PB: My sources in ICE told me that the Obama White House specifically ordered them freed. Yes, they are awaiting trial, but should be in detention, not free (to escape). Those bracelets don’t work that well. DS

There is only one way to really solve this problem, get rid of the need.
Maybe the ICE isn’t doing it’s job, maybe it is, but if people are that upset by it, get American’s to start working crap jobs. Somehow we got it in our heads that we should start at the top, with a good pay and full benefits. No one wants to start at the bottom and work up. Also, no one wants to pay anyone (farm workers, cashiers, busboys, etc) anything yet they still expect everything to be cheap. Get Americans to work those jobs and pay decent wages and the problems is solved.

Don’t hold your breath for ICE to be self correcting, with Schumer constantly trying to concoct ways to get them into DEA’s rice bowl and out of immigration enforcement all together, there’s no one minding the store in the interior. It is now the era of ‘Tag and Release’. But this is just one small part of DHS’s utter dysfunctionality as a national security agency. There are many ways we can refit these ankle bracelets with other devices besides the GPS tracking circuits to make them way more effective. The ways are almost endless when you combine electronics with administering drugs, electrical shocks, microwave radiation, speakers, … After cuffing these illegals with these refitted ankle bracelets, just tell them they have 1 week to leave America before the fun begins.

The overall argument I see from the Immigration Reform group CASAS and the illegal immigrants and their families, is that they are not “criminals”. Unfortunately, based on the fact that most of these people just violated Administrative Law they are correct. In my opinion this could be changed very easily…MAKE IT A CRIME!!!

Many of these illegal immigrants were brought here as very small children by the faults of their parents. They had no say. This is all they know and to be thrown back to a country they do not even know is not fair. I do believe adults who have made the decision to go to any country illegally should not stay but for the children it is a different story.

What this article fails to mention is that ICE/DRO is always facing a shortage of bed space and a place to keep these aliens locked up pending a hearing before the Immigration Judge. Every time an alien is taken into custody, a number of factors are taken into account, including criminal record, when deciding whether to keep the individual in detention or to release under one of the ATD programs.

The article also fails to mention that this was common practice during the Bush administration as well, but I suppose that fact can easily be overlooked when Obama bashing seems to be the order of the day.
