Another Dumb Actress Attacks Israel, Supports Residential Redlining of Jews

By Debbie Schlussel

If the name Eliza Dushku sounds familiar, you may know of her from her past TV series, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and “Angel” or her recently canceled series, “Dollhouse.”  Her career is clearly “taking off” since she’s been cast in the upcoming novel idea, “Ghostbusters III.”  (Come on, Hollywood, come up with something original.)

Beautiful Airhead, Yarmulke-Clad Airhead, Both Need Drink of STFU

But, now, I know her as an anti-Israel segregationist, who believes Jews have no right to live in certain parts of town.  Yesterday, from her Twitter account, Dushku tweeted to her more than 500,000 followers that she agreed with Vice President Joe Biden’s boneheaded comment attacking Israel for building 1600 apartments in Jerusalem, which has been a Jewish city for thousands of years.  I don’t know where in Hollywood or elsewhere the airheaded Ms. Dushku lives, but I wonder how she’d like it if we said that Mormons (she was raised a Mormon) or those of Albanian descent (which she also is) are not allowed to live there because Islamic terrorists don’t like it.  (I guess she’s unaware that in Albania, Christians have been largely driven out and attacked by Muslims.  Or, perhaps, she supports that redlining, too.)

Here’s her Tweet and the very appropriate smackdown responses:

elizadushkuantiisrael

Our friend, the JIDF (Jewish Internet Defense Force) responded to her far better than I could, so below are JIDF’s retweets.  Follow JIDF on Twitter.  And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, too.  Since Eliza Dushku believes that Jews shouldn’t be allowed to live where they want to, I believe that Jews shouldn’t be allowed to see or patronize any of her movies or TV shows.

In 2003, Dushku starred in the movie, “Wrong Turn.”  A great description of her entry into Middle Eastern politics and anti-Semitic residential policy.  In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” she told Jimmy that the first half of her surname “rhymes with tush.”  How accurate, since she seems to pull her pronouncements on the Middle East straight from her ass.

Here’s a tip, Eliza:

Shut up and act.

Thank you, Debbie – for bringing even more attention to Eliza Dushku’s idiocy (and for the mention!)

C’mon, guys, she’s SMART!!! She watches CNN, doesn’t she?

You can always tell who is a phony blowhard by how often they mention they watch CNN. They are the same people who plaster their cars with 300 bumper stickers about how they support all these hippie causes.

Speaking of Hollywood and stupidity, anyone notice all the Al Gore loving celebs arriving at the Oscars in mile long limos?

Jeff_W on March 10, 2010 at 3:24 pm

These low voltage stars do get quite tedious. Also, many of Hollywood’s offerings seem to be the product of drugged up inbreds who are incapable of even a semi-original thought.

Dushku sounds like a smart girl. Probably Eastern European and knows what the damned Jewish Commies did to our people.

E: “Our people”? Puh-leeze. The people in Eastern Europe spent centuries harassing, persecuting, and executing violent pogroms against Jews. A more accurate statement would by “what our damned people did to the Jews.” Oh, and if you read, I noted she was part Albanian (the country from which a special Muslim SS unit emanated), so wake the heck up. The big shame is the snoozing and snoring coming from the Israeli Tourism and Foreign Ministries: I’m an Israeli and I think the best thing we can do is invite these celebs who buy into popularist CNN nonsense to come see for themselves.

I would be happy to take them around, show them the sites and raise their awareness to the point they realize that being a celeb means having a social responsibility for not showering their fans with wrong minded opinions.

Jonny on March 10, 2010 at 4:33 pm

You are making the assumption that you are dealing with fairminded and decent individuals. That is usually a mistaken assumption. Anti-Semetism does not arise from a lack of information, but from an ideological outlook. It is a mindset similar to the one held by 9/11 Truthers, and is thus uniquely impervious to contrary information, even if well documented.

Now I’m confused. I thought Jews were evil capitalists that ran the banks. So which is it “Editor”?

FrenchKiss on March 10, 2010 at 4:35 pm

Do you mean the Jews that were slaughtered by the Ukranians after 1917 in mass pogroms? Or the ones that were slaughtered en mass by the White Russians even after the Civil War was over? Or the ones that were slaughtered by Joe Stalin during the 30s and 40s and 50s in Russia, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, etc.? Or those slaughtered by the Latvians? Amost all the Jewish Bolsheviks were themselves killed by Stalin, and constituted a small minority of the Bolshevik Party. This smear goes straight back to Hitler.

But there anti-Semitic smears have a way of living on, even though they have been refuted many times. The latest, very effective refutation of this canard is Robert Wistrich’s incredibly majestic new book, A Lethal Obsession.

Little Al on March 10, 2010 at 5:10 pm

Well, that sucks. I’ve always liked her.

Fleiter on March 10, 2010 at 5:15 pm

Frenchkiss, maybe this old Hungarian joke can shed a little light on how both can apply.

At the end of the Second World War, there was a group of Jews in an air raid shelter in Budapest. They were discussing the situation. When the bombing had ended, they decided to send a Jewish boy outside to find out what the order of society was like, so that they could adapt themselves to suit it from the very beginning. The boy asked: “How will I know?” An older Jew answered: “It is very simple. If young Jews are in power, it is Communism, but if old Jews are in power, then it is capitalism.”

I know the subject is taboo, and will undoubtedly get me an ad hominem response, but I couldn’t resist.

Nope on March 10, 2010 at 5:15 pm

No, it just demonstrates what you truly are. Also, you seem to project all of your personal problems on to Jews, rather than looking at yourself. It is a maturity problem.

Wow. Such a vitriolic reaction to something that even a lot of Jews don’t support. I know any sympathy I had for the Jews has now pretty much been quashed by such hateful reactions to something that is far from a cut and dried issue. I’d like to thank all you militant Jews for helping me to see the Palestinian side of things.

Mike on March 10, 2010 at 5:25 pm

I rather doubt that your anti-Semetism grew out of this alone. Try coming up with something a little more convincing as an excuse.

editor,

there were never many Jews in Albania. Not even Jewish Communists. The head of the Albanian Communist state was a Muslim by birth. Your comment is repulsive, and ignorant at best. Remember what Debbie said. The Germans recruited an SS unit, called the Skanderbeg division, I believe, among the Kossovo Albanians. They probably spent most of their time killing Serbs since there weren’t enough Jews to keep them busy.

I did not know that Joseph Stalin was Jewish. It would have been news to that Georgian. I do not recall seeing any rabbis on the Central Committee or Politburo from photographs of those years. Also, just before his death, Stalin really showed his love for the Jews by starting up the “Doctor’s Plot”.

Mario on March 10, 2010 at 7:10 pm

Rob, that’s a deceptive article. What the Jewish settlers were doing by destroying that spring with concrete and sand was actually for the benefit of the Palestinians. You may not realize it, but a popular drink of Palestinians is a glass filled with three fingers of hot sand, garnished with tiny bits of their dress keffyah. Ask any Jewish settler, they’ll tell you!
After all, Jerusalem has been a Jewish city for thousands of years (if you ignore the long periods where they were not in control, or only a small minority).

Nope on March 10, 2010 at 7:11 pm

Don’t know why I bother to answer these nitwits; ‘Mike’ is repulsed by the harsh language of the Jooos — this pushes him to the Palestinian side. Guess it didn’t take much for him to see their merits, no looking at the issues.

But of course, Mike understands the Muslims are a model of polite and courteous language. Never any Muslims using harsh language on this blog, just the Jooos.

RE ‘editor’, not for this person, but for others, the murder of Ukranians by the Russian Communists and the forced famine started 1929 and the early 30s, after Stalin had assumed full power, and Jewish leaders such as Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev, and the rest had been purged from leadership positions. The Russian Communist Party at the time of the Ukranian massacre was virtually Judenrein except for one or two symbolic figures with no power.

Yes, the Bolsheviks slaughtered other Russians, indefensible, but almost all of it again, after Stalin took power. Some in the late teens and early 20s, and some Bolsheviks had a role, but they were people like Trotsky who totally repudiated their Jewish heritage, and as I said before, there were mass Ukranian pogroms against Jews after 1917 as well as before. The Ukranian pogroms in the early 20th century were notorious, and occurred well before the Russian Revolution of 1917.

Little Al on March 10, 2010 at 8:09 pm

Someone wrote on a public forum that Israel had “embarrassed” VP Biden by publicizing their construction plans. I can’t help but wonder: how does the act of Jews building homes on our ancestral lands embarrass anyone?

Besides, economic growth is a good thing. It’s good for the Arabs too.

If our government weren’t bought and paid for with Saudi petrodollars, we’d never play to his ridiculous charade. Let’s say the Israelis gave Mahmoud Abbas everything he demanded. Under those circumstances, the entire PA leadership would be hung in the town square for all to see moments after they got it. That’s because HAMAS is the favorite of the Arabs and the only thing keeping HAMAS from killing Abbas and his creepy, corrupt cronies is the IDF’s presence in the West Bank.

Most informed readers of this blog know this. Unfortunately, our government plays a sick, cynical game to keep their Saudi masters happy. That’s what we get when we have the best government money can buy.

Pete Bone on March 12, 2010 at 10:40 am

    Dear Pete:

I will assume you are asking in good faith. Here’s the answer:

we are in a Civilizational fight against those who would spread sharia. Israel is a frontline state in the fight against the spread. Our country would be transformed horribly if Sharia was adopted here—I don’t know if you have a daughter. I do.

Therefore, support Israel in its fight. Got it?

    Occam's Tool on March 3, 2011 at 4:53 pm

What’s remarkable about the furor is that there’s no reason for it. Israel has made clear repeatedly that the freeze does NOT apply to Jerusalem – a city that’s had a Jewish majority for the last 150 years or so. Moreover, it’s in Ramat Shlomo – a neighborhood with at least 2,000 housing units already, and which even Abbas knows will never be ceded to the Palestinians. So what’s the big deal?

But of course, VP “Shmoe” Biden, who only yesterday was gushing of his love of Israel, decided not just to publicly condemn the announcement, but to stiff his dinner hosts (the PM and his wife) by arriving 90 minutes late. After Obama had Bibi brought to the White House back entrance in a service van last Fall, one would think Biden would want to avoid yet another insult. If Biden thought he’d raise Obama’s pitiful standing in Israel, he blew it with this stunt.

What was sickening was to then see Biden making buddy buddy with Abbas – who only at the last minute decided to delay commemorating the Coastal Road terrorist until, you know, Biden has left. The same Abbas who boasts that he’s conceded and will concede nothing, and now wants to cancel those indirect talks.

Raymond in DC on March 10, 2010 at 9:50 pm

Joe Biden should get acquainted with real history. Most of the “Palestinians” that are within the borders of Israel are there because they were thrown out of Jordan many years ago.

Actually, Jordan is still made up of approximately 60 percent of “Palestinians” which happens to be a name created during the Roman empire by the Romans. Jordan is a large country with a small population. It is interesting that none of the Arab neighbors love the “Palestinians” enough to let them have a piece of their land.

If the Israeli government wishes to put up housing within it’s domain, it should do so. If anyone feels they should not, then they should try to stop them.

The real tragedy of the “Palestinians” lies in the fact that these people who live in self created shambles could have a new way of life that would give them land, identity, a good future for their children and to achieve this, all they would have to do is recognize the right of Israel’s existence as a sovereign nation.

Apparently it is not worth saving their entire nation, children or anything else because the recognition of Israel is too high a price to pay for happiness. I do not feel their self inflicted pain.

The thing is there were some 33 families and 200 Jews in Albania prior to the onset of WW2. The Italians were in charge and rather than being sent to the camps they were allowed to disperse into the general population and survived the war.

It was the Serbs in general who were victimized. Jews would have been a target if there had been enough of them to be noticed.

Another excellent post, Debbie.

It’s a shame about Eliza Dushku: she has a million dollar body, but is backed by only a ten cent brain. She along with Biden really needs two cups of STFU.

JeffE on March 11, 2010 at 7:52 am

I have to wonder about hollywood and their opinions. When you live in a bubble, its much easier to have the wrong understanding of things.

I remember when Eliza’s co-star on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a British actor named Anthony Stewart Head, was all up in arms about the way Israelis treat donkeys. He was promoting a charity but it quickly turned into a diatribe against Israel in general. Then people responded by showing the way Palestinians inhumanely treated their animals and it devolved into name calling and the standard, “Jewish lobby controlling the world and the US is just a pawn, blah blah blah…”

I really liked her but now I dont know what to think. How can I support someone that advocates the Palestinian position? It looks like she may end up in the Mel Gibson category for me.

Joe Schmo on March 11, 2010 at 11:44 am

Good for her. The Israelis better realize that they can’t continully thumb their noses at their American friends and patrons and expect to get away with it. President Obama has asked, reasonably enough, for a cessation of settlement building while peace talks are being revived. Yes, the Palestinians at this point are not ready or willing to make compromises for peace but it doesn’t change the fact that Israel will some day have to give up most the settlements. Do they need to be threatened with funding being cut off before they do what the Americans ask. I’ve had it with the religious right and the parasitical settlers and, yes, I’m a Zionist but like most Zionists, neither the JIDF nor the Jewish self hating left represent my views.

An Albanian raised Mormon? Are you sure?

don cutler on March 12, 2010 at 5:25 pm

Who gave her the RIGHT to speak up about this? The US CONSTITUTION, that’s what! Or have you all gotten so caught up in your so-called “truth” that you forgot that?

If you really disagree with her stance, why not actually try and PROVE it wrong rather than spewing sensationalist drama? Just because she disagrees with Israel’s decision to build doesn’t mean she’s automatically anti-Israel or anti-Semitic. There are a lot of people who think it’s a diplomatically unsound action (myself included), and with good reason given how Obama and Biden have been requesting a halt in all settlements as a precondition to talks. Even if you disagree with Obama’s approach, you have to admit that the announcement was, at the least, bad timing on Netanyahu’s part.

Could Miss Dushku speak up more for wrongs on the Palestinian side? Yes, definitely, though given how much American society already blindly hates Palestinians, I don’t think that would do much. Does that make her or her viewpoints “stupid”? No. Just because our enemies do horrible things does not make us automatically guilt-free. Even if we disagree, we should still consider criticism of ourselves to see if it has any truth and, if so, if we can improve – another’s wrongs do not make ours any more right. Miss Dushku has voiced her criticism in a polite, albeit vague way. You, however, have not, and use of phrases such as “boneheaded” and “stupid” seems only to describe /your/ reaction. If you disagree with her, that’s great – I’d love to hear the logical reasoning behind your stance – but save the name calling for kindergarten, where it belongs.

Frankly, I can’t help but wonder if it’s this same immaturity and closed-mindedness that makes progress on Middle East peace so difficult…

So Eastern Europeans pogromized the Jews, eh? I wonder why.Jewish money lenders charged interest rates up tp 40-50% per annum; Jewish tax collectors gouged the people on commission from the kings and nobility and Jewish sex slave traders like the Zwi Migdal kidnapped thousands of women yearly into brothels. Then, of course, there were those murderous Jewish Commissars like Ana Pauker, Jacob Berman, Matyas Rakosi and, let us not forget, Bela Kun. The miracle is that the Jews in Eastern Europe were not mass murdered long ago.

john thames on October 30, 2010 at 1:00 am

This is typical of Zionist ideology. Hasidism was founded by Israel Ben Elizer in Poland. He became known as the Baal Shem Tov. There were many who belived in his teachings and many who did not. Those jewish people who were against what they saw as innovation and heretical teaching were labeled as misnagdim. It seems that labeling people as Opponents is at the heart of this cult, which has influenced Ashkenazi judaism. Eliza Dushku is entitled to her opinion as are you. I wonder what you think of Norman Finkelstein’s views, who happens to be jewish and has been to palestine and israel. Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum was also a critic of Zionist ideology and its use in oppressing others.

mark on July 23, 2012 at 4:22 pm

And now Zionist Jews and their Federal Reserve Bank, the media monopoly, the medical industry, hollywood, the entertainment business, etc is now in their power based on 60+ years of billions of american taxpayer dollars annually given straight to Israel, have ruined the United States by buying and corrupting everything that America once stood for. Thank you Eliza, for sticking up for Palestinian homes being stolen by these wicked creatures, which God states in the Bible and the Quran, that the messiah will be returning to punish, for their misdeeds against mankind.. America and the rest of the world is waking up to these cornered zionist rats. Zionism is not true Judaism, and should never be mistaken for Judaism. It’s very easy to distinguish a zionist pharisee jew simply by their actions towards mankind. Most Jewish folks are regular human beings being taken advantage of like the rest of us in the U.S., so please never mistake Zionism for Judaism… Zionism is destroying mankind.
