That’s Conservative?: Elisabeth Hasselbeck Praises Silencing Ann Coulter

By Debbie Schlussel

As I’ve long told you, airhead/ignoramus Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC’s daytime hag-fest, “The View,” is hardly a conservative.  Whether it’s her praise of Snoop Dogg, transsexuals, gay marriage and gays in the military, Al Sharpton, affirmative action, Title IX, Obama’s choice of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, her claim that John McCain was the most conservative 2008 candidate for the Republican nomination for President, or her outing of a Federal Air Marshal live on the air, or any number of other ridiculous statements, the woman is clueless . . . until she gets her FOX News talking points.  And even then, she still doesn’t get it.

elisabethhasselbeck.jpganncoulter.jpg

Two Mouths, But Only the Open One Needs Shutting

Today’s episode of the uber-annoying show took the cake.  While liberal Joy Behar defended Ann Coulter’s right to speak and decried officials’ decision to cancel a Coulter speech at a the University of Ottawa, Hasselbeck praised the move.  First, she said, “They did the right thing,” and muttered some of her typical stupidity about the safety of the students.  Then she went on and on about her multiple orgasms for Canada.

I’m so in love with Canada [DS:  reminds me of Angelina Jolie, saying, “I’m so in love with my brother right now] . . . . And they’ve done so much for this country, like what they did for us on 9/11.

Huh?  How ’bout how they booed U.S. hockey teams at the start of the Iraq war?  How ’bout how the whole country is socialist and a good deal of it is on welfare?  And lucky us–we’ve now copied their abysmal health care system.  Because a few Canadians were volunteer workers on 9/11, somehow this translates into justification for silencing speech they don’t like?

Even Sherri Shepherd–who has said in the past that she’s not convinced the earth isn’t flat–came to Coulter’s defense and said she should be allowed to speak.  But not Hasseldumb.

If only they had a real conservative with an actual brain on that show.  With the completely vacant Hasselbeck there, it’s better to have no-one at all.  It’s incredible when Joy Behar is the voice of reason on that show.

Hasselbeck is as vapid as Meghan McCain! TOO MUCH PEROXIDE IN YOUR HAIR EH LIZZIE?!?!?!

Bob Porrazzo on March 24, 2010 at 1:17 pm

Absolutely right; Didn’t realize how much I missed Schlussel and this forum (had a system crapout)and the coherence of thinking is refreshing. Thanks for still being here.

whitneymuse on March 24, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Bob, yoir PEROXIDE comment seems a little silly, considering the host. DS, I feel that some of your rants about EH also seems silly, esp, the Sonia Sotomayor, gays and gays in the military, ( I served with openly gay people in a non-cambat capacity and have nothing but praise for these brave guys), plus my wife loves Canada, even though born in NJ, and goes there every year on vacation ( I must say she mainly lieks the global aspects of Toronto)…I just do not see your point with this posting, other than showing a closed mind, which I had at one time until a near death exp drastically changed my mind about my attitude toward all those diff from me.

buckjohnson on March 25, 2010 at 3:17 pm

HA What a laugh a right winger mocking someone who doubts science. What a first. I suppose all conservatives are suppose to think alike right? NONE of TV conservatives talk about the Zionist mov’t. All of them in their stupid religiosity actually think that Israel gives a crap them. But no COnservatives are only supposed to speak out Islam and homos..lol Perhaps a piece on that would do us some good. Perhaps a piece on why Sanchez was not wrong would do you some good. Good one Debbie Flubby.

Kristeb on October 24, 2010 at 11:55 am

I don’t know of any conservative who regards Hasselbeck as conservative. Only liberal news readers refer to her as a conservative.

Oscar on March 24, 2010 at 1:23 pm

If I was a member of the University group that arranged for Ms. Coulter to give a speech, I would recruit some of University’s football players, the weight lifting team, or the taekwondo team to provide security. They could easily handle those left wing, yoga, ballet, and drama club students.

Rick on March 24, 2010 at 1:25 pm

How does anyone watch that show? They are the most annoying women in the world. It seems like you could use that show to torture people. Elizabeth what has she done? she went on a reality tv show and somehow that makes her an expert on everything.

Ruth on March 24, 2010 at 1:30 pm

I can imagine the provost of the University of Ontario helpfully reminding Debbie of approved topics she can speak on while there. Fortunately, we have the First Amendment here but how it went down in Canada revealed there’s no real freedom of speech for who have non-leftist views.

NormanF on March 24, 2010 at 1:31 pm

In most aspects of our political structure there are liberal plants. During the coming elections we will be saddled with more faux conservatives than ever before just to muddy the waters as much as possible so we wont know who we’re voting for. The conservative movement is fading fast while the real conservatives wither on the vine because voters make the wrong choice, example; Mcain v. Romney even thats a question mark. Elizabeth knows as much about politics as her dim-witted husband knows about football on ESPN. But its a great way for the both of them to get “PAID” bigtime, fleecing various media outlets. Even her brother inlaw on the Seahawks is a pain in my rear. However we must be patient and wait for their light to shine less bright and they’ll be gone.

ARISHEM on March 24, 2010 at 1:34 pm

Rather than watching that stupid show, which you obviously did for a reason that escapes me, how about delivering on the goods you promised us regarding Sean Hannity’s fraudulent Freedom Concerts.

R: I already delivered the goods, last week. But there is much more to come. The scam is even bigger than I realized. DS

rectonoverso on March 24, 2010 at 1:35 pm

This is so dangerous. The founders are turning over in their graves. We seem to be entering the second dark age.

Joe on March 24, 2010 at 1:39 pm

LOL Aunty Idiot…I am so glad Ann Coulter is on our side. She is one of the few peeps out there that if fierce and has balls. Planes leave for Canada everyday if you love it so much. Book a flight now.

One of the greatest gifts that God gave me was making me an American and not a pathetic Canadian. I despise Canada and throw out their crappy money whenever I get it (however, I may have to stop that at the rate our dollar is declining) and they hate us like the way Jennifer Lopez’s ugly sister hates her because Jlo is gorgeous and Linda looks like a horse. Yet if anything were to happen to them, we’d have to step in with our blood and treasure (what little we have left)!

Yep, Hasselbim is just a ‘tard. She is surely no Ann Coulter. Ann Coulter doesn’t bow to anyone. Eff Canada!

Skunky on March 24, 2010 at 1:50 pm

I’m not really sure why it is necessary to turn this into an ignorant rant about your hatred for Canada. People like you are the reason why many of my American friends have said that when travelling overseas they put Canadian flags on their backpacks instead of the American flag because they were treated better. Fortunately, I do have many intelligent, informed American friends so I know that your attitude is not the typical of most Americans. It is possible to be a proud American and have opinions without spewing hate for everything that differs from how you think things ought to be.

Read a book, take a trip outside your own neighborhood and stop being so angry.

Sophia on November 3, 2011 at 1:40 pm

No, Debbie, Hesselbeck isn’t talking about a few Canadians helping as volounteers at Ground Zero. She’s talking about the help, warmth, food, etc. that approximately 33,000 US-bound passangers (on 250 US-bound planes) recieved after being diverted to Canada on that terrible day. It was a herculean feat that gets scant recgonition by our friends to the south.

And for the record: Canada’s current unemployment rate is 8.2% where the US rate is 9.7%.

Personally, I wish the U of Ottawa was smarter about the whole thing. Anne Coulter is to pundtry what Hulk Hogan was to sport. The more she speaks the more people see how truly stupid she is. They dropped the ball on this one.

M: That’s great. But please tell me how that means Canada gets a free pass on silencing conservatives and others it doesn’t like (while welcoming extremist Muslims with open arms). DS

Worry01 on March 24, 2010 at 2:05 pm

DS: I think it goes without saying, but can we take this article to imply that Coulter is the “real deal” as far as conservatives go?

I ask because although I have not always agreed with your assessments of certain high profile conservatives, you have been invaluable in terms of exposing the real phonies.

Aside from your blog, of course, are there conservative commentators that you would recommend/approve of?

Jewish Marksman on March 24, 2010 at 2:10 pm

This just demonstrates once again that the state run media is no different than Pravda.

They have become the propaganda mouthpiece for the Elite New World Order crowd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck is just a puppet.

If they had a real conservative on the show, the other pundits would look like communist spokesmen from Pravda or for Fidel Castro.

ScottyDog on March 24, 2010 at 2:30 pm

Ann Coulter should have described here speech as being about how to make money in Child Pornography. She would have been ushered into the University on a red carpet. Only then should she have changed her topic to something much more detrimental to Canadienne youth, right wing politics.

Tim on March 24, 2010 at 2:59 pm

Some brief comments with respect to Coulter…
1) First, I don’t believe that the howling mobs who came out to intimidate Ann Coulter are necessarily “only found in Canada.” Michael Oren’s speech back in February was also interrupted by mobs of shouters at University of California, Irvine. (Similar experiences have occurred at Oxford University, UK). The howling mobs are appearing on campuses in a number of countries…again, not just in Canada.
2) As an American living in Canada, let me just try to explain that Canada does not have a robust “free speech” history. Unlike in the United States Free Speech is NOT considered an “inalienable right.” In Canada rights are “granted” by the Crown. “Rights” are more or less at the behest of Royalty, and subject to revocation at the drop of a hat.
3) The screaming mob in a frenzy about Coulter illustrates for me, the general level of immaturity or fearfulness when it comes to issues of Free Speech. I guess these are people who deeply fear controversial ideas. (It’s as if they’ve come out rushing to the defense of some notion of “Canada” — like some goon squad or government stooges out to shut up any who fail to “toe the government or PC line.” Again, in the U.S., by contrast, there have always been freedom fighters and rebels who refuse to kow-tow to *anyone* (let alone government lackeys.)

J.S. on March 24, 2010 at 3:31 pm

I’m living in Canada right now, I can tell you Ann is at fault here. I mean you have to really go out of your way to make a crowd full of conservatives boo you and walk out in the middle of your speech, Ann. Which is exactly what happened. I am currently living with my sister in Canada near Laurier University and I heard that the ‘Young Liberals’ which is apparently the youth wing of the Liberal party were collecting people bus upto Ottawa. I almost signed up but felt it was not worth the work of sitting in a bus for several hours :p . I think this is the right decision by the University of Ottawa, they probably don’t want to have riot on their hands.

Kayle Igelstrom on March 24, 2010 at 6:02 pm

Kayle, perhaps you’ll go next time if the bus driving all the Liberals is a “Fung Wah” bus.

I loved when Ann told the idiot Liberal who said that she didn’t have a magic carpet to ride on to go on a camel. We need more conservatives like that…fierce, funny and unafraid.

Skunky on March 24, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Skunky, the person she insulted was a conservative. It was meeting for the conservatives and the people in the audience were very the very people who paid for her to give the speech. Don’t you think if a crowd of conservatives booed her and walked out her speech that maybe she was the one who’s wrong there?

Kayle Igelstrom on March 24, 2010 at 7:19 pm

Not if the so-called conservatives were Canucks. That’s still a Liberal. Ann Coulter is the real deal and you just hate her because you guzzle the Liberal kool-aid. Try thinking for yourself.

Skunky on March 24, 2010 at 7:33 pm

FWIW: Ann Coulter was more then welcome in Calgary.

OttawaJoelle on March 25, 2010 at 12:44 pm

Way to go Canada, do you still have freedom of speech? Have you banned Michael Savage yet? Or, do you only want fuax-conservatives to speak in Canada?

Jarhead on March 24, 2010 at 6:12 pm

Guess some here don’t really understand the notion of Free Speech. Here’s a clue (for the clueless) — when a speaker speaks, you don’t have to agreee with everything the speaker states! Now, isn’t that just shocking! Shocking!

Anyway, another clue here — only speech which by its very nature is offensive requres protection. Speech which is pleasant, and calming, and “politically correct” requires no protection, since everyone will agree with it to begin with. No one will ever attempt to censor or stifle Politically Correct speech or speech which repeats the tried and true nostrums of the “ho-hum” variety. It’s when ordinary assumptions are vigorously challenged, when the “accepted” notions of PC are put to the test — that’s when speakers require a protection clause (ie, the speakers and speech not shut down by some government lackeys running an HRC Tribunal or shut down by a screaming group of “university” lackeys distressed that their “world-view” might not be shared by everyone on the planet…If you want “group think” and group speech, go immigrate to North Korea or any of those many Islamist Dictatorships. And have fun! Enjoy.

J.S. on March 24, 2010 at 7:02 pm

Would also add that there’s a Wiki entry under “Political Libel”. Link here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_libel

The article explains how political speech is stifled in Canada by various laws.

J.S. on March 24, 2010 at 7:09 pm

Just a quick point…unfortunately I have seen a lot of “The View.” Hasselback dosen’t take a liberal point of view as far as gay marriage and gays in the military, she is very much against both.
Ann Coulter….really?

Pete Bone on March 24, 2010 at 8:17 pm

She’s just trying to fit in like some idiot teenager. I don’t get to see the show because I work but I have seen clips. She doesn’t want anyone to identify her as a conservative conservative. She wants to be a “hip” conservative. She wants to swoon over michelle obama and cry and become offended when Whoopi Goldberg uses the word “nigger”. Puh-lease!

Those people lovin’ Canadians also tried to silence Mark Steyn for stating simple truths about Sharia Law and Muslim practices in Canada.

Conservatives, if they really want to fight these weenies, simply need to flood the zone and have speakers, and promotional efforts everywhere and watch the libs punditry get flustered when they run out of commie libs to protest.

Kayle Igelstrom

Are you sure the people that walked out were conservatives or were they liberals that were bused in to agitate and make trouble.

From what I hear and read Canada no longer has free speech but has passed numerous hate speech laws to protect the delicate ears and minds of the liberals.

ScottyDog on March 24, 2010 at 9:33 pm

Kayle Igelstrom, where do you get your facts, buddy?

The woman that Ann supposedly insulted is a radical Islamist who denies the nationhood of Israel!

Her name is Fatima Al Dhaher. She read a scripted statement from her Blackberry. Ann simply repeated the response of KATHY SHAIDLE (that could be heard in the audience), to get a camel.

Google Fatima Al Dhaher.

Fatima has since ERASED her facebook membership in “It’s Called Palestine Not Israel!”, but not before Blazing Cat Fur took screen shots of her ACTIVE membership!

Fatima calls herself a liberal! Not a conservative! On her facebook info page—

Fatima is offended by Ann telling her to ride a camel… when Fatima herself is an anti-Semite? Huh?

When you think of the University of Ottawa, think, that’s where village idiots go to get a degree. And the university provost there, that warned Ann to watcheth what she say, is a complete assHoule.

The Canadien on March 24, 2010 at 11:30 pm

Hasselback isn’t on the view to fulfill a conservative viewpoint but rather she’s there to fulfill the “young” voice. The first chick they hired, Debbie Matenolopous was even more flakier than Hasselback and was let go after the first season. Hasselback is not really a thinking conservative, she just parrots whatever FOX News and her social circles want her to parrot. I think I’d rather have the original flake back, at least she stayed away from politics.

Kal on March 25, 2010 at 6:57 am

She was promoted by the View and the media as a conservative so the show looks like it had a tiny bit of balance. I don’t consider her important other than to say she is a moderate, not conservative. And she is hot, I’ve liked her since I watched the Surviror she was on. It is the only one I have watched, though not because she was on it.

BWR on March 25, 2010 at 8:55 am

This is not just a Canadian problem, we have the same issues
right here and getting worse. For anyone to think those were
conservative students yelling against Ann is a riot. I’m sure there were conservatives there, but as we have seen here the
conservatives are pretty tame compared to the leftists.

I’m not buying the “major” news here that in the aftermath of
the health scam bill the congressmen are being deluged with
death threats, need security, etc. Sure, there are some wackos
out there on our side too, but I smell some plants. The left
has always been willing to play hardball and we have never
matched them, nor do most of us want too. Strange that there
is no video or audio of those black congressmen getting called
the N word as they walked through the Tea Party crowd, nor was
there any arrests made that day.

Daniel K on March 25, 2010 at 9:33 am

What Ann Coulter promotes is hate-speech, not free speech. A university campus is a place where students should feel safe and not be subject to racism especially coming from a woman who clearly doesn’t even understand the concept of geography, let alone respect. This goes beyond a matter of students not wanting to hear what they don’t want to hear. The University of Ottawa (not Ontario, as someone ignorantly mentioned in the comments above), IS a place where points of view can be heard. It is the conservative club that invited Coulter to come speak, after all.

The protest was not violent and there was security on site. It was the decision of Ann’s bodyguard to cancel the event, not because of rowdy students who had overturned cars or set trees on fire. I guess Ann is just not used to having people shut her up so now she’s on a tirade to call the university stupid, which includes Mr. Houle and the students. Very mature, indeed.

And to “The Canadien”. Are you really? If so, i’m sure Ann would gladly have you as a neighbour. You can have barbecues with little hot dogs with sesame buns.

That poor girl, who’s SEVENTEEN, btw, did not deserve to be told to ‘take a camel”. Being part of a Palestine group does not make you anti-semite, last time i checked, compared to the multiple statements made by Coulter that Jews are “imperfect christians”. Or the racist comments saying that the united states should invade islamic countries, kill their leaders and convert them to christianity. Oh yeah, that little girl is the worst of the worst. She should be ashamed of herself.

I guess we’ll see what Ann has to say, and we all know she’s gonna mention it, in Calgary tonight. But she might get lucky. After all, the cowboys are the best part of Canada, right Ann?

OttawaJoelle on March 25, 2010 at 1:05 pm

Ugh, thank goodness you’re a Canadien! Something I would NEVER be proud of. This is how that silly country thinks…

Susan Cole, Canadian “feminist,” defending the mob on Fox News:
We don’t have that same political culture here in (Canada). . . . We don’t have a 1st Amendment, we don’t have a religion of free speech. . . . Students sign off on all kinds of agreements as to how they’ll behave on campus, in order to respect diversity, equity, all of the values that Canadians really care about. Those are the things that drive our political culture. Not freedoms, not rugged individualism, not free speech. It’s different, and for us, it works.

GOD MADE ME AN AMERICAN! Thank the Lord!

Skunky on March 25, 2010 at 6:59 pm

Not sure what you have against Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She is more there to be the token Republican than the token conservative, and even an “I’m so ashamed to be a Republican!” RINO like Amo Houghton or Jim Jeffords looks conservative when matched up against The View leftists who are AMAZED when they find a living breathing person with a different point of view.

But seriously, Hasselbeck shouldn’t be counted on for conservative opinion or leadership anyway (and those looking for principled conservative ideas shouldn’t be watching The View. As a matter of fact, people shouldn’t watch The View for ANY reason … what kind of ratings does that show get anyway … it is just Barbara Walters’ vanity project). Hasselbeck is the wife of a jock (who could have done better, even if he is an obscure jock) and former reality show contestant who is only on the show because she is A) somewhat easy on the eyes (for the benefit of the few heterosexual men and the many lesbians who tune in) and she is supposed to represent the opinions of average everyday “real Americans.” Or kinda sorta, as “real Americans” tend not to be married to former NFL quarterbacks and have degrees from Boston College … but rather someone who isn’t a Hollywood or celebrity type. That Hasselbeck is a Republican capable of offering another viewpoint from time to time is a bonus. But The View was aiming for a populist ratings boost when adding Hasselbeck, not a conservative commentator. If they had been looking for the latter, they would have gotten someone from the Independent Women’s Forum or some outfit like that.

As far as Ann Coulter goes, I don’t have a problem in saying that the conservative movement is better off not being represented by her ilk anyway. Earlier in her career, she did regularly produce good conservative commentary and policy analysis, and was an effective advocate for right wing causes. But now, she has gotten lazy, and all she does is launch (increasingly predictable and repetitive) insults and tirades and collect paychecks for it. What are people supposed to learn about the conservative movement from a woman who says that Muslims shouldn’t be allowed on airplanes, and that they should just take a camel or use flying carpets if they want to get anywhere? And then she calls it “satire”? Look, there is a line between challenging politically correct boundaries and being a mean-spirited hateful bomb thrower who bashes people because of their ethnicity and religion. (Need I remind you that Coulter absolutely adores anti-Israel segregationist Pat Buchanan, and is nothing more than Buchanan in a skirt, except that Buchanan has twice the brains and four times the work ethic.)

That’s probably why they invited Coulter to begin with. They didn’t want an effective capable spokesman who would make conservatives look intelligent and humane and conservative ideas look rational and reasonable like Mark Steyn (whom the Canadian thought police and the Muslim activists have been hounding for years now). Instead, they wanted a caricature that they could associate conservatives and conservatism with so they could dismiss conservatives as hate-filled, irrational small minded people. It is no different from a minstrel show, and Coulter was there to give them what they wanted and collect her money just like Amos N Andy.

Let someone go speak in Canada who can EFFECTIVELY represent the conservative cause by NOT sounding like someone who would have been first in like to join the KKK if they had been born 40 years earlier like Coulter. It isn’t as if there aren’t plenty to choose from.

Gerald on March 25, 2010 at 2:21 pm

Gerald
I take it you do not like Ann.It seems to me you are the one expousing hate speech comparing her to the KKK.

The problem with some conservatives is they are not really conservative but are liberal lites and subscribe to Politically Correct speech codes and hate speech docturn.

From reading your screed that seems like just like you.

As far as her saying muslim should not fly and they should get a camel, I guess you have lost your sense of humor.

ScottyDog on March 25, 2010 at 3:50 pm

Fatima asked Ann a silly question (as if anybody expected Muslims to use imaginary flying carpets) about other modes of transportation to use. Take a camel, she was bluntly told.

Fatima wanted to be insulted, she came looking for that insult, and then walked off in a huff (as a victim!) after she received her “horrible” answer. Which wasn’t an insult, but hyperbole on Ann’s part.

See for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKGK1Mf3MUI

She is racist, an Israel hater, and a complete phoney. End of story.

On another note:

The Canadian Association of University Teachers condemned the University of Ottawa’s provost’s warning letter, which had been sent to Ann before she had even arrived in Canada, see:

Even CAUT thinks Francois is a complete assHoule…

Ann Coulter was interviewed an hour or so ago on CBC (Coulter’s speech in Calgary is happening in a few hours from now.) Anyway, the interview was hilarious. The CBC interviewer asked, incredulously (not quoting verbatim): “but, but, but do you really think this is a Free Speech issue?” And Coulter responds, (again not verbatim but words to the effect): “Well just what do you think is the problem? I’m violating some trespass laws here?”

Also, with respect to the University of Ottawa fiasco where she was prevented from speaking. “Students” were burning her books! (Guess they’ve never heard of the gestapo either). Then, they pulled the fire alarm and fire trucks arrived. Good Grief. So many Canadians are so incredibly ignorant (it’s an embarrassment.) I’ve also read on-line comments from Canadians — the sheer abysmal stupidity is breathtaking. Oh, and the “students” at the University of Ottawa were also chanting and shouting out slogans and pumping their fists into the air — in unison. Just like they do in Iran. Pathetic. It’s “group think” up here (or else you’ll be rounded up by the thought police — that’s the Human “rights” Tribunals). Wonder if they patterned themselves after a Tehran model?

J.S. on March 25, 2010 at 7:26 pm

I think it was Hilary Swank (not Angelina Jolie)who proclaimed her brotherly love the night she accepted an Academy Award for best actress in “Boys Don’t Cry”.

MD: No, it was Angelina Jolie, when she accepted the Academy Award. She said, “I’m so in love with my brother right now.” Look it up. DS

Mr. Dart on March 27, 2010 at 4:08 pm

Deb, except for somewhat similar viewpoints on some things, I never understood your support of Coulter. She calls Jews “imperfect Christians”, she says women are dumb and shouldn’t have the right to vote. You are both Jewish and female, how can you agree with this self-hating woman? Even if I disagree with you about half the time I do think you are intelligent, which I don’t think Coulter is.

As for “blocking a different point of view”, to be honest, both sides are doing that now in spades. Please don’t tell me the tea party shouts and slurs at Congress-people and yells of “repeal and replace” (and no, it is not a “plant”, nor to be fair to both sides was Arlen Specter changing parties either, both just are and happened) are not trying to block a different point of view. Yes, shoving the health care bill down the way it was kind of is too, but that’s the problem, everyone and I mean EVERYONE is trying to desperately block free speech and the natural merging/clashing of viewpoints.

I can just imagine at this rate what is going to happen after the 2012 presidential elections if it is razor-close (or worse something like 2000 where one candidate has more electorial votes and the other more popular votes), the people representing the “loser” (regardless of whether it is Obama or his opponent) will probably riot.

As for Canada, I honestly think gov’t policies aside that more Americans (both number and percent) are on welfare, especially now. And as for our “new health care system” being theirs as one commented, actually that would only be true if we were “single payer”. The one nation who’s health care system is similar to the bill that just passed is Japan.

Anne Coulter was the one who canceled her appearance in Ottawa at the recommendation of her security advisors. It is common knowledge she was worried about getting verbally trounced by well informed students. Anne’s record of ignorance on all things Canadian is well documented.

Wow some of you Americans are bashing Canada truly showing your ignorance. Canada has a right wing Prime Minister. The U.S. has a left wing President. Which population got it right?

Isn’t it always so sad to see Libs trying to pose as conservatives in order to gain attention, and then get caught in their own web of lies like Elizabeth Hasselbeck does all the time? I mean come on, like Bob Schieffer asked of David Axelrod, is that that the best you’ve got? Hasselbeck has never touted the conservative line, unless she’s trying to play the public for fools. She routinely attacks conservatives on The View and on her own, so why is anyone surprised to find out that she’s just a liberal hack who is just doing all she can to try and exbarass “real conservatives and real republicans.” She needs to just do as so many in hollywood eventually end up doing, just come on out of the closet, and tell the whole world you’ve been living a total lie. Then you might get an ounce of respect from at least the libs and dems, even if you’re still seen as a fraud to us conservatives and republicans. The truth will out, for the truth shall set you free! LOL

Deb,
I love ya, but when you write stuff like this, “How ’bout how the whole country is socialist and a good deal of it is on welfare?” you do your credibility no favours. You are demonstrating that you actually believe the stuff Michael Moore says. Cheers, Wayne

    Thanks Wayne! Completely agree.
