CNN Upset Over Israeli Ad Mocking Dubai Assassination

By Debbie Schlussel

Some Israeli TV ads are quite clever, although this one doesn’t necessarily look like it will be that funny.  Still, I love how CNN (the Crescent News Network) has its panties in a bunch over an Israeli supermarket ad mocking the Dubai assassination of HAMAS operative Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh a/k/a “Abu Abed.” Give all credit where it is due to the creativity of Machsanei Kimat Chinam, the Israeli supermarket that thought this up and is getting tons of free publicity from the faux-outrage over this ad.

CNN International, which blocks its videos in the U.S.  on YouTube, called it “in poor taste.”  As if CNN has a clue what “taste” is.  (Have they bothered to listen to any reports by Christiane Amanpour?  Now, that’s poor taste.)

I love the false, overwrought outrage these lefties display over trivial nothings while they look the other way at Islamic terrorism–mass murders in cold blood–all around the world.  And I hope the entire world is upset–as they always are by cheeky Israeli TV ads–by this in-your-face video thumbing of the nose. If only they had the supermarket shoppers killing an Islamic terrorist for a real “clean-up on Aisle 8.” Oh, and they need to show the incompetent supermarket security guard, who could double as Dubai’s bungling police chief.

Is there any big media that is not in the stranglehold of islamist interests?

DS_ROCKS! on March 18, 2010 at 3:17 pm

They can name a square after a terrorist who killed over 30 civilians and CNN says nothing. An Israeli supermarket chain makes a commercial spoofing the assassination of a terrorist and it matters that those in Gaza may not like it?

Huh?

Cartoon Network ratings beats CNN, MSNBC – Glenn Reynolds quips “Because they have more believable characters”.

LMAO

Well gee, if Dubai doesn’t want this sort of stuff happening, all they have to do is extradite the terrorists to Israel. Simple enough.

If Israel did it and CNN doesn’t like it; it has to be good.

How did anyone know that CNN was mocking this? Did they send out a press release? The only people watching are stuck in airports or standing at the urinals in the mall in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in Manhattan.
Also…did anyone catch Biden mocking the Isreali housing build up in his embarrasing speach last night? What an ASS!

I think it’s creative and funny. Oh, and I hope the Mossad offed that Hamas scumbag. Long live Israel!

Another excellent post, Debbie. I also agree with all of the comments that were posted here prior to this one.

In answer to Bob’s 5:34 post, yes I did catch Biden’s mocking Israel’s housing project and I second the motion that Biden is an A$$.

Who cares who killed the Hamasnik. It could have been Fatah? We don’t know. We should be celebrating the assassinations of these murderer terrorists, unless you like losing your hands while feeding the crocodiles. We should hand out candy to our children and dance in the streets the same way terrorists acted after 9/11. Celebrate the death of people trying to kill Jews. May they all be martyred in paradise! It’s not like the world becomes worse by fighting Terror. Let’s make every enemy fear Israel, to not dare attack Jews. Have the rabid dogs run in fear from the consequences of their action. Run in fear, into the waiting arms of the IDF.

oh… the… horror… When will these “reporters” get off their prayer rugs pointing to Mecca and start being objective reporters, reporting the true tragedies of the countless number of Jews (among others) that have been murdered by this Hamas leader and his followers. If these terror attacks happened in the US with the same proportionate number of people killed per population (in comparison to Israel’s), the outrage and the demand for true justice would be overwhelming. Unfortunately, this will never happen due to the indoctrination of our children in government-run schools, since this government has tried for years to appease these homicidal animals with a faux peace-process. It is about time for Israel to stand up for itself and take action since this government is NOT acting in Israel’s best interest or to protect it.

on the cnn website beneath any stories about anything in the middle east, israel or any islamic country , on the comments below 90% of the comments are either anti-israel(even if story had nothing to do with israel), anti-semitic or pro-arab or pro-palestinian.

and if you leave comments defending israel, the other side of the story or stating TRUE facts about islamists or the muslim world – YOU WILL BE BANNED ON THEIR SITE FROM COMMENTING!

The Christmas Bombadier used poor taste in his choice of holidays too.

Hey now… I’m one of those “lefties” and I think this commercial is awesome. Reading about that Hamas assassination made me very happy.

I hate seeing pro-Palestine-ism being associated with left-wing politics. I’m a registered Democrat living in San Francisco and I, as well as most of the people around me, know better than to support Palestine, Hamas or their other buddies.

There are 1 billion Muslims in the world and only 14 million Jews. It might not be the best idea for the minority to piss off the majority. Jews have enjoyed a bubble of relative safety since WWII, but this may not always be the case, as history only too clearly demonstrates. If you piss people off enough, eventually you will feel their wrath.

Instead of laughing at the murder of another human being to promote their products, these shopkeepers might want to rather promote the values of liberal democracy which gives them the freedom to do so. I wonder how these shopkeepers would feel if Dubai ran funny ads about putting high prices on trains to Bergen Belsen and throwing them into gas ovens.

I agree that we need to fight terror as hard as possible, but laughing at human deaths is sickness and lunacy.

This world needs more promotion of understanding and respect between people, not the promotion of hatred and hurt feelings.

the Crescent News Network sure has their priorities straight, right? …
Stop the presses!…Forget the murdering muslim terrorists…those nasty Jews have this disgusting commercial…gasp! what is the world coming to?!
………thank goodness for the watchfull eye of CNN… 😉

Seriously, I wish our commercials showed this much originality. This rules!

celebrate the death of a murderer of Jews? No wonder the world is as upset as it was when Haman met his unfortunate demise on the gallows. One is not supposed to be happy over an anti-Semite being sent to his grave. No matter what the Jews do – their true heroes are maligned and their opinion is found intolerable – even if that just happens to be a tongue-in-cheek supermarket ad!
