat wounded American veterans is a psycho-insane business and Hannity leads the charge whether he knows all the details or not. Isn’t it curious how he talks about how great these shows are, but we never see even a highlight? Put up with the truth Sean or shut up.

I Want His Job on April 24, 2010 at 2:33 pm

Sean took a few minutes on his radio show to make fun of my political poems, he used a staff member to act like a caller and the caller used a poem similar to mine to make fun of political creativity. What a fraud, I doubt he ever has uttered a creative thought of his own.

Schlussel Rules!

Every time I’ve mentioned this charity fraud to the supporters of that silly little man I am met with this wild eyed insane resistance which practically borders on violence. Recently I caused someone to cry when I told them in detail (which I read here) about this deplorable scheme to make a buck on the blood of our service people and how he should have to do time in prison for it. People continue to support this neatly coiffed pussy because they don’t want the truth they just to feel good all of the time. The power mad, ego maniacal, fake conservatives like Vanity will stoop to any depth to remain in the public eye. For them its all about making money by any means necessary not saving the country.

Keep up the good work…

Johnny on April 24, 2010 at 4:50 pm

The main reason the main stream media has ignored this story is because it was discovered by a blogger. They look down on bloggers and don’t think they’re credible. You can enter this freedom fraud on the internet and get lots of hits but non are main stream sites like the ny times or cnn. I guess its just another lie perpatrated by the right that the left wing media is out to get them. They all sleep in the same bed if you ask me.

tyler on April 24, 2010 at 8:06 pm

I’ve read the Freedom Charity’s answer to Debbie’s charges and the point they are making is that, to my understanding, their ratio of mission expences to the total revenue is 79%, which is higher then typical 75%.
Also, claim that liberal/left press is ignoring this issue is not correct – their blogosphere is abuzz with this “scandal” – thanks to Debbie…

AF: Actually the typical amount is 25%, not 75%, which is why their rip-off of 79% plus of the money they take in is such an outrage. DS

AF on April 24, 2010 at 5:56 pm

Vannity is just another scam artist just like many other faux conservatives talkers we know about. He has talked about God and religion often as being part of his guiding principles, and yet at least one Roman Catholic priest has called him out as not being truly Catholic. Vannity has a lot of work to do in the confessional. A cafeteria-style faux/non Catholic is what this Vannity turd is.

Have any of you noticed yet another way these side-show men are trying to grab the attention of more listeners / viewers by playing quotes from our forefathers or Reagan while in the background patriotic 18th century colonial music is being played? It does sound great (the music and quotes themselves, not the talkers) but it’s just another way these entertainers (not great thinkers) are trying to grab more of the gullible into their league of the truly brain-washed and uninformed, where the ‘educators’ are Palin/Vannity/Glendella/Fraudkin/Tea Party Politicians/…

Jarhead on April 25, 2010 at 11:58 am

I can’t take these depraved subhumanoids anymore. Hamas released an animated film Sunday bearing a grisly message for Israel: If it doesn’t meet the Islamic militant group’s demands, an Israeli soldier it has held for nearly four years could return home in a coffin.

I also cannot take the frummies that were standing outside the Israeli Consolate today waving “Palestinian” flags. How long do you think Mo and the Boys would actually allow these morons to live if they ever managed to get rid of the rest of us?

chris on April 26, 2010 at 1:43 am

I have a question that I believe I have raised before on this issue.

I am assuming that people who donate to Hannity’s scam are taking a tax deduction. What happens to those people when it is proven in court that this is a scam? Will they owe penalties to the IRS? If so I would think that this alone would wake a lot of conservatives up.

I_AM_ME on April 26, 2010 at 8:16 am

A pooka? Maybe a guy whose video has a title that claims someone was “Smear[ed] … without Justification”. (As opposed to what – justifiable smearing?) And who then starts his narration by talking about “less people”. And who then misuses his law degree with a bogus reference to double hearsay. And that’s just the first minute and a half.

sam on April 26, 2010 at 9:03 am

It seems obvious that it is human nature to seek idols…to “follow the leader.” Certainly, leftists were guilty of following a ‘Matinee Idol Messiah’ with little real experience – except of the anti-American and anti-Semitic type(yup,I mean the current president).
People with more conservative values seem as eager to follow a leader as well. Sadly, it is also human nature for some of those with power to seek more money and power. The current state of media and power in the USA lead me to predict that conservative-identified public personalities’ wrong-doing, like those Debbie reveals above, will be magnified by the mainstream media while the wrong-doing of those on the left will continue to be minimized.
I hang my head….

How about you let us see your tax returns Deb. I’m sure they would be interesting reading.

quilvio on April 26, 2010 at 11:11 am

quilvio – Debbie is not running a charity that is supposed to give the vast majority of the money to service members or their families, doofus. Maybe Vannity should show his income tax return so we can see how much money he has already stolen from his CONcerts.

Maybe some lawyer should sue Vannity on behalf of the people he screwed and get his income tax forms revealed during the trial. Then we could see how much money he really has stolen from our vets.

Jarhead on April 26, 2010 at 11:51 am

Fred Taub on April 26, 2010 at 1:06 pm

Tyler, that’s a good point there dude, I think one of the reasons why the so-called midstream media hasn’t reported on this story is because it’s from Debbie Schlussel’s website/blog, and the vermin in the media overlooks blogs and doesn’t take them seriously. Tyler, I too think that the left & the right in the media are in bed with eachother, and that’s why neither of them aren’t reporting this story.

What Hannity is doing is no different what Obama is doing to our country and to what the rest of the left wing establishment is doing to this country as well. Debbie, what your doing is NOT politics, it’s “right vs. wrong”, and I can guarantee you that if you report this story on mainstream conservative sites, their going to call you every word under the sun, and their going to dismiss you as a liberal, leftist, communist, socialist, etc., and that’s why I stopped posting on other mainstream conservative sites, because I’ve notice that their plain old neocon sites posing as conservatives!

Has Hannity ever produced any receipts showing what he personally paid for?

IAM: Nope. He has NOT. DS

I_AM_ME on April 26, 2010 at 2:11 pm

Worry01 nailed it! I remember Jim and Tammy Bakker’s PTL Club broadcast back when it started over 30 years ago. The Charlotte Observer wrote similar exposes about Jim & Tammy (but not as eloquently) as DS has about Hannity. The Observer was pressured by many conservative Christians to back and took more than a little heat. The Observer was not deterred and Jim ended up in prison. History does tend to repeat.

BTW, Jim is back on some channel nobody ever head of or watches but I’m not sure what his angle is now. He was talking diet food when I passed him channel surfing about a week ago. A leopard can’t change his spots, not matter how hard he tries.
