Hilarious: Tiger Woods Played Race Card; Called Out By Kindergarten Teacher’s Lawsuit Threat

By Debbie Schlussel

Throughout his career, there were many who applauded Tiger Woods seeming apolitical nature and non-emphasis on race.  It included Rush Limbaugh, with whom I often agree.  Many also applauded his statement, on “Oprah,” that he wasn’t Black, but “Cablinasian,” since he has many ethnicities in his background.  But I was not among these people.  I knew that, sooner or later, Woods would be political and that he would play the race card.

tigerwoodssmilinggloriaallred2

Apparently, that “sooner or later,” was 2005, when Woods spoke of his “racial identity” to Charles Barkley, in Barkley’s book, “Who’s Afraid of a Large Black Man.” Woods told Barkley that, in kindergarten at Cerritos Elementary  School in Cypress, California, he was tied to a tree, spray painted with the N-word, and had rocks thrown at him.  Woods also claimed that the teacher didn’t care and sent him home. I don’t find Woods’ claim credible, especially since he’d never mentioned it before, except in a Baba Wawa interview around the same time.  There are no documented reports of such an occurrence.  And no-one seems to remember it.  Seems to me, he was just playing the race card.

Now, in a comical sort of events, Woods’ former kindergarten teacher, Maureen Decker, is coming forward (where was she in 2005?) . . . and, sadly, she picked the biggest charlatan in the trial lawyer industry–the same lawyer who represents yet another woman in Woods’ life who wants an apology and some cha-ching.  I predict both of these women will be waiting a long time for both.  Like I said, I don’t believe Woods’ race-card story.  But not only is it weird that the teacher didn’t come out and deny this in 2005 (she waited five years), but also that she hired Gloria Allred, possibly the sleaziest attorney of our time.  Why? I can understand the teacher’s anger at being defamed in Woods’ obvious attempt to “get down with the struggle.”  But she has no grounds to sue him now, as the statute of limitations for filing a defamation suit has long ago expired (it’s only a year in most jurisdictions). She should have done it then.

So, what is really going on here (other than that Woods is a big fat liar, about not just women but issues of race)?

I don’t believe that, five years later, she is “still feeling the stress” of his apocryphal racial episode claims. Why does everyone in this world deserve an “apology”? Why would anyone want an apology from a serial philanderer and race card merchant (who loves his race so much, he picks zero women from it with which to sleep)? And, if she doesn’t get it, she’s gonna sue him? Hilarious.

To Mrs. Roberg and Mrs. Adler, my kindergarten teachers, I promise never to write about or defame you in any way. So, please, keep Gloria Allred far away from me.

BTW, check out a portion of transcript of my smackdown of Gloria Allred (scroll down) when we debated the issue of women members at Augusta National, several years ago.

Only slightly off topic is this fabulous reminder of what Racism is, what real men and women have suffered under real Racism and what a cry baby Tiger Woods really is …

As the article points out, each of the men featured are Republicans, the Democrats proudly labeling themselves the party of slavery.

‘The ‘N’ word”?? – what, is this kindergarten? Why would someone spray paint “Noun” on his chest, anyway?

DS_ROCKS! on April 4, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Don’t beat around the bush here, tell us what you really think about woods. 😉

Your transcript of the smackdown link is broken.

Tiger Woods will never be what he once was. He will continue to play golf and most likely win tournaments, but any magic that he had has vanished. Golf has lost the one person that gave it crossover appeal as a sport. By playing the race card, he simply ensures that whatever personal appeal he retained after his extra-marital affairs were exposed will vanish as well. Mr. Woods will just be a talented golfer, but nothing more. His past elan is now broken.

Worry01 on April 4, 2010 at 11:10 pm

Now that he’s been exposed as a philanderer, he’ll probably continue down the path of “Poor, downtrodden black man in amerikkka.” All his peeps will continue to worship at his altar. That’s predictable. Some how it’ll be the white chicks faults.

Joe on April 4, 2010 at 11:14 pm

It’s pretty obvious that all the hoopla about him wouldn’t have occurred over the years if he wasn’t black. He was perceived as black by everybody over the years and that is why we have had to endure the flood of nauseous Tiger Wood publicity for all these years.

Rush and the others were being a little naive. Tiger (what a captivating name) Woods did not need to emphasize race beausse it was implied in all the bubbly praise and coverage he was getting. I guess the emperor wore no clothes (excuse the pun).

Little Al on April 5, 2010 at 12:47 am

“It’s pretty obvious that all the hoopla about him wouldn’t have occurred over the years if he wasn’t black. ”
Sure he got some press because he’s black(well, blackish), but he’s also a damn fine golfer. To simply discount what he’s done because he’s black seems a bit off.

Oh…and I don’t really think Tiger played the race card. He mentioned it twice, once in someone else’s book and once on a Barbra Walter’s special (you can debate wither or not it true, that is a different matter) but mention something twice dosen’t count as playing the race card.

As certain of the comments here show, there are still a few who cannot stop worshipping at the feet of this fine athlete.

Yet as we should also clearly see, Woods never was much of a human being—just a pathetic wretch who happened to be able to handle a golfclub, but was apparently never comfortable with being himself. Skill, fame, money, a lovely wife and family weren’t enough for him—he also had to play the victim.

Dai Alanye on April 5, 2010 at 2:15 am

The man plays golf, and does it very, very well. Beyond that, he seems to be the product of marketing. People really do need to stop worshipping such people.

sorrow01 on April 5, 2010 at 3:13 am

Good point Sorrow + L Al.

Just watch his popularity blossom in the hood. I’d also bet he answered the census form just as B.O. did.

Joe on April 5, 2010 at 10:20 am

Why are you writing about Tiger Woods? This is not a gossip site.

Daniel on April 5, 2010 at 6:59 am

Tiger was well versed in playing the race card long before he came out with his fictitious account of a kindergarten lynching. At the 1997 Masters, fellow golfer Fuzzy Zoeller made some ill conceived remarks about Tiger, in an poor attempt to be funny. Fuzzy apologized to Tiger, which should have been the end of it, but Tiger never made any attempt to defend Fuzzy in the public forum; essentially throwing him under the bus. As a result, Fuzzy paid dearly and his life was pretty much ruined over a joke about fried chicken and collard greens.

I highly recommend reading the old 1996 Sports Illusrated article about Tiger Woods by Gary Smith. Here are some thoughts about Tiger from the mouth of Earl Woods, his dad.

“…….The world will be a better place to live in…by virtue of his existence…and his presence…. I acknowledge only a small part in that…in that I know that I was personally selected by God himself…to nurture this young man…and bring him to the point where he can make his contribution to humanity…. This is my treasure…. Please accept it…and use it wisely…. Thank you.”

Earl Woods has since passed, so I guess you will have to thank Tiger’s mom.

A Black celebrity that lies about White people terrorizing, bullying, traumatically abusing him while growing up, because of his skin color? Talk about redundant. That puts him at the back of a verrrrrrrrry long list. They’re shamelessly self-righteous,as are the guilt-ridden White and Jewish Leftists who always provide all the knee-jerk support, simply because he’s black – both his handlers and associates in the press and heads of corporations behind the scenes, and the fans who fall for it all and excuse everything.

Phineas on April 5, 2010 at 11:11 am

Ace:

So Tiger Woods played the race card by refusing to defend Fuzzy Zoeller? That’s rich.

Everyone else:

And no, Tiger Woods has never played the race card, or at least perhaps not before now. Instead, he was far more likely to make demeaning and derogatory comments against the black community, and to put as much distance between himself and the black community as possible. The guy was caught making “black jokes” before white fans at a golf tournament. Tiger also claimed that the reason why he considered himself Asian instead of black was that because UNLIKE MOST BLACKS, Asians believe in hard work, family and personal responsibility.

You conservatives were huge fans of Tiger Woods before his little blonde blue eyed harem on the side was discovered precisely because of that. Just like Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes, Ken Hamblin, etc. conservatives love blacks who reject being a part of or identifying with the black community, and who will trash the black community whenever given a chance to.

As far as whether this will improve Woods’ “street cred” … why not ask the same question about Jesse James (Sandra Bullock’s husband) or the many WHITE and JEWISH celebrities that have LONG publicly done the same thing. How many wives did Johnny Carson have? How many husbands did Liz Taylor have? Does the white community ostracize celebrities who trade spouses and mates like underwear? Nope, they just keep on making movies, music, TV shows, etc. For instance, how did Woody Allen’s career suffer over leaving his wife for his teenage adopted daughter? Not a bit. And what did the “family values conservatives” do with philanderer John McCain? Nominate him for president, and accuse the media outlets that talked about it of “the politics of personal destruction.”

And as for playing the race card … what hypocrites. What conservative didn’t agree with and embrace Clarence Thomas when he claimed to be a victim of a “high tech lynching”, and still doesn’t? And how many of you ran out and bought “The Real Anita Hill” by the homosexual David Brock, only to have the guy later admit that he was paid to fabricate stuff for that book by his publisher?

What I want to know is why Tiger Woods can’t still be a conservative hero despite his marital indiscretions the way that Newt Gingrich was. Everyone in Congress and at the RNC knew that the guy was a skirtchaser who finally left his wife while she was on her deathbed, and then philandered on that second wife also. Yet the guy was made speaker of the House and leader of the conservative movement during the Clinton era anyway.

So why the double standard? Why was Gingrich allowed to be a national family values religious social conservative leader, McCain was the GOP standard bearer, but Woods can no longer be one of your favorite self-hating black guys anymore? To quote the Orthodox Jew Sacha Baron Cohen in his Ali G character: “Is it coz he’s black?” (And as his quite evil movie “Bruno” proved, Cohen obviously prefers white homosexuals to blacks.)

Joe? Debbie? Ace? Little Al? Anyone?

Gerald on April 5, 2010 at 12:00 pm

    @gerald,

Nice essay, not worth even 1/10th the time it takes to debate the bullshit. You should seek counseling for the over wrought with white guilt condition you obviously suffer from. You probably don’t even golf.lol

Joe on April 5, 2010 at 3:59 pm

He did not do himself any favors there.

pat on April 5, 2010 at 12:46 pm

Gerald: your response is so wildly pocked with half-truths, out-of-context examples, stereotypes, straw men and red herrings that it makes me wonder what exactly your particular mantra and prejudice is, that it would be too laborious to address your inane points (perhaps that’s your strategy like so many Obongomatons.) However, Ali G. said, “Is it ’cause I’s black?” and why would he “prefer white homosexuals” because he portrayed one as a character? Do you alos think that Tom Cruise prefers Nazis because he played one in a movie?

DS_ROCKS! on April 5, 2010 at 12:57 pm

Take a xanax Gerald. ( while you can still get them) It is fine if you are a fan. Personally I hate golf, never thought too much of Tiger positive or negative. He must have some kind of mental problem to have that kind of notoriety and not enough sense to keep his life in order.

I am listening to this jerk right now on my radio and wondering why in the heck you get a press conference because you have some form of sexual addiction, ( whatever that means).

I believe Gingrich stepped down, correct?, and I had no idea Tiger was a conservative…, but I will take your word for it.

sharon on April 5, 2010 at 2:27 pm

He has ruined golf for me. I can’t watch anymore.

And, I know his wife is a ho because she stayed with him. Once a cheat, always a cheat.

goldenmike4393 on April 5, 2010 at 3:05 pm

Golf sucks anyway. Bunch of rich white boring guys.lol

Joe on April 5, 2010 at 4:03 pm

wouldn’t that make him the ho?

hellcat on April 5, 2010 at 4:07 pm

Now that Tiger has slipped the bonds of his ever present handlings that continually cleaned up his image, a different Tiger will surely appear. One angrier and more hostile to the audience.
Like OJ Simpson after his quittal, we have not seen the last of Tiger’s outrageous behavior. The golf industry will be faced with a tug of war between profits and image.
Stay tuned.

Tim on April 5, 2010 at 5:16 pm

Watched the Tigers press conference today from Augusta. I must admit that the guy was well prepared and was masterful. Tiger is either genuinely appalled at his behavior and contrite. Or he is a sociopath. Me thinks SOCIOPATH (based on over 30 years experience dealing with them).

Bonzer Wolf on April 5, 2010 at 9:27 pm

kindergarten teacher?

what did bill clinton’s say?

or jesse james? about their behaviors?

Bob on April 6, 2010 at 3:21 pm

It’s really a testament to golf fans who get tired of watching pro golfers miss twenty inch putts, that they’ll put up with the sleaze to see a good putter. I think he’s more like the lion from Wizard of Oz, no courage.

Tiger's Tell on April 6, 2010 at 6:26 pm

Don’t all blacks, when the going gets tough, always pull out the race card? This is in their DNA. Nothing new. Typical black person, no matter how much fame and money he gets.
